Episode 2 – Protectors of The Park (16 & 18 June)

Huge strides have been made by those who have dedicated their lives to reducing poaching and growing the Lower Zambezi National Park’s wildlife and elephant populations, creating a thriving eco-tourism industry that stretches beyond the park’s unfenced borders. Increased local community engagement is necessary to create an environment in which humans and wildlife can coexist sustainably. This episode uncovers the symbiotic dance of conservation and ecotourism, illustrating how this intricate partnership not only safeguards wildlife but also sustains human livelihoods. Wild Zambezi. The battle for our world’s last nature strongholds has begun.

Episode 3 – The Changing Climate (23 & 25 June)

This episode explores communities living on the northern border of the Lower Zambezi National Park who are facing food insecurity due to climate change and turning to deforestation. A carbon credit project offers a solution to break this destructive cycle and provide alternative livelihoods. Protecting transfrontier corridors that are crucial in safeguarding ancient wildlife migration routes. But a mine in the Lower Zambezi National Park will most certainly put more pressure on the wildlife’s ability to seasonally migrate. Discover how to protect these last wildlife legacy landscapes and the corridors that so many species rely on.

Episode 4 – David & Goliath (30 June & 02 July)

Understanding the struggle of impoverished communities to the East of the Lower Zambezi National Park, it is easy to see why a mining project in the area would bring hope. Delving deeper into the Kangaluwi Copper mine, we look at its viability, potential environmental impacts, and how they got their mining license and environmental impact approval. As suspicions arise about the mining company’s motives, this episode reflects on ongoing efforts by conservationists, to improve the lives of those around the park. David Ngwenyama faces personal consequences, due to his involvement to try and stop the mine. Join him on his first and last visit to the park as he reflects on the severity of the situation. What precedent will this mine set for protected areas in Zambia, and Africa as a whole? There is still time to stop the mine.

Movie Review - @Avengers: Infinity War #AvengersInfinityWar @SterKinekor @TheMallofAfrica #MARVEL

Hi Friends, 

On Thursday, 26th 2018 I was invited to see the much-awaited movie @SterKinekor @TheMallofAfrica for the 830pm show (Screen 1) in Johannesburg. I was waiting for the movie and without having seen any of the YouTube review or news relating the movie. I have only watched the 2 trailers of the movie released on Youtube. I was sure that I wanted to see the movie, from the first trailer itself but my luck will work out like this was not known to me. This I am saying because the last year's Superhero movies, I have seen them with a lot of delays when I am the only one sitting in the theatres literally. If you can, believe me, I could not even finish my popcorns as I didn't want to waste my time in chewing as I was sitting on the edge of the seat for the whole of the movie.

Let's begin with the Infinity War so as the name suggested, it's going to be a WAR and not a battle between any of the two Avengers as showcased in many of the earlier movies. Maybe it was the way to test the public response for the MARVEL brand to check how much they should invest in this movie so that the returns are humungous. And indeed the bet has paid off significantly along with the confidence in the storytelling that the series was working towards from the last 10 years. It all gets connected in this release of the movie, even if you have not understood the earlier ones. But if you want to connect the dots, you need to see all the parts of all the movies produced earlier. 

The movie is a mixture of Iron Man meets Dr. Strange with the new Spider-Man apprentice under Iron Man. Secondly, Thor series meets Guardians of the Galaxy before transporting Hulk back to Planet Earth where he joins the old Avengers. Thirdly, Black Panther meets Captain America where White Wolf is reunited with the other Avengers and Vision. The movie continues in those three parallel worlds along with the fourth one for Thanos who travels from one universe to other to meet all these three storylines. This movie is all about Thanos, rest of the superheroes can take a walk till they reunite in the next version of the movie.

The cinematography is awesome and especially the Wakanda scenes really bring the Jo'burg crowd cheering for their favorite superhero. This sets the pace for the climax and even after it all ends and screen goes dark, no one wanted to leave their seats. I too was waiting for the next part to be shown immediately after this one as I didn't felt satisfied enough to leave for home. It kept me hanging there in the theatre to see more of the movie and after the end credits, you see something unique and never introduced earlier in the previous releases.


The focus in the trailers of the movie was to save all the infinity stones from Thanos as he can then just SNAP his fingers and half of the population can just turn into thin air. Thanos is right in his own logic as he tries to save his universe from getting overpopulated as the natural resources are limited. He himself is ready to do all the sacrifices for the better future. How Thanos achieves infinity stones one after the other and how he uses the powers of the earlier captured stones is what this movie is all about? In the end, we all know what will be the end result in the second part of this movie but still, there is a long wait to see how it's done in the movie as compared to the comic books.

The comic timing of certain characters is superb like Bruce Banner trying to convert into Hulk but couldn't. Rocket and Groot continue to be my favorite characters in this series also with significant scenes. The Game of Thrones Tyrion Lannister - Peter Dinklage plays a small role but will remind you that winters are finally here and will keep you occupied till the next version of Avengers series. Wakanda setup will capture everyone's heart and you will want to see Black Panther again in the theatres. New Spiderman is funny and naive and will immediately make a space in your heart.

This version of the movie will make you realize how difficult is it to see your favorite superheroes face the defeat and vanished from the universe into thin air and will make you realize that the life is momentary. Always build your relationships strong as Dr. Strange gives away his Time infinity stone to save the life of Iron Man though they met only just at the start of the movie. Groot continues to do his sacrificing act which captures everyone's heart and touches your soul. Even for once, I felt bad when Loki was getting killed by Thanos but they didn't show the same on the screen. The movie is superb and will be earning Billions of Dollars just from the first part and second part when it releases next year, will be even more successful under the able directorship of Russo Brothers for both the movies. All the characters played by the respective Superheroes are doing well in this movie too. You still fall in love with Black Widow, Ayo, Nakia and Maria Hill.

A big congratulations to Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures on the grand success of the movie and to all the celebrated actors in the movie. This is a MARVEL's marvel which will definitely shine in the Hollywood world just like powerful INFINITY STONES. Go see for yourselves in a Ster Kinekor cinema near you, better watch it in IMAX and have 26% more fun with extra screen space!

Paddington Dances With The Duchess Of Cambridge Before Coming to #SouthAfrica @SterEnt #Paddington2SA

The life-size Paddington bear, who recently charmed the Duchess of Cambridge, will be visiting South Africa at the end of this month to promote the upcoming Paddington 2 movie which will be hitting the South African big screens on December 1, 2017.

Yesterday, Paddington was spotted at Paddington station in London dancing with Kate, Duchess of Cambridge who is expecting her third child with Prince William. Paddington left the Royal family laughing and dancing with his presence. The royals, along with the cast and crew of Paddington 2 film, joined children on charity train ride. This is the real-life tale of a small boy with big dreams, and his journey to become the ‘God of Cricket’ and the most celebrated sportsperson in his country, India, and around the world. He made his test debut in the national team at just 16 years of age, and his unmatched career as cricketer and captain was as a result of determination, hard work and passion.

In this biopic, Sachin Tendulkar stars as himself, alongside other Indian cricketing greats including Mahendra Singh (M.S.) Dhoni and Virender Sehwag, with Mayuresh Pem as Nitin Tendulkar and Mayur More as Ajit Tendulkar.

Small in stature but regarded as the ‘God of Cricket’ by cricket fans, Sachin is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket, and is the leading run-scorer and century-maker in both the Test and One Day International formats of the game. He is considered to be the most complete batsman of his time, and is arguably the most popular cricketing icon the world has seen.

From the producers of Hard to Get and Happiness is a Four Letter Word, comes the two-sided, family-engaged-comedy affair, KEEPING UP WITH THE KANDASAMY’S. The film will be released in cinemas on 3 March 2017. It is directed by Durban filmmaker, Jayan Moodley (White Gold) and produced by Helena Spring and the late Junaid Ahmed.

Described by Moodley as a “love letter to Chatsworth”, KEEPING UP WITH THE KANDASAMY’S was filmed on location in Chatsworth, Durban, South Africa, and stars Jailoshini Naidoo (Eastern Mosaic, Lotus FM) and Maeshni Naicker (Broken Promises) as the matriarchal rivals of neighbouring families, whose young adult children become romantically involved, and despite their best efforts to keep them apart, they are forced to acknowledge that in the end “love will always prevail.”

“Shanti Naidoo (Maeshni Naicker) is a typical Type-A personality. Always on the move, going out of her way to please people, and overcompensating for her perceived inadequacies by continually cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Her life would be just fine, except that her neighbour Jennifer Kandasamy (Jailoshini Naidoo), always seems to hold the upper hand.

When Jennifer realises her daughter Jodi (Mishqah Parthiephal) is in love with Shanti's son Prinesh (Madhushan Singh), she is determined to break them up. But in order to do that she will have to enlist her rival's help. Together the two women scheme and plot, recruit prospective partners and generally interfere with their kids wherever they can,” says Spring.

The cast also comprises, among others, Mishqah Parthiephal, Madhushan Singh, Mariam Bassa, Rajesh Gopie, Koobeshen Naidoo and Neil Govender.

A #Trolls Movie Experience of Lifetime @FantaFunZA #FantaPhotoBomb

Hi Guys, 

Fanta is one of the coolest drinks which have been my favorite since childhood. It was called "Gold Spot" in India way back in 1980's and later Coca Cola named it Fanta. When I was in London, I saw Fanta available in different flavors from Original Orange to pineapple to berries. In Fanta's World, Fun is Guaranteed and that's the summary of this story which I am about to share. 

Coming back to the real life story of how the movie experience became a once in a lifetime opportunity for me started with a phone call to inquire about the address. I was told that an invite will be given in person to the Trolls movie at SterKinekor, Sandton City on 19th Oct. I was waiting as it was a festive season and here comes the invite by none other than the celebrity Khanya Mkangisa. She came along with her team and immediately we started creating #FantaPhotoBomb. Khanya is the Top Billing star on SABC3. Fanta invite included Fanta tshirt for myself and my daughter along with a diary and lunch cover and Fanta Cap. Also included was the tangy tasty chilled 6 cans of Fanta Orange for myself and my friends. My daugher was delighted to receive the tshirt in Orange color. 

Came the day when it was the launch show of movie Trolls, and my wife has a religious annual fasting and said she won't be able to go. I had to convince her that the moon will come late around 10pm that day and movie will end around 930 giving us sufficient time to reach home and do the ceremonies etc. After a lot of convincing, we all reached the venue and took some photos at the photo booth with none other than Khanya Mkangisa. She loved my daughter and shared her photo on her instagram page too. As we took our popcorns, Cadbury's Whispers and Fanta, ofcourse we made our way to the movie hall where to our surprise every seat has A4 envelops underneath our seats. 

 

Soon Khanya introduced the movie and asked us to open our envelops and told that 4 of which has special letter or rewards hidden. As I opened mines, it contained a letter saying that I am a WINNER! I felt so great but didn't know what was the mystery prize. Another icing on the cake, Khanya mentioned is that each and every invitee is a winner as they will all receive a goodies bag at the end of the movie. The movie started after the same with a bang!

Trolls movie was all colorful with hope, dreams, leadership, love and sacrifice. My family thoroughly enjoyed the movie. The movie took its twists and turns as I held my winners letter to my heart. As soon as the movie ended, I rushed towards the door to collect my prize but then I held back as I wanted my daughter to collect my prize. Meanwhile other 2 winners took their prizes and when I reached the third one had a choice to choose between two packets and he chose the bigger looking packet. He was delighted to open the packet and won himself an INSTAX Camera and immediately started taking pictures. 

I had no option as the last sealed packet was mine and the lady said, Congratulations!!! You got a phone! I was overjoyed as I always wanted to win a phone but never ever won so before. It was a Samsung A5 (2016) edition smartphone and I was so happy when I opened it at home. The goodies bag also contained the Camera Lenses (Fish eye, Macro, Landscape) which I always wanted along with 2 cans of Fanta and colored straws. It was a night where all my dreams came true. 

Thanks to Fanta for the invite and meanwhile after a week on Halloween my daughter again received a Princess dress along with a photo frame and 24 cans of Fanta Orange. She was more than happy and enjoyed wearing the dress on her friends birthday. 

I am really grateful to each and every person from Fanta to make #FantaPhotoBomb happen in my life with a bang! I can never forget this experience ever and looking forward to create some more #FantaPhotoBomb expressions and show them on my instagram channel. July being my birthday month always have been special for me as it's time to buy myself something my heart desires a lot. The life in July 2015 was exciting and my blog touched the most number of pageviews (123,026) in the history of TheLife'sWay in a single month. Snyder directed from a screenplay written by Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer, based on characters from DC Comics, including Batman, created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger, and Superman, created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The film is produced by Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder, with Wesley Coller, Geoff Johns and David S. Goyer serving as executive producers.

Snyder’s behind-the-scenes creative team includes director of photography Larry Fong (300, Watchmen) and production designer Patrick Tatopoulos (300: Rise of an Empire), and from hisMan of Steel team, editor David Brenner, costume designer Michael Wilkinson, visual effects supervisor John DJ DesJardin, and Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer (The Lion King) working in conjunction with composer Junkie XL (Mad Max: Fury Road).

Microsoft Lumia and Uber broke a unique partnership to celebrate the release of new blockbuster Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice. The cinema event of the year sees two of the greatest comic book heroes, namely Superman and Batman, going toe to toe in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice. Microsoft South Africa has partnered with Uber and Warner Bros. Pictures to provide fans with a cinematic experience to match the phenomenal stature of this titanic clash. 

“Fifty lucky people in both Cape Town and Johannesburg got to attend the preview of this 3D blockbuster on Wednesday 23 March with a friend,” says Michelle Wyne, Microsoft Marketing Manager for Mobile Devices. “Like Bruce Wayne, they will get the red carpet treatment, kicking off with ride in style in an UberBLACK.”

This chauffeured ride took them straight to the preview venue, where they were able to step into the shoes of Clark Kent by chronicling some of their favourite moments in the photo booth for possible inclusion in the social pages of the Daily Planet. Attendees also won some instant prizes in the Microsoft Lumia zone and set the stage for the evening’s main event by challenging their friends at the Xbox Station.

Pick your path to greatness: Gotham City or Metropolis

People entered the same by opening the Uber app and entering the code LumiaBATMAN or LumiaSUPERMAN in the Promotions tab. Once done and when they Re-opened the app after 30 minutes you will see a fourth tab as your unique Super Hero view pops up.

Synopsis – Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Following his titanic struggle against General Zod, Metropolis has been razed to the ground and Superman is the most controversial figure in the world. While for many he is still an emblem of hope, a growing number of people consider him a threat to humanity, seeking justice for the chaos he has brought to Earth. As far as Bruce Wayne is concerned, Superman is clearly a danger to society. He fears for the future of the world with such a reckless power left ungoverned, and so he dons his mask and cape to right Superman's wrongs. The rivalry between them is furious, fueled by bitterness and vengeance, and nothing can dissuade them from waging this war. However, a dark new threat arises in the form of a third man: one who has a power greater than either of them to endanger the world and cause total destruction.
