The Acer Aspire R 15 was awarded the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2016 for its excellent blend of design and usability. The metal top cover features a hairline-brushed finish, and the bottom cover is made of 40% glass fiber and silver particles, which improves rigidity while maintaining a thin profile. Diamond-cut edges complement the 360-degree versatility of the Aspire R 15, which can lay perfectly flat at 180-degrees, and with Acer’s patented soft-closing hinge design, converting between laptop, tablet, display and tent modes have never been so elegant.

The Aspire R 15 features 6th Generation Intel® Core™ processors, up to 12GB DDR4 memory with faster speed and lower power consumption, up to NVIDIA® GeForce® 940MX graphics and a reversible USB 3.1 Type-C port. Users also benefit from rapid connectivity with 2x2 MU-MIMO wireless and extended battery life of up to 9 hours[1].

It delivers innovative Windows 10 features, including Cortana with Voice & Skype for Business Certification, making it more personal and secure. The Aspire R 15 also has Continuum capabilities, enabling any screen to have the power and ability to work like a PC.

The Aspire R 15 boasts striking visual effects with its IPS display and new Acer Color Intelligence technology. Audio-wise, Acer TrueHarmony and Dolby® Audio™ provide a truly immersive experience, while automatically reversing audio channels according to the orientation and mode of the device.

Everyday Computing in Style with the Aspire F 15 and Aspire E Series

Acer has introduced premium-finish metal covers to its mainstream notebook line with its new Aspire F Series. Available in five colors (Sparkly Silver, Obsidian Black, Indigo Blue, Wine Red, and Marble White), the Aspire F Series is a perfect blend of style and performance for everyday use.

The 2016 Acer Aspire E Series is refreshed with seven color options, available in Marble White, Steel Grey, Twilight Purple, Red Copper, Obsidian Black, Rococo Red and Indigo Blue, each model features a metallic horizontal hairline-brush design with a premium textile pattern.

Equipped with 6th Generation Intel Core processors, up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX950M graphics with GDDR5 VRAM, and DDR4 RAM, the Aspire F and Aspire E series provide ample power for everyday use. Wired connectivity includes a USB Type-C port in addition to other essentials, while 802.11ac MU-MIMO technology provides blazing fast wireless connectivity.

Both the Aspire F and Aspire E Series are powered by Windows 10 and feature Acer ExaColor technology, with meticulously, step-by-step tuned displays bringing out colorful and vivid details, while Acer BluelightShield technology allows people to adjust the screen’s blue-light emission for extended periods of use. @AcerAfrica ASPIRE S13 #Notebook Fusion of #Performance, #Build and #Value

Hi Guys,

Acer announced the latest addition to its ultra-slim S series notebooks, the Aspire S 13, a perfectly engineered thin and powerful Windows 10 notebook for design-conscious users. The angular, sleek chassis houses the best-valued laptops on the market today, packed with features for work and play.

“Demonstrating the equilibrium between form and function, the Aspire S 13’s powerful components come together to strike a perfect balance in size, weight and performance,” said James Lin, General Manager, Consumer Notebooks, IT Products Business, Acer Inc. “Currently there is no other branded device on the market that can offer such design excellence at this desirable price.”

“The Windows device ecosystem offers something for everyone, with device options to fit customers’ needs,” said Nick Parker, Corporate Vice President, OEM Division, Microsoft Corp. “The ultra-slim Aspire S 13 brings Windows 10 to life with the best security, productivity and manageability only Windows 10 can deliver.”

Aspire to Do More

Running Windows 10 with the option of a 10-point touch display, the Aspire S 13 is powered by 6th Generation Intel® Core™ processors and up to 8 GB of LPDDR3 system memory, not only enabling faster performance and enhanced graphics, but also lower power consumption. The optional 54 Wh 3-cell Li-ion battery lasts up to 13 hours, enabling users to get the most out of their machine every day.

Wired connectivity comes in the form of a USB 3.1 Type-C reversible port which supports ultra-fast transfer of data (up to 5Gbps) and also a USB 3.0 port which supports power-off charging for mobile devices, even when the Aspire S 13 is switched off. Wirelessly, the laptop enables users to utilize 802.11ac to its maximum effect with 2x2 MU-MIMO (Multi-User MIMO) for up to three times faster[2] performance over single-user MIMO 802.11ac.

Meanwhile, the Precision Touchpad enables an accurate, smooth and responsive navigation experience, and supports Windows 10 Precision Touchpad gestures.

Aspire to Enjoy More

The Aspire S 13 offers the best of both worlds when it comes to work and entertainment capabilities. The Full HD touchscreen[3] display with wide-viewing angle IPS technology brings immersive experiences for both movies and presentations, while Acer BluelightShield can be enabled to reduce the blue-light emission from the LED backlit module. In low light, the two-stage adjustable backlit keyboard provides more options to suit the circumstances: first stage turns on the backlit keyboard, the second stage turns on the lighting to full luminance.

Acer TrueHarmony and Dolby® Audio™ lets this light-in-weight unit really punch above its category when it comes to audio performance with cinematic surround sound. The newest software user interface also enhances the consumer experience with a custom profile and intelligent audio and visual features.

Skype for Business Certification ensures people can communicate with crisp and lag-free quality, and also allows for clearer, higher quality audio and a great Cortana experience with Windows 10.

Aspire to Astonish

For those who deeply care about the appearance of their personal technology, the Aspire S 13 is ultra-thin and lightweight, measuring 327W x 228D x 14.58H mm (0.57 inches) and weighing 1.30 kg (2.86 pounds). Available in Obsidian Black or Pearl White, the unit is housed in an immaculate chassis featuring a sleek chamfer diamond-cut on the edges and the touchpad, with Acer nano-imprint patterning on the top cover and a blend of premium finishes. The glossy hinge and matte cover offer contrasting visual impressions, while the juxtaposition of soft-touch and hard materials provides distinct tactile experiences and gives the Aspire S 13 a dynamic look that separates it from the crowd.

[2] To achieve the best performance, both the transmitter and receiver must support MU-MIMO. The product is based on an IEEE 802.11ac draft specification and multi user scenario. Actual speed will vary based on range, connection rate, site conditions, size of network, and other factors. The claim of up to 3x faster transmission speed is valid only under scenario when wireless AP supports 4 MU streams.

#BeBrilliant With The Latest @HTC One A9 #HTCOneLifeSA

Hi Guys,

HTC unveiled the latest addition to the award-winning HTC One family, the HTC One A9. Melding the best of HTC’s acclaimed design and innovation with the latest from Google’s Android, this is a stunning, no-compromise smartphone that stands out from the crowd. Built for people who want a better choice, the HTC One A9 is a smartphone that combines striking design on the outside with the newest features of Android 6.0 Marshmallow with HTC Sense on the inside to create an unrivaled smartphone experience.

“HTC is a smartphone pioneer, having delivered the first Android smartphone, the first Windows smartphone, the first 4G smartphone, and the first all-metal smartphone,” said Cher Wang, chairwoman and CEO, HTC. “Today we’re taking that heritage of innovation to the next level, unveiling a phone that stands apart in a market increasingly dominated by a company which controls every aspect of your phone. The HTC One A9 breaks from this trend by offering an incredible design, fantastic performance, cutting-edge software features and the freedom to take full control of your smartphone experience.”

Metalmorphics: A new standard of all-metal design excellence

An evolution of the iconic HTC One family design, the HTC One A9 draws on the natural beauty around us, by using rich, striking colors and unique finishes – an approach called “metalmorphics.” New curves, refined edges, and precision-cut ridges on the power button flawlessly combine with the super-thin metal frame giving the phone a natural and lightweight feel. The elegant dual finish, available in a Carbon Gray, Opal Silver, Topaz Gold and Deep Garnet, is painstakingly brushed with hairline detail and bead-blasted before the sides are polished, giving additional depth and richness that is unique to the smartphone market. Finally, in a stunning fusion of metal and glass, a 5-inch, edge-to-edge, 2.5D Corning® Gorilla® Glass 4, Full HD AMOLED screen cascades into the metal frame, giving you brighter and more vivid colors for brilliant graphics and gaming, even in direct sunlight.

Unleash your inner photographer

Your best camera is the one you use whenever the moment strikes, so it should be able to capture stunning shots in any situation. The HTC One A9’s front and rear cameras, coupled with powerful yet simple editing tools, mean epic photos and videos are only a tap away. Its main 13MP rear camera features Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), which automatically minimises hand shake and corrects vibrations to give you a crystal-clear picture every time. Meanwhile, the front UltraPixel camera delivers the best self-portraits in any lighting condition, using HTC’s UltraPixel sensor to capture 300% more light than conventional smartphone cameras.

With the HTC One A9, no detail is too small. Offering an optional Pro mode to capture the perfect photo without being a photography expert, you can also save photos using RAW capture – a tool used by professional photographers – for an unmatched level of detail and post-shot editing flexibility. Or you can keep things simple with Photo Editor’s one-button enhancement feature, which automatically brightens colors and sharpens edges for unbelievably clear and crisp photos.

Sometimes a still photo just isn’t enough. With the HTC One A9’s Hyperlapse editing tool you can speed up your videos to 12 times as fast for a dramatic time-lapse effect, creating an immersive video that perfectly captures the moments that matter. Speed through your video or use capture mode to edit in slow motion, highlighting those unforgettable memories. Or use HTC Zoe to easily and automatically mix your best shots and videos into one professional-looking highlight reel that can be shared with friends and family to tell the story of any moment from every angle.

Awesome audio: music the way it’s supposed to sound

Game changing audio has always been core to the HTC One family - the HTC One A9 delivers amazing sound quality, with HTC BoomSound™ integrated into the headset combined with Dolby Audio™ surround technology, delivering immersive, vibrant sound that matches a live experience in your headphones by taking high-resolution audio to the next level. With a built-in DAC that delivers audio at 24-bit, 192KHz quality – better than CD quality – it provides a richness and depth like you’ve never before heard from your music collection. A powerful high-output headphone amplifier, with double the output of other handsets, provides more power and dynamic range so you can hear every nuance of your favorite music, videos and games. Optional high-resolution audio certified HTC Pro Studio Earphones deliver both noise isolation and truly immersive sound.

Cutting-edge software: Android 6.0 Marshmallow

The first non-Nexus smartphone powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the HTC One A9 brings Google’s latest innovations and the simplicity of HTC Sense right out of the box. Combined with a multi-directional fingerprint scanner, Android Pay makes purchasing items as secure and as easy as “tap, pay, done.” Google’s Now on Tap feature also intuitively provides contextual information about whatever is on your screen – look up reviews for a movie from a text, hear a song mentioned in a blog post, or book seats at a restaurant from an email, all at the press of the home button.

With so many new features, the HTC One A9 has also been designed with all new power-saving capabilities to maximize battery life. Doze automatically turns off power hungry applications when your phone is left idle, such as when charging overnight, while App Standby knows when an app open in the background isn’t being used and shuts it down until you need it again. In addition, the phone’s new processor, AMOLED screen and support for the optional HTC Rapid Charger 2.0, for up to 75% faster charging are all optimized to maximize battery life throughout the day7. In real terms this means, for example, that you can play 12 hours of HD video on one charge.

Performance designed for the way YOU use your phone

Featuring the newest Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 617 processor with integrated X8 LTE and 64-bit octa-core CPUs, the HTC One A9 is designed to deliver a perfect balance of powerful performance, fast connectivity and better battery life. With support for epic LTE wireless speeds through next-generation carrier aggregation technology, it delivers more high-definition streaming videos, more pulse-pounding high-resolution audio and more storage in the cloud to hold everything your heart desires. The phone is available in both 16 and 32GB configurations and features expandable memory, supporting up to 2TB in SD card storage, perfect for storing all your apps, games, photos, music and videos.

To protect your smartphone, pair it with the HTC Dot View™ II case, available in Obsidian, Deep Garnet, Sea Coral and Turquoise Blue. Its retro-inspired dot matrix cover reveals instant notifications, weather updates, caller ID and more, even while closed, and simple gesture controls bring music, flashlight, radio and voice recording tools closer than ever. I am looking forward to see this phone in South Africa asap!

Cheers!!!
