What's In My Bag - Tech Bag 2022 - ZERO BUDGET BACKPACK (FREE)

Hi Guys,

I am in pursuit of a tech bag since the beginning of school and college. I have been a fan of stationery products that are unique as well as collecting pens that are unique be it a fountain or gel pens. I also love collecting small stuff that is not available to the general public unless it gets printed by the brands to give away in their contests or launch event goodie bags.

I am also a big fan of participating in online contests be it on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Sooner or later, I do win some of them from time to time. There was a time when I used to participate in 100s of them weekly and will win at least 15-20 of them in my best weeks. There was also a time when I didn't win any for continuous 3 months also without any change in my efforts to participate.

All the items showcased here in my video are collected over several years and let's analyze what constitutes a tech backpack and how you can make it too!

1. Bag Pack - It can be anything that can take all your stuff inside and can provide easy access to carry all the necessities. I got this Thule Achiever Backpack at one of the events and since then it's been my top choice. I have got others backpacks but those are cheap quality bags given at many launch events. None of them will last as long as this Thule one. Some people also use Targus or Dell laptop bags as their tech bags which is also good. I used Google bag (extensively in London and South Africa) for a lot of many years before switching to a Converse Messenger Bag. I used both for so many years depending on where I am going. Converse Messenger Bag I still use to keep all my original documents. Later for 3-4 years, I used a Dell backpack which came with the office laptop and now recently last year I moved to this Thule Achiever backpack that came along with the white t-shirt I am wearing in the initial part of the video and some other things in Telkom Music event.

The purpose of the bag is to provide a transportation mechanism for all your gadgets safely. Secondly, it can give you some space to put in extra things you want to carry from time to time. Thirdly, the pockets should be easily accessible but not so open that anyone can take stuff out if I am sleeping while using public transport.

2. Laptop/Tablet - I only have an ASUS VivoBook S15 that I won from an Instagram contest by the brand way back in 2019. I upgraded the same with a 1TB SSD which made it really fast to boot and process the videos I am editing on Filmora software. I have never won a tablet so not considering the same for this zero-budget backpack.

3. Camera - For a life of a YouTuber or Blogger, a camera is a necessity. You can also use the best of the iPhones or Samsung Ultra devices in case you have them but I don't have them so I am carrying Canon 77D in my tech bag. This camera is super powerful for all kinds of videos and photos. I won this in 2018 from an Instagram meet. Since that time this has been my go-to camera.

4. SD Cards - Canon provided 32GB cards at one of their roadshows to all participants that I use in my camera along with an SD card reader at one of their previous roadshows. I also got a cleaning cloth and a diary pen combo that's also part of the roadshows and all this is totally free of cost.

What's In My Bag - Tech Bag 2022 - ZERO BUDGET BACKPACK (FREE)

5. Tripods - I got some tripods from several events (Huawei, Canon etc) that are used to carry the phone or the camera in case required with the latest one from Nikon and the same they were selling at their shop for R10 also.

6. Travel Kit - I got a travel kit bag from DJI Global when they launched DJI Mavic Mini and since then I keep all my cables, pen drives etc in the bag. All cables came free with smartphones I use and pen drives were also part of the launch event goodies.

7. Pens and Notepads - I use some pens that can write smoothly with fine tips so anytime I attend any conference, I get to see a wide variety of pens - plastic, metal and unique ones so the one that catches my attention I use for some time. I totally love my Emirates, Ster Kinekor Prestige and Singapore Airlines pens. I am using the Payflex notepad for Bullet journalling that I got from the Money/eCommerce Expo last year. And remember, if this is your very first time using Payflex to shop, use coupon code PAYSMART100 in the Payflex checkout for R100 off when you spend R600 or more.

The purpose of the pens and notebooks is to doodle and think and write ideas on the go. I totally write down all the tasks pending on me in a small journal and then strike off once I complete them.

8. Earphones/Headphones - I use wired Beats Solo HD headphones that I received long back and Huawei FreeLace which I also got at one of their launch events. Recently I received VIVO TWS Air wireless earphones that I am using as I have passed my Huawei FreeBuds4i to my daughter. Very soon I am moving to the Nokia Essential Headphones as they are more comfortable and packed in their own bag to have both wires and a wireless experience. All these items are trade exchanges or won from the contests or from goodies bags so totally free of cost.

9. Powerbanks - I am using a Huawei 20000mAh power bank that I received when they launched the Sandton City store last year. Earlier I was using Samsung Powerbank 8400mAh that I received at the launch event of the Samsung Galaxy S6.

10. Portable Hard Disk - I use this Adata HD710 Pro 1 TB that I won at the rAge Expo way back in 2017. I also bought Seagate SSD for which I won ZAR 2000 gift voucher but I paid over and above that ZAR 300 so didn't include it in this zero-budget backpack.

11. Smartphones - I use Samsung smartphones as I won Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 when it was launched in South Africa during the launch event itself so that's my day-to-day smartphone of choice since that time. I also got a ZAR 1000 voucher that I spent on buying the Leather cover for the same. I also use Samsung Note 20 5G phone that I also won during the previous launch events and has been my companion since then. The cover for the same I bought using the gift vouchers for takealot that you can earn if you have an FNB credit card and eBucks.

12. Smart Watch - I use Huawei Watch GT2e as I received the same during the 2021 Christmas gift they sent me. I have covered 1000 km in 2022 using the same device.

13. Water bottles - I have multiple water bottles that I received from various brands but my mom also likes them so I generally give them away to her. My Telkom Music waterbottle I kept it in case so that I can give it to her. I have received a water bottle from YouTube Shorts that is going to be my daily drinking partner.

14. Lip Balms and Lotions - These are from the travel kits that they give you when you travel in business class or when you go to any hotel. I use those ones till they are finished and keep other ones if required thereafter.

15. MP3 Player - The only Apple item in my backpack is iPod Shuffle which has been with me since the start and is now around 12 years. I won one in London from McDonald's contest in 2011.

Let me know if you liked my video and if any items I have missed packing and showing you in my backpack. Let me know if you are building your backpack as well and what all times form part of the same.

Cheers!!!

New Year Resolutions - Week 34 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay

Hi Friends,

Week 34 - Sat 20 Aug 2022 - Fri 26 Aug 2022

Week 34 started with a great Canon World Photography Day 2022 event where Canon called us to Krugersdorp and set up a space to take photographs and learn from various industry leaders and influencers. I really enjoyed the programme and also got to meet Roger Machin once again and he offered his advice on various queries I had. It was a great opportunity to meet Senzelwe, Matthew and Khalipha as well. I got really impressed by the work being done by Kierran. I am always grateful to Canon for all the goodies they have given to everyone in their roadshows and various launch events.

1. Walking - This week I only did 10.5 kilometres and took the thing to around 656 kilometres as compared to the target of 680 kilometres.

2. Entertainment - I watched the Delhi Crime Season 2 all episodes in a single day with my wife. This was the first time I put effort to watch the series at 1x speed and let it go. I generally watch everything at 1.5x or that kind of speed. Season 2 is nice and with a new intense storyline, you get to learn more insight into the Police Department.
New Year Resolutions - Week 34 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay
3. Launch Events - Huawei invited me to their Huawei Wearables launch event and I also got my own personal Huawei Watch Fit 2 in blue strap colour. I have to start using the same in the near future as it has a lot of new features including a built-in speaker to attend to calls and listen to music on the go. Right after the same, I got to attend Samsung's Content Creators event in collaboration with several influencers and it was awesome too as it showcased the power of the new foldable launched last month.
4. Thank You - The counter moved from 42000 onwards to close at 80634 by the end of the week. With the same power of gratitude, this week the maximum I earned was USD 2.79 on 25-Aug. I could not break the last month's highest but that's fine and I am working towards creating more and more videos.
5. World Photography Day Event - I posted a lot of photos for Canon but didn't win anything but I am okay with the same as I totally enjoyed taking those photos. I know my strengths and I love what I do without post-processing as I always believed in taking the right photos from the camera directly I am still an old-minded film camera lover since 1984 or so when I first picked up the Pentax camera and took the photographs using the same till 2000. You can watch the photos shot on my Instagram handle.
Sometimes in life, you win and sometimes you lose but carry on participating in all the contests and someday you will win the one you always wanted to win. I have in my life won more contests than the gifts I received from brands. I have won whatever I have desired sooner or later as per the criteria to win set by the contests along with the blessings of the Lord Almighty. It reminds me that I am not doing the daily prayers for many months now. I have to restart the same and set daily targets or weekly targets for the same too.

Cheers!!!

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Feb 2021 www.thelifesway.com #TheLifesWay

Hi Friends,

February 2021 I didn't do much of the posts as I started on a new project and was really busy as I was trying to learn the ropes. I was so grateful in 2022 that I was not only doing a lot of prayers but also getting a lot of goodies from various new brands which contacted me on their own. I celebrated my marriage anniversary at the Hard Rock Cafe last year and this year I celebrated alone as my wife went on a trip to India.

1. From the Rat Race to Financial Freedom - 2nd Edition by Manoj Arora #BookReview #FinancialFreedom - https://www.thelifesway.com/2021/02/from-rat-race-to-financial-freedom-2nd.html - The Rate Race to Financial Freedom released their second edition and I re-read the same and followed some of the principles in the book and I intend to read it again. Manoj Sir has also launched another book named FOOPS! also, I am ordering a physical copy to read once I receive it here.

2. Every Day is Pizza Day! #SugarsBakery #Edenvale #Pizza - https://www.thelifesway.com/2021/02/every-day-is-pizza-day-sugarsbakery.html - I was invited to Sugars Bakery to try out some of their products, especially pizza and really loved the bakery. The desserts and loaves of bread are also nice at the bakery. There is also live music on the weekends and ample parking for everyone to enjoy the same. You should definitely try the same.
A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Feb 2021 www.thelifesway.com #TheLifesWay
3. Musical Maestro to Serenade #SouthAfrican Fans This Valentine’s Day @BluBloodSA - https://www.thelifesway.com/2021/02/musical-maestro-to-serenade.html - It was a nice concert during the lockdown last year and I totally loved the amazing performance of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan on Valentine's Day of 2021.

I ordered the expensive Canon printer cartridges (almost the cost of the new printer) for the first time from Takealot.com but the same got over really soon and then the printer again went into hibernation mode. I really felt that it didn't print the mentioned amount of papers in colour and black n white. I felt that one should never buy these cheap printers costing around R1000 but rather go for the ink tank based desk printers for home. They are expensive to buy initially but the cost of operation is really cheap as you can see the ink at all times and it will work for a long long time.

I watched Drishyam 2 in its original language Malayalam and it was worth watching. I am still waiting for the Hindi sequel to come if it will ever but really enjoyed watching the same.

Cheers!!!

Thousands of photos on InstagramTwitter, and Facebook
Thanks to everyone who contributed and collaborated in the growth of The Life's Way!

2020 has been an internal and external struggle between myself and the brands who were not providing me with any value in terms of any invites, review units or media or press drops or sponsored gadgets from time to time. Internal struggle in terms of heartbreaks I did of the executives working for the various PR companies who have been in constant touch with me for multiple years but didn't realize that I could say No. External struggle in terms of some of the brands taking my name off their lists of press releases and other invites whatsoever or anything happenings around their products.

Meanwhile, I took out all the thousands of posts done for many brands in the mid of 2020 but then at the end of 2020, I thought that I have done all the hard work to put them on my blog so why take them down. It's bringing me some traffic and if the brand notices this then it will be a favour from my end to them considering my heart is bigger than them. Thought this kind of emotional atyachaar is not valued in the business world but I am an emotional fool.

The biggest moment of my life was getting to meet Technical Guruji at Delhi Airport in Jan 2020
Let's start on the achievements and gratefulness for the gadgets and products received during 2020 even when it was lockdown for most of the part in Johannesburg, South Africa. Sometimes in life, you just have to ask the universe or the person in charge of something you desire and wants to have in your life. My first such experience came through when I asked the Huawei PR company for FreeBuds 3 and out of the blue they told me that we can give you one to blog about and keep also. I just picked up the same before the lockdown started in Johannesburg from their office. Many thanks and the same has been my partner in crime since the whole year or so.

Similarly, I have been eyeing a great audio product from 1More called Stylish earbuds but they told me that a new one is coming on the market soon and you can review that one. I waited for some time and when the lockdown opened for the courier to start delivering - I received this awesome device called 1More ColorBuds which also my wife and I am using on a daily basis. She is using it more for her morning and evening walks and yoga exercises and I am only using it to attend to some office calls on MS Teams.

1More ColorBuds
This year I joined the Huawei Developers Program and received some goodies from them from time to time by participating in their contests and attending their development sessions throughout the year. From t-shirts to pen drives to mugs to some of their most sought after products, you can win them all. I won some of the audio speakers I always wanted to have and also one of the Huawei Band 4e for my daughter just before her birthday.

I upgraded myself from Samsung Note 8 (Bought from Amazon India in 2018) to Note 20 this year and it was a great feeling. I still feel that the camera on the Note 8 is better as compared to the Note 20 but thanks to Samsung for always creating new devices. This year I got invited to their online launch event after a gap of at least 3 years and got to eat some of the great snacks and drinks and check out the various products on display at their office.

I also started using the Canon EOS M50 camera for shooting my youtube content and felt so great to become one of the vloggers in the world who trust their M50 to the core. Most of the videos on my Youtube channel as well as my daughter's Keisha Youtube channel are shot using the M50 camera. If you have not followed me on the channel, please hit the Subscribe button.

The photo was taken using Vivo Mobile X50 Pro
vivo Mobile send me their X50 Pro Smartphone for review and also one of their new Neo TWS earphones which are still not used by me and will be unboxed in 2021 on my youtube channel. I totally loved the smartphone and wanted to hold onto the same but the budgets were not there to sponsor me the same. My wife wants to own the phone which I will gift her after buying it from India as the price difference is really huge and it's almost half the price there.

26th Jan 2020 was the day when we met again after a long gap of many years since our MBA together!
After a gap of many years, Montecasino sponsored my 40th birthday dinner at one of my favourite restaurants named Thava Indian Restaurant and I had a quiet lovely delicious dinner with my family during the lockdown restrictions were relaxed. I also got the chance to join various other dinner and lunch events by Dine Jozi Style - Edward and enjoy some of the great evenings in the great company of like-minded people.

My best friend since June 1997 first day of Engineering College
I also got to do some of the sponsored posts for Mattel which Keisha did on her Youtube channel and if you like her videos and wants to send her products to review do send me an email and we can feature your products and toys.

My first time to Golden Temple in Amritsar in Jan 2020
We also visited India in Jan 2020 and had an awesome trip in Dubai (Feb 2020) on our return where we got to see the famous sightseeing points in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. I really enjoyed it but we didn't shop as 4 days is too little to go on a shopping spree in Dubai if you are a first time visitor. My brother too flew in from California and he hired a Land Cruiser Prado which made roaming around in Dubai much easier.

At the end of the year, for the first time in the life of The Life's Way - I received the Christmas Gifts from Samsung in terms of Galaxy Buds Live and from Huawei too in terms of Huawei Watch GT2e which are going to my daily devices in 2021. I still have to unbox them and start enjoying which I am planning to do it on the 8th anniversary day of my blog i.e. 27th December 2020. Before this, I only received a Christmas gift from Montecasino once long ago maybe in 2015 which were some gingerbread snacks and a soft toy.

Thanks to all of the readers, brands and PR companies for trusting me with your products and services. I hope I have been able to do justice to them. I look forward to a great 2021 for my blog and youtube channel and will focus on getting the niche which is Lifestyle and Technology. Have a great festive season and a Merry Christmas and wishing you all a great Happy New Year 2021!

Cheers!!!

Heartiest Congratulations to myself for completing 6 years into a hobby that has become a passion and something I think of every day and night. This feat could not be possible without the help of each and every person working in the PR company, brands I worked with and my family, friends and well wishers. This year 2018 has been extremely good as our family welcomed a new member as my son was born on 29th January 2018 and in some days now, we will celebrate his first birthday.

2018 saw The Life's Way crossing 2.1 Million Pageviews and overall increase in all the social media platforms and the special focus was on Instagram. I really loved sharing the photos and videos on Instagram and in December I thought to clean the same and reduce the count of posts to less than 1000 from more than 4900 posts. The work is still in progress and I am doing it daily till I reach the goal of less than 500 or so.

The biggest gift I earned for myself was from Canon South Africa for their Instagram Meet where I was the Engagement Winner to win myself Canon 77D DSLR camera along with a 32gb SD card. I really am thankful to the brand for all their roadshows and gifts which everyone received to attend those shows. It's much more than you get from any of the biggest brands in the Technology Industry which are these days giving some low quality bluetooth earphones or speakers.

The very first gift to start the year was from Lenovo in the form of their Mouse and Diary with Pen. I really loved the design of the mouse but I was not invited to their 2nd launch which happened some days back. Xiaomi via Gearbest.com sent me their Mi2 Band and Mi Health Thermometer which are really useful devices and there will be a video on my Youtube channel for those items soon. Samsung launched their Note 9 and during a display in Sandton City, I won myself their U Flex Bluetooth Earphones. MandM and Hasbro continued their support for my blog by sending their Media drops from time to time.

Huawei invited me to all their launch events and I received some of the goodies for all the attendees but this year I was also the winner of their Huawei Mate 20 Lite smartphones because of my engagement with the brand. I have gifted the smartphone to my wife who was not happy with Android devices and let's see if Mate 20 Lite can keep her happy?

Gammatek was one of the brands which I promoted a lot via my posts and they gifted me some of their items in return. But overall, I participated in a lot of events at MTN where I worked the whole year and got a lot of goodies from popcorns to earphones at their head office in Johannesburg. The another big things I won this year was the MSI Gaming Keyboard at rAge Expo 2018 and I really loved the mechanical keyboard which is a boon for gamers! Adata gifted me their first 3D EMIX i30 earphones which I really loved and use them everyday. My wife too won their 1TB portable hdd in their facebook contest.
6 Years of www.TheLifesWay.com #TheLifesWay #Birthday #Blogpost #6YearsofTheLifesWay #1675thPost
This year I gifted a lot of new items (received from events etc) which I was not using to many of my relatives in India and to my friends here in South Africa. The people who received it felt happy and I continue to do so in 2019 too as items I want for myself are still from last year's wish list which remained unfulfilled in 2018 - Apple MacBook Pro (Top Priority) and Bose QC35 Bluetooth headphones, PS4 Pro, and a Full Frame DSLR camera.

The strategy this year is to earn the same by either doing a lot of sponsored posts or by selling the old stuff I have not used till date. Meanwhile, while I was writing this post, I realized that most of the items I received were from the contests I won online or offline at events and not from the blog. The blog may have some influence but nothing much that can't be worked out using Instagram, Twitter and Facebook channels only. But running a blog gives you an edge to participate as an influencer in many events and with many brands that the first necessity. I will continue to publish my own content on my blog and also the posts I seem interested in from various brands for mutual benefits. The next step will be to update my media pack from being a long presentation to a 1 page document.

Life is running fast and I need to read some books, watch some movies and fall in love with myself all over again. I can't be doing stuff which is not earning me income or pleasure of any kind. That's it for 2018!

Cheers!!!

@CanonRSA Revolutionises The Future of Photography and Filmmaking #EOSR #Liveforthestory

Hi Friends,

Canon Europe, the world leader in imaging solutions, has redefined the frontiers of photography and filmmaking with the launch of the pioneering EOS R System. Over thirty years on from the original, era-defining EOS launch, the bold, new EOS R System will once again expand photographic possibilities in countless ways. The new RF lens mount has been engineered with the perfect blend of optical, mechanical and electronic design to capture unique moments in previously impossible ways.
@CanonRSA Revolutionises The Future of Photography and Filmmaking #EOSR #Liveforthestory
A pioneering lens mount, built from the best of EOS legacy
Since its inception in 1987, the EOS System – including Cinema EOS – has grown into the most recognized imaging system in the world. Today’s introduction takes the EOS platform to new heights, incorporating the best from the existing system, with even greater levels of performance, lens design possibilities, and creative flexibility. The new RF mount has been built on the strengths of the existing EF mount and is the result of detailed research by Canon engineers, who have designed an impressive optical system with a flange back distance of 20mm and a wide 54mm diameter lens mount - allowing for even greater freedom when designing lenses. The new mount’s 12-pin connection enables enhanced communication and power transmission between the lens and camera body, further enhancing lens design options, resulting in higher image quality and enhanced usability.

Mr. Yuichi Ishizuka, President, and CEO, Canon Europe, Middle East & Africa, commented: “When we launched the EOS System 30 years ago, we sent a clear message that the future of photography was here. Now, as one of the most iconic imaging systems in the world, our commitment remains. Canon will continue to invest in the unrivaled EOS world with cameras, lenses, and accessories that set new heights in image quality, optical excellence, and performance, all while satisfying the ever-evolving needs and demands of its customers.”

Exceptional quality in every detail

Built from the ground up, the new System has been re-engineered with invaluable input during the System’s development from professional and enthusiast photographers and filmmakers. The EOS R System with RF mount and Dual Pixel CMOS AF delivers unrivaled optical excellence, the world’s fastest autofocus[i] and faster communication between camera and lens. Features that are synonymous with EOS – fast performance, superb ergonomics and superior, uncompromising, image quality – remain at the heart of the EOS R System.

Featuring innovative technology for photography and filmmaking alike, the EOS R System allows all users to shoot and film in extremely low light with accurate focusing, thanks to Dual Pixel CMOS AF. Small and discreet, the EOS R System gives flexibility, plus the advantage of silent shooting. It also offers the highest standard of movie output from any Canon EOS System camera, outside of the Cinema EOS range, enabling filmmakers to take their storytelling to the next level in 4K with output in 10-bit over HDMI. The whole system has refined handling and enhanced ergonomics, including an electronic viewfinder and extensive customization, allowing the user to the focus on the subject rather than the camera.

A system designed with lenses at its core
The EOS R System inherits all the existing system advantages, importantly full compatibility with existing EF and EF-S lenses and accessories[ii], when using one of three newly-developed lens adapters, expanding the boundaries of image capture. Canon has today also launched four new lenses, compatible with the EOS R System – the RF 28-70mm f/2L USM, RF 50mm f/1.2L USM, RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM and RF 35mm f/1.8 MACRO IS STM. Building on Canon’s lens heritage, these high-performance lenses will push forward the frontiers of creative capture thanks to the new cutting-edge optics and advanced image processing for both stills and video. Additionally, users of existing Canon EOS full frame or APS-C DSLR cameras can enjoy the EOS R System with their existing EF and EF-S lenses thanks to the adapters, while retaining the same performance as when used on a DSLR, as well as access to EOS accessories and Speedlite flashes.

Hi Friends,

Canon, world leader in imaging solutions, today builds on its iconic and uncompromising full frame range with the launch of the new EOS R and the first camera with the innovative, new RF Mount. Featuring the fastest autofocus in the world[i] and as the world’s first camera with the ability to focus in light conditions as low as -6EV[ii], it is the perfect tool of choice for professional results with every shot. The all-new RF lens line-up builds on Canon’s optical excellence and heritage, whilst the accompanying accessories offer photographers and filmmakers greater creative and customisation options than ever before.

EOS R
Built from the ground up, the pioneering EOS R System delivers an entirely new level of innovation, enabling richer, more detailed results, with unparalleled levels of sharpness and detail. EOS R is the first camera to feature the RF lens mount with a 12-pin connection, flange back distance of 20mm and a wide 54mm mount diameter enabling even greater flexibility in lens design.

Through the combination of high-performance RF lenses, a 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor with approximately 30.3 million effective pixels[iii] and the latest DIGIC 8 image processor, the EOS R enables consistently high-quality imagery. Digital Lens Optimizer, which corrects factors such as lens aberrations, draws on the power of RF lenses to send correction data to the camera body, minimising impact on continuous shooting speed[iv]

Boasting the world’s fastest autofocus – in as little as 0.05 seconds[v] - and the ability to seamlessly capture moving subjects fast and accurately, with up to 8fps continuous shooting (fixed AF) and 5fps with AF tracking, EOS R enables consistently confident use. The EOS R has Touch and Drag AF, which enables intuitive selection of the impressive 5,655 AF points[vi] - more than any other camera in its class. As the world’s first camera to enable low-light autofocusing down to -6 EV[vii], the EOS R is optimised for low-light shooting thanks to the advanced Electronic Viewfinder (EVF), with 3.69 million dots, provides 100 percent coverage of the scene, making it possible to see subjects in accurate colour even in near-dark.
@CanonRSA Launches New Full Frame Camera and Lenses With New #EOSR System #LiveForTheStory
The EOS R features completely silent shooting for total discretion in even the most intimate of shooting environments, making it ideal for photojournalists or wedding photographers.

EOS R is a highly accomplished filmmaking tool delivering stunning 4K video footage featuring full audio control, a vari-angle screen and manual focus peaking. Additionally, filmmakers can output in 10-bit over HDMI with Canon Log also enables filmmakers to capture footage in neutral contrast, with up to 12-stops of dynamic range at ISO 400, allowing post-production grading to extract every subtle nuance of colour and detail in shadows and highlights.

Almost every control on the EOS body is customisable, bringing new levels of personalisation and operability to EOS users. The familiar, yet refined, EOS ergonomics and reassuring handling – including the weather-sealed robust magnesium alloy body – allows users to shoot for longer periods, enjoying the comfortable hand grip and intuitive layout. As a first for Canon’s EOS camera series, the EOS R features a customisable multi-function bar, which can be personalised using a slide or touch motion for preferred settings such as ISO. Designed for those on the move, always-on Bluetooth allows a smartphone to be paired with the EOS R and GPS data recorded in images. For additional creative capture, remote shooting via the Canon Camera Connect app offers freedom for flexible shooting.

As a newly introduced feature for all RF lenses, all will feature a customisable Control Ring that users can use to adjust aperture, shutter speed, ISO or exposure compensation – which means there is no need to look away from the subject and risk breaking concentration - as well as intuitive ergonomics for a natural shooting experience.

Cutting-edge optics

The RF lens mount enables a radical new optical design – the 20mm flange back and wide 54mm mount diameter has made it possible for Canon engineers to design new lenses that weren’t possible before. With lenses remaining at the foundation of the EOS System – Canon today also launches four new EOS R lenses, which are expanding the possibilities of optical excellence. Setting new standards of quality and speed, the RF 50mm f/1.2L USM is an extremely fast 50mm f/1.2 L-series prime lens – making it the fastest lens in its class - offering extraordinary levels of detail, supreme sharpness, stunning shallow depth of field and remarkable low-light performance. The RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM is an L-series zoom lens and the first full frame Canon lens to feature Nano USM - ideal for filmmakers when smooth focusing is a must for natural looking focus transitions, giving superb control and smooth tracking of the subject as it moves away or towards the camera. It is slim and easy to handle, and also features a fixed f/4 aperture. The fast, silent autofocus and 5-stops of image stabilization make it perfect for movie making.
@CanonRSA Launches New Full Frame Camera and Lenses With New #EOSR System #LiveForTheStory
A fast-aperture, versatile, standard zoom lens, the RF 28-70mm f/2L USM offers new levels of creativity as it becomes the world’s first large-aperture full frame compatible standard zoom, offering f/2 brightness throughout the zoom range. Furthermore, the lens barrel has a shock absorbing mechanism that achieves excellent impact resistance for toughness, and durability. Lastly, the RF 35mm f/1.8 MACRO IS STM – a super-fast 35mm f/1.8 macro lens – is ideal for street, travel and close-up photography, offering a naturally wide-angle perspective, close-up focusing and Hybrid IS. The focus, aperture and IS drive system are all integrated into one unit.

Every lens at your fingertip
Three new lens mount adapters allow more than 70 EF and EF-S lenses[viii] to be used with the innovative EOS R System, adding new functionality to existing optics, while maintaining the excellent levels of performance and functionality previously seen with EOS DSLRs[ix]. The Canon mount adapter adds the control ring found on RF lenses to enable users to maintain their setup whether using RF or EF and EF-S mount lenses. The drop-in filter mount adapter offers the ability to use a range of drop-in filters (drop-in circular polarizing filter or drop-in variable ND filter). Ideal for filmmakers and for use with lenses that are difficult to add filters to, the drop-in variable ND filter density filter controls exposure, whilst the circular polariser reduces reflections and enhances colour saturation – both ideal for capturing stunning imagery that great storytelling demands.
