Planning Our #RoadTrip to the #GardenRoute With Parents @Travelstart #PE #CapeTown #Johannesburg

Hi Friends,

It was my parent’s third trip to South Africa and this time we wanted to show them Cape Town for sure but as we started planning for the same, an idea came to travel the Garden Route as we also have not seen the same since we are here in this country from the last 5 years. Earlier, I wanted to buy Honda BRV to take on this trip and during that time the car was going around 20k ZAR on sale too. I was adamant to take my own car on the Garden Route trip. After getting approvals of leaves from office, we started planning the distance and cities to stay during the trip and found that it will be difficult if we start traveling in the car from Johannesburg to Port Elizabeth and then back from Cape Town to Johannesburg.
Planning Our #RoadTrip to the #GardenRoute With Parents @Travelstart #PE #CapeTown #Johannesburg
Also, my parents were against the car travel as my father suffers from vomiting in the closed space of the car and also we will need to take some breaks to cover 1200km and it will at least take 12 hours to reach Port Elizabeth in best case scenario within road speed limits. My wife told that it’s better we check an early morning flight from Johannesburg to Port Elizabeth and then a late evening flight back from Cape Town to Johannesburg. I have never booked a domestic flight within South Africa so asked some enlightened people who travel a lot. They all said book from Lanseria Airport, flights are cheaper there, book on this website and that website, on this day or that day but here I was totally confused during the weekend finding it difficult to book flights and accommodations as per our confined dates of the trip.
Planning Our #RoadTrip to the #GardenRoute With Parents @Travelstart #PE #CapeTown #Johannesburg
Travelstart came to my rescue early morning when I came across some random post on Facebook and thought of using the same when we all sat for final bookings of places to stay and flights. My first thing was to book flights because if we don’t get flights we won’t get go ahead. My wife’s first preference was good accommodation for the extended family with kitchen specifically as we had a 1-year-old baby with us too along with my vegetarian parents. So my mom and she started looking at accommodations and she started booking them closest to the locations we intended to stay and paying them using her card and email id. I and dad were busy with flights and passport numbers to be entered and age details with right times to start from OR Tambo or Lanseria Airport and finally decided to go with Travelstart website to make our final bookings. My overall experience of using the website was awesome and I am really looking forward to using some great travel trips with them from their packages section.
Planning Our #RoadTrip to the #GardenRoute With Parents @Travelstart #PE #CapeTown #Johannesburg
The overall final itinerary looked like
Flight to PE from Johannesburg: At 6:50am in the morning (2hrs)
Early Check-in at PE and Overnight Stay in PE
2nd Day - Travel to Plettenberg Bay and stay for 3 nights
5th Day - Travel to Pearly Beach and stay overnight
6th Day - Travel to Cape Town and stay for 3 nights
9th Day - Evening flight to Johannesburg (2hr 30min) and reach home by 11pm

It was a total of 1650km for 9 days rented car with all the most visited places seen and captured in memories and images with no traffic fines and no tension to the driver and relaxed Garden Route for everyone in the family!

Cheers!!!

@Cadbury_SA Dairy Milk Sparks Selfless Giving Through ‘#TheLittleGenerosityShop’ #GlassAndAHalf

Hi Friends,

Cadbury Dairy Milk is tapping into South Africa’s boundless generosity to shed light on the plight of South Africa’s 3.7 million orphaned children. ‘The Little Generosity Shop’ will give the country the chance to make a difference in the lives of as many children as possible by collecting toys, books, and games – in exchange for a Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate.

The campaign started with the image of thousands of paper planes floating down the hollow center of the iconic Ponte building, highlighting the fact that 3.7 million orphans have very little opportunity to experience even the smallest of delights – a toy of their own, to play with.
@Cadbury_SA Dairy Milk Sparks Selfless Giving Through ‘#TheLittleGenerosityShop’ #GlassAndAHalf
In a bid to help change that, Cadbury Dairy Milk is bringing ‘The Little Generosity Shop’ to Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town to collect as many toys, games, and books as possible, for them. A mobile ‘Little Generosity Shop’ will also be roaming the country to inspire the spirit of generosity.

While true generosity doesn’t ask for any reward, Cadbury Dairy Milk will be thanking South Africa for showing that “there’s a glass and a half” in everyone by handing over a Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate, in exchange for donations at ‘The Little Generosity Shop’.
@Cadbury_SA Dairy Milk Sparks Selfless Giving Through ‘#TheLittleGenerosityShop’ #GlassAndAHalf
Steps to donate your loved toys
When visiting ‘The Little Generosity Shop’, consumers have the opportunity to write a personalized message to a child they will be donating their toy to. In addition, visitors will be able to learn about the history of Cadbury Dairy Milk and pick up tips on how to spread their generosity even further with ‘Cadbury Chronicles’. The interactive wall will show how the journey of a single donated toy inspires untold happiness and will track the number of toys collected as part of the campaign.

Cadbury Dairy Milk is bringing ‘The Little Generosity Shop’ to:
  • Johannesburg: Sandton City, Checkers Court (29 May – 17 June)
  • Durban: Gateway Theatre of Shopping, Centre Court (25 June – 8 July)
  • Cape Town: Canal Walk Shopping Centre, Centre Court (19 July – 5 August)
The mobile ‘Little Generosity Shop’ will also be visiting:
  • Bloemfontein: Loch Logan (7, 8 & 9 June)
  • Port Elizabeth: Baywest Mall (15 & 16 June)
  • Pretoria: Irene Village Mall (28, 29 & 30 June)
  • Nelspruit: Riverside Mall (12, 13 & 14 July)
“Through ‘The Little Generosity Shop’, South Africans will have a platform to share the spirit of generosity,” says Lara Sidersky, Mondelez SA Category Lead for Chocolate. “And so, we are urging all South Africans to get together and get behind this wonderful initiative. Together we can all be more generous. Not just by giving a toy to a child in need, but every day, with each other.”

A new version of the movie named King of the Monsters is going to be released on 31st May so don't forget to book your big screen tickets in a cinema near you! I am sure you will forget Daenerys dragons (Game of Thrones) after seeing the trailers of this movie.

GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS In #Cinemas 31 May #GodzillaMovie @warnerbros_sa #Movies #Contest
Pillars of the Movie Series
  • Epic, a global disaster movie that expands beyond a pure monster genre, four epic monsters make this one that MUST be seen on the big screen.
  • Godzilla is both the ultimate danger to humanity and its only salvation – a complex hero that evokes a sense of empathy. The last of his kind, he is putting his life on the line for the good of the world. Instinctively fighting to preserve the natural order, Godzilla is unwittingly making the ultimate sacrifice – and taking on a battle he might not win.
  • Madison is an empowered, formidable teenage heroine taking charge to save the day. On a parallel path with Godzilla to save the world, she forms an unusual partnership with him, opening herself up to great danger, and adding a tangible sense of humanity, risk, and drama.
  • At the forefront are the film’s human stakes and emotional connections against a backdrop of an epic action spectacle. The film is anchored in a story about a relatable family torn apart by tragedy – and reunited through the selfless courage of one.
  • 65th year anniversary of Godzilla. It has a massive legacy appeal and cultural importance. This is a classic icon reimagined for our time.
  • The appeal of a top-name (international) talent. With Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sally Hawkins, Bradley Whitford, and Ken Watanabe – our talent bench is deep.
  • A balance of authenticity and modernity – celebrating the most popular monsters in pop culture history reinvented for the big screen in epic, VFX glory. These monsters are evolved and powerful; resonant for modern audiences yet true to their origins.
  • King Ghidorah is the ultimate villain, a legendary, apex predator. He is the “Bane” to Godzilla’s “Dark Knight” – the fiercest titan of them all, the one who might just do the inconceivable – defeat Godzilla.
  • Monarch has evolved from the secretive organization seen in 2014’s Godzilla to become a public-facing, high-tech hero force. By declassifying evidence files and opening up their titan tracking tools, Monarch invites fans to “join the fight.”

@3M Sets Out to Heighten Awareness of #VisualHacking #PrivacyFilters #SouthAfrica

Hi Friends,

As corporate South Africa gets to grips with the implications of the Protection of Personal Information Act (PoPIA), 3M has embarked on a campaign to raise awareness about the threat posed by visual hacking. It will be launching Visual Hacking Awareness Week from 21 May – 29 May to highlight this little-known but escalating threat.

“PoPIA, like the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), makes it obligatory for those holding personal information to protect it adequately and provides for punitive fines to be imposed on those who do not do so. However, because data breaches and hacking make the headlines, many companies tend to assume that the threat is confined to the digital world,” says Peter Barker, Market Manager, IT Market at 3M Display Materials & Systems Division, 3M. “The truth is that sensitive information can be illegally obtained in other ways too, and one of the most common is visual hacking.”
@3M Sets Out to Heighten Awareness of #VisualHacking #PrivacyFilters #SouthAfrica
Visual hacking, also known as shoulder surfing, occurs when an individual obtains information from the screen of a device being used by somebody else. It may occur in public spaces and equally in offices. Visual hacking could also include accessing information stored on paper, perhaps by using a smartphone to photograph it.

The Ponemon Institute undertook a Global Visual Hacking Experiment in 2015-6 (sponsored by 3M) to highlight the risk of visual hacking in office environments. The results were alarming, showing that 91 percent of global visual hacking attempts were successful, with 27 percent of the hacked data categorized as sensitive, including login credentials, confidential or classified documents, and financial information. Fifty-two percent of sensitive information was visually hacked from employee computer screens.
@3M Sets Out to Heighten Awareness of #VisualHacking #PrivacyFilters #SouthAfrica
“Visual hacking can happen very quickly and can provide criminals with information that will allow them to enter the corporate systems at a later date. In addition, seemingly innocuous information can be used to craft successful phishing or extortion strategies. In other words, the company is at risk from low-tech as well as high-tech predators,” Name says.

Changing work patterns are increasing the chances of falling victim to visual hacking. Open-plan offices make it easy for co-workers or visitors to obtain information from employees’ screens. In addition, more and more employees are undertaking work in non-office environments such as coffee shops, hotel lobbies, airplanes and so on. In all these cases, they are vulnerable to visual hacking.
@3M Sets Out to Heighten Awareness of #VisualHacking #PrivacyFilters #SouthAfrica
A further factor is a growing attention being paid to securing corporate systems in response to a flood of high-profile hacks and ransomware attacks. This has had the unintended consequence of making low-tech attack methods, like visual hacking, more attractive to cybercriminal syndicates.

The key to reducing the risk of visual hacking, Barker says, is the development of comprehensive company policy and set of protocols relating to the issue, backed up by education. The policies should cover not only the office but also the use of company data in all locations. The Ponemon Institute research found that companies with strong visual-hacking policies experienced 26 percent fewer privacy breaches.

A clean-desk policy, document-shredding processes and an easy way to report suspicious behavior will also help.

“Given that screens account for just over half of all visual hacking, investment in privacy filters on all devices with screens is a worthwhile investment. Most work gets done on screens now, and so protecting them makes sound business sense in a world in which data regulations are becoming more stringent,” he concludes. “This is one threat that can be countered by a judicious combination of technologically advanced screen privacy filters and good policies.”
@3M Sets Out to Heighten Awareness of #VisualHacking #PrivacyFilters #SouthAfrica
3M will inaugurate Visual Hacking Week with a media event at which it will present the results of its Global Visual Hacking Experiment, contextualized for the South African environment and PoPIA.

@MarkexSA 2019: A Small Taste of What’ll be On Show #PromoWorks #Markex2019

Hi Friends,

Exhibitors participating in this year’s Markex, Africa’s premier promotional products exhibition, have shared some detail on their plans for the 2019 edition of the show. Co-located with Madex 2019 (TheOGMarketingExpo) Markex 2019, which is a by-invitation-only event, takes place at Sandton Convention Centre on 5 and 6 June 2019.

We kick off with one of the industry greats as Barron, arguably the largest and most trusted product media brand in Africa and one that has been switching Africa's brands ON for 29 years, will be inviting visitors to join in the conversation at an educational forum it will be hosting on 5 June. The forum will be paired with Markex and allows delegates to attend both events.
@MarkexSA 2019: A Small Taste of What’ll be On Show #PromoWorks #Markex2019
Jam-packed with key industry spokespeople, this educational forum promises to keep visitors up to date with the latest developments and trends within the promotional product industry. Barron’s afternoon event will focus on relevant issues of leadership, marketing, and business development, and will offer delegates the opportunity to network with like-minded peers.

Trade Only Gifts, a company known for importing the latest items in corporate gifting, will be at Markex this year to show off a broad range of the trendiest options available today. The list of products on show is expansive but visitors might be interested in seeing the company’s eco-friendly stainless steel straw options in person. They’ll also be able to check out its auto pop-up card holders that incorporate RFID blocking protection, which stops criminals from scanning your credit cards remotely, as well as cell phone and computer USB fans, wireless earphones, and wicker picnic basket solutions.

Laycol (I.E.M Corporate Gifts cc – t/a Laycol) partners will be keen to check out the company post its merge with Bottles Direct. Because of this industry move, Laycol is now able to offer clients a far wider range of product based on general blow molding of sports bottles to injection blow. Also on the show this year will be a large range of caps to suit all needs, ranging from flip sip to straws.

If you operate in the promotional items industry, you’ll have heard of CAPTIVITY Headwear + Apparel. Established in Cape Town in 1997, CAPTIVITY has spent the last two decades bring quality headwear at competitive prices with an emphasis on exceptional customer service – introducing apparel items to the range in 2012.

Markex 2019 will be especially interesting to both existing and potential customers as the company will be using this as a platform to cement its new brand - FWRD Headwear and Apparel and they are ready to show off! Visitors are urged to stop by the stand for more information and to see the new ranges.
@MarkexSA 2019: A Small Taste of What’ll be On Show #PromoWorks #Markex2019
Another trade-only industry favorite, KMQ will be exhibiting at Markex this year and will be showcasing the latest in promotional items and branding solutions. KMQ offers a one-stop-shop with in house branding and financing options and can take care of all promotional requirements from supply and brand right through to delivery.

Mass Supply Clothing is excited to welcome visitors to its trade-only stand this year! The company will be showcasing samples from its quality brands and ranges, and sweet treats and discounted vouchers will be handed to all scanned visitors. These vouchers will include a 7.5 percent discount on one order placed during the month of June 2019 (as with all things in life, terms and conditions apply).

Visitors looking to grow their registration base are invited to sign up on the stand, enjoying a waived registration fee.

For visitors who haven’t introduced themselves to the Atomic Branding range of apparel and branding options, Markex would be a good place to do so. Atomic Branding is a fully automated factory operation that offers a huge variety of designs, printing techniques, automated packaging, and delivery. The company owns the most advanced six to 10 color machines, ensuring flexibility, speed, and accuracy. Visitors are invited to have a look at the apparel on the stand from its t-shirt manufacturing plant in Asia, which also empowers the company in accommodating orders ranging from one to a million plus.
@MarkexSA 2019: A Small Taste of What’ll be On Show #PromoWorks #Markex2019
Visitors seeking to automate their processes a little should check into the Warp Development stand. The company is known for its Order Easy system, which offers hassle-free order automation for business by managing and streamlining the entire order process from inquiry to delivery. Users can track everything on their own dashboard while managing customers, suppliers, and products.

Releasing at Markex this year is the company’s latest version of this solution, and visitors will see how the solution integrates with suitable technologies to deliver an effective and scalable solution to its clients. New features in Order Easy include:
  • A dynamic workflow manager to control your order flow, manage clients, suppliers and payments;
  • Extensive role and user management tools;
  • A production manager to handle your production life cycle; and
  • Staff, business and commission reporting management tools.
Finally, PromoAlliance is talking about its service that allows resellers to save on wholesaler registration costs and benefit from immediate discounts and financing, regardless of your annual spend. The company allows resellers to source and supply a number of wholesalers' products with no registration costs, no expiry due to inactivity or yearly spend, immediate discounts from the first order, and financing options.

As with every year, visitors invited to attend Markex 2019 by their suppliers will be given direct access to a broad range of industry solution providers; the objectives are to network, meet, see, feel and touch. Visit the Markex website to request your invitation, and receive an R200 discount on the R300 entrance cost (For Online bookings only).

Cheers!!!

@MadexExpo Visitors In For A Treat At The 2019 #OGMarketingExpo #Madex2019

Hi Friends,

Exhibitors of Madex 2019, #TheOGMarketingExpo, are currently putting the final touches on their stand plans, and great news for visitors is that many are planning to launch new brands and products exclusively at the show. Co-located with Africa’s premier promotional products expo, Markex, Madex 2019 takes place at Sandton Convention Centre on 5 and 6 June 2019.

Here’s a small taste of what to expect at this year’s extravaganza.

First up is Carrol Boyes, which is celebrating 30 years in the design world at Madex this year. Visitors to the stand will be privy to a two-day celebration acknowledging Boyes for her art and dedication to building and sculpting the most gorgeous, top quality collection of bespoke products including glassware, wood, ceramics, and even wine!

iTouch, brand new members of AAXO, will be demonstrating a new hologram fan wall called the 3D HoloSPIN. The HoloSPIN is a 3D holographic LED fan display designed for use as a digital advertising platform. The LED fan display is ideal for high traffic zones such as in retail, POS and exhibition areas where brands and marketers want to capture their audience and stand out from the clutter.

For those on the Plastic-Must-Fall wagon, a stop at the Orakel stand would be most beneficial. The company supplies biodegradable tokens to the festival, park or sporting industries but these are also relevant to those looking for different and environmentally friendly promotional items.

The tokens are completely natural and, if left behind or dropped, will simply biodegrade into the soil. They must be seen to have their vast usage potential fully understood, and visitors who require tokens for catering, festivals, hospitals, events, congresses, schools and the like should make a point of stopping by the Orakel stand.

Did you know that every year, brands and retailers throw away around one billion kilograms of cardboard through the use of traditional displays? That is hardly sustainable and certainly not cost effective. Well, for those seeking an alternative, Marins will be showcasing its Proteus Smart Display solutions. The displays are robust, safe and durable and several major retailers are using them already, including Delhaize, Jumbo and Plus, Procter and Gamble, L’Oréal and Coca Cola. Marins has, with this solution, helped big brands reduce more than 85 percent of cardboard waste while retaining value in the circular economy.
@MadexExpo Visitors In For A Treat At The 2019 #OGMarketingExpo #Madex2019
Get Rocket Book will be showing a most interesting range of re-useable notebook solutions at Madex this year. They might feel like traditional notebooks but are endlessly reusable and connect to all of your favorite cloud services. The notebook ranges provide a classic pen and paper experience but have been built for the digital age.

The Shai Boi team will be debuting at Madex this year, introducing the company to visitors who seek events and project management support, with an intense focus on including creativity, innovation, and professionalism. Shai Boi may be new to the industry, but the company is already proving it deserves a seat at the table having served big name brands like SALGA, WWF, Vodacom, Anglo Gold Ashanti, and the South African Music Awards. Visitors looking to connect with a young, vivacious team are invited to stop by and introduce themselves.

Visitors looking for unique, custom created corporate gifts with an added personal touch, Books Plus is a must-visit at this year’s show. Books Plus has found a way to differentiate itself in the market, offering classic, luxury notebooks that are available to suit a vast range of personality types – from rugby fanatics to art enthusiasts. The company will be highlighting its Women’s Day range along with others at Madex this year.

The Mockana team will be showing off its award-winning tableware range comprising of aluminum bowls, stainless steel cutlery, and accessories. The company specializes in the manufacture and sourcing of corporate gifts that suit specific briefs and will also be showing its unique range of pottery items, designed and handcrafted by local artists. Also on the stand will be Mockana jewelry, pewter products, gift packs and fragrance options (including a customer favorite, the wooden top diffuser).

Scan Display has invited representatives from 12 African countries to Madex 2019 and has designed a two-day program including a workshop bringing focus to what the local market can offer them. The company has extended an open invitation to all Madex visitors to meet the delegates on the Scan Display stand. It will also be showing its popular fabric pop-up system, a portable display system that creates impressive marketing displays and exhibition stands. The systems are lightweight, easy to assemble, versatile and affordable. As an added incentive, Scan Display will be giving instant spot prizes away throughout the show.

JG Electronics returns to Madex this year with a brand new, on-demand full color and white digital printer – the iColor 540! The toner-based digital transfer printer has been designed with apparel, marketing customization and textile transfer markets in mind, and is a must see at this year’s show. The company says it is well placed for use in heat transfer printing with white overprint; right side reading applications with white underprint; regular CMYK prints without white; optional fluorescent printing; and optional dye sublimation transfer printing.

Thermalmate will be at the show this year showing the Thermalmate mug range. Designed to keep hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold, these mugs are a proudly South African product! The mugs are made from high-grade Polypropylene plastic, making them virtually indestructible. They are BPA free and microwave and dishwasher safe and offer a drinking spout and straw hole reducing the risk of spills and bee stings.

In and amongst the gifting industry is a sect of health-conscious folk who want their gifts to keep on giving. For them, we have the Rio Largo team who will be bringing their bespoke, international award-winning extra virgin olive oil to Madex this year! Rio Largo Olive Oil is produced by Nick Wilson, master miller, from his private estate on the banks of the Breede River in the Western Cape. Visitors are invited to stop by the stand to try this delicacy for themselves.

Visitors to Madex this year will be given access to a broad range of solutions to address their most pressing marketing challenges; there really is so much to see and those interested in seeing, touching and feeling are invited to visit www.madex.co.za to secure their entrance tickets today.

Madex 2019 will also feature more than 50 content sessions in two seminar theatres, deep-dive workshops with marketing experts, an opportunity to see the Mentorship Challenge show in action, and the Madex Colour-In Wall, for all of you creative types!

Register to attend Madex 2019 for yourself or for a group; book and pay online at R50 per ticket, or pay R100 at the door!

#TheLifesWayGoals @HuaweiZA #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 3 #HuaweiWatchGT

Hi Friends,

Week 3 started with the great news that I will be using Huawei Watch GT as my primary device to capture my walk towards 25km training and share my progress on my blog and other social media channels. I am thankful to Huawei for the same once again.

3rd Tuesday has the target of 10km which was easy to do as I already did cover that on Saturday of Week 2 but this time I saved some 5 minutes of my walking time to complete the walk. This was really great and gave me the confidence to do with my walks as per plan schedule. It was tough though that I wanted to postpone the walk but somehow carried on and finished the same.
#TheLifesWayGoals @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 3 #HuaweiHealthSA
3rd Thursday was on 23rd May 2019 which was also the results day for the Indian Election 2019 and as I was interested to know who will be the winner all across India so was awake since 330am and started watching TV and watched till the end of the day when the final results were still coming. I started walking but could not do it further than 3.75km as I was really tired and sleepy. If you are not able to sleep well, the walk or run is extremely difficult for me I could get from my body.
3rd Saturday saw me sleeping all day and was fully tired but went shopping and brought some Energade and Cadbury's 5 Star chocolate as I need to walk 12km on that day. As I completed 3km, I started drinking Energade Naartjie flavor and it really gave me instant power and I finished the 500ml bottle by the time I reached around 5km. The only problem with Energade is that it makes you pee a lot and I have to find a loo by 6.5km and soon again at around 8.5km due to the drink. I didn't drink any water for the whole walk and only drank once I reached home.

Saturday also saw me changing my socks to thick ones from Jockey and with my New Balance fresh foam 980 Shoes it never gave me any problems at all. The only problem is that these shoes have already walked around 73km since I started training in them (9 walks) and since I got them from the brand in one of their activations in Feb 2014 and since then it must have seen more than 200km in last 5 years. The life of these shoes is over but I am not able to find another pair which are better than these ones. I have never felt any pain in my feet using these shoes even when I ran long ago for 5km in them without any practice.

New Balance Shoes from Feb 2014 - almost going to take the fall!
All these walks are giving me insights into my mind and body and told me that I need to take some vitamins and energy drinks on my way to 25km. I have started eating Almonds too and need to check how Banana Shake can help me if I take it before my walk every week?

I also ordered Remedy Health Compression Socks for my tired feet from OneDayOnly website and wore them on Saturday night after my walk. It really gave me total foot support and made them relaxed. They were on sale at One Day Only website and you shall check out their deals every morning and every day at 1pm.

#TheLifesWayGoals @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 2 #HuaweiHealthSA

Hi Friends,

Week 2 for my MTN Walk the Talk 25km walk gave me different insights into my body and general challenges to be faced in the next weeks to come. It's a really great adventure which I always wanted to do with myself and this opportunity is really great.
#TheLifesWayGoals @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 2 #HuaweiHealthSA
Overall Target Walk over the next 10 weeks and Percentage Increase over the previous week
On my 2nd Tuesday, I tipped over a scaffolding on the road, the biggest lesson it brought is that you shall never jump over things while walking or running as your feet might not perform as you want them to leading to injuries.
#TheLifesWayGoals @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 2 #HuaweiHealthSA
Week 2 Days Overall Daily Walk Data
Secondly, it also told me that I shall always carry a small First-Aid kit on my practice runs till Week 12 and also some kind of spray to take care of swollen feet or legs.

Week 2 vs Week 1 Performance Analysis
On my 2nd Thursday, as I came from the office a bit late and after drinking tea at home, it already was 715pm when I started. I wanted to postpone the walk of 9km but somehow my willpower took over my head and I completed the same inside my building complex only.
#TheLifesWayGoals @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 2 #HuaweiHealthSA
Another biggest risk I am facing in the evening/night is to face some kind of mugging so sometimes when it's too late, I will have to cover the ground inside the apartment complex only.
#TheLifesWayGoals @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 2 #HuaweiHealthSA
Another lesson learned is that it's easier to walk outside on the road as the scenery changes and you face a different kind of uphill and downhill all the time as compared to walking inside the complex. It is much faster timewise as compared to walking in the set apartment path. Also, it keeps your enthusiasm level high on the road.
#TheLifesWayGoals @Walkthetalk_ #MTN702WALK #Target25km 28Jul19 - Week 2 #HuaweiHealthSA
But this theory was challenged in my final Week 2 - Saturday target of 10km and it happened after a lunch party and it was so difficult to walk on the road after eating. My speed was too slow and the mood was not very great but the only motivating factor was that it was my first day with Huawei Watch GT and this Huawei watch was measuring my performance yesterday. I really loved the nudges to celebrate from 1km to 5km when it gave me a half-way mark wallpaper and then subsequently took me from 6 to 9.99km till it said 100% achieved. I really loved and it also told me about my heart rate from time to time. The Huawei Watch GT is not only comfortable to wear but the battery life is really awesome. The battery only went down by 5-7% during the whole run for more than 128 minutes.

Sony Electronics Wireless WH 1000X M3
My first thanks will go to Sony Electronics for sending their Wireless Noise Canceling Stereo Headset WH-1000X M3 which has really great battery life of 30 hours and the best part is its over-ear headphones design which I always wanted one to try and walk with. I really love the Noise cancellation on these headsets. I used them on Tuesday and Thursday this week and totally fell in love with the same.

Happy Me with the Huawei Watch GT Active - Orange Strap
Secondly, Thanks to Huawei South Africa for partnering with me on my journey to meet 25km and I will track my progress on the watch and will share with all my readers too on their Fans page as well as Health App page on Facebook. #TheLifesWayReviews @BodyGlove Airstream #Bluetooth Earphones @Gammatek #bodyglove #GammaTek

Hi Friends,

Gammatek is the only importer who is bringing the nicest of the technology from various parts of the world to South Africa and selling it through it's online and retail partner stores. I have been aware of some of the brands like Zagg, Snug, Body Glove since 2010 when I was in London and saw these products on Amazon.com and really tried to win them too in some of their contests during Easter and Christmas season. Gammatek gave me a chance to do the same by sending me a product for review and to keep the same if I like it.

Body Glove is one of the biggest accessories maker brands who make several mobile cases for all types of popular smartphones. I received their Airstream Bluetooth Earphones which I not only loved but used them in my day to day life too. The case of these earphones was the most unique thing about this product. It can not only charge those earphones but also can charge your smartphone or any other device using the USB port built into the case. It has a 2800mAh battery which can surely charge any smartphone to its 50-75% capacity in extreme conditions.
#TheLifesWayReviews @BodyGlove Airstream #Bluetooth Earphones #bodyglove #GammaTek
The audio quality of Body Glove earphones is really good. It's clear and rich audio sound quality brings not only great music but also helpful during calls. The Bluetooth connectivity is really easy and fast using 4.1 version. The earbuds fit nicely into your ears and give decent noise isolation too. The specifications said it gives up to 3 hours play time and 3.5 hours talk time in case of hands-free calls. I could use these earbuds for at least 2 hours 30 minutes without any problems but the best part is that these can be charged again and again using the charging case provided on the run. I really loved the audio performance and call quality despite their invisible size which easily fits inside your ears.
#TheLifesWayReviews @BodyGlove Airstream #Bluetooth Earphones #bodyglove #GammaTek
Airstream has 2 earplugs for both sides of the ears and independent of each other. You can use either one of them if not using both. They get charged in their own independent shell inside the case. Unluckily for me, the review unit I received was not able to charge left side of the earphones and I got a replacement unit in 2 days delivered to my home. As I was using the replacement earphones, the attachment pasted using the adhesive came out on one of the earphones and I had to totally return the product to the Gammatek head office in Johannesburg. The brand sent me a newer version of their earphones which will be discussed in another blog post soon.
#TheLifesWayReviews @BodyGlove Airstream #Bluetooth Earphones #bodyglove #GammaTek
This is one of the rare occasions when I found myself so unlucky with BodyGlove Airstream earphones I loved because it has a unique case, can charge my other devices, I don't need to carry power bank and earphones separately, can keep them in my jeans pockets, can just throw them in my backpack and travel far and wide while enjoying the music and talking to friends and relatives using a single device. But the biggest risk is that if you lose the charging case, you won't be able to charge the earbuds in any other way.

Cheers!!!

THE CURSE OF LA LLORONA #Movie @WarnerBros_sa #LaLlorona @LaLlorona #Contest

Hi Friends,

La Llorona. The Weeping Woman. A horrifying apparition, caught between Heaven and Hell, trapped in a terrible fate sealed by her own hand. The mere mention of her name has struck terror around the world for generations.

In life, she drowned her children in a jealous rage, throwing herself in the churning river after them as she wept in pain.

Now her tears are eternal. They are lethal, and those who hear her death call in the night are doomed. La Llorona creeps in the shadows and preys on the children, desperate to replace her own. As the centuries have passed, her desire has grown more voracious…and her methods more terrifying.

In 1970s Los Angeles, La Llorona is stalking the night—and the children.

Ignoring the eerie warning of a troubled mother suspected of child endangerment, a social worker and her own small kids are soon drawn into a frightening supernatural realm. Their only hope to survive La Llorona’s deadly wrath may be a disillusioned priest and the mysticism he practices to keep evil at bay, on the fringes where fear and faith collide.

Beware of her chilling wail…she will stop at nothing to lure you into the gloom.

Because there is no peace for her anguish. There is no mercy for her soul.

And there is no escape from the curse of La Llorona.

6 Tips to Ensure YOU Are NOT a Victim of a Car Sale Scam! #ImperialAuto

Hi Friends,

If you are starting up your own business, you will need to purchase all the tools and equipment you need to be able to operate it. Managing to obtain all the essential tools is a great achievement! If, however, your business requires you to go places – meet people, fetch and carry things – you’ll need to buy a car.

Where does one start? How do you go about purchasing the correct pre-owned vehicle for your business? Do you need a bakkie or a passenger car? Is it advisable to buy a used car for business purposes? Where do you go to find a reliable and affordable car?

The first thing most people do is search online, here you will find a lot of used cars being sold by both private sellers and car dealers.

The process of buying a vehicle requires research and guidance, as there are so many fraud and new car scams floating around on the internet. According to an article featured in BusinessTech in January, a Sunday Times report claimed that approximately 20,000 vehicles are illegally registered and sold in South Africa each year.[1]

Here are a few useful tips to ensure you get the best car deal and avoid being scammed:

Avoiding scams
If a car is offered at a much cheaper price, ask yourself why? “If it looks and sounds too good to be true, it probably is.” Make sure the seller has a valid address and telephone number – be wary of mobile phone numbers, always visit the seller at his/her home and never buy without seeing and driving the car first.

Payment
Never send money overseas – it’s often the preferred method of a fraudulent seller acquiring money illegally. Only pay for the car when you physically collect it from the seller. Be wary of requests for upfront payments or private information, a false sense of urgency or requests to provide unnecessary details – it could be a car export scam.
6 Tips to Ensure YOU Are NOT a Victim of a Car Sale Scam! #ImperialAuto
History check
It is important to make sure you have a history check on any car you’re interested in purchasing. It will tell you whether it is:
  • Recorded as stolen, written-off, or scrapped
  • Recorded as previously repaired by an insurer after an accident
  • Has outstanding finance or has been leased
  • It can also uncover mileage discrepancies and confirm registration details, the number of owners, the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) as well as other original details. This allows you to confirm details with the seller against the car’s paperwork
  • History checks are also available for bikes and vans
The benefit of buying a car from a reputable car dealer like Imperial Auto is that they can provide you with the history check.

Test drive the car
It’s really important that you physically check the car and see the documentation. Never buy without seeing or driving the car first, preferably in daylight when it’s easier to spot damage.

Ask the seller if you can see the original NATIS (registration document) and Road Worthy Certificate. Check that the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on these forms is the same as that on the car. This number is commonly found on the chassis or on the windscreen.

Price
Always check the car’s market value by getting a valuation or comparing the price with other similar models advertised. If it’s being offered at a much cheaper price, ask yourself why.

Paperwork
You must see the original NATIS (registration document), service history and Road Worthy Certificates before handing over any money. Ensure all documents are the originals and not photocopies.

Another option – that a lot of people never even consider because they assume it would cost a lot more (and it doesn’t!) – is to go to a trusted car dealership, such as Imperial Auto and see what deal they could give you on a pre-owned vehicle. The great thing about using reputable Imperial Auto dealers, is you are guaranteed that the car is not stolen or rebuilt.

They have car dealerships nationwide - so you can find one near you. You will need to present your valid driver’s license and you will be able to take the car for a test drive. They are also able to assist with financing and will help work out what your monthly payment and additional running costs will be.
