New Year Resolutions - Week 20 Achievements & Failures in 2023 #TheLifesWay

Hi Guys,

Week 20 is the week where I will be on the verge of becoming a 2k creator since it's been over a year since I reached 1000 subscribers last year on May-22.

1. YouTube - The daily 5 YouTube shorts is going strong and sometimes I want to miss a day or two but once I have done a commitment, I don't listen to anything else. I have always believed that our spoken words create our future and we should always respect our spoken words. Despite having been sick since the mid of the previous week, I have had a lot of videos created earlier which I found and posted during those days when I could not create on the same day. This habit has really helped me reach 1996 subscribers by the end of this week.

New Year Resolutions - Week 20 Achievements & Failures in 2023 #TheLifesWay

This week was totally focused on getting well and posting 5 shorts every day. We will focus on creating this whole post on the same.

2. Launch Event - Huawei launched its new smartphone called Huawei P60 Pro at Kyalami on 18 May 23. The phone camera is really good and I totally loved it. I didn't get the phone to review and didn't get the chance to go to Dubai for the earlier launch event in Dubai despite posting all the press releases over the years which goes more than 250+ on this blog. I don't think I will be able to forget the same and this time they gave 2 tickets to one of their music events as a goodie bag for which we had to wait a long time as well post the completion of the event in Johannesburg.

The other event I was invited to was to Nomad Restaurant launch in Montecasino where my wife and daughter went and they totally enjoyed the food. I also tried their Vegetarian pizza later which they brought home for me and I also totally loved the same. It had the middle easter flavours or let's say it had the amount of chilli and masala that I like in the pizza.

There was another event that I missed as one was in Pretoria which was too far and Joburg one was in CBD that I missed due to the Huawei event at the same time. It was from Spotify Podcaster and I really wanted to learn the skill to start podcasting as well. I have to work on something of a storyline that I will start telling the world soon.

3. Thank You - The count started from 69000 onwards and reached the 96000+ mark to close the week as the counter then went to zero by mistake. The counter sometimes gets hit at the reset button as I am picking up groceries from the car and then it goes back to zero. It always is a pain to see it getting to zero after reaching closer to 100k. Do you get the same feeling as well when the number is near and the device resets to zero?

4. Reading Books/Listening to Audiobooks - This year reading or audiobooks have taken a backseat as I am not going for a walk every day. Last year I have that 1000km target but this year I am not following the same. Due to this I have not heard much of the audiobooks and have not read a lot of books as well. I am not sure when I will be able to bring back the fun of reading books this year as so far I have not done anything other than only checking the abstracts of the books using the getAbstract app.

5. Stationery - Recently I have taken a lot of interest in collecting special stationery items like Fountain Pens and also contacted some brands to do some reviews. I am looking forward to going to the first Stationery Expo in Johannesburg next week on 25 May 2023. A lot of Indian brands are going to be there and I am sure I will get a lot of samples which I am going to review soon on my Youtube channel as well. If you want anything specific or anything you want me to focus on, please do let me know.

I am sure I am intentionally focused towards going the video route as I am seeing a lot of interest from the general public in them. If you want me to review any app, any gadgets or any stationery items please do let me know. Give me a subscription also if you are on my channels!

Aum Namah Shivay!

Till next time...Aashish
Thanks! Cheers!!!

New Year Resolutions - Week 08 Achievements & Failures in 2023 #TheLifesWay

Hi Guys,

Week 8 has been an entertainment powerhouse week as I watched a lot of movies and attended a lot of events. More than that this was a week where I got my single monthly cheque from my employer that keeps me going or paying my bills. Yes, I can't be rich if I only rely on this one payment in terms of 8-10 of work every day. Over the years now after Covid-19 I have observed that your life is limited and then you have to work for money or skills upliftment so that you can encash it. Tech space is changing fast so you also have to be a quick brown fox so that you can jump over the lazy dog.

Increase your salary as high as possible and take risks - Don't get settled.

1. Entertainment - I started the week by watching Cirkus movie starring Ranveer Singh and Varun Sharma. I loved the light-hearted comedy despite it being not a hit at the box office. I also watched Shiv Shasti Balboa starring Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta and totally loved the same though most of the dialogues and scenes Anupam sir also told on the Kapil Sharma show which led to nothing left to watch in the movie. Revealing a lot of details about the movie during the promotional tours is not a great strategy. I then moved to a 3 episode series from TVF - SK Sir ki Class which is a spin-off of the TVF Aspirants series that I wanted it to continue but this one has not reached the level Aspirants is and that's why they finished the same in 3 episodes only. I also completed the Hindi movie LOST starring Yami Gautam Dhar and it took me a lot of days to finish this tiresome movie.

2. Launch Events - I attended the opening ceremony of the Fujifilm South Africa office in the Sandton area. The view from this space is really awesome overlooking Hurlingham and Randburg. Then I also attended the Doritos Event where they launched the new chilli versions of Nik Naks, Doritos and Simba chips. It was a fun outing and we got packets of each too to try at home. I also attended a housewarming party of a friend who bought a big villa and did some prayers along with a party thereafter.

3. Thank You - I didn't do this at all this week on the counter. Totally failed in this grand scheme of things.
New Year Resolutions - Week 08 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay #2023
4. Daily Prayers - I am not sure if I am regular in this activity as well since the completion of 42 years of Hanuman Chalisa. Complete failure in this regard also, a daily power source is needed to light up your life and give you the confidence to carry on despite all the internal struggles.

5. Goodies - What I have observed this year the goodies that are being given at the end of launch events are a total disaster. The time spent at the event without the vegetarian food to enjoy, the gift is not worth your time at all. The coverage that you need to give on your blog and social media platforms is more extra work for that pack of chips or concert tickets. I be rather stay at home and save on petrol and time which I can enjoy with my family or read a book on my Kindle.

You may have observed that I have posted the failures or talked about them in my posts but it's best to take them out of the system. If I have failed, I have failed. I have to accept that failures and wins are part of life and we can't stay settled thinking that we have won but the point where you are in life, everyone else has left that point long back and you are now lagging behind everyone else.

Till next time...Aashish
Thanks! Cheers!!!

New Year Resolutions - Week 02 Achievements & Failures in 2023 #TheLifesWay

Hi Guys,

This year is going to be a free flow as wherever life is going to take me I will go. I am not going to plan anything for as long as I can and experiment if this is the right way or if living with goals is the right way?

I am sure you all know the answer to this question already living with purpose is the best way to live your life because it gives you the motivation to wake up in the morning and work towards your goals. Anyhow, I will let my mind wander in search of some creativity so that it can gather a lot as I wander in different directions without any goals.
New Year Resolutions - Week 02 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay #2023
1. Entertainment - The second week was big on web series and watching some old movies along with new ones on the streaming platforms, especially Disney+. I started with watching the movies named Thai Massage, Phone Bhoot, Doctor G, National Treasure Part 1 and 2, and Brahmastra all in a single week. Along with them, I watched the National Treasure Web series that came on Disney+ and Trail by Fire on Netflix on Uphar Fire Tragedy. Out of all of them Phone Bhoot starring Katrina Kaif is the one I enjoyed the most and Brahmastra is on my big Samsung 65-inch TV with family with speakers on to enjoy the Kesaria and other songs in full volume. I learned a new hack on the Android TV box as I faced some audio problems with the volume not going higher because it was controlled by the android tv's inbuilt multimedia player app. I am using Xiaomi 4K Stick and the video is here for you to watch and buy it if you like it -
2. Data Transfer - Once you start this activity there is no looking back and you are in this web of mindless tasks that keeps sucking you in and in. You will get ideas as you start the transfers and then you get some more to arrange the data according to your preferences. Once you do this task, you will understand why all the books say that Boredom is a relative of the invention as well. My activity carried on and then I unearthed how and where my data is scattered I am not able to find the right stuff when I need it and that's the biggest problem.

My advice is to arrange the photos/videos as per the events ordered by the dates so that you know what you are looking for. You already know your birthday, your marriage anniversary, and the birthday of your spouse and kids so arrange all the data as per those dates within a single-year folder and then create another the next year.

3. School Travel - This time I hired a driver to leave Keisha's school as it was really hectic and traffic is too high in the high schools as compared to the primary schools. Reyansh is still going with me and that in itself is hectic but so is life so we have to do it all throughout the year. Thanks to getAbstract I can easily finish 2-3 book summaries depending on my concentration towards listening and understanding. It's really a great option to check out the main points of the books in a short concise 10-15 min audio format.

4. Maintenance - I got my car brakes changed finally which has been pending for many months. It took hardly 2 hours to get it done at TyreMart in Randburg where they did the skimming and replaced the old pads with new ones on my Honda Civic.

For the maintenance of the soul, I visited the Radhey Shyam Temple in Marlboro and felt so grateful that the Almighty Lord gave me darshan and called me to the temple after a long long gap.

5. Thank You - Chanting Thank You is the best find from Ken Honda's book Happy Money. I also did his Mindvalley course. I think I will have to repeat it every quarter to change my money belief system. I am sure we all need to work on our belief systems throughout our life. I did some 12000 Thank You during the course of this week. To keep a count I will add it to these weekly posts itself rather than going and checking them which I won't do ever also. Hence, 2023 Total = 12000

6. YouTube - I did focus on YouTube videos at the start of the year till this week to bring as many as possible so do give it a spin and let me know what you want to watch in the coming future.
I brought this weekly series back as I saw the reader's interest in Week 1 post as it remains the top-read post for this year. Thanks for giving all your love to my blog and YouTube channel. Your time is my only blessing. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

Thanks for your time, Aashish

Cheers!!!

New Year Resolutions - Week 48 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay

Hi Guys,

Week 48 - Sat 26 Nov 2022 - Fri 02 Dec 2022

Week 48 is the last week of November going into December 2022. I did what kept me at bay for so long and that was the booster dose for the Covid-19 vaccine. I went to Tara Hospital at 50, Saxon Road, Hurlingham which is the place which is still doing Pfizer vaccination in case you need to go. After that, for 2-3 days I was down and really down due to the third dose.

1. Daily Walking - I completed the month of Nov-22 at my highest ever with 115.86 kilometres in total for a single month. This has been the best performance during the whole year of 2022. I did around 30.65 km in total for this week. The week ended with me reaching 925.69 km and for the rest of the 3 weeks, I need to do only 75km to reach 1000 km. With all the efforts done in Nov-22, I could reach the target.

2. Entertainment - I watched Chup! a movie that I watched in anticipation of it being good but it's a one-time watch. I also loved watching Khakee: The Bihar Chapter based on the book and life of IPS officer Amit Lodha. The series has been made really well and is available on Netflix for your viewing pleasure. I also watched a movie on YouTube called Zed Plus which is an old 2014 movie. I watched the movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever that's been pending for a long long time. I didn't like it much but overall it's also a one-time watch for sure. There have been some missing components that only came together at the end and it's a great emotional ending that will uplift the future of the Black Panther movie series.

3. Covid-19 Booster Vaccine - I took my third vaccine from Pfizer and it really made me nostalgic as to how I was suffering when I was actually down due to Covid. It's a real eye-opener that life is too short to let your ego take all the decisions. I felt okay only after 2-3 days and as Covid is rising again in China, let's wait and watch the impact if any on the other countries.
New Year Resolutions - Week 48 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay
4. 10 Years of The Life's Way - December is the month when I celebrate my blog The Life's Way and this year it will complete its 10th anniversary on 27 Dec 2022. I have no giveaways planned as this year I reduced the time I spent on my blog and only did around 138 blog posts with very less press releases. No brands collaborated so I invested my time in books and audiobooks. Going to 2023, I will only post for those brands which will do some collaborations with me through trade exchanges or sponsored posts. You only have limited time and don't waste it living a wishful life where in reality you are not getting anything in return.

5. getAbstract - Do you have 15 minutes to enhance your knowledge like never before? If you are a frequent traveller and can't invest time in completing the whole book reading then you can stay in touch with all the latest releases across your niche and interest by reading the summaries of the books. You can also listen to the same too if doing some jogging or exercise. You can grasp the main learning points from the books in the shortest time possible. If you love Quotes and want to tell someone those are specially bookmarked by the website. You can learn more about the authors as well. It can also download (Mobi format) for offline reading on your kindle free of cost or you can send it using the kindle email but Amazon will charge a small fee. The library now includes videos and podcasts from all the famous non-fiction authors. So what are you waiting for? If you subscribe using the link, you will get a massive 30% discount on any of your membership plans!

This year I have invested in a lot of learning platforms like getAbstract, Skillshare, Mindvalley, Masterclass etc and in 2023 for sure I will schedule myself to get the most benefit out of all of them and will share with you guys too!

Cheers!!!

New Year Resolutions - Week 46 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay

Hi Guys,

Week 46 - Sat 12 Nov 2022 - Fri 18 Nov 2022

Week 46 is just 6 weeks left from the end of 2022 in which I have to plan for the December holidays as well as some other things in life that need to be completed.

1. Daily Walking - I did around 21km to reach 870 kilometres but the target is still 130 kilometres far and I am sure this month I will break all my walking targets with renewed energy towards the completion of my goal. I told you earlier as well that with the right intention, any goal is achievable.

2. Entertainment - I focused on a lot of entertainment as I watched Sooraj Barjatya's Uunchai movie that stars Amitabh Bachchan, Danny Denzongpa, Boman Irani and Anupam Kher along with Neena Gupta, Sarika and Parineeti Chopra. I really loved their journey to the base camp of Everest which is also my dream journey one day in future. If you have still not watched the movie do watch it as it's now available on the Zee5 Streaming platform. The music of the movie is great and the friendship story has a very emotional touch with the right kind of comedy and drama. The first half is really great. I also started watching Mukhbir - The Story of a Spy and totally loved it too. The same is also available on the Zee5 streaming platform for your viewing pleasure. It's an action thriller about an Indian spy in Pakistan to gather crucial intelligence and saves his country from the attacks during the wars between India and Pakistan.
3. YouTube Videos - I continued to post a lot of videos during this period as well and did some 14 long-form and short videos. The one thing I bought was this Lamy Ink in Turquoise colour that is very much closer to my heart -
I also did some videos for the Pilot Pens and Pencils -
Let me know if you love stationery products like myself!

4. Product Reviews - I completed the review for the Denon Earphones and you can check them here. It's really nice and you can spend ZAR 2.7K to buy them from Homemation online and retail stores. They went back to the company after the review period but the ANC and other features are really nice on this one.

5. getAbstract - Do you have 15 minutes to enhance your knowledge like never before?

I am definitely enjoying this service myself as now every morning, I can finish the summary of a book and then can make an informed decision if I have to read the full book at any point in future or if the summary is enough to learn from the book. This subscription definitely helps to build your second brain if you have heard about this concept from Tiago Forte.

This year I have invested in a lot of learning platforms and in 2023 for sure I will schedule myself to get the most benefit out of all of them and will share with you guys too!

Cheers!!!

New Year Resolutions - Week 45 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay

Hi Guys,

Week 45 - Sat 05 Nov 2022 - Fri 11 Nov 2022

Week 45 is also focused on completing all the pending tasks for the year and enjoying the journey too. I am so grateful to everyone for reading all these blog posts. Do let me know what inspiration you have taken from them?

1. Daily Walking - I have picked up pace this week also and completed 848km of my journey towards the 1000km mark and clocked 26.27km this week. This is despite the fact that I took rest for 2 days on the weekends due to extensive walking in the previous week. The deadline towards the goals is the best motivator if your intent is to complete the same task within the same timelines.

New Year Resolutions - Week 45 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay

2. Launch Events - I attended the Samsung Innovation invite at the Johannesburg Head Office where they introduced us to their upcoming technology and other innovative products line up in 2023. There was a TV which cost around 2.5-3 Million ZAR and it will be worth watching the same once it comes to reality in South Africa. After the same, I went to the Dell Tech Forum which I only reached when it was almost finished and got some goodies despite reaching super late. The video of the goodies received is here -

3. Product Reviews - I received the second version of the Instax Mini Link 2 Smartphone Printer and this one is the best if you want to buy for your portable Instax photo prints on the go. I also got some other products to review that will be done in future.

4. Entertainment - I watched a new web series on the Disney Plus streaming platform called Save Our Squad with David Beckham which features a small team from the bottom of the charts and with his guidance reaches the first half of the points table.

5. Healthy Living - Using the daily Iron tablets and taking the other medicines has definitely started to show some impact on the overall motivation and energy levels. You shall definitely take something to keep your energy levels up. When the body is not able to produce a lot of vitamins from general food habits then it's good to take multivitamins from time to time but under the supervision of a Doctor. You can't take anything just like that as it can lead to some problems in your kidneys and other organs.

Overall Week 45 is something that is keeping me towards all my goals for the year that I set at the start of the year. I feel great as I read a lot of books, listened to a lot of audiobooks, watched a lot of YouTube videos, a lot of web series and movies, subscribed to Skillshare, getAbstract and so many great platforms that kept on my learning levels high. I want to take it further up in 2023 and use some of these platforms a lot more than I did in 2022. getAbstract is special because it saves me a lot of time and gives me the best synopsis or summary or gist of all the books and even articles in an audio or pdf format for me to go through at my convenience. I am really invested in getabstract for making a better choice of books and learnings.

Cheers!!!
