@HuaweiZA Watch GT Active #HuaweiWatchGT #ProductReview

Hi Friends,

Huawei sponsored me this Huawei Watch GT Active (46 mm) last year in May 2019 when I planned to practice and walk the 25km in the MTN Walk The Talk 702 Race in the month of July 2019. I felt great and very happy to be getting this brand new Huawei Watch GT at that time and started using the same immediately. I was able to finish 29kms on the day of the race from the car park to and fro and then attended a birthday party and going to the office the very next day without any trouble. All thanks to the guiding force in the form of Huawei Watch GT. The watch has been with me since that time and only once in its whole life since that day failed me during the Jacaranda Spring Walk for 15km in Pretoria where it crashed at the 14th kilometer and my whole journey was not synced at all to the smartphone.

The first few days using the Huawei Watch GT
As you all know that I was using the Samsung Galaxy S2 Classic before that which I bought from Incredible Connection cyber sale and slowly the parts starting to come off and I did some jugaad to continue wearing it. Thanks to Huawei for providing me with a new watch that people not only loved but also wanted to take from me. I totally love wearing the 46mm version which looks really cool and fills your wrist and people do notice the same too. Let's check out the various features of the Huawei Watch GT Active.
#TheLifesWayReviews - @HuaweiZA Watch GT Active #HuaweiWatchGT #ProductReview
The first thing I admired the same is the actual watch after opening up the package which has the watch with the silicon strap in orange color and a Type C charging cable and charging cradle with 2 points and magnet to fit the correct side of the watch when placed on the same. It was the first time, Huawei provided me a brand new sealed or mint condition product and I felt great after all these years of posts and reviews for their products.

The second factor was the amazing battery life of Huawei Watch GT which would totally last me for more than 14 days when I am not measuring the walks or putting the GPS ON but as I used the same to walk every day with GPS ON then the battery life come down to around 7 days and still is giving me more than 5 days of performance when I walk more than 5-6 km daily. It can be 100% charged in around 90 minutes or so. Sometimes the GPS on the watch is not able to detect the actual locations during the walks and add up those straight-line marks when you check your walk or run on the smartphone Huawei Health app. It gives you extra miles without adding any extra time to your walk making your goal appear overachieved.
#TheLifesWayReviews - @HuaweiZA Watch GT Active #HuaweiWatchGT #ProductReview
The third factor is the strap and watches dial which really looks cool in the Orange colors. The body of the watch is just 46 grams without the straps which are made from metal, plastic, and ceramic. My watch is in Titanium Grey Stainless Stell version whereas there are Black Stainless steel and normal stainless steel versions also available. The screen size is 1.39 inches with AMOLED display. The strap is made of some Fluoroelastomer material which doesn't give my skin any kind of irritation to date. Though I have to clean the back daily using a soft cloth as some kind of white material sediments around the circular sensors spot. I also regularly wash the band using the soap to make it clean as dust gets deposited in the slots of the straps. The strap is of topmost quality I have ever seen in all the bands and watches I have used since Jawbone UP, Fitbit, Samsung S2 Classic, Xiaomi Band, Huawei Band, etc in the last 7 years. Only recently the band of the straps broke after a year of usage in the month of April 2020 when I did 180kms of walk in a single month - my best performance ever in my life.
#TheLifesWayReviews - @HuaweiZA Watch GT Active #HuaweiWatchGT #ProductReview
The fourth factor was that this watch is water-resistant up to 5 ATM which I never tested as I don't swim and never took it to shower. I don't want to risk the only thing I have new and once it goes to any of the repair centers it costs a lot of money to repair. I totally loved that the watch is equipped to measure your Oxygen intake and burn capacity measured using VO2Max and also measures your Aerobic Training effect after every exercise and tell you also how much time your body needs rest before your next workout.

There are several other small features that I totally love like covering the display with your palm and it gets turned off which comes handy in the night along with when you swing your hand towards your face the display lights ON to show you the necessary details. The barometer and the altitude meter features are an added advantage that I tested when I was at the highest point of South Africa at around 2150 meters above sea level on the road near Lydenburg Mountains towards Sabie in Mpumalanga, South Africa.
#TheLifesWayReviews - @HuaweiZA Watch GT Active #HuaweiWatchGT #ProductReview
The factors which I didn't like in the Huawei Watch GT was that it doesn't have any music player built into the same which the Samsung Gear S2 classic had along with a 4GB of memory whereas Huawei Watch GT has around 700 MB of space to install Watch faces which also was limited when I got the smartwatch but then it only allows you to install 15-20 watch faces. Now the Huawei App market has expanded and there are several new watch faces coming on a daily basis.

The second factor was the inability to interpret that you have already started jogging or running etc as you have to specifically press certain buttons on Huawei Watch GT whereas it was automatic in Gear S2 Classic. Gear S2 seamlessly measures without even thinking about switching to any mode and it will measure your performance using AI but Huawei Watch GT has to be put on a certain mode using the buttons on the side of the watch and then it saves your walks in the walk category and runs in the run category as per your command. But still, Huawei Watch GT is not able to measure the floors climbed no matter how many stairs you are climbing but it will tell you the elevation gain in meters. The stress test is shown in the app but there is no functionality in the Watch GT to perform the same.
#TheLifesWayReviews - @HuaweiZA Watch GT Active #HuaweiWatchGT #ProductReview
The last factor is the Huawei Health App which is not advanced where you can add your friends and challenge them. It will give nice stats to show on your stories and posts but you can't earn points etc. Though you can get medals by finishing certain milestones it just looks like coins and nothing fancy about the same. Samsung Health is way advance in this matter where you get monthly targets to achieve and levels to cross. You can add all your friends using the Samsung ecosystem and challenge them and beat them to earn extra points and cross new levels.
#TheLifesWayReviews - @HuaweiZA Watch GT Active #HuaweiWatchGT #ProductReview
Overall, I am very happy with the Huawei Watch GT which is not as smart as it looks but then there are always new versions coming from the Huawei range of products. I did not receive the Huawei Watch GT 2 at the launch event which has a lot of disadvantages I mentioned taken care of with music player built into it and various other things which I can only check if I use the same. Huawei gives out these watches when you buy any of their smartphones so be prepared to receive the new versions of the watch when you are due for an upgrade and opt for the Huawei Watch GT smartwatch. RATING 3/5

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Jun 2019 www.thelifesway.com #TheLifesWay #PhotoYatra

Hi Friends,

June 2019 had so much in store from Disney on Ice to various other phone launches and I was using Netflix to watch all the content I have been missing and reviewed it too. Again this time of the year I have taken a connection for some time and going through the stuff I have not seen between the last year and now.

1. A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Jun 2018 www.thelifesway.com #TheLifesWay - https://www.thelifesway.com/2019/06/a-memoir-this-month-last-year-jun-2018.html - My whole journey on the blog is specifically told in all these memoirs and whatever I have received is because of this blog. The fame and the name are just because of The Life's Way and I hope I will continue to do something big with the same.

2. #TheLifesWayReviews - Chopsticks - #Movie #Drama #NetflixOriginal @NetflixSA #Bollywood - https://www.thelifesway.com/2019/06/thelifeswayreviews-chopsticks-movie.html - I really loved with comedy-drama movie starring Abhay Deol and Mithila Parker. I don't think we have seen Abhay after that in any of the other movies. I recently saw Mithila'a another movie named Karwaan but that was more popular because of the Irrfan Khan and recently Bollywood lost him to cancer.

3. Unique @FUJIFILM_SA @InstaxS #miniLiPlay Hybrid Camera Launched At #PrintLifeSA Exhibition - https://www.thelifesway.com/2019/06/unique-fujifilmsa-instaxs-miniliplay.html - Last year some of my photos were showcased at the exhibition by Fujifilm at their PrintLife SA expo held at Sandton City and thereafter they also launched one of the latest Hybrid cameras to take on the instant camera market further. Last year, Canon and other manufacturers like HP also entered the industry with their own instant film cameras and printers.

4. P(hone) In On Your Holiday @HuaweiZA #HuaweiP30Series #RewriteTheRules #MobilePhotography - https://www.thelifesway.com/2019/06/phone-in-on-your-holiday-huaweiza.html - P30 series of smartphones was the talk of the nations around the world and this time on Friday they virtually launched the P40 series of smartphones without the Google ecosystem due to recent restrictions placed on Huawei by the US government. Though in a small amount of time, Huawei has come up with its own HMS Core and HMS Apps in the Huawei App Gallery and recently launched a competition for developers to earn around USD 300k in prizes by submitting their apps. I also attended the launch virtually but somehow was not able to win any of the prizes from the launch event which was worth more than R500k.

5. #TheLifesWayGoals @HuaweiZA #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 4 #HuaweiWatchGT - https://www.thelifesway.com/2019/06/thelifeswaygoals-huaweiza-mtn702walk.html - This post is more of a product review of Huawei Watch GT as compared to the preparation of the race. I really loved using the device but there were several missing technologies in this version of the watch and soon they launched the second version which resolved many of these issues and still in the market. I am still using my Huawei Watch GT but the straps have broken during my April 2020's 180kms walk using the device.

#TheLifesWayGoals @HuaweiZA #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 4 #HuaweiWatchGT

Hi Friends,

Week 4 saw me down with cough and cold catching up with me and I was at the verge of falling sick and when I started my walk on 4th Tuesday, I could not go further than 3km and it took almost 40 min to complete the same too.

Let's focus this post on Huawei Watch GT and what it brings on the table for me for this walk, some key points are explained as below -
  1. Battery Life: Now I can forget that my watch is digital smartwatch as the battery life of Huawei Watch GT is huge. It can easily go for more than 1 weeks with my exercise regime but for most people, it will easily cross 2 weeks with a single charge.
  2. AMOLED Display: On Huawei Watch GT Active edition I have its 1.39 inch AMOLED 454 x 454 HD screen and it's super awesome to watch in direct sunlight too.
  3. Gestures: The AMOLED screen supports slide and touch gestures as the dial is fixed, unlike Samsung watch which needs 2 fingers to operate.
  4. Charging: The watch gets charged fully in less than 2 hours on the Magnetic charging thimble which comes in the package.
  5. Water and Dust Resistance: It's 5 ATM water-resistant and the whole casing is secured with only charging pins out in the open. The watch keeps sending notification as you put on the charging cradle that keeps these pins are dry and without any water.
  6. Lovely Straps: The watch is easy to wear with its new design of straps which are comfortable on your wrist even when you wear them day in day out. I really loved my Orange Fluoroelastomer Strap which I wear while sleeping in the night too and only take out while taking a bath and when the watch is getting charged.
  7. Watch Case: I have got the 46.5 mm case in Titanium Grey Stainless Steel which is made up of Metal, Plastic and Ceramic. Please don't go by the name of the look as the case is not Stainless Steel.
  8. Buttons: Power button and Function Buttons are the only buttons other than the touch screen to do all the functions required.
  9. No Auto Pause and Auto Start - Huawei Watch GT doesn't offer the auto start and pause when you stop during the workout which is the case with earlier Samsung Gear S2 watch I was using. In this, you have to manually do the same by just clicking a button on the top side.
  10. No Floors Measurement: Despite having an altimeter, the Huawei Watch GT is not showing the floors walked in its software. This might come as a feature later in this watch.
  11. No Music Player: Huawei Watch has no music player built into the same, hence it will remain a watch and can't control your music and you will have to carry your mobile always.
  12. 786MB RAM: is very less and it can only take very less number of Watchfaces, unlike my earlier watch Gear S2 which has a 4GB memory to accommodate songs as well as apps and 100s of watch faces.
So these were some of the things from the top of my mind about the Huawei Watch GT! My performance for the week remains good as I completed my first 15km in about 2-3 minutes less than the last race I participated last year in Pretoria for Spring Walk - 15kms.

#TheLifesWayGoals @HuaweiZA #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 3 #HuaweiWatchGT

Hi Friends,

Week 3 started with the great news that I will be using Huawei Watch GT as my primary device to capture my walk towards 25km training and share my progress on my blog and other social media channels. I am thankful to Huawei for the same once again.
#TheLifesWayGoals @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 3 #HuaweiHealthSA
Ability to download these wallpapers from the Huawei Health App with your Walk/Run Details
3rd Tuesday has the target of 10km which was easy to do as I already did cover that on Saturday of Week 2 but this time I saved some 5 minutes of my walking time to complete the walk. This was really great and gave me the confidence to do with my walks as per plan schedule. It was tough though that I wanted to postpone the walk but somehow carried on and finished the same.
#TheLifesWayGoals @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 3 #HuaweiHealthSA
3rd Thursday was on 23rd May 2019 which was also the results day for the Indian Election 2019 and as I was interested to know who will be the winner all across India so was awake since 330am and started watching TV and watched till the end of the day when the final results were still coming. I started walking but could not do it further than 3.75km as I was really tired and sleepy. If you are not able to sleep well, the walk or run is extremely difficult for me I could get from my body.
3rd Saturday saw me sleeping all day and was fully tired but went shopping and brought some Energade and Cadbury's 5 Star chocolate as I need to walk 12km on that day. As I completed 3km, I started drinking Energade Naartjie flavor and it really gave me instant power and I finished the 500ml bottle by the time I reached around 5km. The only problem with Energade is that it makes you pee a lot and I have to find a loo by 6.5km and soon again at around 8.5km due to the drink. I didn't drink any water for the whole walk and only drank once I reached home.

Saturday also saw me changing my socks to thick ones from Jockey and with my New Balance fresh foam 980 Shoes it never gave me any problems at all. The only problem is that these shoes have already walked around 73km since I started training in them (9 walks) and since I got them from the brand in one of their activations in Feb 2014 and since then it must have seen more than 200km in last 5 years. The life of these shoes is over but I am not able to find another pair which are better than these ones. I have never felt any pain in my feet using these shoes even when I ran long ago for 5km in them without any practice.

New Balance Shoes from Feb 2014 - almost going to take the fall!
All these walks are giving me insights into my mind and body and told me that I need to take some vitamins and energy drinks on my way to 25km. I have started eating Almonds too and need to check how Banana Shake can help me if I take it before my walk every week?
#TheLifesWayGoals @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 3 #HuaweiHealthSA
I also ordered Remedy Health Compression Socks for my tired feet from OneDayOnly website and wore them on Saturday night after my walk. It really gave me total foot support and made them relaxed. They were on sale at One Day Only website and you shall check out their deals every morning and every day at 1pm.

#TheLifesWayGoals @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 2 #HuaweiHealthSA

Hi Friends,

Week 2 for my MTN Walk the Talk 25km walk gave me different insights into my body and general challenges to be faced in the next weeks to come. It's a really great adventure which I always wanted to do with myself and this opportunity is really great.
#TheLifesWayGoals @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 2 #HuaweiHealthSA
Overall Target Walk over the next 10 weeks and Percentage Increase over the previous week
On my 2nd Tuesday, I tipped over a scaffolding on the road, the biggest lesson it brought is that you shall never jump over things while walking or running as your feet might not perform as you want them to leading to injuries.
#TheLifesWayGoals @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 2 #HuaweiHealthSA
Week 2 Days Overall Daily Walk Data
Secondly, it also told me that I shall always carry a small First-Aid kit on my practice runs till Week 12 and also some kind of spray to take care of swollen feet or legs.
#TheLifesWayGoals @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 2 #HuaweiHealthSA
Week 2 vs Week 1 Performance Analysis
On my 2nd Thursday, as I came from the office a bit late and after drinking tea at home, it already was 715pm when I started. I wanted to postpone the walk of 9km but somehow my willpower took over my head and I completed the same inside my building complex only.
#TheLifesWayGoals @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 2 #HuaweiHealthSA
Another biggest risk I am facing in the evening/night is to face some kind of mugging so sometimes when it's too late, I will have to cover the ground inside the apartment complex only.
#TheLifesWayGoals @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 2 #HuaweiHealthSA
Another lesson learned is that it's easier to walk outside on the road as the scenery changes and you face a different kind of uphill and downhill all the time as compared to walking inside the complex. It is much faster timewise as compared to walking in the set apartment path. Also, it keeps your enthusiasm level high on the road.
#TheLifesWayGoals @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 2 #HuaweiHealthSA
But this theory was challenged in my final Week 2 - Saturday target of 10km and it happened after a lunch party and it was so difficult to walk on the road after eating. My speed was too slow and the mood was not very great but the only motivating factor was that it was my first day with Huawei Watch GT and this Huawei watch was measuring my performance yesterday. I really loved the nudges to celebrate from 1km to 5km when it gave me a half-way mark wallpaper and then subsequently took me from 6 to 9.99km till it said 100% achieved. I really loved and it also told me about my heart rate from time to time. The Huawei Watch GT is not only comfortable to wear but the battery life is really awesome. The battery only went down by 5-7% during the whole run for more than 128 minutes.
#TheLifesWayGoals @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 2 #HuaweiHealthSA
Sony Electronics Wireless WH 1000X M3
My first thanks will go to Sony Electronics for sending their Wireless Noise Canceling Stereo Headset WH-1000X M3 which has really great battery life of 30 hours and the best part is its over-ear headphones design which I always wanted one to try and walk with. I really love the Noise cancellation on these headsets. I used them on Tuesday and Thursday this week and totally fell in love with the same.
#TheLifesWayGoals @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 2 #HuaweiHealthSA
Happy Me with the Huawei Watch GT Active - Orange Strap
Secondly, Thanks to Huawei South Africa for partnering with me on my journey to meet 25km and I will track my progress on the watch and will share with all my readers too on their Fans page as well as Health App page on Facebook. Do give both the facebook pages a like if you are using any of the Huawei devices and tracking your health using the Huawei Health app. Check out my Instagram, Facebook and Twitter channels for more on my journey!

#TheLifesWayGoals - @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK 25Kms on 28th July 2019 - Planning #HuaweiHealth

Hi Friends,

I have always wanted to be fully physically fit but never took any actions to become one or remain focussed after doing it for a day or two. When MTN Walk the Talk sent me a secret survey to ask about the 25kms and my reactions to the same, I was very much in favor of the same due to this year being 25 Years of Democracy in South Africa. I really thought for a while before registering myself for the 25 km race on 28th July 2019. I have done 15kms last year on 22nd July 2018 and the day was my birthday too but nothing before and after that.

I took my faith in myself to the next level and registered myself for the 25km race and also enrolled for the SA Park and Ride because I am sure I won't be able to walk to the parking and drive the car myself.
#TheLifesWayGoals - @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK 25Kms on 28th July 2019 - Planning #HuaweiHealth
I am out of luck on my Smartphone watch as it's on life's end which I got as a gift from my wife some 3 years back. I am trying to capture my weekly progress using @Huawei Health App on my Huawei P20 Pro smartphone and trying to win myself a Huawei Watch GT
#TheLifesWayGoals - @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK 25Kms on 28th July 2019 - Planning #HuaweiHealth
Here is the plan to be ready for 28th July 2019 and the logic behind all the 12 weeks to the same is -
  1. Phase 1 - Build stamina to walk 15 km in a single go
  2. Phase 2 - Build stamina to walk 20 km in a single go
  3. Phase 3 - Build stamina to walk 25 km in a single go
  4. Each Phase is 4 weeks long
  5. Every Tuesday and Thursday will be my days to do a practice walk
  6. Every Saturday will be target walk which needs to be completed in one go
  7. There are some exceptions in the last week when Thursday plan is moved to Friday
These are the plans created thinking of a perfect world and happy path scenario's but I am looking at trying to match the same with real-world performance and writing some blog posts on the same.

If you want to get registered, you are welcome to at http://www.walkthetalk.co.za/ and let's walk together!

Cheers!!!

@HuaweiZA Disrupts the #Smartphone Industry #HuaweiMate20Pro #HigherIntelligence

Hi Friends,

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is the king of smartphones, with a monstrous performance and ultra wide-angle triple camera that will blow your mind

Last night at a glittering event at Kyalami Conference Centre, Huawei unveiled their highly anticipated Huawei Mate 20 Series, which the smartphone manufacturer is promising will set a new bar for innovation and intelligence in mobile devices.

“The Huawei Mate 20 series offers consumers a compelling combination of powerful artificial intelligence (AI), flagship performance, longer battery life, advanced security, a greater videography and photography experience, and more—all wrapped in a sophisticated design. It is the ultimate device made for those who will not settle for anything less than perfection,” notes Akhram Mohamed, Chief Technology Officer at Huawei Consumer Business Group South Africa.

Powerful, efficient performance

The Huawei Mate 20 Series is powered by the Kirin 980 chip, which offers improved performance and a smooth user experience, even after extended use. Lifetime performance is a key focus for Huawei, so the speed of their devices remains as fast as the day you buy them.

A camera system that will make you a pro photographer
Building on the impressive camera system of the Huawei P20 series, Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro helps you not only see wider when taking a shot but also closer. The device has a 16mm Leica Ultra Wide Angle Lens, which creates a sense of spaciousness and adds a three-dimensional effect to your images. The camera of the Mate 20 series also supports macro distance, which means that you can take crisp, precise photos of objects that are placed as close as 2.5cm to the lens. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is equipped with a 40MP wide angle main camera, a 20MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera.

Leveraging its powerful artificial intelligence, the Huawei Mate 20 series also features professional filmmaking skills, making it possible for even novice filmmakers to create blockbusters. One of these is the AI Portrait Colour video mode. Using AI, the Huawei Mate 20 Series can isolate and highlight the colors of a subject by desaturating everything else. This feature makes for a stunning visual impact. Some of the preset modes available include Vintage, Fresh, Suspense and Background Blur.

@HuaweiZA Disrupts the #Smartphone Industry #HuaweiMate20Pro #HigherIntelligence
Futuristic design
When conceptualizing their world-first “flowing design”, Huawei’s engineers attempted to capture the grace of several free-flowing elements of nature. This comes to life on the device’s aerodynamic chassis, which is curved on all eight sides and meticulously engineered to achieve a very low drag coefficient. To ensure there are no needless gaps between the mid-frame and the glass materials, Huawei manufactured its parts precisely, adhering to exacting standards and ensuring the components fit tightly and seamlessly together.

Huawei also incorporated symmetrical design elements into the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, and the two-by-two arrangement of the four-point camera system is a prime example. Of the four cut-outs, three are reserved for the new Leica Triple Camera, and one is reserved for the laser sensor and flash. The rules of symmetry are also observed on the front of the devices, which are vertically and horizontally symmetrical. This echoes the theme of harmony and balance throughout the design.

Long battery life
The new Huawei SuperCharge, Huawei Wireless Quick Charge and powerful battery work in tandem to provide you with the best battery life. The 40W Huawei SuperCharge gives your phone a 70 percent charge in 30 minutes and Huawei’s Wireless 15W Quick Charge is the industry’s fastest wireless charging solution.

Other cool features
· Wireless Reverse Charge, which enables your phone to work as a power bank for selected electronic devices supporting wireless charging.
· The HiTouch function is a must for shopaholics, as it recognizes objects in photos from your gallery, in your messages, or on a webpage, so that you can purchase them online.
· HiVision acts as your own personal tour guide; for example by pointing your smartphone camera at certain landmarks and works of art from around the world, their descriptions and backgrounds will pop up. In addition, if you travel to a country where you are unfamiliar with the language, you are able to get instant translation by simply pointing your smartphone at the text you need to be deciphered. HiVision will also help you stick to your diet, as you can simply point the camera at a food item, and the estimated calories will pop up.

“Smartphones are an important entrance to the digital world. The HUAWEI Mate 20 Series is designed to be the best ‘mate’ of its users, accompanying and empowering them to enjoy a richer, more fulfilled life with their higher intelligence, unparalleled battery life, and powerful camera performance,” concludes Mohamed.

@HuaweiZA Launches #HuaweiWatchGT and #HuaweiBand3Pro #HealthyLiving

Hi Friends,

Huawei Consumer Business Group (BG) announced two new wearables: HUAWEI WATCH GT and HUAWEI Band 3 Pro. Launched alongside the flagship HUAWEI Mate 20 Series, the new wearables offer novel and sophisticated ways for consumers to track their activities and receive fitness coaching that is based on scientific research.

Featuring the classic wristwatch design, ultra-high battery life, low power consumption, sophisticated activity tracking and fitness coaching features, the HUAWEI WATCH GT is one of the most hotly anticipated wearables of the year. The new HUAWEI watch bears the GT name to call attention to its high performance and reliability—just as grand tourers, or high performance automobiles, are trusted for their prowess.

Made for Urban Explorers
Spurred by technical advancements and improving living standards, people are becoming keener to explore the world around them. As an extension of smartphones, wearables complement the feature sets of today’s handsets to help consumers get more out of their devices. Designed for today’s urban explorers, the HUAWEI WATCH GT addresses one of the most common pain points of wearables: battery life.

The HUAWEI WATCH GT uses an innovative smart power-saving algorithm that enables it to dynamically switch between performance and efficiency modes, depending on user activity, for maximum battery life. This allows the smart watch to stay powered for up to two weeks for frequent use mode [1]. Furthermore, the dual-core architecture of the HUAWEI WATCH GT lets the wearable user enjoy the best of both worlds—it is simultaneously a powerful and highly efficient smart watch.

Besides improved performance and new features, the HUAWEI WATCH GT also sports a unique design. The 1.39-inch 454x254 AMOLED high resolution display presents information cleanly on the wrist. The smart watch body incorporates a dual-crown design with stainless steel and ceramic bezels, and is treated with a DLC diamond carbon coating to provide users with durability that will last for decades. The 10.6mm case body is compatible with two band options—a dual-color silicone band and an elegant leather-rubber band—giving users more choices to customize their HUAWEI WATCH GT for any occasion.

Powerful New Features
In addition to the ultra-long battery life, the HUAWEI WATCH GT features industry-leading positioning capabilities. The smart watch can simultaneously tap into GPS, GLONASS and GALILEO, three of the major satellite positioning systems, for precise positioning. A tracking algorithm then optimizes the tracking data to achieve one-to-one positioning even in areas with numerous disparate signals.

The HUAWEI WATCH GT also addresses the needs of active users. Based on its strength in positioning, HUAWEI WATCH GT also supports all-round sports activity tracking. Working with professional sports organizations, Huawei enables tracking for a range of sports, including indoor exercises, outdoor running, mountain climbing, cycling and open water swimming. The watch also supports fitness coaching features. By analyzing the heart rate of users with scientific methods, this feature lets users exercise more safely and healthily than ever before.

The TruSeen™ 3.0 heart rate monitoring technology tracks the user’s active and resting heart rate. Combining innovative PPG optical and hardware design and AI algorithms, the solution can monitor the heart rate of users in real time with high precision. In Sport mode, the HUAWEI WATCH GT can be set up to notify users to adjust the intensity of their workout based on a pre-set target heart rate interval. In Rest mode, the smart watch automatically monitors and records the resting heart rate of users. The HUAWEI WATCH GT uses invisible lights to monitor the user's heart rate during sleep, which is more intimate than other traditional methods.

HUAWEI Band 3 Pro: A Sports Wristband with Full Touch Screen
While smart wristbands on the market today often feature simple health monitoring functions, the lack of standardization made a lot of the data unsuitable for medical use. In view of that, Huawei launches HUAWEI Band 3 Pro, a new smart wristband supporting a range of precise and professional monitoring capabilities, including improved heart rate and sleep monitoring.

With HUAWEI TruSeen™3.0, HUAWEI Band 3 Pro accurately monitors the heart rate of a user throughout the day. Huawei also pioneered the use of IR (infrared) sensors to accurately track the user heart rate without using the obtrusive lights of conventional trackers.

Leveraging the same technology powering TruSeen™ 3.0, HUAWEI Band 3 Pro can also track sleep patterns with HUAWEI TruSleep™2.0. Moreover, the solution uses big data analysis to provide personalized services and suggestions to improve sleep quality. All of the aforementioned technologies were developed by Huawei in collaboration with authoritative organizations around the world, ensuring that the wearables are highly functional and professional.

The HUAWEI Band 3 Pro features a 0.95-inch HD AMOLED color touch screen that offers an expansive space to display data. The controls are easy and intuitive—users can navigate the various options on the screen by swiping vertically or horizontally, or by tapping the screen to return to Home.

The HUAWEI WATCH GT Sport edition is €199, HUAWEI WATCH Classic edition is €249 and the HUAWEI Band 3 Pro is €99.
[1] According to Huawei’s internal tests, subject to the actual conditions. The “frequent mode” is defined as “the user wears the watch all day round with heart rate function activated, scientific sleeping function activated at night, exercise for 90 minutes a week (GPS open), message notification function activated, screen brightening for 200 times a day”
