Melbourne - The Most Livable City in the World @Indiblogger Contest

Hi Guys,

Australia has everything which a country can offer to it's visitors as well as citizens. Melbourne is one of the major cities in this amazing country. As per the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) it's the most livable city in the world and has been in top 3 since 2002. There must be something that must be making this city Number 1 amongst various nations and top cities.
Melbourne is the major financial capital of Australia so it offers great career opportunities. The city has a huge CBD area which has all the companies flourishing day and night.
Melbourne has everything that a metropolitan city is known for. It offers great fun, food, architecture, film movies theatre and recreational activities along with amazing night life as well as some great cultural heritage. The city has really some great eating joints and coffee places which makes this place amazing to get together.
The thing I love the most in this city is the world famous Melbourne Cricket Ground which has a history of itself and can have more than 100000 spectators in it's full capacity. This coming year Cricket World Cup will have several matches scheduled to happen in this amazing ground. India vs South Africa match is scheduled to happen in this ground on 22nd Feb 2015. The Final of 2015 Cricket World Cup will also happen in this amazing and great cricket ground. Who knows that India might again pick the trophy this year!!!
It's always great to go for a drive on the road touching the sea and Great Ocean Road gives you what Garden Route offers in South Africa. It is for those times when you feel really sad and wants to see sunset or sunrise as the drive always brings in a lot of hope. The time spent near the sea is always remembered by everyone. It gives you a calm and meditation effect.
The city has numerous beaches for your morning and evening walks as well as for some romantic getaways. It's always great to sit on the sands and watch waves touch your feet while sun takes it's route. It's always a great time in this amazing city. I wish to see myself in the city soon and enjoy whatever best this Victorian city of Melbourne has to offer.

Check out some of the amazing video's of this city enjoyed by Tanmay and Rohan -

I love the city of Melbourne because of it's cultural heritage and architecture of buildings like Eureka Tower, Queen Victoria Market, Flinders Street Railway Station, State Library of Victoria & St Paul Cathedral amongst various others. I loved Tanmay and Rohan visiting the Queen Victoria Market along with their visit to Eureka Skydeck. Thanks a lot! Suresh K Jain suresh.jain229@gmail.com

  3. Wonderful post and interesting videos that make me feel that
Melbourne invites the eternal romantic in me to hold hands with my beloved and go see the Twelve Apostles .Go on long drives on the great ocean road. In the middle of nowhere in a vineyard spread a table and enjoy a meal and a glass of wine with my dear one. Enjoy the sunsets holding hands and do lots of shopping at the Queen Victoria Market and see all the graffiti being created at the hosier lane.
Great Post and interesting videos watching them I am sure to visit Sovereign Hill for spending some time in the era gone by. The lure of gold and panning for some nuggets is a temptation that is too much to resist. After I have found the gold I am bound to celebrate it with some wine so I will visit the vineyards and enjoy some great wine from the Yarra region .Visit the Pannys Phillip Island Chocolate Factory and have my fill with this yummy delight.

  4. MCG, the Australian mecca for cricket lovers. I would definitely like to be in Australia when either Indian team or the English team happens to be on tour, the nest time. Will be a memorable experience to watch the rivalry unfold right in front of my eyes, sitting right in the middle of MCG.

After reading your post and watching all the videos.I feel I have stepped into a kaleidoscope called Melbourne.Where Vistas of experiences would unfold one after another. The nature lover in me is enticed by the thought of watching the penguin parade.Traveling though the great ocean road, soaking up the freshness as the breeze ruffles my hair gets me in the mood to pack my bags for Melbourne. But before I can move ,Puffing Billy whistles and invites me for a ride. The kid in me jumps with joy at the thought of visiting Pannys Phillip Island Chocolate Factory.Even before I can deside on the list of places that I would like to see in and around Melbourne.

  6. Some of the most interesting places which I shortlisted to visit after watching Tanmay and Rohan's videos is here. This comment space would be very less in order to keep on giving the reasons to visit these places once in life, but I am trying to be as short and crisp as possible and these are the must visit places if at all I go to Melbourne in my life.

Yarra Valley for Great Day out and Excellent Wine Tasting tour which seems totally magical. Driving around Yarra Valley in a beautiful and breathtaking places seems like a great country getaway from Melbourne city and so much to see, visit and taste.

Going for a Seal Watching Cruise and Observing those inquisitive & graceful creatures close up, is a trip one will not forget I guess. It seems to be a totally a worthy place for young and old too. So many seals getting close to them could be an absolutely thrilling experience.

Another place I wouldn't want to miss is Sunny Ridge Strawberry farm for some AMAZING Strawberry ice cream and strawberries, it seems like a strawberry heaven with delicious, succulent and mouth watering strawberries ever. I am sure this place visit would be a great experience for the kids too.

Have you watched Penguins parade ? If not, I guess this is the place to visit which is Phillip Island Nature Park. The experience to watch these penguins is Out of this world, a must see for great experience and its awesome

for Animal lovers too. Its like cute litte faires coming in from Ocean. I guess, this is a MUST do experience when I am in Melbourne.

Are you a chocolate lover ? I guess Pannys Amazing World of Chocolate is a must visit place for enjoying some mouth watering chocolates. Also, just watching the huge waterfall of chocolate cascade down is breath taking. And watching the live chocolate making is fun.

If you are a drive freak and love to drive around in some scenic spots, this is the place to visit which is "The Great Ocean Road". Seems like it would be a Great tour, great food and fantastic view.

Some more places which I love to visit is Montalto Vineyard & Olive Grove, Loch Ard Gorge beach, Chateau Yering BBQ for some amazing Australian BBQ and definitely a hot air balloon ride for spectacular sightseeing and experience in life.

  7. Hi!

We know beauty never need words but without words it cannot be explained
and when you get wordless after seeing it… your mouth still get open
wide and WOW comes out. Dear! Your explanation about Melbourne is
wonderful and picturesque description. I am a person who always
attracted to nature first of any place so I would love to see the
Melbourne Nature & Wildlife. The 12 Apostles rock formations is
world famous rocks which changes its color in sunrise and sun set. And
then I will see the Phillip Island Nature Park where I want to see the
animals which I hardly see in India. I never saw Penguins, Koala and
    other animals.

Driving on a smooth road with natural beauty around you, it always gives
you a feeling of heaven on Earth. I would love to drive on Great Ocean
Road which is also famous in world to give you a scenic experience and
the pleasure of that driving is amazing.

  8. Given a chance to visit Melbourne, I would absolutely make a run for Eureka Skydeck 88..Imagine the view of the city from such a great height of over 300 metres and while you are suspended in air in a glass box!

This is an experience not to be missed and I hope I get a chance to visit Melbourne and go explore Eureka Skydeck 88 soon :)

For me it would be the road touching the sea and Great Ocean Road...the picture is absolutely mesmerizing. The sands, the waves, the sunset all make it so romantically attractive. Ofcourse Melbourne Cricket Ground would follow.
