#LetsBeKids New Brand Campaign by @FisherPrice

The new campaign invites grown-ups to grow-down and rediscover the joy of playtime! 

The launch coincides with the first-ever review of scientific studies looking at evidence of the positive effects that playing with children has on parents, which has been completed by leading child development expert, Dr Jacqueline Harding 

Fisher-Price, the leading infant pre-school brand, has debuted a new multi-year, 360-degree marketing campaign titled, “Let’s Be Kids,” that celebrates seeing the world as kids see it, with optimism and humour whilst also extending an open invitation to grown-ups to grow-down and rediscover the joy of playtime. 

The campaign launch coincides with the first literature review of academic studies on the positive effects that playing with children has on parents and grandparents conducted by Dr. Jacqueline Harding, a leading child development expert and a senior lecturer at the University of Middlesex, UK. 

Dr. Harding, who has looked at more than 100 research papers across neuroscience and behavioural psychology for this report, states that playtime should be seen as an essential ‘antidote’ to adult stress commenting that “there is tons of research out there looking at the value of play to children, but less is known about the mutual benefits for adults.” 

Dr. Harding continues: “By looking at scientific research across a range of disciplines around play, we are starting to recognise that grown-ups can reap huge advantages like reduction in levels of stress hormones, increase a sense of well-being, or even for older generations, the active play has the potential to prevent cognitive decline that can happen as people age – all by engaging with playtime.” 

“Let’s Be Kids” campaign includes a series of video spots that feature much-loved Fisher-Price toys from its almost 90-year history, including a hero 60-second brand anthem video starring American actor John Goodman. Goodman is cast as the classic farmer from Fisher-Price’s Little People collection walking through a fantastical world amid a treasure trove of nostalgic characters inspired by iconic toys such as the Chatter Phone and First Words Puppy. Additional spots focus on specific products and portray the magic of what a child is seeing and feeling while they’re engaged with a toy. 

Ruth Henriquez, EMEA Marketing Director for Fisher-Price says: “At Fisher-Price we have always given a unique voice to the culture of childhood and this refreshing new modern campaign is a fun and imaginative way to recapture the joy of childhood by inviting parents back into this world and as the science backs up, there has never been a better time to engage in playtime!” 

Dr. Harding concludes: “Research shows that children laugh about 600 times a day, while adults laugh about five if we are lucky. We need to bring playfulness back and who better to show us how than our kids! Sitting down and playing could be not only the best thing you can do for your child. It could also the best thing you do for yourself as a parent.”

40th Birthday @MontecasinoZA @ThavaIndian Dinner During Unlock #MissMonte

Who would have predicted that 2020 will have so much in store for all of us? Getting out of houses has become not only difficult but you are taking enough care to protect yourselves and your loved ones too. South Africa has opened up the dine-in option at several restaurants around the country and I too made use of the same to celebrate my 40th birthday with my family. Here I am going to write about my experience of the whole experiment of dining-in as the lockdown relaxations are in place. My mind kept calculating all the risks related to the situation and thought of finally checking out the place. 

I was booked for early dinner at 6pm at Thava Restaurant in Montecasino which offers Indian Cuisine and that is my favorite and my family loves the same too. As we reached, the boom gates were already open in Montecasino and you could park anywhere. The parking was not fully fulled like on the weekends before Covid-19 but it had plenty of cars. The guards on the duty have installed the Sanitizer machine along with body temperature machines passing which he checks your belongings and lets you enter. Mask is a necessity whatever your age is and they won't allow you access if you don't have one. My younger one was not wearing so we had to make one out of the handkerchief so as to enter the establishment. Even in the washrooms, there is one host to spray sanitizer on your hands after and before entering inside Montecasino. 

At the Thave Restaurant too, the manager took the body temperature again and noted down all the necessary details to backtrace you in case of anything. The menus are now on a printed paper which gets recycled after every use and there are no alcoholic drinks available. Though the menu mentioned some of the items won't be available, I didn't find anything which I wanted to order in Vegetarian Menu not made available to me.

The waiter served the famous Boondi snack which you get at all Thava Restaurants as a welcome snack rather than the Papads which you get at all the other Indian restaurants. 

The table counts were extremely reduced and there was a lot of distance between all of the setup at the restaurant to meet the strict government guidelines to opening a restaurant. Many people were eating at the venue and taking away the ordered food too. The staff was wearing disposable masks and was taking all kinds of precautions for the safety of its customers. 

We ordered Chilli Panner and Spinach Chaat which is one of my favorite items on the menu and is only available at this restaurant in Johannesburg. After enjoying the starters and munching them to our heart's content we moved on to the main course and for the first time, I tried the Thava Kerala Parantha which was so soft and loved by everyone that we moved from Garlic Naan to ordering the Kerala Parantha in our second serving. The Vegetable Biryani was also one of the items which were not only tasty but was well prepared and this was the first time I tried it in this restaurant.

We ordered the regular Daal Makhani and Paneer Tikka Masala as our regular veggies which get served with Zeera Rice bowls. After not eating outside for more than 4 months, I loved every bite of the same. For all of these 4 months, we only ordered pizza twice and a food collection twice and totally stuck to our daily regular meals with experimentations in between. So it felt really change of taste and spices as we ate at one of the best restaurants in the city. 

Reyansh kept drinking a lot of water and made us take several trips to the washrooms leaving very little time to finish the dessert and eventually gulped down the plate of Gulab Jamuns I ordered for myself. The Thava restaurant closes at 8pm daily and the casino closes at 830pm daily. I didn't want to leave my share of Gulab Jamuns so I ordered a new plate but it was so hot that it took time meanwhile the staff started packing their stuff.

Overall, it was a full-fledged multi-meal course that I really loved at my birthday and I shall always remember the 40th one in 2020. In continuation and separating the two cars under the same Tata Group who bought Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford in June 2008. You won't believe it's an Indian car or owned by an Indian company TATA. 

Coming back to these ultra-luxurious vehicles fitted with the technology to make your heart fall in love and to keep your family safe and comfortable. Range Rover, Land Rover, and Discovery are the three range of products in their arsenal. 

Life is all about experiencing different things whatever it may be travel, cars, food or introspection. I can surely tell you that these cars will make you want them immediately. 

The automatic controls keep checking the brakes when you are coming downhill to control the speed by itself or you can do it yourself manually. And it does so without any kind of skidding as it gives preferential power to any of the tires as required. 

The vehicles range from R700k upwards and come in both Petrol and Diesel versions and the best part is that you can customize your own vehicle. 

It can easily tilt up to 45 degrees before being getting turtled and the infotainment screen shows at what angle you are currently driving your car.  

Turns and curves are part of the game at the experience center and there comes a point where the car tilts from one part to another and running on 3 tires only. But the control is so smooth that even who is not advanced driver will be able to do it with the artificial intelligence built into the car. 

Finally, the car can easily cross any stream or river without getting stuck but I do assume there must be some limitations to the same. But you can go and watch the process at the Jaguar Landrover Experience Centre in Lonehill any day. Go check it out and take a lot of photos as a 90-minute experience can be booked with the experience center at around R1300 at 1 Capricorn Drive, Lonehill, Sandton from Monday to Sunday - 8am to 5pm. Finally, the sun is never going to set on Land Rover as it's the luxury you can have in your life and will give you the freedom to be yourself. I wish the same for myself and I do dream to own one in my lifetime.

Hi Friends,

I am always interested in participating in Instagram meets and when Explore ZA Johannesburg who actively organizes Instameets every alternate month and also Day Workshops in Photography and videography. I asked my family and friends to visit as it will be my first time at JLR Experience in Lonehill, Johannesburg, South Africa. 

I never thought about performance cars as they are always beyond my budget and I have no need for speed. I always want to drive the car which I can buy and that's my idea of a test drive.

At first sight, you feel the beauty of these cars and when you hear the sound of their guzzle it really makes you stand in awe. I didn't enter the queue to drive these cars on the skid pan or on the drifting spin but took these photos. 

The Jaguar is a beautiful sports car the way it handles and it's in the same category as Ford Mustang and other high-performance cars. 

The feature on these cars can handle the fast speed, brakes and the overall security it provides in case it goes out of control is amazing. ABS switched On brings the car back on track within milliseconds.  

JLR experience is something that took away my thinking of driving only those cars which I can afford but also to experience vehicles that are out of my reach to remember the drivability. It has made me more open and acceptable to other vehicles.
