The full single releases worldwide on August 21st, serving as the lead release from Celina's upcoming EP, Chapter 2, which arrives August 28th.

Shershaah is a Hindi movie based on real-life war events that happened in the life of Captain Vikram Batra during the Kargil War who received the highest Military medal for a distinguished act of valour during war times - Param Vir Chakra. There are only 21 military persons who have received it to date. The movie was released on the Amazon Prime Video platform on 12-Aug-21. The movie is directed by Vishnuvardhan and this is his debut Hindi movie. You remember him from various great South Indian movies in Tamil and Telugu languages like Kurumbu, Pattiyal, Billa, Panjaa and many more. He also acted in some Tamil movies too. The movie is written by Sandeep Srivastava and produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Metha, Ajay Shah, Shabbir Boxwala and Himanshu Gandhi. The production companies behind this biographical drama are Dharma Productions and Kaash Entertainment. The movie is 135 minutes long and can be watched with the family and going to inspire the next generation for sure. 

Shershaah stars Sidharth Malhotra as Captain Vikram Batra and Kiara Advani as his fiance - Dimple Cheema. The movie starts with the war scene and slowly goes into the flashback to showcase the childhood memories of Vikram as told by Vishal Batra who is the younger brother of Captain Vikram on a TEDx stage.  The movie shows the confidence of Vikram from early childhood in a family of 6 with his father and mother as teachers and 2 elder sisters. A reference to the show named Param Vir Chakra is made which inspired him to join the armed forces. Sidharth looks really good in all his scenes with or without an Army uniform. Kiara looked really beautiful as a Sikh girl. The only thing which I noticed is that they were not that comfortable with speaking the Punjabi dialogues. The songs are also in Punjabi language but I loved the music as it sets your heart buzzing. 

The initial story shows Vikram chasing Dimple in the university and trying to win her heart. He reminded me of Shahrukh Khan like a charm in DDLJ as he tries to use his charm in every day to day conditions. He then proposes her and faces the problem from her family as she is Sikh and he comes from a Hindu family. Meanwhile, the story moves as he becomes undecided because of various people choices in his family and surroundings. It's a copy-paste of the scenes from Lakshay another movie from the Kargil War. I felt in many scenes that I am rewatching Lakshay with less budget/graphics and not so great character actors. We have Nikitin Dheer, Himmanshoo Malhotra, Anil Charanjeett, Raj Arjun, Rakesh Dubey, Abhiroy Singh, Ankur Sharma, Atul Verma and many others in various army men roles. 

Vikram Batra reaches his first posting at Sopore, Jammy and Kashmire and the movie shows how he uses his charm to main friends with his Army colleagues and local Kashmiri people too. Using his sharp skills he saves the life of his immediate boss Captain Sanjeev Jamwal played by Shiv Pandit. He slowly wins the trust of even his Lt. Colonel Y K Joshi played by Shataf Figar. Just before the months of the Kargil war, he visits his home and meets Dimple and his best friend Advocate Amit Sood played by Sahil Vaid. Certain quotes as played in the original TEDx talk by Vishal Batra are shot with Sidharth and used in the movie. If you don't want to spend time watching the movie, then I recommend watching the TEDx talk. Some of the character actors in the movie doesn't look like army personnel and the production house could have taken some good versatile known actors to make this movie much better. This is the reason I mentioned that this one is a limited budget movie as compared to Lakshay. 

This movie has some good scenes in the end when Captain Vikram Batra's body is brought to his hometown and that part will bring tears to your eyes for sure. Also, the initial love story and the song thereof is also good. The movie dialogues are not that great to bring inspiration whereas most are taken from Captain Vikram Batra's life which you all know from the newspapers and Barkha Dutt's interviews. A lot of them are there in the TEDx talk by Vishal Batra who is also played by Sidharth Malhotra (identical twin brother) and you will get that from the voice at the start of the movie but the director tries to hide it till the end and only shares the real photos in the end. The interview that made Captain Vikram Batra popular is also shown where he narrated Yeh Dil Maange More! and that is the same thing we wanted as an audience with some good actors also working along with the main hero/heroine. 

The story had the potential to being something like Uri: The Surgical Strike to bring the great spirit of nationalism but somehow lags behind. I don't think it's on Sidharth or Kiara, it's more of the character actors who were not given enough context and could not perform up to the levels of Sidharth and Kiara. Even Shiv Pandit who played the role of Lord Shiva awesomely well in another web series on Netflix named Selection Day doesn't fit well in this movie. Overall this movie is a one time watch as it celebrates the life of Captian Vikram Batra and I really loved the 5 songs whose music directors are Tanishk Bagchi, Jasleen Royal, Vikram Montrose, B Praak and Javed-Mohsin. I can also say that this one is the best movie of Sidharth Malhotra and in some of the scenes, he displays the boy like charm as seen in Sushant Singh Rajput movies too. Shershaah is the code name given to Captain Vikram Batra during the Kargil war to communicate back to the base camp with Chanakya Lt. Colonel Y K Joshi.

Hi Friends, 

DIAL 100 is the latest Bollywood movie released on the ZEE5 OTT platform released on 6 Aug 2021 starring Manoj Bajpayee, Neena Gupta, Sakshi Tanwar, Nandu Madhav, Urmila Mahanta, Svar Kamble and many others directed and written by Rensil D'silva. The movie is just 104 minutes long to keep you on the edge of your seats as the mystery unfolds in this new thriller. Sony Pictures Films India and Alchemy Films are the production houses behind the movie along with Siddharth P. Malhotra and Sapna Malhotra. Music is provided by Raju Singh and dialogues are written by Niranjan Iyengar. 

Manoj Bajpayee plays the role of Senior Inspector Nikhil Sood who works in the department who handles all the calls of the police department when someone dials 100 and that's how the name of the movie comes from. His wife is played by Sakshi Tanwar as Prerna Sood and his son Dhruv Sood by Svar Kamble. There are some tensions showcased in the family but only later do you get to know what's happening. 

Neena Gupta is the caller named Seema Pallav and she has her own reasons to take revenge on the Sood family which is shown subsequently. How she gets into the system and tries to teach Nikhil and her family a lesson is what this movie is about. The acting is powerful as the star cast is really strong from Manoj to Neena to Sakshi Tanwar. How Nikhil is able to save his family and also fights the police system himself is what this movie is all about? Can there be a change of heart for Senior Inspector Nikhil Sood if someone has been wronged by the Police Department and loses their loved ones? 

The movie is a one time watch for Manoj Bajpayee and Neena Gupta's acting. You will enjoy this ride as the caller slowly reveals her real motives and how the training and experience instincts of the Senior Inspector kicks in to save his family? What I liked is that there is something different in this movie as compared to the regular police drama. Here the focus is on the systems and police networks to check on the persons in calls using all the latest technology at hand. Also with great power you can also save your loved ones but can't control the fate or series of events that will happen in your life. Will you fight against your own system or department if you feel what your heart is telling as compared to what your seniors and mind is telling you are some of the questions the movie will leave you with?

RADHE: Your Most Wanted Bhai is the new Bollywood movie (13 May 2021) starring Salman Khan, Disha Patani and Randeep Hooda, Jackie Shroff which is released by Zee5 as well on Zeeplex where you can get a years subscription to the Zee5 online platform for only R499 including the ticket to the movie. Basically, this is to promote subscription to the online platforms which Salman is able to bring or not depends on the fans and if they still have time to watch movies during these tough times of Corona. 

Radhe shows the superhuman strength of Salman Khan in the introduction sequence that he beats all the resources of Parvesh Rana but suddenly that power is not so great when he hits the gangs of Randeep Hooda who only has 2 people along with him. Salmaan Khan has delivered only a limited number of dialogues in the movie which also doesn't leave any impact and you must have seen those in his previous movies also. Disha Patani's acting is totally over and she doesn't look compatible with Salman's character. There is too much of an age difference that doesn't suit them. Moreover, her elder brother is played by Jackie Shroff which looks more like her dad as compared to the brother. 

Coming to the other characters in the movie are two rival gangs where one local gang leader start yelling as soon as he sees Randeep Hooda without any logic, he totally fails in his act. The other one is played by Sudhanshu Pandey who gets killed soon and doesn't have much to play. The whole team of gangs is beaten up badly by just 3 people of Randeep Hooda's gang which have reached from Delhi to Mumbai and wants to now run their drugs business there and earn a lot of money. His style of work is killing first and talk later and a lot of bloodshed is shown in the movie reminding of the Tarantino movies.  

The songs are nice but the dance is not as good as Allu Arjun's movie and that's the only part that is entertaining in this movie. I don't know why he keeps showing his locket in his dance sequences, the locket must have brought good fortune in his life but to us, it doesn't matter at all. The movie has its ups and downs and as in all the latest launches, social media is shown to be the main taskmaster and to be used to bringing change in society. 

The movie is directed by none other than Prabhu Deva and is based on the movie The Outlaws by Kang Yoon-sung. The movie is produced by Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, Atul Agnihotri and Nikhil Namit. It's 114 minutes of fun or torture you can decide for yourself. The music is by Sajid-Wajid, Himesh Reshammiya and Devi Sri Prasad and there are only 4 songs with a total length of around 15 minutes 34 seconds. This is one of the movies you will enjoy if you are a Salman Khan fan but there is nothing new in the story and you will only enjoy the acting of Randeep Hooda as you will feel the fear of death if he is in front of you. Salman has always looked great on-screen and in this movie also he looks dashing and handsome.

Mimi is the latest Bollywood comedy-drama movie available on Netflix Online Platform released on 26-Jul-2021 and has an unusual star cast which will arouse your curiosity to check out the story of the movie. The movie stars Kriti Sanon in Mimi Rathore's lead role, an aspiring dancer and actress in the local village. Manoj Pahwa and Supriya Pathak play the role of her father and mother respectively named in the movie as Mansingh and Shobha Rathore. Then we have the man who needs no introduction and can bring any script alive with his acting skills and the real concern for the cause of the story - we are talking about Pankaj Tripathi as Bhanupratap Pandey who plays a taxi or cab driver for rich foreign clients touring in Rajasthan. A special mention also goes to Sheikh Ishaque Mohammad as Aatif playing as one of the Mansingh's students who is learning music from Mimi's father. His dialogues bring in the necessary comedy at the times when the movie is going a little bit too emotional and keeps the overall pace of the movie intact. 

The story is about a couple from the USA looking for a surrogate mother from India in exchange for money and all they want is a healthy kid from a healthy mother who is fit in all regards. Bhanupratap finds Mimi who wants to go to Mumbai to become an actress and wants some money to shoot a music video or to shoot a portfolio of her pictures to get started in the Bollywood film industry. The international couple is played by Evelyn Edwards as Summer and Aidan Whytock as John. The best part is that Summer knows Hindi and speaks it really well. Mimi's best friend is Shama, played by Sai Tamhankar, a student of his father's music classes and sings at the stage and dance shows where Mimi does the dance performances. Somehow Bhanupratap coerces Mimi into agreeing to become a surrogate mother while taking help from Shama as well. The three musketeers then take on the world on this adventure that will change their lives forever and this is the movie about that journey that happens in the next 9 months or so. 

Mimi is a movie about a girl's emotions as she goes through being a mother and all the changes that happen in her body. It's a complicated process and any bad news negatively impacts the mind, body and soul of not only the child in the mother's womb but the mother and the family similarly. The American couple decides one day that they are not going to adopt the kid as the unborn child must have some kind of down syndrome. This news breaks Mimi and then everyone advice about dropping the child but there she held her belief despite everyone going crazy around her. This story is about the support she gets from her parents, Shama and Bhanupratap. 

The kid is born and comes out to be a normal one with a complexion not matching Bhanupratap or Mimi. There are some nice comedy scenes at that point in time. Bhanupratap is situationally told as the father of the kid by Mimi to her parents which brings in much more comedy. Bring in his original wife and mother into the story and you will fall from your seats. Meanwhile, the kid is born and getting raised bringing much joy to the whole family. A small younger kid born into the family brings everyone together as they gel all of them to love and take care of him or her. The young boy is played by Jacob Smith as Raj Rathore. 

In the end, the American couple returns to take their kid and there is some high-level emotional drama as Mimi takes some heartbreaking decision which is not agreed by the family members. Mimi is definitely worth watching with the whole of your family and it's a refreshing story which you must have not seen earlier with a good mix of comedy and certain factors of society throw into the script and story. Kriti Sanon has outdone herself and she is no longer a glam doll as shown in other movies. The music also is great and is given by the all-time greatest - A. R. Rahman. There are about 7 songs and released by Sony Music India. The director of the movie is Laxman Utekar who did Luka Chuppi with Kriti Sanon earlier and as I read and heard Luka Chuppi 2 is also in the making. This film is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Jio Studios. Have some time this weekend and watch Mimi on your Netflix OTT Platform. RATING 4.5/5

Hi Friends, 

Hungama 2 marks the Priyadarshan's comeback to Hindi movies along with Shilpa Shetty who also came back to Hindi cinema after many years. The movie is based on the Minnaram which is a Priyadarshan movie released in 1994 in the Malayalam language. The movie stars Paresh Rawal, Shilpa Shetty, Ashutosh Rana, Pranitha Subhash, Meezaan Jafri, Rajpal Yadav, Tiku Talsania, Manoj Joshi, Akshaye Khanna, Raman Trikha and many little kids. Venus Worldwide Entertainment company produced Hungama 2 and it was really great to see the names of Ratan Jain, Ganesh Jain, Chetan Jain and Armaan Ventures. 

The movie is directed by Priyadarshan and the story is also written by him. The movie was released on 23-Jul-2021 on the Disney+ Hotstar OTT platform. The movie also has the famous hit Chura Ke Dil Mera Song from Main Khiladi Tu Anari recreated especially for this movie. Anu Malik composed the music for this movie and lyrics were written by Sameer and Rani Malik. The song is picturised really nicely and is the main attraction of the movie. The movie brings back the whole team of character actors you must have seen in other Priyadarshan movies. 

The story revolved around a family run by the grandfather Ashutosh Rana character as Colonel Govind Kapoor who has 2 sons and a daughter. Sons are played by Meezaan Jafri as Aakash Kapoor and Raman Trikha as Aman Kapoor and Naira Shah as Preeti. There are some 4 kids who live with their grandfather and calls him Junglee Bail and are really naughty kids bringing in much pain for all their teachers played by Johnny Lever as Tutor Gagan Chandra D'Costa and other family members. Pranitha Subhash as Vani Kapoor enters the home with one small girl and claims that this is the child of Aakash Kapoor with whom she fell in love during the college days and the baby is from those times. Meanwhile, Col Govind has already promised the hand of Aakash for Manoj Joshi's daughter. The whole family now tries to find the real father of the daughter meanwhile no one trusting Aakash leading to a lot of situational comedy along with his engagement ceremonies thrown in. Slowly and steadily, Vaani captures the hearts of all the small kids and other family members and all of them sides with her as compared to Aakash. 

Paresh Rawal plays Advocate Radhey Shyam Tiwari and his wife Anjali Tiwari is played by Shilpa Shetty. He is very possessive about his wife leading to a lot of misunderstanding that keeps on going till the end of the movie. He thinks that Aakash is having an extra-marital affair with Anjali and tries to protect his wife from him at all costs. The whole sequences of Paresh Rawal are really amazingly funny and make this movie worth watching. Rajpal Yadav has played Popat Jamal character who works in the canteen in the college where Aakash and Vaani used to study. Aakash uses him to get rid of Vaani and the same gets caught by Col Kapoor. Tiku Talsania as Cook Ojasram Nandan has played his role just like he used to play in all his movies in his career but it was good to see him back. 

Pranitha looks really beautiful and her character has been picturised as a mysterious one whose real intentions are not shown till the end of the movie. Meezaan has yelled in the whole movie which gets your nerves really high and is unbearable to watch. The same can be said about Ashutosh Rana's character as well as Manoj Joshi's character of Manasvit G. Bajaj which keeps yelling throughout the movie. The movie fully belongs to Paresh Rawal who has done his acting superbly and you will feel the pain he is going through. 

Overall, Hungama2 is a movie you can watch with your whole family and is a family entertainer with a few mysterious spices added to the situational comedy. If you can go through the pain of yelling and loud dialogues from some of the characters, then you can enjoy the movie which has all the flavours Priyadarshan movie brings to the cinema. This movie really feels like coming out from the past and brings back all the memories of my childhood/adulthood when Priyadarshan movies used to be the talk of the town. Watch it to live your childhood memories! RATING 2.5/5

Hi Friends, 

Zee5 OTT platform is bringing a lot of fun content to be watched by all the viewers and brought this comedy-drama movie after the action thriller Radhe starring Salman Khan. The Zee Studios produced movie stars Vikrant Massey and Kriti Kharbanda as the main couple Sanju and Aditi respectively between whom the concept of 14 Phere is being played. Basically, the families are not in support of their love marriage as they belong to different states and castes so the whole office staff comes together to create fake relatives and attends the marriage twice in two states once in Bihar and once in Rajasthan. I totally loved watching the movie and the small nuances the protagonists go through to make it all happen. 

Sanju and Aditi's fake parents are played by Gauahar Khan as Zubina and Jameel Khan as Amay. Both are theatre artists and they are coaxed into playing this once in a lifetime opportunity to play once Sanju's parents and once Aditi's parents. The movie is directed by Devanshu Singh and written by Manoj Kalwani. Both have been able to capture the details as it goes in the marriages and the demands in both the states. The song where the bride is introduced to the Bihari rituals is really heart touching and you will feel the love a mother-in-law has for her daughter-in-law. 

The movie was released on 23 July 2021 on the ZEE5 platform and runs for around 111 minutes. The story has everything which you want from a movie and can be watched with all the family members together. Vineet Kumar has played the real father of Sanju as Kanhaiya Lal Singh who is facing a lot of trouble to find his daughter who ran away with a groom of her own choice. Yamini Das plays the wife of Kanhaiya Lal as Sarla Lal Singh. During all this running from one state to another, there is a lot of chases when you will feel the couple will get caught but somehow they manage to escape from both the families. 

The movie has really good music which goes along with the story really well and the same is composed by Rajeev V Bhalla and JAM8. Vikrant's acting needs no introduction, as he brings the ease and calmness the character of the main hero needs. Kriti looks beautiful especially as the bride and acted her role perfectly well. This is one movie you should not miss and this is like a fresh breeze of the rains during this time in India. The story is fresh and you will enjoy this situational comedy. The last few minutes are really over the top and could have gone for crisp editing but overall you can leave your logical brain behind and enjoy this comedy movie named 14 Phere. Go for it! RATING 3.5/5

Hi Friends,

Netflix released Gunjan Saxena The Kargil Girl, a real-life biopic on the series of events in the life of Flight Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena as she becomes India's first female combat pilot in the Kargil War on 12th August 2020. The movie is 1hr 52 minutes long and the lead character is played by Janhvi Kapoor and she does her part well to tell the story of a girl who wants to fly a plane to getting enrolled into the Indian Air Force and then facing the men led environment where there are no female toilets too. Janhvi Kapoor looks cute and beautiful and played her role really well but I don't think she will be able to become the likes of Kareena Kapoor or Vidya Balan or Kangana Ranaut, but that's for the time to decide and let's focus on the movie on Netflix.  

The movie is directed by Sharan Sharma and produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, Zee Studios and Apoorva Mehta. It's difficult to produce a movie which has to showcase any kind of Armed Forces and in some of the scenes, the whole drama looks fake and not real. The film is again fully on the person who can take any movie towards something people will enjoy - Pankaj Tripathi plays Anup Saxena - Gunjan's father who really gives her equal rights in his family and gives her a choice to do whatever she wants to do. The father-daughter relationship is the best that you will relate to and the scenes between Janhvi and Pankaj are awesome. 

Angad Bedi plays the big brother of Gunjan - Anshuman Saxena who is also a soldier in Punjab Regiment as shown in the movie and tries hard to save his sister from the harsh realities faced in the forces and tries to bring it to her awareness. Ayesha Raza Mishra plays Kirti Saxena mother of Gunjan and brings some comical moments in the movie. Vineet Kumar Singh plays the role of Flight Commander Officer Dileep Singh and Manav Vij as Commanding Officer Gautam Sinha. It's the second time Vineet is seen in the role of a soldier after playing one in Betaal web series which is also Netflix production. Angad Bedi tries to look convincing but is not able to do so. The music is composed by Amit Trivedi and the songs suit the movie but nothing worth remembering. 

The trailer really looked promising but the overall execution is not that great is what I felt. The other  IAF officers don't look real at all. The story is great but the overall direction could have been better. The movie should inspire young generations. The movie is definitely a one time watch but won't make an impression other than just being the love between father and daughter and the overall family. Overall, you can watch the movie this weekend to see what were the hurdles faced by the real Gunjan to join IAF under the SSC and thereafter to protect the country. RATING 3/5

Door Ke Darshan a Bollywood Comedy movie which is now available on Netflix digital platform and is really a great watch if you remember the era of 1990s when the only channel we used to have was National Broadcaster's DoorDardarshan and it was a unique experience which was really great. It would not broadcast all day giving you time to work and play, will have programs scheduled every week, Chitrahaar used to come on Wed and Fri, News used to come every day at 840pm and some of the serials made stars using this special platform like Shah Rukh Khan and many more. 

Door Ke Darshan stars Manu Rishi Chaddha as the Sunil Bhateja aka Cheeku who stays in a rented house along with his mother Darshan Kaur played by Dolly Ahluwalia and 2 kids. His wife is played by Mahie Gill and she has left him and living with her family near the Jama Masjid area in New Delhi. The kids are played by Shardul Rana as Sunny and Archita Sharma as Sweety. Darshan Kaur is in a coma since the past 30 years but family takes care of her and one day she shows some signs of improvement after listening to the name of Bimla. Doctors advise the family members to don't give her stress and they try to make it look like 1990. The family immediately transforms her room to look like those time and it is really hilarious and nostalgic to watch all those technology and stuff which is no longer used and is being replaced by new technology. 

The owner of the house is Goldy played by Rajesh Sharma and his wife Geetu is played by Supriya Shukla and their daughter Twinkle is played by Mehak Manwani who is also the love interest of Sunny. Goldy does have his eyes on Sunil's son and it creates a lot of hilarious moments in the movie. Sunny's best friend is played by Sumit Gulati as Pappi who is the one who says the name of Bimla and they both didn't tell anyone who is Bimla till the end when it is revealed to the audience.

The movie brings back a lot of nostalgic moments recreated by the kids and the family as they try to cover up all the mistakes. The older ones are made to wear school uniforms and walk like kids. The kids of the house are turned to become help and maid. They try to create DD news and many other things which makes you rolling on the floor. Manu Rishi Chaddha does her part really well and superb acting by Dolly Ahluwalia and she is really the heart and soul of this movie. Mahie Gill looks beautiful in the movie and the Shardul and Sweety have really played their roles well and suits in their characters. Mehak is a bright star and is already signed for big movies and web series. A whole song is picturised on her in the movie. The movie is directed by Gagan Puri and produced by Ritu Arya and Sandeep Arya. Music is from Meet Bros and it was released on 28th Feb 2020 but is now available on Netflix for your viewing pleasure.

Overall, it's a 119 minutes of comedy movie that will bring back all the memories people relived when Ramayan and Mahabharta were shown during the COVID-19 times and also all those stuff we used to use from wired telephones to alarm clocks to radio to cassette players. This is definitely a movie which you should watch with your family and enjoy the Door Darshan. RATING 3.5/5

Hi Friends, 

Raat Akeli Hai is the new crime drama movie which was released on Netflix on 31st July 2020 and is directed by Honey Trehan. The movie stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte and Ila Arun in a powerful performance which also has Shweta Tripathi, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Swanand Kirkire, Nishant Dahiya and Aditya Srivastava. 

The movie is a murder mystery of Raghuveer Singh played by Khalid Tyabji on the night of his second marriage to Radhika Apte. The whole family and relatives go quiet about the murder and bring in a small town cop Inspector Jatil Yadav to solve the case played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. As the investigation progresses, he comes to know that he has already met Radha played by Radhika Apte as she tries to run away from her parents some 5 years ago. Around the same time, Raghuveer Singh's wife and the driver are also killed by a mercenary. 

The crime drams is really fast-paced and slowly unpacks the mystery behind the murder and the other selfish motives of all the characters one by one. Jatil Yadav falls in love with Radha as he is a bachelor whose mother played by Ila Arun always tries to find a suitable bride for him wherever she goes. The scenes between Ila Arun and Nawazuddin are really funny and the dialogues are really good.

The crime-solving capability and character of Jatil Yadav are tested as the whole system is against him and doesn't want him to solve the case as the family is against the outsider Radha who gets the share in the property due to her marriage with Raghuveer Singh. They want to put the blame on her and looking for an opportunity to throw her out of the house and may kill her on the way. The locations look really real as the movie is shot in Lucknow and Kanpur. 

The film never felt like it's limited budget release or digital platform release but made on the scale of a full feature film and rises way above the other feature film releases too in recent times. The acting of Radhika Apte and Nawazuddin Siddiqui is amazingly great and the tension building between them is great to watch. Raat Akeli Hai has a rugged and rustic look to the whole drama and it feels really real and believable. 

The movie is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Abhishek Chaubey and written by Smita Singh and is available on Netflix to watch if you have not seen yet. This movie is 1000 times better than the last released movie of Nawazuddin named Ghoomketu on the ZEE5 digital platform. If you are a fan of Nawazuddin you should not miss this Singham style fun without beating anyone, killing anyone or any other un-necessary macho action. RATING 4/5

Hi Friends, 

It's been a while that I have written about some of the movies and TV series I have watched and today I got the time to write about the same. Disney+ Hotstar is bringing a lot of great entertainment which includes some 7 Bollywood movies which are going to be showcased exclusively on this OTT platform as a part of their Multiplex Initiative. The one I was waiting for is Lootcase which stars Kunal Khemu, Gajraj Rao, Vijay Raaz, Rasika Dugal and Ranvir Shorey in main roles. 

The story is a common middle-class hard-working man who toils day and night to earn a meagre living and not able to fulfil his family wishes of going to Shimla and Water Kingdom. Kunal Khemu plays his character really well as Nandan Kumar who is married to Lata played by Rasika Dugal and they have a son Aayush played by Aryan Prajapati. His life changes when one night after completing his duty at printing press he found a suitcase filled with 10 Crore Rupees and a file which he was not aware of till the end belonging to a Minister Patil played by Gajraj Rao. The series of events that happens after he gets the bag and tries to hide it from everyone is what makes Kunal Khemu's acting unique and brings back a lot of memories from Hum Hain Raahi Pyaar Ke where he was a small naughty kid. 

Meanwhile, Vijay Raaz plays a gangster who also is after the bag named Lootcase by Nandan along with the Cop Madhav Kolte played by Ranvir Shorey. Vijay Raaz promotes a lot of National Geographic Channel and wildlife in this movie and each scene will be etched in your memory for a lifetime. Gajraj Rao plays the perfect cunning and selfish minister who knows how to turn events into his own favour. All his dialogues are very well written and overall the movie dialogues is something that the writers took time to write and are worth every penny. 

Fox Star Studio is the production house behind this 132 minutes of situational comedy directed by Rajesh Krishnan and story is written by Kapil Sawant and Rajesh himself. The movie also has some good background music and you should definitely watch it with your family this weekend. In the end, this movie has three strong pillars which will entertain you the most - Kunal, Vijay and Gajraj. The small kid Aryan too is entertaining in his scenes and Rasika has played her role well and though this one is released on Digital Platforms but has all the parameters of a great movie. The ending though is a shortcut taken and reminded me of Ek Chalis ki Last Local. RATING 3.5/5

Hi Friends, 

Shimla Mirchi is a situational romantic comedy and a light-hearted movie that you can enjoy with your family. Shimla Mirchi stars Hema Malani as Rukmani, Rakul Preet Singh as Naina, Rukmani's daughter, Kanwaljit Singh as Tilak, Naina's father, and Rajkummar Rao as Avinash. The movie also stars Shakti Kapoor, Kiran Juneja, Kamlesh Gill, and Dharmendra in a special appearance along with Ramesh Sippy. The movie is written, produced, and directed by Ramesh Sippy himself and was distributed by Viacom18 Motion Pictures. The movie was released in theatres on 3 January 2020 and was soon available on Netflix's online platform and app. 

The movie is really great to watch once during these lockdown times as it brings light-hearted comedy and the acting of Hema Malini needs no introduction. It's really a pleasure to see her live on screen in this movie and Rajkummar Rao has acted just like he does in every movie - perfect to the character. Rakul looks beautiful and her screen presence brings a lot of cuteness and charm on the big screen. The songs are okay but not worthy of remembering and the music is composed by Meet Bros Anjjan. You should definitely watch the movie this weekend on Netflix's digital platform. The story is not so different as it shows the love story of a boy fallen in love with a girl and works as a waiter at her restaurant despite being fully educated and a third angle is introduced when the mother thinks that the boy loves her but the situation is used just like it used to be in Priyadarshan movies but overall you won't waste your 2 hours watching this fun ride in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India. RATING 2.5/5

JAI MUMMY DI @NetflixSA #Movie #Comedy #JaiMummyDi

Hi Friends, 

Jai Mummy Di is a romantic comedy movie which got released in Indian Theatres on 17th January 2020 and I watched the same on Netflix some days ago. The movie stars Sunny Singh as Puneet Khanna and Sonnalli Seygall as Saanjh Bhalla in the lead roles whereas their moms are being played by Supriya Pathak as Laali Khanna and Poonam Dhillon as Pinky Bhalla. The movie is directed by Navjot Gulati and is produced by T-Series and Luv Films whereas it's distributed by YRF - Yash raj films. 

The movie doesn't offer anything new and most of the characters are left hanging without any roles to play other than the moms and the main lead characters. The movie doesn't offer anything which you have not seen in any of these kinds of movies where the kids fall in love with each other whereas the parents are enemies and in this movie the mothers of the lead pair are in the fight with each other. The only thing new is the double meaning and adult jokes installed in this version of the movie. 

Sunny Singh looks smarter than the lead heroine Sonnalli and acted well. Vineet plays the younger brother of Puneet and is played by Veer Rajwant Singh and the scenes between them are superb. The fathers in the movie didn't have much to do and their roles are not defined at all, they are played by Rajendra Sethi and Danish Hussain. The moms are the main strength of this movie who have played their roles great. The movie is only due to their acting performances and expressions. Supriya Pathak has played her role in TV serial - Khichdi so well that the image is so difficult to take it out in any other setup. 

The movie has tried to cash in on the Pyaar Ka Punchnama series and other movies from Luv Films as all their stars show cameo appearances in this movie too. Alok Nath also plays an important character Sanju Luthra after whom the mothers fight over during their college time and then played by Varun Sharma (Fukrey fame). 

The songs are okay and some of them you will like too especially Dariyaganj sung by Arijit Singh and Lamborghini by Neha Kakkar and Jassi Gill. Overall the movie doesn't offer in its 103 minutes of your time. You can watch it one time on Netflix online platform and forget about the same if you like any of the film stars those act in this film or if you belong to Ghaziabad or Delhi NCR as you will see some of the locations you will identify with. RATING 1.5/5

If ‘Gandhi’ Was Made In #2016 @ZeeClassic #Movies #Remakes

With its proposition of 'Woh Zamaana Kare Deewana', Zee Classic is India's only Hindi movie channel that endeavors to recreate the magic of iconic classics and new age cinema by showcasing not just the films that shaped Indian cinema but also acquaint viewers with the creative talent who were a part of that timeless era. In order to mark the occasion of India’s 70th year of independence, Zee Classic premieres One of the most iconic films of all times, Gandhi (1982) was produced and directed by Richard Attenborough and written by John Briley. Starring Ben Kingsley, Rohini Hattangadi, Edward Fox, Roshan Seth, amongst others. The story is that of an Indian lawyer who returned from racially segregated South Africa to drive the British out of his home country through successive acts of non-violent protest. The portrayal of how simplicity and the power collectivism can throw over a whole British empire bringing them to their knees.

As Zee Classic gears up to premiere ‘Gandhi', this Saturday, on 13th August at 8 PM in ‘India’s Finest Films’ and on Monday, 15th August at 9:30 AM, we wonder who would be a part of this classic if it was to be re-made in 2016!

1982 : Sir Richard Attenborough had the ability and talent to accommodate a person’s entire lifespan in a couple of hours. He did a phenomenal job right from the research to bringing alive the legacy of the father of our nation on big screen.

I am sure when you will see the movie on the television on these dates, you will certainly feel that these are some of the right choices that can help us recreate Gandhi in 2016.
