Acer Predator Orion 9000 Series: Power You Can See
Designed to intimidate enemies and inspire game play, the commanding aesthetics of the Predator Orion 9000 series feature a black-and-silver spacecraft-like exterior with customizable RGB lighting along the sides of the front bezel. A massive side window panel showcases the remarkably striking and powerful interior with a design that keeps electromagnetic interference (EMI) levels in check despite the size of the opening. The Predator Orion 9000 series feature liquid cooling and Acer’s IceTunnel 2.0 to keep the temperature down while the game heats up. IceTunnel 2.0 is an advanced airflow management solution that cleverly separates the system into several thermal zones, each with an individual airflow tunnel to expel heat. Huge metal mesh panels on the front and top allow more cold air in and the rising hot air of the liquid-cooled CPU out, while up to five 120 mm fans in the front, top, and back channel cool air through the chassis. Part of the airflow is redirected towards the back of the motherboard tray to cool the storage devices. The graphic cards feature blower-style fans to drive the heat out from the back, while the PSU is self-contained to avoid thermal interference.

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Aug 2016 #TheLifesWay

August is the month which sees a lot of new smartphones getting launched and last year too there was some of the new technology was launched. Also, it brings in a lot of Indian festivals along with the Independence Day of India on 15th August. This was the first time I attended the flag hoisting ceremony at the Consulate General Office in Johannesburg, South Africa. 

1. @SamsungSA Unveils New #GalaxyNote7 Intelligent #Smartphone that Thinks Big - - It was unfortunate that the smartphone I love the most was not able to work last year. I was also not able to attend the launch event last year due to the office meetings. This year too, Note 8 launch I was not able to make it to the event but hope the best for this amazing phablet. I would love to own one of the Note series smartphones as my primary phone.

2. @HuaweiZA Outperforms The #Smartphone Industry #Financial Results #HY2016 - - Huawei as a brand has grown at an extremely amazing pace and they brought some great smartphones to the market in the last 2-3 years. I have never used the latest P9 to P10 to Mate 9 somehow but I like the Leica dual-lens monochromatic lens as it can really gives your creativity an edge to capture some great moments.

3. #BeoVision14 Picture Perfect HD TV @BangOlufsenSA #LikeNoOneElse #Craftsmanship - - Bang and Olufsen is an experience that brings your senses to fall in love with the technology. I attended a demonstration of the TV at the Melrose Arch store and was totally amazed to see this latest technology. The only thing is the price of the product is way above my affordability range. 

4. Mythos Launches Bespoke #Restaurant: #Nostimo Waterfall Estate #Johannesburg - - Mythos launched this property and the PR company said they will call me at the launch event but I was not. Many times it has happened that I get nothing in return for many of my posts which is a sad state of affairs. Brand shall never forget that there is nothing free as it takes a lot of time to post the posts and share them across all social media channels. 

5. If ‘Gandhi’ Was Made In #2016 @ZeeClassic #Movies #Remakes - - This is a good comparison of who will be the Cast if Gandhi movie is being directed again. Though this post is one from the Indiblogger IndiOne marketing campaigns I really loved the same. 

In the end, I would simply like to state that the brand shall respect the time and efforts it goes in the social influence but I do respect the money and efforts they also do to call the influencers to their launch events. It's a simple give and takes exercise and I always work towards creating more ROI for the brand when they invest in me.

Disney unveiled a global photographic campaign in support of #DreamBigPrincess celebrating inspiring stories from around the world to encourage kids everywhere to dream big. Nineteen female photographers from fifteen countries have created a series of empowering images showcasing real-world girls and women, as part of Disney’s Dream Big, Princess initiative launched in 2016, which taps into the power of Disney Princess stories to inspire kids. Photographs will be shared on social media to help raise funds for Girl Up, the United Nations Foundation’s program supporting adolescent girls’ leadership and empowerment.

From one of the first female staff photographers at National Geographic to winners of the International Picture of the Year, World Press Photo Award for Nature, Commonwealth Photographer of the Year, and a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News, the accomplished roster of photographers bring a wealth of experience and talent. Each was challenged to find and document stories with the power to inspire kids.

With subjects including the youngest ever speaker at the UN, a gold-medal-winning Chinese Paralympian, the founder of the first female cycling team in Bamiyan, Afghanistan, a teenage author of a STEM coding book for kids, and a young surf champion from Brazil, the project aims to spotlight a diverse range of stories to connect with kids and families around the world. The images bring the #DreamBigPrincess message to life in a multitude of ways, including highlighting women who’ve achieved success in the face of adversity, young Girl Up Teen Advisors who’ve already helped make a positive impact on the world, and girls at play who illustrate the importance of imagination in childhood.

As well as inspiring kids with positive images and the stories behind them, the campaign aims to make a tangible difference for girls who face challenges in achieving their dreams, through its collaboration with Girl Up. From August 15-October 11, 2017, Disney Worldwide Services will donate US $1 for any public post of a photo using #DreamBigPrincess or like of such a post on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, for a minimum donation of US $500,000 and a maximum of US $1 million. Girl Up’s leadership program engages girls to take action and advocate for girls around the world, giving them empowering tools to help make a difference.

Girl Up Teen Advisor alumna Meg Schwartz, was given the chance to follow her dream of becoming a professional photographer by creating images of Girl Up celebrity Champions, including YouTube influencers Brooklyn & Bailey, actress Katherine McNamara as well as philanthropist and actress Monique Coleman. Meg’s images will be shared as part of the campaign to help raise funds for Girl Up.

Low-Skilled Roles Limit Women and #SouthAfrica in Moving Forward - Sigal Geva @Premier_Hotels

Women’s Month, marked annually in August, gives pause for reflection on the state of gender equality and its impact, especially in light of this year’s theme: The Year of OR Tambo: Women United in Moving South Africa Forward.

This is according to Premier Hotels & ResortsChief Operating Officer, Sigal Geva.

She continues, “The latest Global Gender Gap Report, published annually by the World Economic Forum (WEF), has ranked South Africa at 15 out of 144 other countries in terms of its level of gender parity. While strides have been made in closing the gender gap, it will take 60 years for economic parity to be achieved. A factor impeding this is the predominance of women in low-skilled roles within the country’s labour force. This is evident within the tourism sector, where women make up nearly 70% of the industry’s workforce but hold less than 40% of all managerial positions, fewer than 20% of general management roles and only between 5% and 8% of board positions, according to the Department of Tourism.”

Minister of Tourism, Tokozile Xasa, has previously stated that, although the tourism and hospitality sector has become an economic and social phenomenon - demonstrating above average growth since the 2009 economic crisis and being set to create 70 million new jobs over the next 10 years, women continue to be marginalised in this lucrative sector. To address this, she launched a campaign earlier this year, dubbed WiT 30in5, to increase the proportion of women in tourism management positions to 30% in the next five years.

“Unfortunately, South Africa is not alone in its gender parity issues. For instance, the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) has found that in the Australian hospitality industry, women earn 10.9% less than their male counterparts and only 9.8% of CEOs are women,” adds Geva.

She says: “It is baffling that this is still the status quo both in South Africa and other countries around the world, given that studies have shown that having women in high ranking positions has a positive impact on organisational performance and profitability. For example, research by Catalyst - a non-profit organisation with a mission to accelerate the progress of women through workplace inclusion - found that Fortune 500 companies with the highest proportion of women on their boards performed significantly better than firms with the lowest. What’s more, the Peterson Institute for International Economics found a correlation between more female leaders in top leadership positions and increased financial profitability in their analysis of 21,980 firms in 91 countries.”

“With PwC’s Hospitality Outlook: 2017-2021 noting that tourism is one of the fastest-growing sectors of the economy and the World Travel and Tourism Council forecasting that it will contribute R412.2 billion to the country’s gross domestic product this year, and R624.2 billion by 2027, will South African women be adequately included in this growth trajectory and indeed be united in moving South Africa forward?” concludes Geva.

@MontecasinoZA Teatro Celebrates 10 Entertaining Years @TsogoSun #Jozi

It has been an exceptional first decade for Montecasino’s Teatro, with an unprecedented over 3.8 million people attending shows ranging from concerts, ballet, musicals, opera, and international jazz to ice shows, comedy, revues, and more, since it first opened its doors in June 2007 with a highly-acclaimed production of Disney’s The Lion King. The iconic show ran for nine months and is still the longest running show in South African theatre history.

Bryan Hill, who has been at the helm of the Teatro as its General Manager since before its opening, says, “The Lion King was the perfect show to kickstart the theatre, and I believe it contributed to the Teatro’s ongoing success.” He adds that the Teatro is all about entertainment. “It’s not about heavy art. It’s about taking our minds off everyday worries and walking out of this theatre smiling.”

The decade has seen the Teatro play host to 145 productions, totalling 2 666 shows watched by 3 856 624 people, always staying steadfastly true to its original strategic decision to be a family entertainment venue with broad-based appeal. It has been part of the evolution of the theatre industry in South Africa, giving rise to new and undiscovered performing arts talent and providing a catalyst for growth in the industry .

Hill notes that over the years, determining which shows would win audiences and which wouldn’t has not always been an exact science, but three that always guaranteed full houses have been South Africa’s own Johnny Clegg, Hugh Masekela, and The Parlotones.
