Kandasamys: The Wedding @ShowmaxOnline #Comedy #KandasamysTheWedding

Hi Friends,

It's the biggest fear of people to create the success of the first book or movie or whatever they excelled in the first part. It takes courage and a lot of faith in one's capabilities to create the same success to be well accepted by the public reading or watching the creation. Keeping up with Kandasamys became South Africa's best picture in terms of showcasing the South African Born Indian community living in Chatsworth, Durban. The second part of the same Kandasamys: The Wedding got released on 18th April 2019 but unfortunately I could not watch the same in the theatres. Showmax has not launched the movie on its online platform and I watched the same yesterday.

The second part also features the same star cast as it's the continuation of the love story between Prishen (Madhushan Singh) and Jodi (Mishqah Parthiephal) as now the preparations for their wedding is the central theme of the second part and to the main day. As it happens in most families the preparations are the hardest part as the families start preparing for all the arrangements and there will be friction between the groom and the bride's families as they want the best for their kids.
#TheLifesWayReviews - Kandasamys: The Wedding @ShowmaxOnline #Comedy #KandasamysTheWedding
The father of Prishen is replaced in this movie and the rest of the cast is similar to the first part of the movie. It's been played by Yugan Naidoo as Preggie Naidoo, Shanthi Naidoo is played by Maeshni Naicker. The Kandasamy family is played by Jailoshini Naidoo as Jennifer Kandasamy, Koobeshen Naidoo as Elvis Kandasamy and above all Mariam Bassa as Kaunam 'Aaya' Kandasamy. They all have acted greatly and fit perfectly in their characters. The scene where Aaya uses the Germs mask can be called as the premotion of Covid19 as now everyone is wearing a mask to save themselves.

As I was expecting a lot from the movie, I was not able to enjoy this part as much as the first part. Some scenes are nice but the overall movie is lacking the feel and vibe of a great script. The director Jayan Moodley tries to showcase the stressing elements in the newlywed's life before the marriage and during the parts of the ceremonies but it was difficult to do in a comical way. The parts between the Rushil Juglall as Arsevan and Tesarnia Oree as Poobasha are totally unnecessary as they are not only boring but brings nothing to the overall comical value in the picture and are totally irritating.

The locations used from Durban and nearby areas are amazing and I totally loved watching those and some of the places I have missed, I have noted down to see in my next trip to Durban. If you have not been part of the Kandasamy's do bing watch it on Showmax in continuation with the first part on this coming weekend and enjoy the Durban Bunny Chow moments. It won't give you as much pleasure as Hum Aapke Hain Kaun but it's worth your time (127 minutes in total) to attend a local South African Indian Wedding.  RATING 3/5

Howick Falls in #KwaZuluNatal #SA #PhotoYatra #TheLifesWayCaptures

Hi Friends,

Howick Falls is nearly 95m in height and Umgeni River water forms the main source of this fall. The beauty of these falls is amazing and KwaZulu Natal as a province is one of the most beautiful states with all its natural beauty.
Howick Falls in #KwaZuluNatal #SA #PhotoYatra #TheLifesWayCaptures
This comes when you are traveling from Johannesburg to Durban via N3 and there is a small detour of around 10km from the main road to get to the inside town of Howick and see this beautiful waterfall.
Howick Falls in #KwaZuluNatal #SA #PhotoYatra #TheLifesWayCaptures
This is the only fall where you don't have to walk more than 10-15m to see the same after parking your car. There is plenty of parking for at least 10 cars.
Howick Falls in #KwaZuluNatal #SA #PhotoYatra #TheLifesWayCaptures
The viewing area of the falls is right on the edge of the road and can easily be reached by anyone. There is plenty of shops and restaurants around the falls to get cold drinks, beers, etc.
Howick Falls in #KwaZuluNatal #SA #PhotoYatra #TheLifesWayCaptures
There are many local shops selling South African cultural key rings, collectibles and merchandise made by the local artists and villagers.
Howick Falls in #KwaZuluNatal #SA #PhotoYatra #TheLifesWayCaptures
This falls causes a lot of accidents and many people have died around this falls as you can see there is a community living right near the edges of these falls. Also, many people try to dive into the pool underneath and lost their lives because of hitting the rocks, etc.
Howick Falls in #KwaZuluNatal #SA #PhotoYatra #TheLifesWayCaptures
It was really great to visit these falls for the first time and there were free community washrooms that were clean. It was too hot weather when I visited the same and I immediately went to buy the cold drinks at the shop nearby. I also bought a copper bangle for myself to wear every day from the local shops along with some keyrings.

@TsogoSun Commemorates Decades of #Heritage and #Tourism in #Durban

Hi Friends,

Renowned as one of South Africa’s top tourism destinations, Durban has long delivered excellence for both holiday and business travel, with golden beaches, a year-round warm climate, a wide range of entertainment options and conference facilities, a diverse and vibrant culture, and world-class accommodation. In honour of Tourism month and Heritage Day in September, Tsogo Sun (https://www.tsogosun.com/) is commemorating its growing investment in the city’s tourism offering over the last five decades.
@TsogoSun Commemorates Decades of Heritage and Tourism in #Durban
Tsogo Sun currently boasts seven hotels and two resorts from Umhlanga in the north to uShaka Marine World in the south, as well as the area’s leading entertainment destination, Suncoast (https://www.tsogosun.com/suncoast-casino). The group’s nine properties together offer 1 958 rooms, 13 restaurants, eight bars, and a myriad of other facilities and amenities. For decades, when South Africans think of holidays, Durban is the top of mind city – and Tsogo Sun’s hotels have continued to tick all the boxes for ideal accommodation, the best ocean views, the finest restaurants, and the easiest access to the city’s beautiful beaches.

Tsogo Sun’s Durban heritage began with the opening of the Beverly Hills (https://www.tsogosun.com/beverly-hills) in Umhlanga by Sol Kerzner in 1964. From this, Southern Sun was born in 1969, and in 1971 the group’s first new hotel was built, The Elangeni, on the Durban beachfront, which was followed by the iconic five-star Maharani. In 1981 Umhlanga Sands Hotel was bought and the Southern Sun Timeshare concept was launched, which subsequently included Cabana Beach Resort. Garden Court Marine Parade opened in 1985 with a distinctive art deco feel, and then Garden Court South Beach, previously Malibu Hotel, joined the family. In 2002 the group invested a further R1.4 billion into the Golden Mile – the single largest investment by any private company – with Suncoast Casino, Hotels & Entertainment, adding two hotels (Suncoast Towers and SunSquare Suncoast) and an array of entertainment, retail, gaming, fast-food and restaurant options. The ninth hotel, Garden Court Umhlanga, opened in 2010, and in 2013, Tsogo Sun transformed two of its beachfront hotels into the massive 734-room Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani hotel (https://www.tsogosun.com/southern-sun-elangeni-maharani).
@TsogoSun Commemorates Decades of Heritage and Tourism in #Durban
Ravi Nadasen, COO of Tsogo Sun hotels, says, “Tsogo Sun is proud of our position as a key role player in the Durban economy. Our continued investment into our local properties is a reflection of our strong confidence in the area as an attractive leisure and business tourist destination, and in the eThekwini Municipality’s significant efforts to ensure the beachfront promenade is a world-class attraction for local and international travelers.”

Tsogo Sun’s latest investment in Durban is a complete redevelopment of Suncoast at a cost of R1,6 billion, which will be fully completed by end 2018 and includes an additional 8,000 square metres of space, a newly located Salon Privé with sea views, eight new restaurants, retail outlets, casino space, parking, a Barnyard Theatre, and a multi-purpose event venue for up to 2,000 people.

The eThekwini Municipality is also continuing its city improvement projects, which include the Point Waterfront Promenade Extension scheduled for completion in 2019, and a new KwaZulu Cruise Terminal to be constructed in the Port of Durban by end 2020. Apart from its extensive tourism offerings, Durban is South Africa’s third largest city, built around one of the busiest ports in Africa and has the fourth largest harbour in the southern hemisphere, and has earned its reputation as a dynamic mecca of business and industry.
@TsogoSun Commemorates Decades of Heritage and Tourism in #Durban
Nadasen adds that the group has recognized the city’s vast potential for growth and is committed to helping the city ensure it achieves its full potential as the best event city in South Africa, offering a rich playground of activities, hospitality, and events. “Our investment in Durban is directly in line with Tsogo Sun’s vision to provide the greatest possible variety of quality hospitality, leisure, gaming, and entertainment experiences at every one of our destinations.”

Philip Sithole, Deputy City Manager Development & Planning says, Tsogo Sun has contributed to changing the Durban skyline through their investment in key strategic tourism products which are key in ensuring that our tourism thrives. “Over the years the economy of Durban has benefited enormously from this partnership as it continues to shape the landscape of the city’s offering whilst complementing our vision of making Durban the must-visit destination.”

Tsogo Sun has a portfolio of over 100 hotels and 13 casino and entertainment destinations throughout South Africa, Africa, and Seychelles. For more details, visit https://www.tsogosun.com, follow on Twitter @TsogoSun or like on Facebook.com/TsogoSun.

@TsogoSun Amashova Durban Classic Launches 160km Route #CycleRace

Hi Friends,

South Africa’s oldest classic cycle race, the Tsogo Sun Amashova Durban Classic, has been reinvented with the inclusion of a 160km route for the first time in its history. This year also marks its recognition as a race of international significance, through its inclusion in the Gran Fondo World Tour.

In an announcement made on 11th April 2018 at the Joburg VIP launch of this year’s Tsogo Sun Amashova Durban Classic, Race Director, Annie Batchelder commented, “We are really excited about adding the very challenging 160km route to our already popular 106km, 65km, and 35km race distances. Not only will the Tsogo Sun Amashova be one of the very few races in South Africa to offer this kind of extreme distance, but the hills and the overall profile of the Richmond area will, in its own right, push the limits of the brave cyclists prepared to take on the challenge.”

The new 160km route will have the same starting point as the 106km route in front of Pietermaritzburg’s City Hall but cyclists will do an additional 44km loop via Richmond before re-joining the famous Comrades Marathon route from Pietermaritzburg to Durban.
@TsogoSun Amashova Durban Classic Launches 160km Route #CycleRace
The announcement that this popular annual Durban-based race will form part of the Gran Fondo World Tour was met with much excitement. According to organizers of the Gran Fondo World Tour, the Tsogo Sun Amashova race will close off the 10-event tour, which takes place over eight months on four continents. The Gran Fondo World Tour offers a substantial prize purse of $25 000. The Tsogo Sun Amashova Durban Classic will also be the first and only race in the prestigious ten race line-up to be hosted in Africa.

“As the title sponsors, we are committed to ensuring that the Tsogo Sun Amashova remains one of the most attractive cycle races, both for South Africans and for avid cyclists beyond our borders. We believe the new 160km route and the Gran Fondo World Tour announcements provide even more reasons for cyclists to enter this challenging and scenic race. These developments are extremely exciting for the City of Durban and the KZN region from a tourism perspective, with the potential to have a positive economic impact on the region,” says Ravi Nadasen, COO of Tsogo Sun hotels.

Batchelder added that apart from these two main announcements, there are several other new developments cyclists and spectators can expect this year. This includes a healthy living and cycling Expo that will see a number of top brands, products, and services showcasing their goods to the public prior to race day. The venue for this year’s race number pick up and late entries have also been changed to the conveniently located Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani Hotel on Durban’s beachfront.

@TsogoSun Amashova Durban Classic Launches 160km Route #CycleRace
Although the Tsogo Sun Amashova Durban Classic is regarded by competitive cyclists as an important event on their cycling calendar, it’s also gained a reputation as a wonderful event for social cyclists. Entries are open to anyone with a bike. Tailored corporate and charity packages are available and for more information contact can be made with melissa@amashova.co.za.

One of the much-loved aspects of the race that hasn’t changed is the full road closure on one of the most picturesque and challenging routes from Pietermaritzburg to Durban. The day will also still lend itself to the overall enjoyment of cyclists and spectators alike with fantastic food and festivities to be had on the route as well as live music and an array of food stalls offered post-race on the Suncoast Casino Hotels & Entertainment lawns.

@DEFY_SA Believes In Better For #SouthAfrica #FutureLegends #FCBarcelona

Hi Friends,

DEFY has always been a brand that is deeply committed to enriching the lives of South African people, with a particular passion for uplifting the nation’s youth. To commemorate DEFY’s historic campaign partnership with FC Barcelona, South Africa’s number one appliance brand plans to change the lives of three local learners through their Future Legends initiative. In order to invest in South African talent and create an unforgettable experience for three lucky learners, the search is on for South Africa’s next football legend in Durban, East London, and Johannesburg.

This initiative is spearheaded by footballing legend and Kaizer Chiefs alum, Jimmy Tau. Over three months, Jimmy Tau will be hosting coaching clinics at three provincial schools to assess the skills of aspiring soccer youths, as well as address the learners participating to motivate them to have their sporting dreams become a reality. The selected schools will initiate their own #FutureLegends day, where the school's sports facilitator will host a playoff or heats in age groups from 10 to 13. The criteria for selection will be guided by Jimmy and his team. One future legend will be selected from each province, and together they will be placed in a one-year incubation program to further develop their skills.
@DEFY_SA Believes In Better For #SouthAfrica #FutureLegends

This is where these future legends’ lives become truly exciting. Once the incubation program has kicked off, these three rising stars will be flown off to Spain to watch FC Barcelona play a Champions League match live. The three finalists will also have the opportunity to be flown to Johannesburg to spend the day with Jimmy Tau and experience behind the scenes of SuperSport. The journaling of these aspiring soccer stars will be documented via video diary so that everyone may share in their excitement.

According to Cherisse Erwee, the Head of Marketing for DEFY South Africa, this initiative believes that it is this commitment to the local heritage that has made DEFY the well-loved brand it is today. “It is of huge importance that DEFY, as an organization, consistently gives back to our communities. Our ethos as a brand is to create happy, healthy and sustainable lives through constant innovation, and empowering and uplifting our youth is just one of the ways that we aim to achieve this goal.”

Watch DEFY make dreams become a reality by following the hashtag #FutureLegends. The winners will be announced in August.
