15 Days To www.TheLifesWay.com 5th Birthday Celebrations #5YearsofTheLifesWay #27Dec2017 #Nikon

Hi  Friends,

I am acting on my resolutions and finishing all the pending tasks and assignments or product reviews so that backlog is totally clear and I can focus on the opportunities ahead. I see that backlog causes a lot of discomforts as you are not able to feel good about yourself. I have always assumed that I will do them later but it's now or never. The context of those posts will be old and no one will want to read them but it's my blog and if I am feeling uneasy, it will affect my next posts so better clear them off. I am getting good ideas for the new posts and will start implementing the same from the month of April as I want to finish all my pending self-written articles in March.

Now, these articles about the countdown are old too but I could not finish them any sooner so let's check out the story I have to tell here. The Life's Way has been my with me even before I really got together and bought the domain. All my life I have been a curious photographer and took thousands and thousands of photos using all kinds of cameras. Panasonic FZ5 used to be my go-to camera when I was in living in London. It helped me click on all my India trips and in Johannesburg too during my initial days here.

15 Days To www.TheLifesWay.com 5th Birthday Celebrations #5YearsofTheLifesWay #27Dec2017 #Nikon
An Elephant Charging at me while I am unaware of at the Paul Kruger Gate with my shoulder Nikon Bag
Then my dream of owning a DSLR came to reality in 2014 when I ordered Nikon's D7000 from Flipkart India. It felt so great as I opened the box of the same and the photo quality on D7000 is awesome. I ordered the one with Nikon's Lens 18-105mm which covered me well. Sooner I felt the need to go telephoto so I bought Sigma 70-300mm from Incredible Connection at Sandton City using the Gift Voucher my friends gave me at my birthday party for some of the amounts. Sigma Lens is also great and I have been able to take amazing pictures using the same. Again, I felt the need of owning a Nikon Flash and bought the best one available in the market named SB-910 with Panasonic batteries which also cost a fortune. All the money to buy Nikon Flash came from paid posts of Indiblogger India via Flipkart India gift vouchers. Again, last year I wanted to go for a prime lens and finally decided to go with Nikon 35mm which again I bought from Amazon India and used it extensively during my cousin's wedding. I have bought some filters from several brands to go on lenses as I took a lot of photos on children birthdays and kids can touch the lens anytime so I bought them at the Photo and Film Expo in Johannesburg. That's my story of Nikon DSLR but let's talk about the 2 launch events I attended with Nikon in India and Johannesburg.

During my first Nikon India launch event in New Delhi, they gifted everyone with a DSLR camera strap, 4GB Lexar Card and a Tshirt. SD card came to help immediately and Tshirt I am still wearing but the DSLR strap I am still keeping in my bags as the one that came with the camera is still going on. Maybe in future, I can go and replace it with the gifted one. The second trip was a Nikon Walk in Johannesburg CBD where they gave us Nikon Silicon Water bottles and Nikon Caps and those two items I have gifted/used and forgotten about totally since now. I have not been using any caps since last 2 years as earlier in winters I always used to wear them day-in-day-out, that's a habit of staying in London where the weather is really windy and cold. Checkout the photographs I took using my Nikon equipment on my Instagram page or my photo blog PhotoYatra.

Now the next items I would love to buy from Nikon will be a full-frame camera along with 60mm lens and 10-24mm lens and 150-600mm lens to go wildlife and portrait photography. But as this will need at least R100k to setup, I need to win a lottery or fortune at one of the Johannesburg casinos. There are still some small items I can buy like Nikon Remote and a second battery for Nikon D7000 and a Nikon camera backpack as I got the shoulder bag with my camera which has met its life now. Let's see how much I will be able to achieve in 2018 then will sort out the Nikon's stuff as it's like a big pandora box where you need to keep investing if you are in love with Photography.

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Jan 2014

Hi Guys,

Jan 2014 was the time when I was fully here in South Africa and has to remain here until the next holidays comes in Dec 2014. I was still getting my Internet connection sorted as I could not get something which can give me unlimited data at cheaper price. I started posting some photographs which I clicked to maintain my Indiblogger rank.

1. Photo Walk - Gardens of the Nature - I started sharing some of the photographs of flowers which I clicked across various places and countries. This is one of the walks that I would love to take whenever I have time and camera with me. This is a series of posts which will continue this year too. Have a look!

2. Moments of Silence - We went to Drankensburg National Park and I clicked this bird which is equivalent to Indian sparrow and posted the same with a catchy title.

- Another photo posts.

4. Social Apps impact on Indian General Elections 2014 - Indiblogger & WeChat contest in which I participated but couldn't make it to the winner's list.

5. Indiblogger Sunsilk - Recharging my hairs and life! - Another Indiblogger contest with Sunsilk but didn't make it to the winner's list. It was a huge disappointment for me as I was not able to win any contest in Jan from a place where I was winning a lot many prizes the previous year.

As new year starts, we all make some resolutions and my resolution was to work on my blog and made a goal to cross 100,000 pageviews using 500 blogposts by 31 Dec 2014. I was still looking to get some 100 pageviews per day at that time and it seemed like a huge task for which I had to plan and execute.

The Journey to achieve this goal continues in the next posts...
Cheers!!!

Fly in the Rain

Hi Guys,

The harder I try the more difficult it becomes.
Drifting of past into current spoils all the future.
Love is losing in this ugly blame game.
Ego has taken over all my sane.
Life is seemingly dull, gloomy & silver lining chain.
A ray of hope is nowhere to be seen.
Relationships are easy to enter and hard to follow.
It's a path which I undertook.
Smiles have made the way for the pains.
But I still can't believe I am enjoying this rain.
Life giving soul has left for the change.
I live free and fly for the gain!!!

Cheers!!!

Divine Embrace

Hi guys!

Behind all my smiles there's sad and lonely face!
What's happening in my heart, I am the only one to face!
There is no one with whom, I can share this edgy phase!
Long nights of thoughts and days of dilemma passes just like a long elongated phrase!
No where in the world I am finding the solace!

Vulnerable I may seem but still I am ready to chase!
The long forgotten dreams of childhood is lost in the race!
Everyone near and dear have set their memories to erase!
I travel alone till I meet God's grace!
And then I rest in eternity with divine embrace!!!

Cheers!!!

Photo Walk - Water and it's fall

Hi Guys,

Gravity and it's ways are same for everyone and sometimes this makes the equation really nice for visual pleasures only in case of water. We don't like other things falling from the sky on us.

The water looks as pure and white when it splits itself into many parts and then rejoins again after the fall.

It gives us hope that we too can be broken down by expectations, self criticisms and other goals but after the fall we can again find our broken parts and regain all the strength to continue the life's journey.
Yeah, there will be something of us which will be left behind as it was too small that it could not regain itself after the fall - It will be our "Ego" that during the fall will encounter a lot of shattering and that's best for us.

The lesser you are proud, the more you will be humble to accept the fact that you too have seen the fall.

Cheers!!!

JUSTICE is Served

Hi Guys,

Sometimes Justice takes a lot of time and generations to be served in it's right context. But no matter how much delay is caused, it will be served sooner or later. Generations loses hope as it takes time to bring impartiality in it's judgement which doesn't go well with today's youth.
So, it's time we chose to take the sword in our own hands with the right power of VOTING, our democracy gives us. We can chose our leader who can then serve the justice as and when required with full force.
Once it is served, everyone should be satisfied with it's results. Everyone knows in their hearts, what bad or good they have done in their lives and they will be judged on it without any discrimination.

Cheers!!!

Photo Walk - Gardens of the Nature 6

Hi Guys,

Amazing are the colors of nature and I love it a lot. I visited Walter Sisulu Botanical Garden in Roodepoort, Johanesburg and came across some of the beautiful creations of nature. Check them on facebook

Stay Together to bring beauty all around you.

So what if it's a day, I can create a twinkling effect right in full sunshine!

Blood is all around in Game of Thrones and so am I, full of color!

The Power of One - I want world peace and a uniformity all around to treat everyone as one!

I am omnidirectional and collecting all the negativity to convert it into Smiles, joy and laughter!

The moon shining bright amongst the twinkling stars and so can you! The yellow represents the SOUL that is the living force for all of us to shine brighter and brighter!

Every moment is great when you are one with nature! Do go and take a walk in a park near you and enjoy the beauty!

Cheers!!!

Photo Walk - Gardens of the Nature 5

Hi Guys,

Nature is so unique and brings in a lot of satisfaction to the heart if you open your eyes to it. I enjoyed a lot of it as my room was just next to the back garden in London. Some of these snaps were taken when Roses were in full bloom in there. I really enjoyed watching them grow and they also brings in a lot of fragrance in the air.

A bunch of them together filling in the colors of the rainbow. A bouquet of these when presented together can bring SMILES to anyone & anywhere in the world.

The unique symmetry of the flowers and it's whole build makes you wonder the design capabilities that nature has. Even Burj Khalifa design is inspired by a flower which is also mentioned on it's wikipedia page.

Leaving you all with the though of fresh rains on the rose leaves and the several memories that strikes your heart and brains at the same time. Everyone will have a memory that they will remember seeing the fresh dew drops on the flowers.
Keep enjoying nature and I hope that I will be able to capture more soon here in Johannesburg.

Cheers!!!

Product Review – Seagate Expansion Desktop Drive – 3 TB @Seagate

Hi People,

I have been always a data cruncher which means no matter what’s the source, I want all the data downloaded on my laptop. Due to this tendency, I have always been short of hard disk space. As in South Africa, Internet usage is the most expensive thing to do and you will be sharing the movies/music or other important data only using your portable HDD's or ever-increasing capacities of pen drives.

My journey with portable hard disks started when my brother gifted me his 40GB HDD from his Sony Playstation 3 and replaced the PS3 with 200 GB one way back in 2009. It was good to have and really sorted out my need at that point in time but as HD data started to come into the market, so was the need to store the same.
I bought a Transcend 640 GB HDD on my birthday from Nehru Place, New Delhi, India and took the same to London. It was working fine but one day when I was copying some 100GB of songs from a friends laptop, it got corrupted and since then it's not been working. I have contacted customer care but all they say is that your cable is not right whereas I am using the supplied cable. Pathetic! Never ever I thought I will buy Transcend ever again.
I was in London and Curry's offered a deal on Western Digital Elements portable 1 TB HDD and I bought it in 2010. I do think about it as it was more of an American brand which was not much popular in India and the UK. But nevertheless, I bought it and made my friends bought the same also. I blogged about the same here and it's one of my top posts. It's working perfectly well and in full capacity but then I wanted more data to be stored. The more you capture photographs or video's, the more you require disk space in your laptop or HDD. All my multimedia devices were full and took a long time to start also.
Hence the decision to buy Seagate Expansion Desktop Drive with 3 TB HDD capacity so that I can just dump everything in one corner of my room and if required can refer back to the same.
It's an awesome and beautiful device which offers 2.72 TB of space to users. The transfer speed is based on USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 connections. It took some time to transfer data but all my devices are able to breathe freely now with much more memory available for Operating systems to do their cleaning and regular stuff.
I got this one from an electronics store - DION WIRED which offered the same on sale at R1400 from its regular price of R1900. It was much cheaper here as compared to the Indian market and my friend immediately wanted one for his Nikon D600 photography and his trip to GIR National Park where he captured 72GB of images in a span of 2-3 days. His camera is featured on my blog here

The online reviews for this HDD are not so great but I need to try it further to believe in them. Till that time, I am taking it ahead with my gut feeling and copying all my personal stuff etc in the same. I hope Seagate has not lost out on customer grievances as Transcend and will fully replace my device in case something crashes, unlike Transcend where that 640GB HDD is kissing the dust in my store at Gurgaon.

Cheers!!!

Twitter Goodies - Incredible Connection #Selfie Contest

Hi Guys,

I have been in South Africa since Nov 2013 and was really missing all the competitions and winnings that I used to do in India, so I thought of trying out the Twitter space here. I started following various brands and companies I was aware of and came across @IncConnection . It's a electronic retail store here and is always active on social media space. They launched a contest on the occasion of Valentine's week to send them selfies with the people you love. My selfie with my daughter fetched me "ON THE SPOT" Award and I received these awesome goodies. A Flexible LED Light for laptops and an Ouann multimedia headset with microphones.

Flexible LED was in my wish list from many a days so I felt really great to receive the same. But as you know, I love headphones and these ones are not that great of the likes of Sennheiser or Sony or Skull Candy that I have already in my kitty.

It was my first win here in South Africa and I really thank Incredible Connection for the same.

Cheers!!!

Fortitude is automatic

Hi Guys,

FORTITUDE is courage in pain or adversity and it comes to all of us automatically when we see someone close to us in pain or facing some situations where he/she might need our help or their lives is in danger.

We all must have faced these situations and when we fight for someone we love, we feel good. The human emotions are all made up of helping and supporting each other through thick and thin. We all try to share our joys and our problems because that is what brings us together and closer to each other.

Cheers!!!

Photo Walk - Wild Safaris in South Africa

Hi Guys,

This is a new series of posts of all the wild jungles we have here in South Africa. It's a beautiful country with a lot of country side, a lot of forest/game reserves, jungle safaris, rivers, mountains, plains, trekking and adventure sports.

In this feature I will introduce you to a lot of animals which we can see in the forest reserves running here and there. I might not know their names but will post a guide too which contains their names.

These pictures were taken using my ages old Panasonic FZ5Camera in a game reserve we went to for seeing elephants, lions, leopards etc but could not find any of the BIG 5 as they call them here.
All we could see was these Antelopes having morning walk around the jungle.

Cheers!!!

Photo Walk - Gardens of the Nature 4

Hi Guys,

It's been a while that I have not posted any snaps of the flowers. Here are some more from the collections of snaps I have. I don't have a DSLR yet and I am only using my Panasonic FZ5Camera to take snaps. The reason for not buying a DSLR is because I want to have Nikon D600 Full frame camera and don't want to buy Nikon D7100 now and repent later. Though all cameras are good and it depends on the person behind the camera but then also I want to buy the best.

Violet is the color of royalty.

White flowers with dark green leaves gives the feeling of peace and freshness.

A layer of different colors that eyes can only look at the beauty and not the colors.

The moon lit white really gives a feeling of warmth.

Finally a picture of  rose which is the main flower for this season of love and togetherness.

Cheers!!!

Photo Walk - Rest is a necessity

Hello People,

Chacha Nehru have said, that AARAM HARAAM HAI but in this busy and stressful lives, we all do need rest for some time. We feel stressed due to thousands of expectations at office and home so we all need a while to relax and refresh ourselves.

Though sometimes we keep running until someone pushes us out for a weekend trip or some relaxing time near the river or mountains. The time spent with a good company really refreshes us.

And when some more friends joins in our journey it's a lot of fun and laughter that really builds moments to cherish forever. We might have a different view point in lives but rest is a necessity for one and all.

We might just be having sun bath but the relaxation the exercise provides is amazing. I feel happy and refreshed whenever I do so myself and looks forward to bring all the energy gained into my office and personal space to stay on the top of things once again.

Cheers!!! And relax for a while...

Photo Walk - Gardens of the Nature 3

Hi Guys,

Flowers are immensely beautiful to watch and take pictures of. I am enjoying all the flowers on this valentine's day eve and looking forward to search my hdd to post more pics of the same.

I wish all those who are in love a very great valentine's day and stay in love forever...

Love is what holds us together and keeps us alive and hopeful...

Love makes our lives worthwhile...We feel powerful to do anything we want to do whatever for our beloved...
Finally it's all about feelings and staying together through thick and thin...and no matter what happens, love gonna flourish, if you stay hopeful and make efforts to recreate it again and again daily...every minute....every second!!!

Cheers!!!

Photo Walk - Swans in the river

Hi Guys,

A post on some of the good looking birds which really makes the river side look beautiful.
Always moving it's feet under the water and still looking calm from above, has been the behavior and attitude as told in several motivational books.

Staying together is the key if you watch closely these birds which we also want in our lives.
Here is one breaking away the boundaries and barriers made by the mind and coming out of its comfort zone...

I hope you will also break free of all the bad habits that's stopping you right now and bring out the best in you.

Cheers!!!

Another difficult choice - Use camera built-in flash or not?

Hi Guys,

I have been asking these weird questions time and again but can't help it as I am getting more curious and inquisitive to delve deep into photography. I am not even a P of Photographer but these are some of the snaps I took in London's Science Museum.

The question which really engrossed me after watching these pics was whether to use camera flash or not? Have a look -
Clicked using flash of Panasonic FZ5
Captured using the natural/artificial light as seen at the museum

Another angle of the amazing and colorful shapes - taken without flash
 This one is using flash

There are several colors in this picture which gives a unique effect.

Do comment about what are your thoughts on the same.

Cheers!!!
