#TheLifesWayReviews - CLASS OF '83 @NetflixSA #Crime #Movie #ClassOf83

Hi Friends,

Class of 83 is directed by Atul Sabharwal and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment especially Gauri Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Gaurav Verma. Class of 83 is based on the novel The Class of 83 written by S. Hussain Zaidi and published in October 2019. The movie is released on Netflix OTT platform on 21st August 2020. This is their 3rd collaboration after Bard of Blood and Betaal also on the same platform.

The movie stars Bobby Deol as Vijay Singh who is the Dean of the Police Training Academy in Nashik and has been posted there as a punishment because of his heroic acts to grab the gangsters of the city. He is posted there by the politicians who had collaborations with the Gangsters of the Bombay at that time. He tries to clean the system from inside using his own methodology by recruiting the people and commanding them to directly kill the gangsters and clean their tracks too.
#TheLifesWayReviews - CLASS OF '83 @NetflixSA #Crime #Movie #ClassOf83
Dean finds 5 people from the bottom of the class of 83 who comes for Police Training and recruits them to work with him to clean the system. This movie is the story of their training, missions, ego and greed as these 5 young recruits go through life. The movie is the story of all these 5 people with each other and played by Bhupendra Jadawat as Pramod Shukla, Hitesh Bhojraj as Vishnu Varde, Ninad Mahajani as Laxman Jadhav, Prithvik Pratap as Janardan Surve and finally Sameer Paranjape as Aslam Khan. The story is narrated in the voice of Aslam Khan and also his point of view to take yours through the story. The story takes a turn when Vijay is re-introduced into the mainstream system to catch and bring back all the 5 of these together again to catch the don he is after.

Coming to the acting and direction, Bobby Deol looks good in his dean role and as a police inspector too but has only 2 expressions in the whole movie. The others don't get much more chance to other than a scene or two to showcase their talent. The five recruits do showcase some of the good moments as a part of their bonding but the overall plot has nothing to offer as you already know what is going to happen. I have been a fan of all the books written by S. Hussain Zaidi and have read a lot of them on various DONs he has written.

Anup Soni plays the politician Manohar Patkar and Joy Sengupta plays Raghav Desai who plays one of the best friends of Vijay. Also, the movie is shot in this brownish kind of effects and filter to bring back the old era but to me it was irritating. I think it would be great if you would rather watch Ajay Devgn's Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai as there is nothing that comes out of this movie in terms of any historical significant strategies used by the police, only 1 case is able to generate your interest and also one kind of network in terms of Telegrams and Postman's from GPO which is new in this movie. Overall, it's a one-time tiring watch but if you are a fan of Bobby Deol, do watch it! RATING 2.5/5

Cheers!!!

#TheLifesWayReviews - GUNJAN SAXENA The Kargil Girl @NetflixSA #Movie #Biography

Hi Friends,

Netflix released Gunjan Saxena The Kargil Girl, a real-life biopic on the series of events in the life of Flight Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena as she becomes India's first female combat pilot in the Kargil War on 12th August 2020. The movie is 1hr 52 minutes long and the lead character is played by Janhvi Kapoor and she does her part well to tell the story of a girl who wants to fly a plane to getting enrolled into the Indian Air Force and then facing the men led environment where there are no female toilets too. Janhvi Kapoor looks cute and beautiful and played her role really well but I don't think she will be able to become the likes of Kareena Kapoor or Vidya Balan or Kangana Ranaut, but that's for the time to decide and let's focus on the movie on Netflix.

The movie is directed by Sharan Sharma and produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, Zee Studios and Apoorva Mehta. It's difficult to produce a movie which has to showcase any kind of Armed Forces and in some of the scenes, the whole drama looks fake and not real. The film is again fully on the person who can take any movie towards something people will enjoy - Pankaj Tripathi plays Anup Saxena - Gunjan's father who really gives her equal rights in his family and gives her a choice to do whatever she wants to do. The father-daughter relationship is the best that you will relate to and the scenes between Janhvi and Pankaj are awesome.
#TheLifesWayReviews - GUNJAN SAXENA The Kargil Girl @NetflixSA #Movie #Biography
Angad Bedi plays the big brother of Gunjan - Anshuman Saxena who is also a soldier in Punjab Regiment as shown in the movie and tries hard to save his sister from the harsh realities faced in the forces and tries to bring it to her awareness. Ayesha Raza Mishra plays Kirti Saxena mother of Gunjan and brings some comical moments in the movie. Vineet Kumar Singh plays the role of Flight Commander Officer Dileep Singh and Manav Vij as Commanding Officer Gautam Sinha. It's the second time Vineet is seen in the role of a soldier after playing one in Betaal web series which is also Netflix production. Angad Bedi tries to look convincing but is not able to do so. The music is composed by Amit Trivedi and the songs suit the movie but nothing worth remembering.

The trailer really looked promising but the overall execution is not that great is what I felt. The other  IAF officers don't look real at all. The story is great but the overall direction could have been better. The movie should inspire young generations. The movie is definitely a one time watch but won't make an impression other than just being the love between father and daughter and the overall family. Overall, you can watch the movie this weekend to see what were the hurdles faced by the real Gunjan to join IAF under the SSC and thereafter to protect the country. RATING 3/5

Cheers!!!

#TheLifesWayReviews - DOOR KE DARSHAN @NetflixSA #Movie #Comedy #DoorDarshan

Hi Friends,

Door Ke Darshan a Bollywood Comedy movie which is now available on Netflix digital platform and is really a great watch if you remember the era of 1990s when the only channel we used to have was National Broadcaster's DoorDardarshan and it was a unique experience which was really great. It would not broadcast all day giving you time to work and play, will have programs scheduled every week, Chitrahaar used to come on Wed and Fri, News used to come every day at 840pm and some of the serials made stars using this special platform like Shah Rukh Khan and many more.

Door Ke Darshan stars Manu Rishi Chaddha as the Sunil Bhateja aka Cheeku who stays in a rented house along with his mother Darshan Kaur played by Dolly Ahluwalia and 2 kids. His wife is played by Mahie Gill and she has left him and living with her family near the Jama Masjid area in New Delhi. The kids are played by Shardul Rana as Sunny and Archita Sharma as Sweety. Darshan Kaur is in a coma since the past 30 years but family takes care of her and one day she shows some signs of improvement after listening to the name of Bimla. Doctors advise the family members to don't give her stress and they try to make it look like 1990. The family immediately transforms her room to look like those time and it is really hilarious and nostalgic to watch all those technology and stuff which is no longer used and is being replaced by new technology.

The owner of the house is Goldy played by Rajesh Sharma and his wife Geetu is played by Supriya Shukla and their daughter Twinkle is played by Mehak Manwani who is also the love interest of Sunny. Goldy does have his eyes on Sunil's son and it creates a lot of hilarious moments in the movie. Sunny's best friend is played by Sumit Gulati as Pappi who is the one who says the name of Bimla and they both didn't tell anyone who is Bimla till the end when it is revealed to the audience.
#TheLifesWayReviews - DOOR KE DARSHAN @NetflixSA #Movie #Comedy #DoorDarshan
The movie brings back a lot of nostalgic moments recreated by the kids and the family as they try to cover up all the mistakes. The older ones are made to wear school uniforms and walk like kids. The kids of the house are turned to become help and maid. They try to create DD news and many other things which makes you rolling on the floor. Manu Rishi Chaddha does her part really well and superb acting by Dolly Ahluwalia and she is really the heart and soul of this movie. Mahie Gill looks beautiful in the movie and the Shardul and Sweety have really played their roles well and suits in their characters. Mehak is a bright star and is already signed for big movies and web series. A whole song is picturised on her in the movie. The movie is directed by Gagan Puri and produced by Ritu Arya and Sandeep Arya. Music is from Meet Bros and it was released on 28th Feb 2020 but is now available on Netflix for your viewing pleasure.

Overall, it's a 119 minutes of comedy movie that will bring back all the memories people relived when Ramayan and Mahabharta were shown during the COVID-19 times and also all those stuff we used to use from wired telephones to alarm clocks to radio to cassette players. This is definitely a movie which you should watch with your family and enjoy the Door Darshan. RATING 3.5/5

Cheers!!!

#TheLifesWayReviews - RAAT AKELI HAI @NetflixSA #Movie #Crime #RaatAkeliHai

Hi Friends,

Raat Akeli Hai is the new crime drama movie which was released on Netflix on 31st July 2020 and is directed by Honey Trehan. The movie stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte and Ila Arun in a powerful performance which also has Shweta Tripathi, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Swanand Kirkire, Nishant Dahiya and Aditya Srivastava.

The movie is a murder mystery of Raghuveer Singh played by Khalid Tyabji on the night of his second marriage to Radhika Apte. The whole family and relatives go quiet about the murder and bring in a small town cop Inspector Jatil Yadav to solve the case played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. As the investigation progresses, he comes to know that he has already met Radha played by Radhika Apte as she tries to run away from her parents some 5 years ago. Around the same time, Raghuveer Singh's wife and the driver are also killed by a mercenary.

The crime drams is really fast-paced and slowly unpacks the mystery behind the murder and the other selfish motives of all the characters one by one. Jatil Yadav falls in love with Radha as he is a bachelor whose mother played by Ila Arun always tries to find a suitable bride for him wherever she goes. The scenes between Ila Arun and Nawazuddin are really funny and the dialogues are really good.
#TheLifesWayReviews - RAAT AKELI HAI @NetflixSA #Movie #Crime #RaatAkeliHai
The crime-solving capability and character of Jatil Yadav are tested as the whole system is against him and doesn't want him to solve the case as the family is against the outsider Radha who gets the share in the property due to her marriage with Raghuveer Singh. They want to put the blame on her and looking for an opportunity to throw her out of the house and may kill her on the way. The locations look really real as the movie is shot in Lucknow and Kanpur.

The film never felt like it's limited budget release or digital platform release but made on the scale of a full feature film and rises way above the other feature film releases too in recent times. The acting of Radhika Apte and Nawazuddin Siddiqui is amazingly great and the tension building between them is great to watch. Raat Akeli Hai has a rugged and rustic look to the whole drama and it feels really real and believable.

The movie is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Abhishek Chaubey and written by Smita Singh and is available on Netflix to watch if you have not seen yet. This movie is 1000 times better than the last released movie of Nawazuddin named Ghoomketu on the ZEE5 digital platform. If you are a fan of Nawazuddin you should not miss this Singham style fun without beating anyone, killing anyone or any other un-necessary macho action. RATING 4/5

SHIMLA MIRCHI @NetflixSA #Movie #Comedy #ShimlaMirchi

Hi Friends,

Shimla Mirchi is a situational romantic comedy and a light-hearted movie that you can enjoy with your family. Shimla Mirchi stars Hema Malani as Rukmani, Rakul Preet Singh as Naina, Rukmani's daughter, Kanwaljit Singh as Tilak, Naina's father, and Rajkummar Rao as Avinash. The movie also stars Shakti Kapoor, Kiran Juneja, Kamlesh Gill, and Dharmendra in a special appearance along with Ramesh Sippy. The movie is written, produced, and directed by Ramesh Sippy himself and was distributed by Viacom18 Motion Pictures. The movie was released in theatres on 3 January 2020 and was soon available on Netflix's online platform and app.
#TheLifesWayReviews - SHIMLA MIRCHI @NetflixSA #Movie #Comedy #ShimlaMirchi
The movie is really great to watch once during these lockdown times as it brings light-hearted comedy and the acting of Hema Malini needs no introduction. It's really a pleasure to see her live on screen in this movie and Rajkummar Rao has acted just like he does in every movie - perfect to the character. Rakul looks beautiful and her screen presence brings a lot of cuteness and charm on the big screen. The songs are okay but not worthy of remembering and the music is composed by Meet Bros Anjjan. You should definitely watch the movie this weekend on Netflix's digital platform. The story is not so different as it shows the love story of a boy fallen in love with a girl and works as a waiter at her restaurant despite being fully educated and a third angle is introduced when the mother thinks that the boy loves her but the situation is used just like it used to be in Priyadarshan movies but overall you won't waste your 2 hours watching this fun ride in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India. RATING 2.5/5

Kandasamys: The Wedding @ShowmaxOnline #Comedy #KandasamysTheWedding

Hi Friends,

It's the biggest fear of people to create the success of the first book or movie or whatever they excelled in the first part. It takes courage and a lot of faith in one's capabilities to create the same success to be well accepted by the public reading or watching the creation. Keeping up with Kandasamys became South Africa's best picture in terms of showcasing the South African Born Indian community living in Chatsworth, Durban. The second part of the same Kandasamys: The Wedding got released on 18th April 2019 but unfortunately I could not watch the same in the theatres. Showmax has not launched the movie on its online platform and I watched the same yesterday.

The second part also features the same star cast as it's the continuation of the love story between Prishen (Madhushan Singh) and Jodi (Mishqah Parthiephal) as now the preparations for their wedding is the central theme of the second part and to the main day. As it happens in most families the preparations are the hardest part as the families start preparing for all the arrangements and there will be friction between the groom and the bride's families as they want the best for their kids.
#TheLifesWayReviews - Kandasamys: The Wedding @ShowmaxOnline #Comedy #KandasamysTheWedding
The father of Prishen is replaced in this movie and the rest of the cast is similar to the first part of the movie. It's been played by Yugan Naidoo as Preggie Naidoo, Shanthi Naidoo is played by Maeshni Naicker. The Kandasamy family is played by Jailoshini Naidoo as Jennifer Kandasamy, Koobeshen Naidoo as Elvis Kandasamy and above all Mariam Bassa as Kaunam 'Aaya' Kandasamy. They all have acted greatly and fit perfectly in their characters. The scene where Aaya uses the Germs mask can be called as the premotion of Covid19 as now everyone is wearing a mask to save themselves.

As I was expecting a lot from the movie, I was not able to enjoy this part as much as the first part. Some scenes are nice but the overall movie is lacking the feel and vibe of a great script. The director Jayan Moodley tries to showcase the stressing elements in the newlywed's life before the marriage and during the parts of the ceremonies but it was difficult to do in a comical way. The parts between the Rushil Juglall as Arsevan and Tesarnia Oree as Poobasha are totally unnecessary as they are not only boring but brings nothing to the overall comical value in the picture and are totally irritating.

The locations used from Durban and nearby areas are amazing and I totally loved watching those and some of the places I have missed, I have noted down to see in my next trip to Durban. If you have not been part of the Kandasamy's do bing watch it on Showmax in continuation with the first part on this coming weekend and enjoy the Durban Bunny Chow moments. It won't give you as much pleasure as Hum Aapke Hain Kaun but it's worth your time (127 minutes in total) to attend a local South African Indian Wedding.  RATING 3/5

CHOKED Paisa Bolta Hai @NetflixSA #Movie #Drama #Choked

Hi Friends,

Chocked - Paisa Bolta Hai is the latest Hindi movie to be launched on Netflix Platform based on the Demonetization in a drama format set in Mumbai and is directed and produced by Anurag Kashyap. The story is written by Nihit Bhave and music is composed by Karsh Kale. The lead actors are Saiyami Kher and Roshan Matthew along with Netflix's favorite artist whom you will remember from Sacred Games Season 1 and 2 like Amruta Subhash and Rajshri Deshpande.

The movie is set in a building where a couple lives on the third floor along with various other neighbors and the various relationship equations have been played out. There is a marriage happening in one of the neighbor's houses and amidst all that demonetization is introduced. Saiyami plays Sarita who works at a bank as a cashier and a singer from the reality show who got chocked while performing in the finals which led to her eliminations and that shock is still getting her chocked from time to time by the name of singing. I could not even recognize her in this unglamorous role as a mother and married woman. She has really played her role perfectly well.

Roshan plays Sushant husband of Sarita who used to play guitar in the reality show and thereafter is doing much unsuccessful business to help the financial conditions of the family creating friction between him and his wife while their son becomes a judge. He is in business with Dinesh who also lives on the same building and they continuously fight over several matters related to money and clients. Really loved Roshan in his role.
#TheLifesWayReviews - CHOKED Paisa Bolta Hai @NetflixSA #Movie #Drama #Choked
Amruta plays Sharvari Tai, a single parent whose daughter is getting married and Sushant is helping her with many of the tasks and activities of the marriage. Tai's role is of a neighbor who also helps and gives an ear to Sarita and demands helps after the demonetization to getting her old currency replaced at all costs. Amruta plays her role amazingly great and she is one force to reckon with in this web series industry in the coming future. Rajshri comes on the screen for not more than 5 minutes in the whole storyline in the background with part of the ensemble.

Due to some leakage problems of the sink, the plumber does a make-shift kind of arrangement and the currency notes stored in the pipelines by the PA to the MLA in the top floor flat come to Sarita's flat kitchen sink pipes causing chocking of the water. Her happiness knows no bounds and sooner she gets more than enough which she keeps hiding from her husband. Soon it is revealed that Dinesh is also getting those notes as he returns the money owned to Sushant whereas Sarita pays Reddy the money owned by Sushant.

It's a situational drama based around where the bankers are not clear, people are not clear, and money makers in between are trying to hack the system by setting up connections with bank managers and politicians. There is small suspense at the end of the drama which I don't want to reveal and you shall watch it to enjoy the same. It goes after an adage in Hindi, Hamam mein sab nange hai! It's a 114 minutes long movie based on the after-effects of demonetization released on 5th June 2020 on Netflix and reminded me of Ek Chalis ki Last Local movie starring Abhay Deol and Neha Dhupia. RATING 2.5/5

Flickstree - Bringing Personalized #Movie Suggestions #Apps #Online

Hi Guys,

Since my childhood, I have been fascinated by movie stars to watch them on the big screen or on TV. I learned a lot from them and tried to imitate these movie stars in all their roles. Movies gives us some hours of journey into the life of someone's character and life as it rotates from good to bad to again good in the end.

There is a new platform that is redefining movie watching and making serious buzz in entertainment and personalization space. It’s called Flickstree and it is a great way to discover your next awesome film by providing completely personalized and superb, movie recommendations!

Flickstree is smart website and mobile app and learns what type of movies a user likes, based on advanced machine learning, and offers movie suggestions based on them. Every movie passes through a critical lens of various filters, before being recommended to a user. It also then lets a user know all legitimate platforms where a recommended movie is available to watch.

Before Flickstree, there was no search process through which you could experience awesome movie discoveries. While searching, you’d either come across the same set of popular movies through manual genre lookups, ask friends, or you would already need to know a few movies that you’d want to watch.

Sometimes there were days when you’d just give up on renting or downloading a film, because you couldn't decide. Thanks to Flickstree those days of being undecided are over. Flickstree is the perfect way to discover the film that is perfect for you. The website is ready and to now make a mobile site and an app, Flickstree is crowd funding on Indiegogo at http://bit.ly/1SvHLKS. You can experience the magic called Flickstree at www.flickstree.com also.

The one section, I simply loved about this website are the names of Popular Movie Critics (India and International) and it was wonderful to attach faces to the names we see in newspapers, magazines and online mediums.

Funds received via the campaign will also help Flickstree expand to more languages of cinema, run insight gathering program with users to further shape Flickstree and improve the technology infrastructure. For more information contact - Saurabh Singh on email: saurabh@flickstree.com

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Dec 2014

Hi Guys,

December is the time to create new goals for the coming year and festival season this Christmas. This year was great in all the ways as I won the Mission Samsung Challenge and also my blog crossed more than 625,000 pageviews this year in 2015. The followers across all social media channels also increased and I was able to do some sponsored posts to buy myself Nikon flash SB-910 from all the earnings. This month will see some of the blog posts which I always wanted to do and couldn't do in this year. I hope I am able to catch up on the promises I made to people this year.

I plan to create regular content in 2016 and change the way I do the blog posts. I am unlearning and relearning everything about the social media skills via books and online communities. This is the most important decisions I have taken because in day to day life, you don't have much time left to blog and when you are blogging and people making use of your time and resources to give you nothing in return than it hurts. I have decided that I will say it very clearly to all the brands that I won't work for free anymore unless I want and this want will be based on desires fulfilled by the brands.

Last year, December was more about movie reviews as I was catching up on all the movies I saw. I did participated in Indiblogger contests but during 2015 I didn't win any Indiblogger contest at all but was able to get #HappyHours gift vouchers enabling me to buy the Nikon flash. Also, I got sponsored by HTC for HTC ONE M8 but I really loved the HTC ONE M9 a lot which I am using these days for my posts on Instagram.

1. Melbourne - The Most Livable City in the World @Indiblogger Contest - http://www.thelifesway.com/2014/12/melbourne-most-livable-city-in-world.html
Australia is one of the most sought after travel destination and is really awesome to visit. My parents visited the same this year and loved the city a lot.

2. Movie Reviews - http://www.thelifesway.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
It was time to finish some of the movies I watched last year and among the same, I really loved watching Big Hero 6, Instructions not included etc.

December this year is more about creating some rules and goals for The Life's Way in next year. I am still gauging as to what to commit to and what goal or dream will keep me awake towards the same. Will be sharing the same soon...

Cheers!!!

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Aug 2014 (500th Post)

Hi Guys,

August is the month when you start planning big things for yourself as the weather changes and it renews your resolutions to go into full bloom. This is my 500th post on my blog The Life's Way and it's been a journey of more than 33 months now. My blog has reached a place where I wanted it to be but still a lot of work needs to be done daily on the same. I hope to reach 650 posts by the end of this year which seems like a difficult task but let's see and start aiming towards the same!

Last Year, August in Johannesburg was very cold as compared to this year's winters weather. I started this series of posts last year in the month of August only and it really gives a perspective as to what you was thinking and where were you with your blog.

1. NDTV Rising Stars of Comedy -

Last year, I came across this unique concept of NDTV Prime #workhardplayhard where they divided the news channel into comedy series of shows after the prime time slots. Some of the standup comedians are really great and the other series in which news are told in a funny way was awesome to watch! Do check them out as they have some great episodes on their youtube channel.

2. Product Review - Kinivo ZX-100 Portable Speaker - http://www.thelifesway.com/2014/08/product-review-kinivo-zx-100-portable.html - Kinivo has been a brand which is closer to my heart as I am using their products a lot for my day-to-day usage. Their products are great and build quality is worth its value. This small speaker is very good and always stays with me offering great entertainment at all times.

3. Launch Event - Disney On Ice @Coca Cola Dome Johannesburg - http://www.thelifesway.com/2014/08/launch-event-disney-on-ice-coca-cola.html - Dinsey Africa doesn't need any introduction and Disney on Ice is a unique extravaganza that happens once every year. Last year show was my first time ever and this year also it was awesome. Do keep an eye on the next years show and book your tickets in the front rows.

4. Product Review - Nokia Lumia 720 + Wireless Cover + Wireless Charger - http://www.thelifesway.com/2014/08/product-review-nokia-lumia-720-wireless.html - I bought this phone and gifted it to my parents. My mom likes the phone and is using the same for sharing photographs and messages on whatsapp. It took time for her to learn the same but now she is happy with the same.

5. Product Review - Lowepro CompuDay Photo 150 - Messenger Bag - http://www.thelifesway.com/2014/08/product-review-lowepro-compuday-photo.html - I was looking for a Camera bagpack but came across this unique messenger bag from Lowepro which can hold a camera on its side along with the laptop and tablet. I never took the bag to the field but now my dad has taken the same to Australia and I hope it will be useful to him on his 6 month long trip.

Along with all these posts, I did a lot of movie reviews and other posts also. Overall, it was a great month and I really enjoyed myself with the new camera NX300 Samsung that I had during that time.

Cheers!!!

Movie Review - Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015)

Hi Guys,

Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) is an emotional drama with a purpose directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Salman Khan and Rockline Venkatesh. This is the first film under the banner of Salman Khan Films (SKF). The movie is about a guy played by Salman Khan from a small town who is a Lord Hanuman devotee. He sees very less success in everything he does in his life but then also continues with his child like innocence and pure heart. Somehow his life gets crossed with a 6 year old girl played by Harshaali Malhotra who can't speak and who came to Delhi for a religious trip with her mother from Pakistan and misses her train.

It's a process now for Pawan Kumar Chaturvedi aka Bajrangi to find out the details and whereabouts of the girl as he gets to know her more with each passing day. The flashback shows the long story between Bajrangi and Rasika played by amazingly beautiful Kareena Kapoor Khan. She looked gorgeous in all her scenes but has very less role to play in the second half of the movie. The romantic song "Tu Chahiye" which is sang by Atif Aslam has been shot very nicely and this is the first time, he has sang for Salman Khan. All the songs of the movie are really great to listen and cinematographically great. I really loved Adnan Sami in a Qawwali - "Bhar do Jholi Meri" during the climax of the movie.
The story shows a lot about the perceptions that we create in our minds by the difference of religion, caste and countries. Salman Khan has played that very well as his role as a devotee of Bajrang Bali and how others around him also has the similar thinking pattern. Some of the great scenes are those when he starts breaking the same due to his growing love and care for Munni. Harshaali has great divine face and smile and when she cries, I am sure everyone will cry with her. She is awesome in all her scenes and Salman Khan has played his role superbly and this is the first time you will see him in an non-macho role. There are some fighting sequences but that also are shown to keep it minimized in the whole movie.

The first part of the movie builds up the story as Bajrangi tries to identifies the girl and his own life story. The second part is the defining moment as he starts his journey to Pakistan to take Munni to her parents. The journey starts and is soon joined with  none other than a Pakistani press reporter played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. It's only when he joins the team, the travel and related fun starts. He is simply superb as he takes the center stage and steers the movie through various parts of the travel towards the final destination and meeting different kinds of people as they hide from the police and authorities. He is a versatile actor and no movie is complete without him whatever character he plays these days. I am sure that he will pick up the Best Supporting Actor (Male) this year at the Filmfare awards.

There has been some disconnections and missing context in the movie in the first part. The editor could have taken some 10-15 min out and made the movie more interesting but nonetheless the Bajrangi Bhaijaan is definitely a heart-warming story which will bring a lot of peace and hope in the hearts of every Indian and Pakistani residents around the world. A must watch with all your family and you will be entertained for sure and keep your handkerchiefs ready for both tears of sorrow, joys and laughter. The last ten minutes requires it the most and no matter how harder you try to stop tears, they will simply not stop flowing! Kudos to Kabir Khan who has created a movie to cherish forever and more when "Aaj ki Party" song will be added to the movie.

The movie released in Ster-Kinekor on 17th July and book your tickets now.

Cheers!!!

Movie Review - Life of Crime (2015)

Hi Guys,

Life of Crime (2015) is a situational crime comedy directed by Daniel Schechter who has earlier directed "Supporting Characters" in 2012. Life of Crime stars Jennifer Aniston, Isla Fisher, Will Forte, Yasiin Bey,  Mark Boone Junior, Tim Robbins and John Hawkes. The movie is based on the 1978 novel names "The Switch"  by Elmore Leonard.
The movie is a story about two persons trying to make some quick by kidnapping a real estate business tycoon's wife but they never knew that he is going to file for divorce soon. Even the wife character played by Jennifer Aniston doesn't know of the same. He has fallen in love with another girl who eventually helps the criminals with a right strategy to turn the tables around. What happens and how that happens as they try to make the best out of each situation along with various other characters with their own selfish reasons makes this situational comedy a worth watch. The acting of both the thugs played by Yasiin Bay and John Hawkes is the only motivation to see the movie though Jennifer Aniston has tried to bring the charm back on screen. Isla Fisher looked good and classy in several of her scenes and brings a fresh perspective to the movie.

The movie is very slow as events happens at slow pace and is set in 1980's backdrop. I didn't liked the movie that much as these days you see some fast paced action happening in other movies which keeps your adrenaline going and this one has no such thing in the same. If you have the patience to watch the slow paced movie, you will enjoy the same a lot. The movie got released on Ster Kinekor and MonteCasino last week.

Cheers!!!

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Jul 2014

Hi Guys,

July is always special for me as it's my birthday month and last year I received my Samsung NX300 Mirrorless camera by virtue of winning #MissionSamsung Bloggers Community Challenge which gave me wild card entry into the finals of the same.

This was my first attempt to make a poem parody and I was happy to write the same too.

2. Launch Event - AUGUSTINEGold @ 26 June 2014 - http://www.thelifesway.com/2014/07/launch-event-augustinegold-26-june-2014.html This was the first event party that I attended in Johannesburg from any other brands and I really liked the view from the top of Reef Hotel Elevate club.

3. South African Bloggers - Meet #MissionSamsung Community Challenge Winner - http://www.thelifesway.com/2014/07/south-african-bloggers-meet.html This was the interview that got published on WeBlogForLove - Sandile Nene's esteemed blog and I really loved answering the questions. I am still looking for sponsors to my blog and can give then numerous tweets/mentions and posts for their gadgets or sponsorships.

4. Fly in the Rain - http://www.thelifesway.com/2014/07/fly-in-rain.html Another attempt at the poem after which I don't think I have ever tried it again till now.

5. Movie Review - The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman (2014) - http://www.thelifesway.com/2014/07/movie-review-necessary-death-of-charlie.html Thought the film didn't do well on the box-office but I liked the movie a lot. It was an adventure journey in some part of Europe and I really enjoyed watching the movie.

Life is full of surprises and your thinking  keeps on changing from time to time but the values which you adore/admire hardly changes. As I complete my 35 years of existence on this planet Earth, I have enjoyed myself and tried to enjoy every momemt as it came. I am hopeful and celebrate life as I start the next part of my journey with full vigor and enthusiasm. I love my friends, family and parents thought this first part, I have never told them so but in the next half I will do so a lot.
Cheers!!!

Movie Review - The Duff (2015)

Hi Guys,

The Duff (2015) is an American comedy film directed by Ari Sandel. The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Kody Keplinger. DUFF is full form for Designated Ugly Fat Friend which as they said is the part of every group of friends. Duff is the kind of person, people will go to be friends with the famous ones in the group. People exploit them to be with their good looking friends who are more popular.

The Duff stars Mae Whitman who has acted very well and whom you remember from the Independence Day movie where she played the daughter of the President. The movie is all about her and Robbie Amell has also played a crucial role along with others like Skyler Samuels, Bianca A. Santos, Bella Thorne, Ken Jeong and Chris Wylde. Robbie Amell looked great in all his scenes and brings a lot of comic into his act.

The movie will remind you of the Mean Girls (2004) which starred Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried. The Duff is different from the earlier teenagers movie as it's more current with more adult dialogues and inclined towards being mature kind of comedy. But nevertheless the movie will keep you laughing throughout till the end and then the same old story of longing and getting together again kicks in some emotional drama. Also this is the first film Lionsgate releases after taking over CBS Films distribution network.

It's a good watch for one time if you are into teen kind of comedies. But there is nothing new that the movie offers in 102 minutes other than a great actress in the making which is Mae Whitman. Go for her!

This movie is releasing in Ster Kinekor on 1st May 2015. Book your tickets now. More info on twitter and facebook.

Cheers!!!

Movie Review - Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) #AvengersJozi #DisneyAfrica

Hi Guys,

The Avengers are back in the circle once again to save the world they love the most. The movie has really great action and story building throughout the 141 minutes. You will never feel bored and will always be glued to your seats till the end of the movie. I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it as some of the secrets were reveled and new ones were created in this part. I really loved the action sequence the movie opens up with and slowly it led to the introduction of something called Ultron made by our very own Iron Man and Hulk along with J.A.R.V.I.S. This is another MARVEL in the great gems from the house of Walt Disney Studio Motion Pictures.

I think the movie is going to break records created by Fast and Furious 7 in South Africa as #AvengersJozi has a great fight sequence between Iron Man and Hulk shot right in the center of Central Business District, Johannesburg. Even my office at 45 Commissioner Street was clearly visible along with the Johannesburg City Library/ Johannesburg City Hall Complex and nearby areas along with the signboard clearly visible for Harrison Street. Jo'burg people will really love watching their beloved city from the skies and a lot of action happening on the ground. This is one of those moments we all cherish to remember the spots we have seen in person to appear on big screen with our favorite MARVEL comics characters. The characters also travels to Seoul, South Korea and shows quite a bit of the city during the course of the movie.
Avengers: Age of Ultron to me appears to be a combination of The Avengers meeting Transformers and X-Men coming together to save the world from human extinction. The characters are shown fighting with machines as it happens in Transformers and people have unique powers that so much happens in X-Men. The new characters that were introduced and how they became Avengers eventually is what you need to know from watching the same in the theater near you. The movie has some romantic moments and emotions thrown in too as well as some of the fun part where everyone tried to pick Thor's Hammer Mjolnir.

The movie is written and directed by Joss Whedon. The action sequences are really nice and new Avengers characters have been introduced in the movie. The movie features a long list of actors which includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Cobie Smulders, Anthony Mackie, Hayley Atwell, Idris Elba, Stellan Skarsgård, James Spader, and Samuel L. Jackson.

The movie is releasing on 24 April 2015 in Ster Kinekor and you can watch the premier shows as well as preview shows also on 23 April 2015. The movie is best to be watched in 3D to enjoy the most and it's a value for money and time. I totally fell in love with this part and will watch it again with my family and friends. The movie is totally entertaining and go watch it on big screen for it's sheer viewing pleasure and to watch the powers of all The Avengers in action.

The movie builds the logic for the start of the next part of the series to be released in the years to come called Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 & 2. Movie is releasing in Ster Kinekor on 24th Apr 2015. Book your tickets now. More info on twitter and facebook.
