Planning Our #RoadTrip to the #GardenRoute With Parents @Travelstart #PE #CapeTown #Johannesburg

Hi Friends,

It was my parent’s third trip to South Africa and this time we wanted to show them Cape Town for sure but as we started planning for the same, an idea came to travel the Garden Route as we also have not seen the same since we are here in this country from the last 5 years. Earlier, I wanted to buy Honda BRV to take on this trip and during that time the car was going around 20k ZAR on sale too. I was adamant to take my own car on the Garden Route trip. After getting approvals of leaves from office, we started planning the distance and cities to stay during the trip and found that it will be difficult if we start traveling in the car from Johannesburg to Port Elizabeth and then back from Cape Town to Johannesburg.
Planning Our #RoadTrip to the #GardenRoute With Parents @Travelstart #PE #CapeTown #Johannesburg
Also, my parents were against the car travel as my father suffers from vomiting in the closed space of the car and also we will need to take some breaks to cover 1200km and it will at least take 12 hours to reach Port Elizabeth in best case scenario within road speed limits. My wife told that it’s better we check an early morning flight from Johannesburg to Port Elizabeth and then a late evening flight back from Cape Town to Johannesburg. I have never booked a domestic flight within South Africa so asked some enlightened people who travel a lot. They all said book from Lanseria Airport, flights are cheaper there, book on this website and that website, on this day or that day but here I was totally confused during the weekend finding it difficult to book flights and accommodations as per our confined dates of the trip.
Planning Our #RoadTrip to the #GardenRoute With Parents @Travelstart #PE #CapeTown #Johannesburg
Travelstart came to my rescue early morning when I came across some random post on Facebook and thought of using the same when we all sat for final bookings of places to stay and flights. My first thing was to book flights because if we don’t get flights we won’t get go ahead. My wife’s first preference was good accommodation for the extended family with kitchen specifically as we had a 1-year-old baby with us too along with my vegetarian parents. So my mom and she started looking at accommodations and she started booking them closest to the locations we intended to stay and paying them using her card and email id. I and dad were busy with flights and passport numbers to be entered and age details with right times to start from OR Tambo or Lanseria Airport and finally decided to go with Travelstart website to make our final bookings. My overall experience of using the website was awesome and I am really looking forward to using some great travel trips with them from their packages section.
Planning Our #RoadTrip to the #GardenRoute With Parents @Travelstart #PE #CapeTown #Johannesburg
The overall final itinerary looked like
Flight to PE from Johannesburg: At 6:50am in the morning (2hrs)
Early Check-in at PE and Overnight Stay in PE
2nd Day - Travel to Plettenberg Bay and stay for 3 nights
5th Day - Travel to Pearly Beach and stay overnight
6th Day - Travel to Cape Town and stay for 3 nights
9th Day - Evening flight to Johannesburg (2hr 30min) and reach home by 11pm

It was a total of 1650km for 9 days rented car with all the most visited places seen and captured in memories and images with no traffic fines and no tension to the driver and relaxed Garden Route for everyone in the family!

Cheers!!!

13 Ways To Help You #Snap Like A #PRO @LGMobileSA #LGPlayMore

Hi Guys,

Cartier-Bresson is widely regarded as one of the greatest photographers of all time and once said, “To photograph is to hold one’s breathe, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It’s at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy.” LG's latest flagship, the G5 gives users the opportunity to fully experience the joy of photography. Here are 13 ways to get you snapping like a pro.

1. Accessing the manual mode
One of the best ways to start capturing those significant moments with the LG G5 is by accessing the manual mode. To access the manual mode, you’ll have to tap the 3-dot icon at the top-left of the screen, which brings up the three main modes: Simple, Auto and Manual. The manual mode allows you to control the white balance, focus, exposure, ISO, shutter speed and AE-L. The white balance allows you as the user to alter the colour tone, compensating for unnatural lighting or to create skewed colour effects. The purpose of the ISO is that it determines the sensitivity of the sensor. When choosing darker environments to take pictures, you will need to use a higher setting. The AE-L, locks the exposure, letting you use the light level as a creative effect, making shots either much brighter or darker than the G5 would normally use.

2. How to use manual mode to get noise free shots
All you’ll have to do is set the ISO to 200 (it goes down to ISO 50), then use the shutter speed control to see how slow you need to go for low-noise results. The benefit of using the G5 is that it has optical image stabilisation (OIS), you can make the shutter go fairly slow and still get sharp photos.

3. Shooting RAWs
RAW files are what you get when you take the 'raw' information from a camera sensor, before reducing the noise level and smoothing things out. Using RAWs allows you to do your own processing, often ending up with a finer detailed image. The G5 allows you to shoot RAWs by simply accessing the manual mode and tapping the second icon from the bottom of the screen, over on the left column. This will allow for the shooting of RAW and JPEG files, rather than just JPEGs. RAWs come out as a file known as DNG (Digital NeGative file).
LG G5 #Smartphone #Camera #Thelifesway #photoyatra
4. Using the second camera as "zoom out"
The G5 has dual cameras (16 MP f1.8 main camera has 78-degree angle view and the 8MP additional camera captures a 135-degree super wide-angle image) to take your digital photograph to the next level. It has a new, unique feature like pop – out photo, capturing more with the zoom out. In the camera app you can switch between lenses via a button, and when using the digital zoom the camera switches seamlessly between the two modules. The autofocus is assisted by a laser that measures the subject distance.

5. Use the main camera for the best image quality
The 16MP wide angle camera of the LG G5 is the best Android camera on the market giving users a fish-eye effect in every shot. What it means for the users is that the camera allows you to fit much more of the scene into a single photo.

6. Changing photo and video resolution
Should users want to play with different size images for that perfect selfie, they can switch to 4:3 or 1:1 images by tapping on the cog icon at the bottom-left of the screen and selecting the top option in the menu that pops up. As well as changing the shape of photos, they can also alter the video resolution. The G5 normally shoots 1080p video users can level-up to UHD (the exact resolution of '4K video').

7. Video stabilisation
For that perfect steady shot users can find the option for video stabilization near the bottom of the camera settings menu, which you access by tapping the cog icon. Tapping on this flicks between SteadyShot stabilisation and OIS, if you're using the standard camera lens in Auto mode. The former is what most phones use, a digital enhancer that uses the edges of the frame as a buffer to smooth-out any movements. This leaves you with a slightly more 'zoomed-in' view than you get when taking photos. That's one reason why you might use OIS instead, which uses the little camera stabilisation motor to keep your footage smooth.

8. Simple mode is great for simple photography
Simple mode is found by tapping the 3-dot icon at the top-left of the camera app. Simple mode takes away almost all custom features you get with the other options. All you do is tap on the object on which you want to focus and the LG G5 camera app both focuses and takes a shot as quickly as possible.

9. Shortcut key for instant photos
In the main phone Settings menu, go to the General tab and then select Shortcut key. In here you'll see a flick switch for Quick Shot. Make sure it's switched on. This lets you press the volume down button twice quickly when the phone is off to fire-up the camera and take a photo.

10. Timelapse + wide-angle camera = cool movies
The G5 has several 'creative' modes in its camera app and Time Lapse is one of the more interesting ones. This shoots video, but at 1/15 the normal speed. That means it takes two frames a second rather than the usual 30. Use this with the wide-angle camera and you'll get footage that resembles some of the stuff GoPros are used for in action sport footage.

11. Use the grid display for landscape photography
The G5 has a grid option to stop those uneven photos and help you align or center pictures properly. What it means for the user is that you get another reference point of where to line-up the horizon, as well as helping you work out what you want the focus of the picture/image/photo to be. You'll find Grid at the very bottom of the camera app Settings menu, accessed by tapping on the cog icon.

12. Use 30sec exposure to make something special
The G5 can keep its shutter open for up to 30 seconds. What it means for the user is that it merges all the light information from that half-minute stint into a single image. What one can do while using the 30sec long-exposure photography is shoot a road where car lights turn into streaming neon lines, and create noise-free night shots that almost look like daylight photos.

The G5 is the only Android smartphone on the market that comes with a series of module accessories (Friends) that fit onto its bottom and one in particular where users have been raving about is the 360 Cam. The LG 360 CAM provides 2K video and 5.1 surround channel recording on three microphones to help users effortlessly create high-quality 360-degree contents. Having secured a partnership with Google, images taken with the 360 CAM can be uploaded to Google Street View and YouTube360, adding the fun of sharing creative content with others.

5 reasons Why We #Love The #LGG5 @LGMobileSA @LGSouthAfrica #LGPlayMore

Hi Guys,

During the past few years LG has consistently pushed the boundaries of what’s possible with mobile technology. Whether its display technology, imaging or design, the company has always taken things one step further than its competitors and attempted to do “firsts” with its flagship releases. The latest release LG G5 Android has been a radical change in terms of what is expected from a smartphone. It boasts all the latest and greatest features, a metal sleek and stylish design, dual camera capabilities, and a removable and replaceable battery with expandable storage. With its innovative accessories, the G5 is undoubtedly everything that consumers want and need to enhance their mobile experience. Here are five reason why we love the LG G5.
LG G5 #thelifesway #photoyatra #Gadgets #Smartphone
LG G5 Display
The LG G5 has a 5.3 Quantum HD display technology, and it looks pretty amazing. It has a 2560 x 1440 Quad HD resolution, pixel density of 554ppi, constructed from magnesium and finished with a gorgeous matte finish. It is a compact device with an easy grip and sits perfectly where most users rest their index finger while holding it. The amazing double tap option is ideal for waking and sleeping the screen, which remains one of the favourite features on an Android smartphone. Another great innovation from the G5 is the “always on display” feature. It allows you to check the time, date, and see if you have any notifications without ever touching your phone.

Fingerprint Scanner
Implementation, feel, reliability, software and security all factor into making a good fingerprint scanner on a smartphone. LG abandoned the rear buttons from prior flagships in favour of a fingerprint scanner around the back. The volume buttons are back to the side, on the left, and the power button sits nicely under the camera. One tap and it wakes the phone and unlocks it in seconds. The G5 also has a fingerprint sensor on top of its power button, situated on the back of the phone. It’s a state-of-the-art fingerprint sensor that can read your finger quite quickly, without the need to press a button.

Diverse Range of Companion Devices
With the G5, LG introduced a paradigm-shifting smartphone ecosystem — the LG Playground. With this, LG aims to strengthen the ties with its partners and introduce various devices and supporting programs to fully maximize the LG Playground. As part of the ecosystem, LG is introducing a wide range of companion devices, aptly called LG Friends, to deliver fun while providing a new mobile experience far beyond traditional smartphone boundaries.
LG G5 Friends #thelifesway #photoyatra #Gadgets #Smartphone
Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Processor
The LG G5 is equipped with a powerful yet energy-efficient Snapdragon 820 processor which offers advanced features such as 64-bit performance, Adreno 530 graphics and lower-power Qualcomm® HexagonTM DSP as well as Qualcomm Spectra™ 14-bit dual image signal processors (ISPs). This advanced feature is designed to deliver high resolution DSLR-quality images and additional power saving.

Battery Power
The G5 is designed to deliver new and differentiated user experience through its innovative Modular Type design which offers the benefit of both premium metal uni-body design and a removable battery as an option. The bottom of the phone can be released to get a fresh battery inside, allowing you to extend battery life without ever connecting to a charger. Modularity has been the subject of many talks for a number of years but no brand was able to consumerise the concept until now and LG is happy to take on the mantle.

I am missing the LG G5 I had for review using which I took some of the photographs to win Instagram contest at Mall of Africa. I have not reviewed any of the LG Companion devices but would love to do so.

Product Review - BeoPlay H7 @BangOlufsenSA #BeoPlaySA #TheLifesWay

Hi Guys,

Bang and Olufsen needs no introduction in the niche audio market. The earphones and headphone gear they make is extremely great and expensive for those who love quality of sound that BeoPlay devices brings to the sensory organs.
I had a wonderful opportunity to review H7 headphones and simply fell in love with the same. I have used several headphones from all other brands but never felt so great listening to music via these headphones. For those who have paid around R7000 for a single pair of headsets without any active noise cancellation features etc. there must be something in the sound quality. I think at this price a user can easily go for Bose Active Noise Cancellation headphones and save around R1500 to buy Beats Sports earphones.
First thing that you feel when you open the packaging of any Bang and Olufsen product is the quality and detailing it has. It's an experience for which you definitely have to watch the un-boxing videos available on YouTube. I simply adore reviewing the niche products and the happiness it brings in opening a mint condition product or any product as you feel the excitement it brings. These over-ear headphones weigh only 280gram and can be carried around your neck while not in use.
I got the Bang and Olufsen H7 during the summer holidays and it was awesome to use them in office as there were no holidays for me in December last year. The leather touch and feel of the headphones is the best and premium. The headphones connects to your smartphones using the Bluetooth and has the option to use the 3.5mm headphones cable to connect.
The device has controls on the touch panel of the earphones by which you can control the volume along with next/previous/play songs. Its really good to use but will take a while to remember the gestures to use on the touch panel so as to perform certain functions. The on-off button is on the side to enable the bluetooth headpdhones. In case battery dies after long hours of play, then you can always listen to using the cables supplied along with the headphones. The best part is the Bluetooth 4.2 version (AptX and AAC codecs) which will reduce the connection loss and give the super speed premium audio experience even in wifi enabled noisy frequencies.
The quality is really great and we have seen that Band and Olufsen always write L and R on the ear cups and the same is true with these headphones also. The leather earcups are extremely comfortable to wear even for long hours. The sound quality is superb and all the songs and video's I watched using these gave me a complete surround sound experience. These headphones are also designed by Jacob Wagner along with various other from the brand including H2, H3, H6, H8 and Beolab 19.
These headphones have replaceable battery hidden in one side of the earcups and with cloth carry pouch these can be places in your bagpack to survive easily for several years giving you unlimited audio pleasure via its Electro-dynamic 40mm driver. The aluminium body adds to the matte look of the earphones and you can also use the Beoplay App to enhance the experience of using these headphones. I was not aware of the app in December and what it can do at that time so I am unable to comment more on the same. But overall these are the one Bang and Olufsen H7 headphones you can blindly buy if you have some R7000 to spend and you love to show off the type of audiophile you are and you won't be disappointed at all. Follow the brand on twitter

I think I am jealous of these Bang and Olufsen headphones as I don't have so much of money to buy the same and the review units also stays for shorter period of two weeks. I hope in future I will have one of these if Universe grants me when I deserve to have one.

Cheers!!!

@SamsungSA New #Televisions Beautifully Combine #Technology and #Aesthetics #ThisIsTV #SUHDTV

Hi Guys,

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of its new Super Ultra High Definition (SUHD) TV line-up, which combines the latest in cutting edge innovation and stunning aesthetics, in order to deliver a television that is not just a consumer electronics device, but an integral part of a home’s interior design.

The latest range of Samsung TVs has been released hot on the heels of the company’s triumph as global TV market leader for the 10th consecutive year, while also being in its tenth year of dominating the local South African TV market, according to one of the world's largest market research organisations, GfK
@SamsungSA New #Televisions Beautifully Combine #Technology and #Aesthetics #ThisIsTV
The new Samsung SUHD television series comes equipped with second generation Quantum dot technology, which is renowned for its durability and extraordinary, lasting picture quality. This generation offers increased efficiency of the Quantum dot materials and an improved colour mapping algorithm. This enables the new SUHD TV to express brighter pictures and purer colours.

Matthew Thackrah, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Consumer Electronics at Samsung Electronics South Africa, explains that the material used for this cutting-edge display can reproduce the purest and most accurate colours as individual nanoparticles. “These are smaller than one ten-thousandth the diameter of a human hair and deliver the cleanest and most vivid colours yet.”
@SamsungSA #SUHDTV #Thelifesway #photoyatra South Africa
“Samsung has applied the ‘HDR 1000’ technology to this device, which can present content with extremely high picture quality, as it expresses HDR with a peak brightness of 1000 nit - the standard for premium material produced in Hollywood,” says Thackrah.

“This allows viewers to enjoy visuals in great detail, whether the image is dark or bright. In addition, it can recreate brighter hues at a lower energy consumption than the first generation SUHD TVs.”

Thackrah adds that Samsung understands that while the demand for the latest generation of technology continues unabated, today’s TV is more than just an electronic device. Consumers today view TVs as pieces of furniture that contribute to a home’s interior décor.
@SamsungSA #SUHDTV #ThisisTV #thelifesway #photoyatra
“What consumers want is art in the living room – a beautiful TV that fits seamlessly with their living space and furniture. Samsung’s SUHD TV aims to deliver innovative, boundless aesthetic appeal with its 360-degree design, which ensures your television looks good from all angles and any position it is placed within the home. This design approach is not limited to just our premium models, but includes our entry-level TVs as well.”

Furthermore, the enhanced Samsung Smart TV platform allows users to enjoy a sophisticated Smart Hub powered by Tizen, which provides an effortless viewing and navigation experience as it transcends the boundaries between various TV user environments. The Smart Hub will auto detect all connected devices, such as decoders, gaming consoles or home theatre and audio accessories. These additions are managed through a centralised visual dashboard on the first screen, which requires the use of only one TV remote to control multiple connected devices, elimination the need for multiple remote controls in the living room.
Samsung #SUHDTV #SouthAfrica #thelifesway #photoyatra
“Samsung’s SUHD TV is a beautiful piece of equipment that takes a quantum leap forward in TV display technology. It will provide you with a viewing experience like you’ve never seen before,” Thackrah concludes.

I am currently using Samsung's UHD 65inch Curved Series 6 TV which is awesome and I wonder how beautiful it will be to see the video's and TV on SUHD TV. I still regret that I let go of SUHD Series 8 TV which I got from Samsung for the current one I have. That's the biggest mistake of my life so far...

Kudos to Samsung for bringing this amazing technology to the market.

Cheers!!!

@SamsungSA Elevates #Smartphone #Camera Quality With New Image Sensor #GalaxyS7

Hi Guys,

Samsung Electronics South Africa, a world leader in advanced semiconductor technology, announced its newest 12 megapixel (Mp) image sensor for smartphones, which will elevate the quality of mobile phone pictures. Already in mass production, this 1.4μm-pixel-based image sensor is equipped with Dual Pixel technology that has been reserved for digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras. The technology enables rapid auto-focus for fast photo shooting while producing premium image quality on mobile devices, even in low light situations.

“With 12 million pixels working as a phase detection auto-focus (PDAF) agent, the new image sensor adds professional auto-focus performance to mobile devices, such as the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy Note 5,” said Craige Fleischer, Director of Integrated Mobility at Samsung Electronics South Africa. “Consumers will be able to capture their daily events and precious moments instantly on a smartphone, regardless of lighting conditions.”
Samsung New Image Sensor #thelifesway #photoyatra
Samsung’s new image sensor with Dual Pixel technology employs two photodiodes located on the left and right halves of a pixel. The conventional image sensor commits less than five percent of its pixels, with only one photodiode each, which converts light particles into measurable photocurrent for phase detection. Significantly faster auto-focus is now possible, as each and every pixel of the Dual Pixel image sensor is capable of detecting phase differences of perceived light. With such groundbreaking improvements, the image sensor ensures clear and sharp images, especially whilst capturing moving objects, even in poor lighting conditions.

The new image sensor has also adopted Samsung’s ISOCELL technology, which isolates the photodiodes in each pixel with a physical wall to further reduce colour bleeding, maximizing the image sensor’s performance.

The new image sensor is built with cutting-edge, chip-stacking technology that allows for top-of-the-line performance while keeping the size small. The Dual Pixel image sensor combines a 65 nanometer (nm) sensor with a 28nm logic chip that delivers outstanding quality photos in a sleek smartphone design.

I am amazed at the camera of S6 I used last year and I have just received Samsung's S7 Edge for review and using that camera I will post pictures on my instagram channel.

Cheers!!!

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - June 2015 www.thelifesway.com #TheLifesWay

Hi Guys,

June in 2015 was the happiest month of my life as I was getting good response as I won the Mission Samsung Blogger Challenge. I got some amazing new gadgets to review and my blog pageviews started rising to cross 100,000. The weather is awesome during this time in Johannesburg but I fell sick with viral because I didn't took care of myself. With something new brewing up and with a lot of hope, I carried on in June 2015.

1. Product Review - @HuaweiZA MATE7 - Android Phablet - http://www.thelifesway.com/2015/06/product-review-huaweiza-mate7-android.html - I loved the phone/phablet and took some great pictures in Drakensberg using the same. This year also I will be posting the review of the new Huawei Mate 8 in June. I loved the performance of the smartphone and the brand has really taken the world in its arms.

2. @MercedesBenz_SA #BOKEH Fashion Film Festival - Johannesburg - http://www.thelifesway.com/2015/06/mercedesbenzsa-bokeh-fashion-film.html - Mercedes Benz has their second Fashion Film festival in Joburg and like the previous year, this one was awesome. Chefs had to make vegetarian food for me but it was super delicious. Also I made some new friends there which are still there for me after a year. Thanks to TsogoSun for inviting me to the event as I took some awesome pictures at the event.

5. @MicrosoftSA Art Exhibition #SeeTheBigPicture @SandtonCity - http://www.thelifesway.com/2015/06/microsoftsa-art-exhibition.html - Microsoft was one of brands that I loved last year and they loved me too. I posted a lot of reviews and attended several of their events last year. This year I have not been involved with any of their launches which I am surely missing. Looking forward to refresh the relationship with the brand.

This year I am working on building my posts to reach 1000 and cross 1Million in pageviews which I am sure I will be in the coming months. I have some new ideas to push my blog further so that brands invests their time and money in me. I am also thinking of starting on SnapChat as its already most trended social media channel now a days. Till that time I believe in the best for everyone!

Samsung Electronics South Africa’s latest flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, have been making waves in South Africa since its arrival in the country in March this year. The new, subtly gleaming Pink Gold colourway Galaxy S7 and S7edge is creating another stir. Created to take smartphones beyond advanced technology and into the realms of next generation art, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge integrate leading edge mobile computing with uncompromising, refined design that now also feature sophisticated colour options.

Samsung_Galaxy_S7_and_S7_edge_premium_design #TheLifesWayThe Pink Gold colourway is intended to soothe and incorporate a touch of gentleness, radiance and excellence to the smartphone. The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, including the Pink Gold colourway, are now available in a choice of five colours. These consist of Black Onyx, Gold Platinum, White Pearl and Silver Titanium.

“Samsung developed dust and water-resistant bodies without impacting on style and sophistication. Everything about the 5.1-inch Galaxy S7 and 5.5-inch Galaxy S7 edge speaks to premium design, comfort and streamlined ergonomic usability,” says Craige Fleischer, Director of Integrated Mobility at Samsung Electronics South Africa.

In Samsung’s quest to introduce more human-centred devices to the market, both in form and user experience, the company’s designers accredited their inspiration to pebbles washed by waves to seamless, solid perfection, always bearing in mind the ‘feel & touch user experience (UX)’ motto.

“Using 3D Forming glass technology shaped under immensely high temperatures, Samsung has moulded the curved glass and metal of the S7 edge to form a seamless, cohesive whole that feels uniquely smooth and natural in the hand,” Fleischer says. “Even the buttons have become thinner and the rear camera is slimmer, so as not to disrupt the contours of the device.”

Samsung’s innovations extend to the user interface, which is more intuitive, with a softened colour palette of app icons making it easier to view over an extended period of time. An Always On Display (AOD) function that shows the time, date and simple alerts even when the device is not in use. Edge UX, the advanced edge available on Galaxy S7 edge, provides convenience and increased efficiency by creating easy shortcuts to users’ most loved functions such as email, selfie mode, panorama mode or third party applications.

“When it comes to the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, Samsung has ensured that aesthetics are not compromised and thanks to this, fashion loving consumers have the opportunity to express their unique style through a device that epitomises flair,” concludes Fleischer.

Cheers!!!

Launched in 2006 by founder George Kutra, Mythos is a contemporary Greek-run restaurant with traditional spirit. The menu, which was crafted by George’s mother, Irene Kutra, includes a variety of delicious Greek dishes, including the likes of moussaka, pastitsio, soudsoukakia and kleftiko. Each Mythos chef learns how to perfect the family’s favourites from Irene’s in-depth training sessions and decades of experience in the kitchen.

“Our menu is all of our family’s favourite dishes rolled into one, giving our customers a contemporary Greek experience and a little piece of our heritage with every meal. I am proud to share my traditional family recipes and excited to be bringing them to the Mall of Africa,” said Irene Kutra.

The interior of the new restaurant was designed by Gys Van Graan who ensured a bespoke atmosphere, as is the brand’s approach to each of its restaurants.

“We aimed to achieve a contemporary version of the typical Greek restaurant, without compromising the warmth of Greek culture and tradition - and we achieved this by including natural materials such as timber and leather, brass elements, green walls and macramé details to enrich the interior with a touch of sophistication,” said Van Graan.

Housed in the Town Square area of the mall near Entrance 23, Mythos is open seven days a week and offers the ultimate Greek dining experience, by a passionate and hands-on Greek family. For more information visit http://www.mythos.co.za.

Product Review - BeoPlay H2 #Headphones @BangOlufsenSA #BeoPlaySA #TheLifesWay

Hi Guys,

Bang and Olufsen has been in the market since 1925 when the company was founded by Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen. The brand has been the pioneers in various products from time to time. The first headphones Bang and Olufsen introduced in 1978 was called U70 and forty years later they are leaders in the niche segment of headphones. They have collaborations with various computer, telecom and automobile brands to use their technology to enhance the end users audio experience across platforms. I have always been a great fan of earphones and headphones. I have bought so many and my luck is like if I win any twitter or facebook contest, the prize from that will be of headphones. Bang and Olufsen is one brand that is still not in my kitty but I would love to have the Active Noise Cancellation ones if given an opportunity.

Bang and Olufsen introduced H2 designer headphones in 2014 which are designed by Jakob Wagner. I got the review device to test and write about and as soon as I saw the device, I immediately liked it a lot. From the packaging to the end product, you get what you paid for. This one is priced at around R3500 in South African market.

BeoPlay H2 headphones are available in 5 colors namely Deep Red, Shaded Rosa, Carbon Blue, Silver Cloud and Feldspar Green. I was reviewing the Deep Red colored headphones and the packaging contains the headsets along with a cable with three-button remote and microphone. The buttons can be used to play and pause the track as well as to receive and reject the phone calls on certain iOS devices. The button can increase and decrease the volume also of the music being played.
Bang and Olufsen H2 Headphones c #thelifesway #photoyatra
Bang and Olufsen H2 weights only 155 grams and sits tight on your ears. They feel comfortable due to its design of the earcups made of genuine lambskin. The left and right is marked on the mesh design of the earcups. The length of the headphones can be adjusted using the push in and out design to sit on your ears. As H2 are On-ear headphones so it becomes a necessity to adjust them properly so as to get a nice noise isolation experience.  The headphones can be rotated to sit around your neck while not in use giving a necklace kind of style with earcups resting on your chest.

The other side of earcups is made of rugged textile which is also used to cover the top portions of headphones. This is the thing that brings color to these headphones. Though the cloth kind covers will be durable but are susceptible to dust, oil and water. They can easily get dirty if not taken  care or are touched while eating etc. It's this design that brings all the pleasure of buying and spending some extra money on H2. I was thinking that the packaging will also contain some kind of cloth bag to carry headphones around but nothing was included in the review unit.
Bang and Olufsen H2 Headphones e #thelifesway #photoyatra
The sound quality is produced using the 40mm neodymium magnets which give nice output and pleasure to the ears. Even at top of the volume option on my iPod Shuffle, there was no noise on the headphones. It performed nicely even at low volumes and audio was crisp and clear. The bass is not as much as Beats Solo HD produces but sufficient to give a nice surround sound effect. As they sit comfortable and tightly on you head and ears, they give immersive audio experience which takes you places in your music world.
Bang and Olufsen H2 Headphones f #thelifesway #photoyatra
In the end, I could not find much difference in audio quality from the cheaper Sennheiser headphone which are one fifth of the price and Bang and Olufsen H2. Though there is significant difference in the style and packaging of the product. There is definitely a market for audiophiles who wants to show what they are wearing around their necks and ears. Bang and Olufsen H2 will take you to an amazing new level of respect among your peers for not compromising on money to get great looking niche headphones. I would love to use these H2 as my day to day headphones and only thing I would love to get from Bang and Olufsen is Android cable included in the packaging and a canvas bag to carry these headphones if I am unable to wear them around my neck.

Cheers!!!
