Hi Friends, 

At the start of the lockdown, I participated randomly in a twitter contest for Peugeot South Africa and by the power of the Universe, I won the contest and amazing Peugeot Powerbanks of 10000mAh made their way towards my home for myself and my wife.

The first thing that came to my mind when I opened the box is the amazing design of the power bank along with the LCD display to show how much charge is left in the power bank. The graphics design really is very nice on the Peugeot power bank. 

The power bank also had a small LED light which can be switch ON and OFF using a button on the right side of the device. The light emitted by the LED is strong enough to take care of your travel essentials in case you want to look under the bed or read a book or find something in the drawers. The power bank can be fully charged using the micro-USB cable supplied in the box and takes around 5-6 hours to fully charge. 

There are 2 output points to charge two devices in a single go but the power wattage is 5V 2.1A on both the USB points. The input also is similar to get the power bank charged. I tried the 10000mAh to charge one of the notebooks, I have and using 50% of the power, I could charge the tablet/netbook to about 33% which has about 8000mAh battery. So as always with all kinds of power banks, the throughput is always around 80% in the best capacity. 

This power bank is available at the Peugeot branded showrooms for their cars for about R500 and some other merchandise will also be on display if you want to show off your new products.

Again, I am eternally grateful to Peugeot to show off my new power bank with LED light and LCD display which is not there in any of my other power banks to date. I love these twitter contests and the doorbell when it rings by the courier company to come and collect the packages at the gate these days!

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Aug 2015 www.thelifesway.com #TheLifesWay

August 2015 was the time when a lot of new companies were contacting me for the product reviews and I really loved doing so too. It was also the month when my family was back in town from India and again a lot of shopping for groceries started happening. 

1. An Amazing Slots Race @TsogoSun @SilverstarZA to be Winners! - http://www.thelifesway.com/2015/08/an-amazing-slots-race-tsogosun.html - This was one of the best planned and organized event I attended in the history and later this year, the team won the prize based on the social media reach for this particular event. I really loved running and completing activity after activity to won myself two nights stay at The Presidential Suite, Silverstar Casino. Thanks for the invite to Montecasino and for the lovely goodies that came along with this event. 

2. Amenity Kits @Turkishair_SA makes travel memorable! - http://www.thelifesway.com/2015/08/amenity-kits-turkishairsa-makes-travel.html - Who doesn't love unexpected goodies and when they are special which are not sold in the market, then it's collectible. I really loved getting Amenity kits from Turkish Air when they launched some new ones for their business class customers. I still use them and really loved them a lot. 

3. #Showmax Video On Demand @showmaxonline launched #SouthAfrica - http://www.thelifesway.com/2015/08/showmax-video-on-demand-showmaxonline.html - Showmax launched their services in South Africa and I received a month's membership for free. I really enjoyed watching certain documentaries never heard of and unavailable on the TV networks along with some of the old movies which I could not watch earlier. 

4. Product Review - @TomTom_SA Runner Cardio GPS Running #Watch - http://www.thelifesway.com/2015/08/product-review-tomtomsa-runner-cardio.html - I got this watch after I reviewed Fitbit and Sony smartwatch and this was had a focus for runners. It had all the features required by runners to help them track their progress and run in their performance zones. As I am preparing for my first marathon, I am really missing this watch. 

5. Before & After Party @SavannaCider - It's EPIC! #Jozi - http://www.thelifesway.com/2015/08/before-after-party-savannacider-its.html - Savanna Cider used to be a brand which I endorsed a lot last year and got invited to several of their events. This event's picture got published in several newspapers and I really loved to see myself on those Page 3 articles. Thanks to Savanna for the invite. 

August has been always great for me as it's my brother's birthday month and a lot of other relatives too. It's party time in August and also the planning for my daughter's birthday took a lot of time. Sometimes life gives you different unexpected twists and turns when you have to think about which one can be the right way, stick to your values during those times. Someone above is always looking at you with hope and love and Universe will make sure that you get what you deserve.

A #Trolls Movie Experience of Lifetime @FantaFunZA #FantaPhotoBomb

Hi Guys, 

Fanta is one of the coolest drinks which have been my favorite since childhood. It was called "Gold Spot" in India way back in 1980's and later Coca Cola named it Fanta. When I was in London, I saw Fanta available in different flavors from Original Orange to pineapple to berries. In Fanta's World, Fun is Guaranteed and that's the summary of this story which I am about to share. 

Coming back to the real life story of how the movie experience became a once in a lifetime opportunity for me started with a phone call to inquire about the address. I was told that an invite will be given in person to the Trolls movie at SterKinekor, Sandton City on 19th Oct. I was waiting as it was a festive season and here comes the invite by none other than the celebrity Khanya Mkangisa. She came along with her team and immediately we started creating #FantaPhotoBomb. Khanya is the Top Billing star on SABC3. Fanta invite included Fanta tshirt for myself and my daughter along with a diary and lunch cover and Fanta Cap. Also included was the tangy tasty chilled 6 cans of Fanta Orange for myself and my friends. My daugher was delighted to receive the tshirt in Orange color. 

Came the day when it was the launch show of movie Trolls, and my wife has a religious annual fasting and said she won't be able to go. I had to convince her that the moon will come late around 10pm that day and movie will end around 930 giving us sufficient time to reach home and do the ceremonies etc. After a lot of convincing, we all reached the venue and took some photos at the photo booth with none other than Khanya Mkangisa. She loved my daughter and shared her photo on her instagram page too. As we took our popcorns, Cadbury's Whispers and Fanta, ofcourse we made our way to the movie hall where to our surprise every seat has A4 envelops underneath our seats. 

 

Soon Khanya introduced the movie and asked us to open our envelops and told that 4 of which has special letter or rewards hidden. As I opened mines, it contained a letter saying that I am a WINNER! I felt so great but didn't know what was the mystery prize. Another icing on the cake, Khanya mentioned is that each and every invitee is a winner as they will all receive a goodies bag at the end of the movie. The movie started after the same with a bang!

Trolls movie was all colorful with hope, dreams, leadership, love and sacrifice. My family thoroughly enjoyed the movie. The movie took its twists and turns as I held my winners letter to my heart. As soon as the movie ended, I rushed towards the door to collect my prize but then I held back as I wanted my daughter to collect my prize. Meanwhile other 2 winners took their prizes and when I reached the third one had a choice to choose between two packets and he chose the bigger looking packet. He was delighted to open the packet and won himself an INSTAX Camera and immediately started taking pictures. 

I had no option as the last sealed packet was mine and the lady said, Congratulations!!! You got a phone! I was overjoyed as I always wanted to win a phone but never ever won so before. It was a Samsung A5 (2016) edition smartphone and I was so happy when I opened it at home. The goodies bag also contained the Camera Lenses (Fish eye, Macro, Landscape) which I always wanted along with 2 cans of Fanta and colored straws. It was a night where all my dreams came true. 

Thanks to Fanta for the invite and meanwhile after a week on Halloween my daughter again received a Princess dress along with a photo frame and 24 cans of Fanta Orange. She was more than happy and enjoyed wearing the dress on her friends birthday. 

I am really grateful to each and every person from Fanta to make #FantaPhotoBomb happen in my life with a bang! I can never forget this experience ever and looking forward to create some more #FantaPhotoBomb expressions and show them on my instagram channel. A Memoir - Year 2015 for www.TheLifesWay.com #Blog #AashishRai (600 Post)

Hi Guys,

It's time to connect the dots and look again at some of the important activites that happened for The Life's Way blog in 2015. There has been many achievements and great things happened to me which I shared from time to time on the social media channels and also on my blog. The best part of the year came in when I became the winner of Samsung's Blogger Challenge Grand Finale for 2014. I am thankful to the brand for the same and I love watching all the movies and TV series on Samsung's 65inch curved UHD TV. 

In the third year of it's existence The Life's Way blog started from 100k pageviews on 01 Jan 2015 and reached 740k pageviews on 31 Dec 2015, that's a massive 640,000 pageviews in a single year. I am thankful to Tweet Jukebox for helping me reach this mark along with more than 219 blogposts in a single year. The followers on all social media channels are increased with time spend on that particular channel. 

I am also thankful to Indiblogger for their Happy Hours contest which allowed me to get several Flipkart vouchers so that I could buy myself a Nikon Speedlight SB-910. The device is really expansive and I did some sponsored blogposts to reach the milestone. I was very happy to spend all my vouchers and sponsored blog posts money on something I always wanted to have. Thanks to Indiblogger and PR's for sponsored posts.

I am so grateful to Aramex Global Shopper for giving me a chance to work for them which helped me buy my favorite  Momentum On-Ear headphones from Sennheiser, Social Beat to work on their several paid campaigns to allow me to buy SB-910 Nikon Flash.

I am also thankful to MonteCasino's PR team for the invites to their special events from time to time giving me a chance to take photographs to post on my Instagram channel. I am thankful to them for sending the Christmas goodies being my first one ever received from any brand. Thanks once again!

I am also thankful to Savanna Cider and GC Communications for all the invites to their events and sending me samples from time to time. I really loved the Beats Solo HD headphones from one of their events and will continue to enjoy music via them forever.

I fell in love with Peugeot Active #208 car which I took for a weekend drive to Pilanesburg and thanks to the brand for sponsoring me to do so. I really loved the same and shared a lot of photographs on my instagram/photoyatra channel. 

The new year I want to achieve Tier 3 for Instagram, Twitter and Blogger profile based on the calculations done at Webfluential. I am thankful to the team for giving me my first job for twitter this year for one of their campaigns. 

I want to cross 3000 posts on Instagram (1630 posts so far), Blog to cross 1000 posts (600 posts) by 31 Dec 2016 to take my pageviews to cross 1 Million mark in 2016. I am also thinking of migrating to Wordpress to change the look and feel of my blog along with enabling several other features. I will continue to participate in all the blogging contests from Blogadda and Indiblogger once again. 

Overall, it was a great year where it was awesome to work with new PR companies and sending/receiving proposals. I was not able to work with all of them but I hope in 2016 I will be able to do so. I hope this new year, I can earn some money to buy myself membership plans for some of the things which needs to be taken care of by the blog to automate stuff especially Tweet Jukebox. I also want to buy a Prime lens Nikon 35mm most probably to take some awesome portrait shots or Samsung's 45mm lens for NX300 Mirrorless camera. Maya The Bee - @SterKinekor #HeritageDay Kids Celebration #Movie

Hi Guys,

The delightful and much-loved children’s TV series, Maya the Bee, has been made into a feature film for the big screen. In a South African first, the film – distributed by Black Sheep Films - will be released locally in three of the country’s official languages – in English as Maya the Bee Movie (also in 3D), in Afrikaans as Maya die By Movie and, in isiZulu as uMaya Inyosi iMovie. This 3D computer-animated comedy adventure opened on circuit in the three languages at select Ster-Kinekor cinemas countrywide on Friday, 18 September.

It is a significant step that the same film is released with three different language soundtracks, as opposed to the more common sub-titles. The film has been released just before South Africans celebrate their diverse cultures on National Heritage Day (24 September), making the movie accessible to a wider, multi-lingual audience. Children are encouraged to see the movie in their home language first and then a second time in one of the other languages, as a way to enhance their second language skills.

There will be exciting activities for the kids to participate in, at select Ster-Kinekor sites on Heritage Day (24 September). These include various arts and crafts, colouring-in sheets, balloons and some Maya the Bee hampers up for grabs for some lucky prize winners. The participating cinemas are: Cradlestone Mall, Greenstone Mall and Carnival City in and around Johannesburg; The Grove Mall in Pretoria; Watercrest Mall and Musgrave in Durban; and N1 City, Promenade and Blue Route in Cape Town. The entertainment area is sure to be abuzz with activity from 10:30 to 15:00 on Thursday.

Maya the Bee Movie is based on the German children's book of the same name by Waldemar Bonsels, written over a century ago in 1912. It is directed byAlexs Stadermann, and features the voices of Coco Jack Gillies (as Maya), Kodi Smit-McPhee, Noah Taylor, Richard Roxburgh, Jacki Weaver and Miriam Margolyes.

The film is the big-screen adventure that follows Maya, a young bee who leaves the hive and embarks on a new adventure to discover the beauty and mysteries of nature. Freshly-hatched Maya is a little whirlwind of a bee who won't follow the rules of the hive. One of these rules is not to trust the hornets that live beyond the meadow. When the Royal Jelly is stolen, the hornets are suspected and Maya is thought to be their accomplice. No one believes that she is the innocent victim and no one will stand by her, except for her good-natured best friend, Willy. After a long and eventful journey to the hornets’ hive, Maya and Willy soon discover the true culprit and set about bringing him to book.

The running time of the film is 1hr 29mins, and it carries no age restriction.

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - March 2014 #TheLifesWay #PhotoYatra

Hi Guys,

March is the month of appraisal, bonus announcements, ratings, reviews and a lot of negotiations & discussions. It's the month where budget is discussed in detail and news will feature all the top leaders and industrialists to give their comments on the economy as a whole. 

I was so busy in March last year that I almost posted some of the Indiblogger contest posts which I never won and other twitter posts. Some of the posts are about goodies which I won here in Johannesburg.

1. Product Review – Seagate Expansion Desktop Drive – 3 TB- We all need memory to capture all the data we have collected through several sources. With blu-ray quality movies which takes more than 7GB space per movie, you are always short on the portable hard disk capacities. I thought about it and bought a desktop version of HDD for 3TB which gave me around 2.72GB space for myself. I immediately cleaned all my devices and put everything in the same. Now this year, I can see there is hardly 250GB space left in the same too and 4TB is already available in the market to buy. It's a vicious circle dear friends, I should delete some of the old data and movies. 

2. Valentine's date with New Balance @BallzRadio - This was one of the best days of my life when I got the New Balance FRESH FOAM running shoes for free by participating in the fun run called runnovation. I tweeted a lot about the event and won the first prize of shoes for myself worth R1200. I still wear them comfortably and wants this event to happen again sometime this year. 

3. Photo Walk - Wild Safaris in South Africa - I love photography and I try to click a lot of photographs which I realized yesterday only are total waste & crap and can't be used anywhere. So I thought that I will take some time to frame and then will capture the beauty instead of just clicking randomly. South Africa is a beautiful place to learn a lot of photography of landscape, wildlife and action. I will try to make the best use of the same. 

4. Product Review - Kjeldsens - Oat & Cranberry Cookies - Sometimes in life you try something new and become fan of the same immediately. It happened with me when I tried Royal Dansk cookies and contacted the company also. I received some packs to review which I did and received this mug and spoon also.  I love #goodies because those are things you can't buy as they are branded by the company and are only available to them.

5. Twitter Goodies - Incredible Connection #Selfie Contest - I love #twitter as I used to win a lot of contests in India and when I came here, I missed the same for a while. I only won my first contest in March and received these goodies. I always wanted a USB LED light and finally received one. Thank you Universe! #grateful Remember I love #goodies also received Canon goodies from Makro and NuMetro movie tickets from Fox Star Movies South Africa.

Enjoy and have fun always as it will keep you happy! The happier you are, the more you are in touch with your luck and then you receive a lot of #goodies! I love them all!

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Feb 2014

Hi Guys,

Feb 2014 as work started in full phase at office, I had very less time left for blogging. I tried to review all the headphones I bought or won in many of the contests on twitter/facebook or from Indiblogger meets. In the month of Feb, there are always a lot of Indiblogger and Blogadda contests that happens so I tried my hands in many of them too.

1. Product Review - Sennheiser PX80 On ear Headphones - Sennheiser is one of my most favorite brand of headphones. I always liked their stuff and won these light, portable and awesome headphones on their facebook page in India. This post has been my top post in terms of pageviews at the moment. Check it out! I also reviewed other headphones which I won on Indiblogger Indimeet - Product Review - Sennheiser HD202 II - Over Ear Headphones which I am still using here to watch movies and music.

2. Photo Walk - Gardens of the Nature 2 / Photo Walk - Gardens of the Nature 3 / Photo Walk - Gardens of the Nature 4 - remains my best in terms of natural beauty it showcases. We all are attracted to flowers and I totally loved clicking their photographs. I will start again on this series this month as I got some new photographs clicked on my trip to CapeTown etc.

3. Indiblogger & 5 Star Contest - Condition Serious hai - I loved my sarcastic writing for this contest but I didn't win any contest prizes from Indiblogger. Some of the things I predicted there were very right and it continues to happen all the time in our society.

4. Knowledge is great and so is it's pursuit - Indiblogger & British Council Contest - I wrote about the problems we face if we want to go for higher studies outside the country. I tried to relate the topic with what my brother faced as he wanted to studied abroad way back in 2003. Another failure to win any prizes from Indiblogger in this post also.

5. Product Review - BROTHER - MFC-9140CDN - This was the first time someone sent me something big to review. The post has been a successful on in terms of pageviews and still is in my top 10 posts. Thanks to Brother Printers for sending me the printer.

Feb 2014 was full of hope and new friendships were created as we met new people on the job and I thought to initiate my blog here in South Africa by marketing it well. I tried to remain active on Twitter and other social media channels to increase my visibility.

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Dec 2013

Hi Guys,

Last year in Dec 2013, I didn't blogged for whole of Nov and my Indiblogger rank dropped considerably due to non activity. I went back to India and posted some of the Product review posts about some of the latest gadgets that I won between Nov and Dec 2013. It was my second month in Johannesburg and I visited several places and made some great friends.

1. Product Review - Sony Wireless Speaker SRS-BTV5 with NFC & Bluetooth- This great bluetooth speaker I won from @SonyPix twitter contest on #Skyfall and totally loved it since then. I still am using the same and liked the volume and sound clarity these small speakers produce. 

2. Product Review - LG HBS-700 Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Headset - This is one great device which my brother bought from USA for himself and I totally loved the design and comfort of these headsets from LG. These headsets Vodacom here is giving for free with LG G3 mobile phones. The deal is totally worth it because of the headsets. 

3. Product Review - Logitech Mini Boombox - This is the only prizes my wife has won for her blog post on one of the Indiblogger meet contest. The sound is impressive and loud. The size of the speaker is perfect for a picnic and produced great sound with bass. Thanks to Indiblogger & ZeeTV for such an awesome prize. 

4. Product Review - Amazon Kindle 3G Keyboard - When Kindle got launched it revolutionized the market and everyone who loves reading was looking for the device. There was a huge discussion between paper and digital editions as everyone has their own favorite. But fact remained that Kindle is a powerful device which has grown over the years and taken digital media to a new level. I totally loved this device and has been reading on it for years now. 

5. Product Review - Sennheiser HD 280 Pro - Over the ear Headphones  

Product Review - Harman Kardon CL Headphones

Headphones being my first love, I always try to review as many as I can find, buy or lend from friends and family. My brother got Sennheiser HD280 which were heavy to wear but produces amazing sound quality. I got my friend to buy Harman Kardon in sale and he totally loved them till the time, he got BOSE in another sale next season. 

The year 2013 ended on a high note as I won many contests during the whole year and received a lot of prizes. The amount of time spent is also huge to win those gifts and goodies. I totally enjoyed it but if I look at it now, I won't be spending that much time ever again on those twitter contests. It's an addiction which grows if you start winning and then you don't want to lose ever in any of the contest.

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - April 2013

Hi Guys,

I always wanted to share what has been the stepping stone to my blog and what happened in this particular month last year. It's only today I got the inspiration to actually create and write one and from not onwards it will be a monthly feature where I share my good posts and what happened with those posts. It's a sharing of journey as I can now connect the dots looking backwards.

April 2013 was the month when I was an approved member of Indiblogger community and started writing for their various contests and Indimeets. They organized various meets in April and as I started blogging only to be a part of Indiblogger community, I was very much excited to join all of those meets and make a lot of friends in those meets. It was one of those months when I got serious about pursuing this hobby to blog on www.thelifesway.com and bought this domain also with the help of a friend Murtaza Ali from ApotpourriofVestiges whom I met at my first Indimeet.

1. Sunsilk Perfect Straight - Gentleman's Experience - It was my first Indistuff contest entry on Indiblogger community. Receiving free shampoos to write about was a lovely experience. My family members still miss this shampoo. 

2. My tryst with Indiblogger Microsoft Office 365 - It was my first Indiblogger meet at Delhi. I kept my tweets going for the day and finally at the end of the day, I came home with Rs 1500 cash along with Microsoft Arc mouse, Indiblogger tshirt and a lot of memories. It felt really great to meet the whole Indiblogger team and meet a lot of other fellow bloggers. 

3. #HPCONNECTEDMUSIC - Me Myself and Music- This was the most defining post of my life as I won the HP laptop for writing about the music I love. We all love music and I love Bollywood music a lot. HP appreciated it by making this post won their prestigious Sleekbook with Windows8 and Connected Music subscription for an year. I still remember writing this post and asking my friends to read it and provide comments. They didn't liked my song choice but I was adamant to keep what I love in there. I think that paid off and I got the amazing new laptop.

4.  My Dream Business – The Microsoft Office 365 Way - Microsoft launched another contest after Indimeet to write about your dream business using Office 365 package. I won the runner up prize and received free Office 365 package and also an invite to see one of their event at The Lalit Hotel in Delhi. This at that time gave me immense happiness to be recognized from many brands and companies. 

5. Soldier for Women - What I learned from my dad?- I also became member of Blogadda and wrote several contest posts with sure shot vouchers and prizes. This is one of those entries and even before participating in Indiblogger meets and contests, Blogadda sent me a book RIP to review along with a personally signed letter from their CEO Nirav. It really meant a lot and I have treasured that letter in my file at home. Some other entries for the same contest are Soldier for Women - It's us all - Father of daughters!

All other posts are simply about all the contests I won on twitter and facebook and the goodies I received during that month. Twitter gave me an opportunity to test myself with a lot of other young people playing all the contests. I do miss those contests now as I am not able to play them and win.

Ster Kinekor cinemas requires no introduction in South Africa and when they launched their fifth Cine Prestige in Sandton City, I was lucky enough to be invited for the launch event as well as to see the latest movie Edge of Tomorrow in 3D on the luxurious leather seats with great catering services. It was red carpet show with a lot of who's who of Jozi welcomed to attend the launch event. I met some of the great people there. The best thing I loved about the #CinePrestige seats is the refrigerated glass chamber to keep your drink chilled throughout the movie which can be turned ON or OFF as per your convenience. The seats are comfortable and I would love to see one extra pillow to be supplied as when in full reclining position your neck is not in a perfect angle to see the screen. Also, if they can provide with a small blanket also so that we can have a comfortable experience and doze off if the movie is not good enough. I agree it will increase a lot of investment and a lot of hygiene stuff into the equation but that's my wishlist. The popcorn, drinks etc is not included in the ticket price as compared to what happens in India's PVR Gold Class where you get a complimentary drink in the ticket price.

But overall the theater has a great aura of luxury as soon as you enter the lounge till the time you reach your seats. There is a place to keep your food on the side of your seat which is well lighted so that you can see what you are eating. Overall, it's a great experience and I can't wait to buy the tickets and reinvent my love for awesome movie experience.
