New Year Resolutions - Week 48 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay

Hi Guys,

Week 48 - Sat 26 Nov 2022 - Fri 02 Dec 2022

Week 48 is the last week of November going into December 2022. I did what kept me at bay for so long and that was the booster dose for the Covid-19 vaccine. I went to Tara Hospital at 50, Saxon Road, Hurlingham which is the place which is still doing Pfizer vaccination in case you need to go. After that, for 2-3 days I was down and really down due to the third dose.

1. Daily Walking - I completed the month of Nov-22 at my highest ever with 115.86 kilometres in total for a single month. This has been the best performance during the whole year of 2022. I did around 30.65 km in total for this week. The week ended with me reaching 925.69 km and for the rest of the 3 weeks, I need to do only 75km to reach 1000 km. With all the efforts done in Nov-22, I could reach the target.

2. Entertainment - I watched Chup! a movie that I watched in anticipation of it being good but it's a one-time watch. I also loved watching Khakee: The Bihar Chapter based on the book and life of IPS officer Amit Lodha. The series has been made really well and is available on Netflix for your viewing pleasure. I also watched a movie on YouTube called Zed Plus which is an old 2014 movie. I watched the movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever that's been pending for a long long time. I didn't like it much but overall it's also a one-time watch for sure. There have been some missing components that only came together at the end and it's a great emotional ending that will uplift the future of the Black Panther movie series.

3. Covid-19 Booster Vaccine - I took my third vaccine from Pfizer and it really made me nostalgic as to how I was suffering when I was actually down due to Covid. It's a real eye-opener that life is too short to let your ego take all the decisions. I felt okay only after 2-3 days and as Covid is rising again in China, let's wait and watch the impact if any on the other countries.
New Year Resolutions - Week 48 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay
4. 10 Years of The Life's Way - December is the month when I celebrate my blog The Life's Way and this year it will complete its 10th anniversary on 27 Dec 2022. I have no giveaways planned as this year I reduced the time I spent on my blog and only did around 138 blog posts with very less press releases. No brands collaborated so I invested my time in books and audiobooks. Going to 2023, I will only post for those brands which will do some collaborations with me through trade exchanges or sponsored posts. You only have limited time and don't waste it living a wishful life where in reality you are not getting anything in return.

5. getAbstract - Do you have 15 minutes to enhance your knowledge like never before? If you are a frequent traveller and can't invest time in completing the whole book reading then you can stay in touch with all the latest releases across your niche and interest by reading the summaries of the books. You can also listen to the same too if doing some jogging or exercise. You can grasp the main learning points from the books in the shortest time possible. If you love Quotes and want to tell someone those are specially bookmarked by the website. You can learn more about the authors as well. It can also download (Mobi format) for offline reading on your kindle free of cost or you can send it using the kindle email but Amazon will charge a small fee. The library now includes videos and podcasts from all the famous non-fiction authors. So what are you waiting for? If you subscribe using the link, you will get a massive 30% discount on any of your membership plans!

This year I have invested in a lot of learning platforms like getAbstract, Skillshare, Mindvalley, Masterclass etc and in 2023 for sure I will schedule myself to get the most benefit out of all of them and will share with you guys too!

Cheers!!!

8 Years of Life in #Johannesburg #SouthAfrica #9YearsofTheLifesWay 2450th Blog Post

Hi Friends,

2021 is almost over and this will also mark the 9th anniversary of The Life's Way and I wanted to have this 2450th blog post as my self-promotion rather than for any brand. I  completed 8 Years in Johannesburg on 2nd November 2021 and the best part for this year is that I got my South African driving license. Now I can drive here easily for the next 5 years or so.

Last time I did one report on my 5 Years of Life in Johannesburg and since then what I have achieved till date will be mentioned in this blog post -

My love my blog The Life's Way has crossed 3.4 Million page views and this is my 2450th blog post. I am currently using Samsung Z Flip 3 5G smartphone which is my first foldable device and I am really grateful to Samsung for the same. I am still driving the Honda Civic 1.8 Elegance but I want to move to an SUV soon enough next year. I also bought my first house in Johannesburg, South Africa and am now no longer living in rented accommodation and can buy my own stuff as per my requirements and needs. Lockdown due to Covid-19 gave me enough time to think about my priorities and now I intend to not waste my time on things of no returns like free blog posts for the brands who are not sending me anything or not even calling me to their launch events and not even retweeting the shared blog posts. Why waste time on such brands when you can have fun with limited few brands enough to last your lifetime?

During the last three years, I made trips to Kruger National Park, Garden Route, Northern Cape and many more places which I had not visited earlier too. My Google Maps photos have crossed 39 Million views and places reviews are standing at 214721 views. I have reviewed over 230 places so far and reached the top 10% places reviewer whereas I am the top 1% contributor in terms of photographs on Google Maps. In the next year or so I intend to reach Top 1% in terms of reviews too by taking the count to around 500+ reviews of places. 17092 contribution with 73025 points so far and still on Level 9 in the Let's Guide programme.

8 Years of Life in #Johannesburg #SouthAfrica #9YearsofTheLifesWay 2450th Blog Post

My youtube channel crossed 851 subscribers and has now 386k views in total. I have crossed 200 videos and also started posting Shorts on the channel. I am still far from the mandatory 4000 hours and 1000 subscribers to be considered for monetization by Youtube. Though I will continue to post videos on this platform but let's see where this takes us in the longer run. I don't see it reaching 4000 hours unless I switch to the Hindi/Punjabi language and create content in the same. I also plan to bring in some insights into how a person I am and what makes me unique in my own perspective if anyone wants to take inspiration or tips and tricks I followed and learned through the last 41 years of my life.

I have reduced my photography to a much smaller level as I didn't pick up my cameras other than for making Youtube thumbnails or to shoot some products. I mostly used the smartphone camera to cover my travels locally whatsoever and to post on Google Maps too. I am also giving away my Canon 100D to my brother-in-law for his Youtube channel on YOGA and other exercises like Pranayam, Meditation etc which has crossed the monetization stage and can achieve greater heights with a proper DSLR camera. I have thought of clearing my inventory of stuff which I don't want to use myself to reach the hands of people who can enjoy the same.

Keisha's channel was deleted by me due to some restrictions and now I plan to have her channel on my email id only. I will repost all her videos and will check if she wants to create more content in the future of 2022.

I now intend to try out other platforms too with all their new tools like Reels, Stories, IGTV and Live on Instagram. Similarly, I will try out Facebook Live and other tools to post regular content. I completed my 12 books this year in 2021 and am really grateful for the same as for the last few years I was not doing it. I now am putting a good pressure on myself to complete one per month and wants to continue doing the same next year too with 25 books to complete. I put all my reads to track on Goodreads - follow me there and I continue to read on my Amazon Kindle Keyboard which is so far working fine.

When I had Covid this year, I rewatched a lot of Bollywood movies on Youtube and loved seeing them and also I watch all the web series and movies in English and Hindi on the same day of the launch. I have not posted any reviews of those so far but I can do so in the near future as it means a lot of content for my blog posts.

Cheers!!!

Face Masks @AirPopHealth Brings Quality Protection along with Anti-Fogging Ability #AirPop

Hi Friends,

AirPop is the world’s first “air wearables” company. Since 2015, and has harnessed filtration science and technology to build high-performance products that deliver unrivalled comfort and breathability for millions of people around the world.

For too many people, wearing a mask is a daily necessity to combat the detrimental effects of air pollution and the threat of dangerous pathogens - from SARS to H1N1 to the flu and now COVID-19 - increasing the need for a barrier of defence for consumers. With that AirPop was born.

Today, we all play a vital role in reducing the spread of Covid-19 through our communities which means choosing an appropriate mask requires that it both fit and filter well to reduce transmission from the airborne particles and droplets that can contain the virus when you breathe in and breathe out.
Face Masks @AirPopHealth Brings Quality Protection along with Anti-Fogging Ability
The AirPop full line of masks is certified by accredited labs to filter >99% of particles and droplets two-ways – inside and outside. They offer the same, highly effective two-way barrier as the best medical and industrial-grade masks, but are specifically engineered for you, the consumer, to be comfortable all day, for all faces, in all environments. There’s finally an option that protects the rest of us and doesn’t divert critical N95s from health and emergency front lines.

AirPop delivers superior performance by solving 3 critical issues: fit, filtration and breathability. The revolutionary design includes a patented seal ensuring a secure fit while the 3D Air Dome allows cool airflow and prevents that “smothered” feeling. The unique combination of 4-layer filter material provides the most effective 2-way barrier against particles and droplets that you can wear with comfort and daily wearability that’s designed for everyday use.

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Feb 2020 www.thelifesway.com #TheLifesWay

Hi Friends,

February is a month where you start posting and making some of the ideas implemented for the best of your blog and other social media platforms. This was the month when Covid-19 was spreading around in the world and soon all the launch events will be cancelled. I was already missing the Samsung Launch event as during that day I was in Dubai and I was invited to the same after a gap of many years and the people who attended the same start getting the Galaxy Buds+ as a gift and I totally missed getting the same which I really regretted about.

1. A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Jan 2019 www.thelifesway.com #TheLifesWay #PhotoYatra - I really love the first month which really gives a lot of hope to start your year on a high note. I really love posting these memoirs. Jan 2019 I was around 1675 blog posts and by Jan 2020 it was around 1892 posts and slowly and steadily I am coming towards posting a lot of self-written posts as well as promoting Press releases.

2. A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Feb 2019 www.thelifesway.com #TheLifesWay #PhotoYatra - This one is really important as I wrote some of my posts which were closure to my heart which I generally don't write. There is a marvel post for my 21st anniversary of Engineering Graduation during this year which you should definitely go through. It is really good to connect the dots and remember the time period. I was always a careless student and in engineering only I learned to take full responsibility for my life.

Check out the new video on my Youtube channel - www.youtube.com/c/TheLifesWay

3. @CloretsSA Reveals #BreatheOutProudlyForLonger - The Game #LimitedEdition - This was one of the events where we missed winning by just being in Team No. 6 and they announced the number 6 but then changed to Number 9 so it was just not the right bench to sit on. We should have chosen some other numbered desk.

I came back from the trip to India and Dubai in the mid of February 2020 and soon the office work started soon but didn't survive for long as I got released from the project in April 2020. The whole onsite salary and other benefits were stopped with immediate effect and monthly expenses were more than the salary received. It was a stressful period and more on the same little later during the year.

Cheers!!!

How Tech Companies Have Managed to Stay Relevant During Covid-19? @Lenovo_Africa

Hi Friends,

Digital Transformation by Thibault Dousson, General Manager at Lenovo Southern Africa

Covid-19 has redefined what we previously deemed as normal in all aspects of our lives. It has thrust digital transformation to the forefront of the business arena and shown that if you cannot innovate and adapt to this new norm, then the end is imminent.

How consumers engage with businesses has also changed dramatically over the last few months, with technology and digital processes being more prevalent than ever. Companies that have been innovative, have made their products and services readily available, and could easily adapt to digital transformation stood a better chance of succeeding. Technology companies are a prime example of this, and they are well-positioned to thrive in this new norm.

Keeping up with times
The tech companies that continued to thrive throughout the pandemic are those that were poised for change. With consumers being home and already engaging in the digital space, whether it be for leisure or business, it was easy for tech companies such as Amazon, Facebook, Microsoft (with collaborative software) and Netflix to have a big financial and social impact. The result of this impact was driven by the services offered by these tech companies, as it was what consumers wanted and needed, thanks to the new reality created by COVID-19.

The repositioning of some of these companies was integral to their success, along with the use of e-commerce, collaboration with competitors, as well as thinking outside the box. A great example of this was Amazon. Even though the company’s business model is based on e-commerce, they still had to make a slight pivot when the pandemic hit. Amazon has never really done well in terms of food sales but by changing their business model to suit the needs of quarantined consumers, their sales skyrocketed.

Unfortunately, not all tech companies thrived during these times, mainly because their services were in opposition to Covid-19 lockdown regulations. Some examples here are tech companies associated with the tourism and transport industries. It is important that small businesses learn from these tech companies, the good and the bad lessons, as they have mapped out the blueprint of continuing to forge ahead even through adversity.

Survival, rather than growth, is at the forefront during a pandemic. And for a business to survive it is important to safeguard your business’ culture and reassure employees and customers of a better tomorrow while still making the pivotal shift to adapt to the times. Should a business reposition its tools and skills correctly, surviving undoubtedly turns into thriving?
How Tech Companies Have Managed to Stay Relevant During Covid-19? @Lenovo_Africa
Thibault Dousson, General Manager at Lenovo Southern Africa
Going increasingly digital
Working from home and going completely digital during the pandemic was something that Lenovo was ready for and all that was needed was to implement the structures that were already in place. Due to Lenovo being fully digitised, by the time the pandemic hit, the shift to employees working from home was seamless, and it was surprising just how much more productive everyone was under these circumstances.

However, once lockdown regulations were lowered, we became cognizant of the fact that some of our employees wanted to return to the office, under the correct protocols of course, as a result of their home working situations being less than ideal. This was due to a number of reasons, for example, lack of a proper workspace, distractions at home, or just needing to interact with co-workers. Collaborative work between co-workers and various teams was at the top of the reasoning list for employees to return to the office.

Although some of our employees choose to now be back at the office, our approach is still digital, especially as many people are still working from home. Lenovo has not lost any of the lessons taught by this lockdown and continues to look for more innovative and efficient ways of working that provide our people with more flexibility and choice.

The success of this model has also resulted in us at Lenovo investing more into digital marketing and training, which included our annual Lenovo South African Channel Award going completely virtual, with our resellers, retailers and distributors not missing a beat. The event saw over 500 partners were glued to their screen on the 3rd of September, proving our ability to be agile and adapt to the times, whilst keeping our key stakeholders engaged. Furthermore, we also underwent thorough online training to learn about the latest Lenovo product ranges and services via live online training sessions, with participation being incentivised using Lenovo care packages and prizes that were distributed ahead of every session. This new norm still drew upon the inspiration of a one-to-one experience without contravening any Covid-19 protocols.

Weathering the storm and where to
Moving forward, it is paramount for businesses to understand the importance of digital transformation. By leveraging technologies such as the cloud and other remote working tools, businesses will continue to evolve and thus stay relevant. Most of us take for granted how Zoom, Google Hangout and Microsoft Teams kept us in touch with the working world. Although they have always existed, they were underutilised and can be said to have been the best tech innovations during this Covid-19 period. These applications gave businesses the opportunity to continue to connect and function in a world that had come to a standstill.

Tech companies have always been a step ahead because of their already digitised systems. The future is digital, is your business ready to embrace it?

Cheers!!!

40th Birthday @MontecasinoZA @ThavaIndian Dinner During Unlock #MissMonte

Hi Friends,

Who would have predicted that 2020 will have so much in store for all of us? Getting out of houses has become not only difficult but you are taking enough care to protect yourselves and your loved ones too. South Africa has opened up the dine-in option at several restaurants around the country and I too made use of the same to celebrate my 40th birthday with my family. Here I am going to write about my experience of the whole experiment of dining-in as the lockdown relaxations are in place. My mind kept calculating all the risks related to the situation and thought of finally checking out the place.
40th Birthday @MontecasinoZA @ThavaIndian Dinner During Lockdown #MissMonte
I was booked for early dinner at 6pm at Thava Restaurant in Montecasino which offers Indian Cuisine and that is my favorite and my family loves the same too. As we reached, the boom gates were already open in Montecasino and you could park anywhere. The parking was not fully fulled like on the weekends before Covid-19 but it had plenty of cars. The guards on the duty have installed the Sanitizer machine along with body temperature machines passing which he checks your belongings and lets you enter. Mask is a necessity whatever your age is and they won't allow you access if you don't have one. My younger one was not wearing so we had to make one out of the handkerchief so as to enter the establishment. Even in the washrooms, there is one host to spray sanitizer on your hands after and before entering inside Montecasino.
40th Birthday @MontecasinoZA @ThavaIndian Dinner During Lockdown #MissMonte
At the Thave Restaurant too, the manager took the body temperature again and noted down all the necessary details to backtrace you in case of anything. The menus are now on a printed paper which gets recycled after every use and there are no alcoholic drinks available. Though the menu mentioned some of the items won't be available, I didn't find anything which I wanted to order in Vegetarian Menu not made available to me.
40th Birthday @MontecasinoZA @ThavaIndian Dinner During Lockdown #MissMonte
The waiter served the famous Boondi snack which you get at all Thava Restaurants as a welcome snack rather than the Papads which you get at all the other Indian restaurants.
40th Birthday @MontecasinoZA @ThavaIndian Dinner During Lockdown #MissMonte
The table counts were extremely reduced and there was a lot of distance between all of the setup at the restaurant to meet the strict government guidelines to opening a restaurant. Many people were eating at the venue and taking away the ordered food too. The staff was wearing disposable masks and was taking all kinds of precautions for the safety of its customers.
40th Birthday @MontecasinoZA @ThavaIndian Dinner During Lockdown #MissMonte
We ordered Chilli Panner and Spinach Chaat which is one of my favorite items on the menu and is only available at this restaurant in Johannesburg. After enjoying the starters and munching them to our heart's content we moved on to the main course and for the first time, I tried the Thava Kerala Parantha which was so soft and loved by everyone that we moved from Garlic Naan to ordering the Kerala Parantha in our second serving. The Vegetable Biryani was also one of the items which were not only tasty but was well prepared and this was the first time I tried it in this restaurant.
40th Birthday @MontecasinoZA @ThavaIndian Dinner During Lockdown #MissMonte
We ordered the regular Daal Makhani and Paneer Tikka Masala as our regular veggies which get served with Zeera Rice bowls. After not eating outside for more than 4 months, I loved every bite of the same. For all of these 4 months, we only ordered pizza twice and a food collection twice and totally stuck to our daily regular meals with experimentations in between. So it felt really change of taste and spices as we ate at one of the best restaurants in the city.
40th Birthday @MontecasinoZA @ThavaIndian Dinner During Lockdown #MissMonte
Reyansh kept drinking a lot of water and made us take several trips to the washrooms leaving very little time to finish the dessert and eventually gulped down the plate of Gulab Jamuns I ordered for myself. The Thava restaurant closes at 8pm daily and the casino closes at 830pm daily. I didn't want to leave my share of Gulab Jamuns so I ordered a new plate but it was so hot that it took time meanwhile the staff started packing their stuff.
40th Birthday @MontecasinoZA @ThavaIndian Dinner During Lockdown #MissMonte
Overall, it was a full-fledged multi-meal course that I really loved at my birthday and I shall always remember the 40th one in 2020. Thanks to Montecasino and Thava Restaurant for making it possible. Check it out and book your lunch or dinner with Thava @ Montecasino and support all the local eateries around the place you live or work.

May Divine Lamps Lighten Our Paths #Joburg #SA #PhotoYatra #TheLifesWayCaptures

Hi Friends,

During these COVID-19 times where boredom and depression are making its roots inside all of us, an earthen Diya or lamp if lightened in our homes can definitely bring the hope that our mind and heart need.
May Divine Lamps Lighten Our Paths #Joburg #SA #PhotoYatra #TheLifesWayCaptures
Light can bring a ray of hope to our hearts even when everything seems like darkness. We need to focus on making ourselves ready when all this is over.
May Divine Lamps Lighten Our Paths #Joburg #SA #PhotoYatra #TheLifesWayCaptures
The light can not only reach our minds but will show us the way forward to enjoy our best of days together in harmony.
May Divine Lamps Lighten Our Paths #Joburg #SA #PhotoYatra #TheLifesWayCaptures
The times like these show us that it's our soul that means something and not the covering we are covered with like caste, creed, religion, money, and fortunes.
May Divine Lamps Lighten Our Paths #Joburg #SA #PhotoYatra #TheLifesWayCaptures
It will be defined by how much light you have in your heart? If your heart has the light to see this through then you have a heart made of gold and no matter how much hidden it is it will be shown to the world sooner or later.
