25 Days To www.TheLifesWay.com 5th Birthday Celebrations #5YearsofTheLifesWay #27Dec2017 #Technology

Hi Friends,

#Technology

I have always been attached to technology and it was my luck or dream that I went into completing Electronics Engineering. I was always in love with the camera and when I got a camera phone gifted by my brother, I took unlimited photos till the memory was full. During those times, VGA camera was the highest and then later Nokia had some 1.3MP camera installed. Later, I got Nokia N8 which had the 3.2MP camera and it was awesome to take photos using the same. At that time, the main camera I was using had only 5 MP sensor. Camera in future phones crossed 40MP in Nokia 1020 and it was amazing to use the same phone for a review period. I went to the launch event of the same in India and it was simply awesome.

I loved my HTC phones always and I bought one after Google's Nexus One made by HTC died due to the broken power button. It was a common issue on that phone which I only came to know after mines got broken. I had to spend a lot of money to buy HTC One M7 but I fell in love with the same immediately. I had a choice at that time to buy Samsung Galaxy Note 2 as it was cheaper and was coming with exchange offer in India which would have saved me enough money to buy another mid-range smartphone. But when I used my Bose Earphones on HTC One M7 on a demo unit at the retail store, the audio impact was the difference between Samsung and HTC device. I went and bought HTC One M7 and after coming here to South Africa took a lot of pictures here.

25 Days To www.TheLifesWay.com 5th Birthday Celebrations #5YearsofTheLifesWay #27Dec2017 #Technology

HTC's PR Company gifted me HTC One M8 (old review unit) way back in 2015 and I am still using the same but now it's time to upgrade once again. In my 5th year of The Life's Way, I would buy if not sponsored the smartphone soon. I use my smartphone to take photos, post them on Instagram, I tweet a lot and also sometimes I write a whole blog post on the smartphone using Swype keyboard. I still remember I have written some chapters when I collaborated with another bloggers to write a novel using the flow method used in Swype keyboard app.

I have bought a lot of technology in my life but never learned to recycle the same. It was still with me but now as I am nearing the second half of my life, I am giving it all away to the poor and needy in India. My mom has already distributed all the 13 old Nokia phones models I had. I am reducing my lifestyle to follow minimalism and use only one device at a time for the purpose I want it to. I want to reduce all the electronics clutter I have in the new year and that's a resolution for 2018.

Cheers!!!

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Sep 2015 www.thelifesway.com #TheLifesWay

Hi Guys,

September is start of the Spring in Johannesburg and it's the best weather to go around and see the city with Jacaranda flowers blooming and making it all purple. I love Johannesburg more than London because of the weather and opportunity to drive around the country. September last year at The Life's Way was more of smartphones launches and other movie events which I was part of.

1. Mate S: @HuaweiZA Luxurious Smartphone unveiled #IFA2015 - http://www.thelifesway.com/2015/09/mate-s-huaweiza-luxurious-smartphone.html - Mate S was launched in between Mate 7 and Mate 8 model by Huawei. The price was too high for this smartphone that it became just a holding device to target someone looking for something other than iPhone 6Plus. I have created so much content for Huawei South Africa but got no smartphone to keep or any paid assignment that now I have to rethink about my love for them. Huawei also launched their smartwatch.

2. Spring Clean your #Android Smartphone #HTCOneLifeSA - http://www.thelifesway.com/2015/09/spring-clean-your-android-smartphone.html - HTC has been my favourite device since the start and when HTC One M7 was launched, I chose to buy that leaving behind my love for the S-pen in Samsung Note 2. HTC gifted me M8 on my birthday 22 July in 2015 which was a review device but a gift is a gift and I am so grateful to the brand.

3. Get Snap Happy #HTCOneLifeSA #Android Smartphone Apps - http://www.thelifesway.com/2015/09/get-snap-happy-htconelifesa-android.html - Smartphone apps can help the mobile camera pictures you took look amazingly awesome. I have been using them a lot to share my content on my instagram.com/araijain channel and on my photography blog "Photo Yatra".

Check out some more posts too -
  Aashish Rai #Blogger #Influencer The Life's Way #PhotoYatra
4. @CapitecBankSA brings even more colour to #CapitecColorRun in #Jozi - http://www.thelifesway.com/2015/09/capitecbanksa-brings-even-more-colour.html - Fitness is the biggest business all over the world because all materialistic things stays here if your health is lost. Road running is one of the best things you can do in South Africa as every weekend there will be some new race events happening with a small fees requiring your running license. No matter who the sponsors are but every one is happy to be involved and get a medal at the end of the race with some goodies bags thrown in.

5. The more you travel, more miles you earn @Citibank #PremierMilesCard #India - http://www.thelifesway.com/2015/09/the-more-you-travel-more-miles-you-earn.html - Generally we get press releases and post the same with little or no changes. I don't get any payment to post them as it's about relationship with the PR company but when you have to write the content, I want to get paid for the same. Indiblogger and Blogadda has been my start to earn some gift vouchers and buying stuff with those gift vouchers will give me extreme happiness.

In life, no matter where you are, you can always stay positive and hopeful to bring you what you want and what you deserve. I sometime feel down or demotivated but then I feel grateful for "The Life's Way" as to what it has brought for me in my life. I have been to many places, done many things, received unlimited gift and goodies due to the same. I continue to attract more and more brands as they shower their love when they see the passion and returns I give them on social media content sharing. I still have some long wish list which I will get from The Life's Way for sure!!!

Cheers!!!

@HTCSouthAfrica Latest Luxurious Metallic Creation #HTCOneX9 #HTCOneLifeSA

Hi Guys,

Following the trend that HTC set for all-metal smartphones when it launched the HTC One M7, its design team has, once again, raised the bar when it comes to creating beautifully crafted devices.

Driven by the belief that design should be inspired by both your surroundings and personal and cultural influences, such as fashion and art, the newest member of the award-winning HTC One family - the HTC One X9 - pulls through the look and feel of high end silk, creating a softer, warmer and more luxurious finish to the phone.

Taking cues from the company’s metalmorphics philosophy, whichdraws on the natural beauty around us, by using rich, striking colors and unique finishes, the HTC One X9 uses a new technique to give it its fine texture. Tapping into the fashion world’s obsession with silver and gold, it comes in four colors - Carbon Grey, Opal Silver, Topaz Gold and Copper Rose – making it the perfect accessory.

At just 75.9mm, its glass curved front and finely honed corners make it one of the most slender handsets in its class. A 5.5-inch full HD screen with personalized color mode and rich display not only delivers the optimal multimedia experience, but also means that it is a phone you are proud to show off and carry around.

The hugely popular HTC Dot View™ II case adds the final design touch to the HTC One X9, fully enabling the beauty of this phone to shine through.

“Elegant, stylish and ergonomic smartphone design is an essential element for consumers today”, said Chialin Chang, President of Sales, HTC. “At the same time, they don’t want to sacrifice performance or screen size, so striking the right balance between style and size was key for this new addition to the HTC One family. The HTC One X9 draws on rich colors and unique finishes, combining them with a lightweight, slender metal design and larger screen for those who want a premium smartphone experience.”

Capturing beauty from both behind and in front of the lens
Working tirelessly to deliver an unparalleled experience, the camera quality on the HTC One X9 is one of the best in its class. By precision engineering two cameras, one front and one back, and a selection of image-enhancing features, the HTC One X9 enables you to capture breathtaking shots every time and from every angle. Combining the 13MP rear camera with its second-generation Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Real-time anti-shake functionality, and the front facing 5MP camera, with integrated Auto Selfie, Voice Selfie and Live Make Up, you can shoot clear, sharp, smooth images of the highest quality regardless of who is behind the lens.

RAW format’s one button enhancement feature automatically brightens colors and sharpens edges with one push, and other imaging tools commonly used by professional photographers such as Pro Mode and an advance manual control, add the finishing touches what is already one of the best cameras in its class. And if photography is not your thing, video buffs will have their inner film director inspired by 4K video resolution and Hyperlapse mode which allows you to create dramatic time-lapse effects.

Sound good to you?
Never compromising on audio, and with the knowledge that most people listen to music on their smartphone, the HTC One X9 creates larger than life audio, delivered by HTC BoomSound with Dolby™ Surround. Integrated amplifiers bring out the best of your music and provide an even more dynamic range of sound.

Software to stand out: Android 6.0 Marshmallow
Premium smartphone hardware demands the best software to support performance and the HTC One X9 uses the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow features for the best user experience. Google Now on Tap intuitively provides information about whatever is on your screen by holding the home button. Google Backup for Apps automatically backs up app data it to all capable Android-powered devices.

Looking forward to have it in my hands when I review the same. I am using my 4th HTC Smartphone now M8 since 2010 when I first started using G1, Nexus One and M7 later.

Cheers!!!

7 Tips For #Snapping Better #Pictures With Your #Smartphone #HTCOneLifeSA

Hi Guys,

Smartphones have democratized photography, giving everyone the opportunity to unlock their creativity. Though it’s easy to snap a picture, it takes some technical suss and imagination to create a photograph that will get your friends on Facebook and Instagram talking.

The good news, however, is that nearly anyone can learn how to take great snaps, provided they learn some basic disciplines and practice them until they become second nature. And with camera technology in smartphones improving all the time, these devices help you to capture meaningful moments and beautiful images wherever you are. After all, the best camera is the one with you, which is most likely to be your phone. It's getting so difficult to carry the DSLRs these days when you have 13-16MPs capacity camera sitting right in your pockets.

Here are some general tips from HTC for using your smartphone camera to capture better photos:

1. Pay attention to your background
Don’t get so caught up in focusing on your subject that you pay no attention to the background. For example, you don’t want to include the pavement rubbish bins when you’re taking a photo of your friend. Rather move closer or ask the person you’re photographing to step to the side to exclude the unwanted detail from the frame.

2. Choose a perspective
Take your photographs from unusual perspectives to create interesting effects. Shoot upwards from a low angle to make things look large, or take your shot from a higher angle make things look smaller or to capture a larger area of detail

3. Zoom with your feet
Zooming with your camera phone results in pixelation and increases sensitivity to camera shake, resulting in blurred imagery. Rather get closer to your subject for the perfect close-up.

4. Avoid camera shake
To lessen camera shake, be as still as possible while shooting: take a deep breath in, hold, snap, breathe out.

5. Avoid using your flash
Using flash can give your photos a sterile, over-lit look, which can be especially harsh on faces. If you must use flash, why not cover it with some tracing paper to soften the effect?

6. Learn which apps and filters you love
Experiment with filters apps like Instagram to create a style that you like. When people see a pic with a particular filter, they’ll recognise your style. Pro tip: The VSCO app provides filters that are emulations of popular film cameras. There are hundreds of combinations you can create with the number of filters provided.

7. Use apps to enhance your photos
Great photos are made in the editing process. Pro photographers almost always touch up their photos to get the exact look and effect they want. An app like Snapseed offers you basic editing tools and some cool filters to get you started. It also offers some features for heavy-duty editing once you’re more experienced.

I know everyone is master in their own art and style of photography they do and post on social media. Do share your comments and let's learn together and improve on our skills of mobile photography.

Cheers!!!

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Mar 2015 www.thelifesway.com

Hi Guys,

March 2015 was the time when the work started to build up in office and I needed to find time to work on my blog. I remember the time as I attended a lot of events and met a lot of new people. Also, I got in touch with my favourite brand HTC to review it's new phone HTC ONE M8 at that time.

1. Product Review - HTC One #M8 #HTCTheOne - http://www.thelifesway.com/2015/03/product-review-htc-one-m8-htctheone.html - HTC has been with me since the first Google G1 android phone in 2010 and then subsequently I moved to Nexus One in 2011 and bought my own HTC ONE M7 in 2012 when it was launched and really loved the Beats Audio in the same along with Boom Speakers. Now I am using M8 and really loving the performance of the same.

2. Product Review - @Kinivo BTE40 - Bluetooth Stereo Earphones - http://www.thelifesway.com/2015/03/product-review-kinivo-bte40-bluetooth.html - Bluetooth earphones are great accessory to your smartphones as it makes your life easier. I totally fell in love with Sony MW600 which I bought and reviewed it earlier but now I got this Kinivo one. Kinivo products are really cool and value for money. I have again fallen in love with this little bluetooth earphones.

3. Product Review - HUAWEI Mobile WiFi E5220 - http://www.thelifesway.com/2015/03/product-review-huawei-mobile-wifi-e5220.html - Huawei has now progressed into making smartphones also but this little 3G wifi dongle has helped me to stay connected no matter where I am. With battery life of almost 3-4 hours, I have been able to tweet/instagram using the Telkom data connection I use on this gadget. I received a new upgraded version of the device at one of the launches of Huawei but need to start using the same. Till that time, this one is working perfectly well other than sometimes it hangs and then you have to hard reboot the same.

4. @TheCapital_SA - 20 West - Stay Contemporary! - http://www.thelifesway.com/2015/03/thecapitalsa-20-west-stay-contemporary.html - I attended the media launch of Capital 20 West and totally loved the property. It's really a cool place to hang out which is just next to Graystone Drive and near Sandton City. Check it out sometime.

5. #AvengersJozi - SA Fashion Week & MARVEL Designs - http://www.thelifesway.com/2015/03/avengersjozi-sa-fashion-week-marvel.html - Disney Africa showcased it's clothing at the SA Fashion Week. The designs were as fabulous as Disney's cartoon characters and it has a lot to offer. Check it out.

Cheers!!!

#BeBrilliant With The Latest @HTC One A9 #HTCOneLifeSA

Hi Guys,

HTC unveiled the latest addition to the award-winning HTC One family, the HTC One A9. Melding the best of HTC’s acclaimed design and innovation with the latest from Google’s Android, this is a stunning, no-compromise smartphone that stands out from the crowd. Built for people who want a better choice, the HTC One A9 is a smartphone that combines striking design on the outside with the newest features of Android 6.0 Marshmallow with HTC Sense on the inside to create an unrivaled smartphone experience.

“HTC is a smartphone pioneer, having delivered the first Android smartphone, the first Windows smartphone, the first 4G smartphone, and the first all-metal smartphone,” said Cher Wang, chairwoman and CEO, HTC. “Today we’re taking that heritage of innovation to the next level, unveiling a phone that stands apart in a market increasingly dominated by a company which controls every aspect of your phone. The HTC One A9 breaks from this trend by offering an incredible design, fantastic performance, cutting-edge software features and the freedom to take full control of your smartphone experience.
Metalmorphics: A new standard of all-metal design excellence
An evolution of the iconic HTC One family design, the HTC One A9 draws on the natural beauty around us, by using rich, striking colors and unique finishes – an approach called “metalmorphics.” New curves, refined edges, and precision-cut ridges on the power button flawlessly combine with the super-thin metal frame giving the phone a natural and lightweight feel. The elegant dual finish, available in a Carbon Gray, Opal Silver, Topaz Gold and Deep Garnet, is painstakingly brushed with hairline detail and bead-blasted before the sides are polished, giving additional depth and richness that is unique to the smartphone market. Finally, in a stunning fusion of metal and glass, a 5-inch, edge-to-edge, 2.5D Corning® Gorilla® Glass 4, Full HD AMOLED screen cascades into the metal frame, giving you brighter and more vivid colors for brilliant graphics and gaming, even in direct sunlight.
Unleash your inner photographer
Your best camera is the one you use whenever the moment strikes, so it should be able to capture stunning shots in any situation. The HTC One A9’s front and rear cameras, coupled with powerful yet simple editing tools, mean epic photos and videos are only a tap away. Its main 13MP rear camera features Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), which automatically minimises hand shake and corrects vibrations to give you a crystal-clear picture every time. Meanwhile, the front UltraPixel camera delivers the best self-portraits in any lighting condition, using HTC’s UltraPixel sensor to capture 300% more light than conventional smartphone cameras.

With the HTC One A9, no detail is too small. Offering an optional Pro mode to capture the perfect photo without being a photography expert, you can also save photos using RAW capture – a tool used by professional photographers – for an unmatched level of detail and post-shot editing flexibility. Or you can keep things simple with Photo Editor’s one-button enhancement feature, which automatically brightens colors and sharpens edges for unbelievably clear and crisp photos.

Sometimes a still photo just isn’t enough. With the HTC One A9’s Hyperlapse editing tool you can speed up your videos to 12 times as fast for a dramatic time-lapse effect, creating an immersive video that perfectly captures the moments that matter. Speed through your video or use capture mode to edit in slow motion, highlighting those unforgettable memories. Or use HTC Zoe to easily and automatically mix your best shots and videos into one professional-looking highlight reel that can be shared with friends and family to tell the story of any moment from every angle.
Awesome audio: music the way it’s supposed to sound
Game changing audio has always been core to the HTC One family - the HTC One A9 delivers amazing sound quality, with HTC BoomSound™ integrated into the headset combined with Dolby Audio™ surround technology, delivering immersive, vibrant sound that matches a live experience in your headphones by taking high-resolution audio to the next level. With a built-in DAC that delivers audio at 24-bit, 192KHz quality – better than CD quality – it provides a richness and depth like you’ve never before heard from your music collection. A powerful high-output headphone amplifier, with double the output of other handsets, provides more power and dynamic range so you can hear every nuance of your favorite music, videos and games. Optional high-resolution audio certified HTC Pro Studio Earphones deliver both noise isolation and truly immersive sound.

Cutting-edge software: Android 6.0 Marshmallow
The first non-Nexus smartphone powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the HTC One A9 brings Google’s latest innovations and the simplicity of HTC Sense right out of the box. Combined with a multi-directional fingerprint scanner, Android Pay makes purchasing items as secure and as easy as “tap, pay, done.” Google’s Now on Tap feature also intuitively provides contextual information about whatever is on your screen – look up reviews for a movie from a text, hear a song mentioned in a blog post, or book seats at a restaurant from an email, all at the press of the home button.

With so many new features, the HTC One A9 has also been designed with all new power-saving capabilities to maximize battery life. Doze automatically turns off power hungry applications when your phone is left idle, such as when charging overnight, while App Standby knows when an app open in the background isn’t being used and shuts it down until you need it again. In addition, the phone’s new processor, AMOLED screen and support for the optional HTC Rapid Charger 2.0, for up to 75% faster charging are all optimized to maximize battery life throughout the day7. In real terms this means, for example, that you can play 12 hours of HD video on one charge.
Performance designed for the way YOU use your phone

Featuring the newest Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 617 processor with integrated X8 LTE and 64-bit octa-core CPUs, the HTC One A9 is designed to deliver a perfect balance of powerful performance, fast connectivity and better battery life. With support for epic LTE wireless speeds through next-generation carrier aggregation technology, it delivers more high-definition streaming videos, more pulse-pounding high-resolution audio and more storage in the cloud to hold everything your heart desires. The phone is available in both 16 and 32GB configurations and features expandable memory, supporting up to 2TB in SD card storage, perfect for storing all your apps, games, photos, music and videos.

To protect your smartphone, pair it with the HTC Dot View™ II case, available in Obsidian, Deep Garnet, Sea Coral and Turquoise Blue. Its retro-inspired dot matrix cover reveals instant notifications, weather updates, caller ID and more, even while closed, and simple gesture controls bring music, flashlight, radio and voice recording tools closer than ever. I am looking forward to see this phone in South Africa asap!

Cheers!!!

5 Great #Android Apps for #Cycling Enthusiasts #HTCOneLifeSA

Hi Guys,

David Donde is the owner of Truth Coffee Roasting, the Cape Town café in Buitenkant Street that The Telegraph newspaper in the UK recently chose as the best coffee shop in the world. He’s as passionate about his HTC Android smartphone and cycling as he is about brewing great coffee. Here are his five Android favourite apps for cyclists:

1. Strava
Strava allows you to track your runs and rides with GPS, join challenges and see how your running and riding compares to your friends' workouts. “It’s a must have for every cyclist,” says Donde.

This is a top-rated fitness tracker and personal training app. With Endomondo, you can track all of your workouts using GPS, check your stats, stay motivated, and reach your fitness goals.

Garmin Connect Mobile gives you access to all of your Garmin Connect data – anytime, anywhere. You can even share your activities as they happen and wirelessly upload activities and more.

This app makes it a snap to track fitness metrics such as heart rate, cycling speed, cadence, and power data, says Donde.

Instagram is a very popular app that lets you capture those great views you see when you’re cycling in the mountains or along the coast, and then share them with your friends and followers. Also it can be used to maintain moments of where you were in a particular week of the year.

Our health is in our hands and it's our duty to take care of our body and heart. All the exercise that we do, helps us in some way or other, so set a goal and start achieving the same daily. I am also working on my 10000 steps daily using the Walklogger App on my HTC One M8 device which also have Fitbit app pre-installed.

Cheers!!!

Precautions to keep Data Safe in case of Stolen Mobile #HTCOneLifeSA

Hi Guys,

Smartphones are easily stolen or lost, which means that it’s important to take the appropriate steps to improve the security of your device and data. Here are some tips on how you can keep your information safe from prying eyes if your smartphone ends up in a stranger’s hands:

1. Set a screen lock
A screen lock is designed to help to protect your personal information and prevent others from using your mobile device without your express permission. Most modern smartphone platforms make it easy for you to put a password in place that prevents unauthorized people from accessing your device when the screen is locked. This is the first step towards security.

2. Consider installing a security application
Many mobile apps are available to enhance the security of mobile devices. These security-related apps are often available for free or at a low price and can provide the capability to remotely lock, locate, or wipe your device.

3. Back up your data
You probably keep valuable information on your smartphone, including photos, videos, and contacts, so backing up your data in case your smartphone is lost, damaged, or stolen is a good practice.

4. Set a SIM PIN
Many devices support the use of a personal identification number (PIN) to lock your SIM card. Setting the SIM PIN may help to prevent people from accessing your cellular voice or mobile data services without authorization. That will help prevent a thief running up your phone bill after he or she has stolen it. This was the biggest problem I faced when he started calling and sending my friends and family random text messages which were vulgar and rude.
What to do if your device is lost or stolen
  • Report the loss to your mobile network as soon as possible: If your device is lost or stolen, immediately notify your provider so that they can suspend service to your device.
  • Remotely locate, lock, or wipe your device using a security app: If you have installed a security app you may be able to use it to remotely locate, lock, or wipe your device.
  • Report phone theft to the police - If your phone has been stolen, you must report the theft of your device to your local police department. This is a legal requirement of the Regulation of Interception of Communication and Provision of Communication-Related Information Act 2002, better known as RICA. You will probably also need a police case number if you planning to claim from insurance.
Take precautions to keep the mobile away from the display while driving on the highway or in town at robots. It's important as we don't remember anything these days as we have a habit to keep the device as our personal assistant with calendar, meetings, apps, mobile numbers and important goals. Also, always look behind on the seats you were sitting before leaving any location whether it's office, movie theater, restaurants or any other place you visit for the first time to keep a tab on your phone.

Cheers!!!

Spring Clean your #Android Smartphone #HTCOneLifeSA

Hi Guys,

While you’re doing your spring cleaning, why not take the time to clear out the clutter on your Android smartphone? Getting rid of the apps you don’t use, the songs you no longer love, and all old messages, videos and emails can clear up some storage space for new content. We keep on accumulating stuff inside our mobile devices - knowingly and unknowingly sometimes. I generally clear up my phone from time to time as it gives a faster performance if you keep apps you don't use to the minimal.

Start out by checking how much total storage you have and determine how much is still available under your phone’s settings. If you’re running short of space, HTC recommends that you take these easy steps to clear up room for new apps and media on your device:

1. Save photos to online storage
Photos, videos and docs on the phone take up a lot of storage space. To reduce the impact on your storage space, you can set your phone to automatically upload photos to an online service such as Google Drive, which you can download from Google Play, if you don’t have it already and own an HTC smartphone, then Google Drive will give you 15GB free storage for 2 years. Otherwise, keep storing them on your laptop from time to time to create space in your smartphone.

2. Remove unused apps
If you have apps installed on your phone that you rarely use, uninstalling them will free up some space. Clearing out the app cache on your phone is also a great way of freeing up some space. Also, HTC gives you access to disable apps which won't be taking running space on your device but will stay in your settings>apps to enable again if anytime you want to use them again.
3. Export files and data to a computer
If you have work-related documents or other confidential files on your phone, you can easily move them to your computer. Using your USB cable, plug your phone into your computer, your phone will be recognised as a removable drive, allowing you to access the file storage and from here you can find and copy the files. Once done, you can delete the original files from your phone or simply cut and paste to save the effort.

4. Clear out your downloads folder
Your Downloads folder can get clogged with images, with PDFs and other files. Check through the Downloaded folder on your phone and delete these files from there. Alternatively, you can connect your phone to your computer and delete files from there after taking a data dump so that you don't need to download the same again if required in future.

5. Use High-Speed Memory Card
Add a micro-SD card to your device to increase storage space and transfer your files onto the SD card once installed. This will not only boost your phone’s storage, but the speed too, with a smartphone such as the HTC One M9 supporting additional memory cards up to 128GB. Don't use a slow SD card (series 4) as it will easily be corrupted and will really slow your smartphone, better invest in series 10 cards.

Cheers!!!

Product Review - HTC One #M8 #HTCTheOne

Hi Guys,

HTC launched another device called HTC ONE M8 in April 2014 after the first HTC One M7 was launched a year earlier in 2013. I love HTC phones because of their great quality and awesome after sales support. I never expected that they will give me a brand new phone after there was some problem in my battery and phone. I got to review the HTC M8 some days back and I was totally amazed by the upgrades it offered on my earlier version of the device. This blogpost is written after the unit is back in the office of HTC's PR agency. I thank them for organizing a HTC ONE M8 for me and it came in a mint condition & it felt great to unbox the device myself. Check out the post on HTC ONE M7 which I did earlier and now I am comparing the phone with this latest version from HTC.

HTC ONE M8 package contains the HTC One mobile, charger, usb cable, noise isolation HTC earphones and a HTC silicon cover for mobile and a pin to open SIM tray and micro-SD card tray. Also the M8 device takes nano-SIM as compared to M7 which uses micro-SIM card to connect to the telecom providers. The device is around 160 grams of sleek metallic design from it's predecessor with great effects on the aluminum back.

HTC One M8 has 5inch Full HD 1080p display (441ppi) which can bring all the colors and graphics to life. The device has enough processing power to take care of everything you throw at the device. It is made possible by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core CPUs and 2GB RAM. The phone comes in various inbuilt memory capacity of 16GB and 32GB. You can increase the storage capacity of the phone by using an micro-SD card upto 128GBs. The battery capacity is 2600mAh which can easily last a day on moderate consumption of data and calls. It lasted me around 13-14 hours on continuous usage of 3G data and calls.

HTC One M8 has some unique changes to the predecessor M7 in terms of camera, style, size and panel buttons. The polycarbonate sides on M7 are now covered with metal finish which makes it unibody design and the phone looks highly expensive and great in your hands. There are no buttons on the bottom of the phone as in M7 as all those three capacitive buttons are moved to the on-screen software buttons. So if you upgrading to M8 from M7, it will be annoying in the start as you will take some time to adapt to the same. But it also solves the bigger problem of touching the back button and going out of the apps or games you are using at that moment. In M7, that was one of the problems critics said a lot about. HTC improved the same in this new version of the smartphone.

The screen size has been increase marginally to 5 inches making it more attractive to customers wanting big screens but not going into the phablet range. The display is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 3 with scratch resistance coating. I have never used any protective film on my M7 and there is no line or scratch on the same till now. M8 has improved protection so I hope there will be no scratch on the same too in the longer run of the phone. Motion Launch also helped phone to be opened using double tap on screen as well as turning the phone horizontally & by pressing the volume key opens us camera app.

BeatsAudio in M7 was replaced by BOOMSOUND stereo speakers in M8 with improved sound quality by more than a margin for audio enthusiasts. Literally, HTC One M8 has the highest volume levels while playing any audio or video among all it's competitors. Harmon Kardon edition of the phone was also launched in USA which offered HK earphones and HK software etc. The audio quality was superb when I used my BOSE inearphones with Boomsound switched on. It was much better than the M7 which I am using at the moment. The HTC earphones that comes packaged with M8 are very much similar to M7 so there is not much improvement in the same.

Finally the dual camera on the phone was a welcome move and brought a lot of features to HTC One M8 for the photography enthusiasts. The device has dual tone flash now along with main camera as Ultrapixel camera with 2.0 µm in size. The second camera captures the depth details of the photograph clicked and then you can make changes to the same using UFOCUS to bring depth of field effects that DSLR can bring to the images. Also, it can take some 3D images which is really cool to capture some extra detail which gives some great effects on the M8 screen. There are many more modes and filters that can be applied to your photographs in the new HTC One M8.

The phone can be upgraded to the latest Lollipop android OS making it a great performance smartphone in all departments be it calls, games, graphics, camera, sound or battery life. I would love to buy this phone as the new version M9 has also been launched by HTC on much cheaper prices but for those who wants to enjoy great android experience for the first time, it's a great phone to start with. Even someone who wants to learn more techniques of photography and wants to become country's number ONE instagrammer can use this phone to click and edit some great captures using this phone. HTC products are great in quality and pays the money you spent to buy them in the longer run. I would love to have this phone as a secondary camera for my trips to launch events/product reviews etc to take some amazingly great photographs.

Cheers!!!

Product Review - HTC One #M7 #HTCOne

Hi Guys,

My Nexus One died on me as it's power button got broken way back in 2013 and I never wanted to get it corrected as my experience with repair was really bad as I lost my Motorola Rokr to repair before just using it for paper weight. My family said that go and check whichever phone you want in the market for your birthday and then never say again that you wanted that phone and we didn't  allowed you to buy the same.

I went to check phones at MGF Metropolitan Mall, M.G. Road and came across the phones from Samsung, Nokia, LG and many other OEMs. I saw the various phones and narrowed down my choice to Sasmung S4, Galaxy Note 2, Nokia 1020 and HTC One. I read the reviews from all the tech blogs and really fall in love with Galaxy S4's awesome features, Note2's S-Pen, 1020's 41megapixel camera and HTC One's sleek design and ultrapixel camera.

I went back to store and again checked the phones and tested them for video and songs output on my Bose earphones. The moment I switched on Beats Audio on HTC One, the sound quality took my heart away. I immediately decided to buy HTC One because at that time, I was using mobile to listen to songs and watching serials and movies most of the time along with twitter and facebook. The audio output on Note2 and S4 was also nice but HTC One has great advantage due to it's Beats Audio software built into it and also of it's BoomSound front speakers which throws sound directly towards your face and ears.

I waited again till my birthday for decrease in prices but one fine day flipkart launched a scheme in collaboration with Citibank credit cards for 6 months interest free EMI along with 10% cashback offer. I immediately bought one 32gb version for myself and the phone came with free 8gb Sandisk card and Eveready Portable Mobile Charger. The device package contains the mobile device, one usb cable, charger and HTC branded red noise-isolation earphones with mic.

HTC One #M7 has 4.7 inch full HD 468ppi display which shows brilliant colors and video's. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad core processor has clock set at 1.7GHz to take care of all your apps and games along with 2GB of RAM capacity. The phone has inbuilt 2300mAh battery which can last 9-11 hours based on my high usage of 3G always on and several apps running in parallel. The device looks really awesome and weighs only 143g, moreover aluminium back catches attention of everyone. The device takes micro-SIM into it's slot on one side of the phone. The other side has volume rocker buttons only. The top side contains the power on-off button which also serves as Infra-Red remote along with 3.5mm jack for earphones. The bottom side has mini-USB charger along with a microphone for the mobile calls. The HTC earphones are good  for their sound quality but you can use your Sennheiser or Bose for better sound quality.

The HTC UltraPixel camera was a breakthrough design with Pixel size 2.0 µm, Sensor size 1/3' and F2.0 aperture and 28 mm lens. The front camera has 2.1 MP camera with 88degree wide angles lens to capture your selfies. The rear camera can take great low light photographs and captures awesome day light photographs. HTC Zoe was also launched which can do Sequence Shot, Always Smile and Object Removals. Zoe was awesome feature as it used to take 20 quick photographs and made them into a video of around 3 seconds. The video captured by the camera is in .mp4 format and slow motion with variable speed playback was a new introduction to this smartphone. HTC Blinkfeed with give you all the latest social media news from your networks along with your subscribed news channels etc on the first page of the phone.

Overall, I fell in love with the speed of the phone for my twitter and social apps usage along with high quality video output. I felt that the ultra-pixels images captured by the camera sometimes contains noise when zoomed out and increasing the megapixels could improve the same. The Beats audio and BoomSound remained the love of my life till now on this device. Last year, there was some problems with the battery on my HTC One and they replaced the whole phone within 2 days of my complaint which was awesome service quality from the brand.

The phone has the processing power to play most of the high quality graphics games without any lags but phone does gets warm and battery drains very quickly too. HTC Sense always has some great features to use on HTC devices and the phone is now working on the latest Lollipop android OS. Lollipop OS offers some new features on HTC One M7 like floating notifications along with some added new camera capabilities like Camera booth, Split Capture along with earlier features to take selfie, Zoe, video etc. My phone is behaving extremely slow after this first update and I am waiting for the second update to stable the device. I will ask you to wait for the improvement package and continue on the earlier OS on this device.

HTC announced new phone and M7 was upgraded to HTC One M8 (#HTCTheOne) and the latest one is HTC One M9 (#HTCOneLife) in the same series of smartphones. Review for these devices will also be done soon on my blog.

Cheers!!!
