Diamine Gruntled Guava is really a nice ink, which in Hindi we can call Kesari colour. Gruntled means happy, and here, the guava is happy and has created this colour. Diamine Ink names are really great, and I really like yellow-orange colours the most.
Some of these inks are available at Sandton Stationery & Print shop in Sandton City. Some more colours are available at Applebee Pens in Johannesburg and the WriteGear store in Cape Town. These are also available at WriteSpoke and WriteGear Online Stores as well. The price of these inks is around ZAR 100 for a 30ml bottle.
Diamine Herbert is a saturated ink just like the others on the name of the individuals. It's a darker jeans coloured ink in blue. Let me know what do you think about this one from Diamine Inks. Check it out!

Diamine Monboddo's Hat is a darker violet, and it looks really pigmented. I will be using the same on an EF/F nib fountain pen. Check it out!
This is totally different from all the inks we have showcased so far from various brands. I have reviewed around 50 fountain pens inks. This will definitely feature in my top 10 inks when we do the favourites after finishing all the 32 inks from Diamine. Check it out.

Diamine Writer's Blood is one of the most popular inks from the colourful world of Diamine. This is totally different from all the inks we have showcased so far from various brands. I have reviewed around 49 inks, and this is the 15th from the Cult Pens 12ml bottle series. This will definitely feature in my top 10 when we do the favourites after finishing all the 32 inks from Diamine. Check it out.

Diamine Onyx Black is really a brilliant version of the black ink. This is one of the darkest ones I have so far in the black colour ink category. Black ink should always be in your arsenal for so many purposes. Sometimes a few of the fountain pens look cool when you fill them with the black ink. Check it out, Thanks, Aashish

Diamine Bashful Blueberry is a lighter version of the blue and violet inks. I am not a fan of lighter versions of the inks and pastel inks as well, but sometimes I do like them as well. These are not only soft but also give some kind of variations in your writing journals. The only problem is sometimes these inks are not legible on the paper. This ink doesn't have that kind of problem though and will definitely feature in my next new fountain pens.

Check this fountain pen ink from Diamine named Eau-de-nil which is a darker teal coloured or can also be similar to the jeans colour ink. I got this from Cult Pens UK as a part of 16 inks in 12ml packs that's really great to try out so many colours at a lower cost price.
I love the inks that are bright and feel great on paper. This one is a little bit dull compared to the inks that I love most. This looks like a mixture of blue and green to bring towards a darker teal colour. I am sure if you are looking for a different teal colour, then this will definitely fetch your attention.

I got this amazing neon-coloured ink named Diamine Livid Lime from Cult Pens. This ink looks great and fresh as the newly grown leaves but I felt it's not that legible on the paper. Check it out!
This ink feels really fresh just like the tree leaves when they are newly grown. The ink is really nice for your drawings or doodling. This is not a legible ink on paper but really nice to highlight your notes or points where you want to draw attention.

Thanks to Cult Pens for bringing a lot of Diamine Inks in this small bottle avatar of 12ml each. It's a perfect size to test out all the inks. Check this Diamine Violet if you like the same.
I bought the 16 fountain pen ink (12ml bottles) pack from the Cult Pens Online Store in the United Kingdom. This is the 3rd ink that I have reviewed from the package. Slowly and steadily I will bring you all the inks from Diamine.
This particular ink is totally different from the ones I have from other brands. We can also analyze if you need to buy the pack of inks that come just like that or if you should invest directly in the ones you love.

I bought the Pelikan 4001 Fountain Pen Ink from Takealot Online Store where it was listed for ZAR 145 for 30ml bottle in various colours. I purchased these 4 coloured inks from them; this is the final review of all the ink swabs.
I bought these inks from Takealot.com but got them with a discount voucher that cost me ZAR 82.50 for each bottle. I now want to buy some other colours from this range of inks namely Royal Blue, Brilliant Brown and Dark Green. I will contact Pelikan South Africa as well for the same if they are interested in sending the remaining colours of ink bottles for review.
I bought the Pelikan 4001 Fountain Pen Ink from Takealot Online Store where it was listed for ZAR 145 for 30ml bottle in various colours. I purchased Turquoise coloured ink from them; this is the same review.
Pelikan 4001 Inks are made in Germany and this comes in two bottle sizes. We got the 30ml glass bottle which is priced at ZAR 145 on the Takealot website whereas On Applebee Applebee pens and WriteGear WriteGear online stores, it's priced at ZAR 123 only. Also if you go to the Pelikan Pelikan South Africa page some of the inks are priced starting from ZAR 109 onwards.
Then the whole question comes to the courier charges if you only buy 1 ink, then the overall cost will increase further. So always take into account the minimum purchase amount so that you can get free delivery.
I am just waiting for some ink pens to get finished and then I can wash them and refill them with this ink. Then I will use this ink in my daily journalling and other daily writings on paper. If any brand wants to send me their products they can contact me viaemail.
I love fountain pens and was looking for some of the unique inks and found this one from Lamy South Africa in Turquoise Colour. This ink is peppy, fresh to the eyes and cool in colour and tone. I really love writing my gratitude journal using this colour. The Stationery & Print shop inside Sandton City gave me this ink for ZAR 200 (i.e. USD 12). If I think about the Indian price it will be around Rs. 1000 for a 50ml bottle. Check it out!
I plan to buy some of the inks from the other expensive series of Lamy called Crystal Ink which has some kind of brilliant tint to bring more fun to your writing experience. If I ever buy the Lamy Fountain Pen, it will be in Fine Nib rather than EF Nib. Topaz, Beryl, Agate and Azurite are some of my favourite colours from that series which is going for around ZAR 240 for a 30ml bottle in 2023. The price of inks keeps on increasing annually due to the USD-ZAR fluctuations.
I think this is the ink I have used the most as compared to all the inks I have bought after this one. This ink looks really poppy on the paper and you fall in love with your own writing.
Parker Pens have been my favourite since time immemorial and I still remember that I won one Parket Beta in my favourite Yellow Colour from a contest in Saket, New Delhi from NIIT. That was a ball pen and it really glued me to the Parker quality. Thereafter I bought many Parker Rollerball pens and also some fountain pens. Overall, I had 3 Parker Vector Fountain Pens in three body colours that I really loved. They all had ink converters inside of them and also I got some ink cartridges as well.
As I was randomly visiting the CNA store in Sandton City, which is now closed as well permanently, I found this Parker ink going for sale from its market price of ZAR 150 to ZAR 50 at a 67% discount. I immediately thought of buying the same. Once the ink entered my home, it took me around 4 years to finish the 57ml Blue Ink bottle. The next one I bought I got for ZAR 75 at a 50% discount again.
Till that time I only had some fountain pens and not like today when I have a lot in my collection, so I can say this ink brought a lot of pens into my life and took away a lot of my hard-earned money. Coming back to the colour of the ink, Parker Quink Blue is a different kind of blue, it's dark and has a little bit of red sheen. It's not a brilliant blue or sky blue kind of colour but much darker than that. It doesn't match with any of the other blue inks I have in my arsenal. It's a totally unique ink that can get you started in the fountain pen world. I have filled so many pages of journalling with this ink. I feel like it's a mixture of grey ink mixed with blue colour as it's not darker on the paper. Overall, this is the biggest amount of ink I have used as an adult so I will definitely love my first love but you can decide on your first ink with your first fountain pen for sure.
I have not tested the Parker Quink Ink in Black Colour as yet because they never go on sale, I don't know why and I am sure not I am not going to buy it as well as I have Noodler's Black Bulletproof ink as well along with Camlin Syah Black, Montblanc Mystery Black and Lamy T52 Black ink bottle.
Thanks to CNA Africa Sandton City Store for the annual sale, I got this ink for only ZAR 50 for a 57ml bottle. I will also finish the first bottle of fountain pen ink used or consumed to write using the Parker Fountain Pens. Thanks and enjoy the video.
If any ink brand wants to send us their inks, please contact me at editor@thelifesway.com. Montblanc is a brand you aspire to in your hands or pockets. To own Montblanc products, it definitely needs big pockets or a lot of savings and the capability to put some money in exchange for their products. What I found out is that you can own some Montblanc Fountain Pen Inks as they have the lowest starting price as compared to the rest of their items even diaries and journals. I wanted to try their inks and found these inks at Facebook Marketplace going for around ZAR 350. Even if the inks were not full, then I should also buy them as the new bottle of ink is around ZAR 500 for a 60ml bottle in the store. The ink cartridges are only ZAR 160 which you can get from the Montblanc Store.
Returning to this Irish Green Ink, this one is more of a dark green ink which seems like mixed with black as the wetter portions have darker shades of green. The writing using this ink is great on paper and legible due to its darker shading. I really loved this green colour and the ink swabs etc look fabulous as there is a black sheen on this ink as well.
If I compare this ink with Lamy T52 Green, the Irish Green is much darker, and Lamy Green is lighter in colour. The flow of my particular ink bottle was a little bit sticky, whereas Lamy T52 has a good flow of ink. Overall, this is a great ink to introduce yourself to the Montblanc series of inks for their fountain pens which they highly recommend should not be used in any other pens. This was told to me by the sales executive at the Sandton City Store in Johannesburg, South Africa.
This particular bottle has some kind of problems as well where the ink has turned into more like a sticky ink. In the pens where I used this ink, there is a problem with clogging all the time in the feed. Either I need to put some distilled water to make it a little watery or there is ink mould inside the ink that grew because of not using it for a longer duration of time and the space where it was kept as well.
I did try to put it under sunlight but I don't think it helped make it watery and reduce the mould or the bacteria. I have not used it after discarding the 2 fountain pens I used it in. Now in one of them bought from Ali Express named Yiren 401 (replica of Lamy Safari Vista), I have used Organic Studio's Nitrogen Royal Blue because that's a stronger ink and overpowered the Irish Green on the feed. The other pen Parker Frontier I have washed and kept in my fountain pen museum waiting for a video to be made on the same. I have not filled the same with any other ink as yet.
Thanks to Uncle Derek and his daughter for passing on his legacy of Mont Blanc Inks as well as some of the fountain pens which will be revealed in separate videos. Check out this Mont Blanc Irish Green 60ml Ink bottle and the ink swatch. Slowly we are creating a nice booklet where ink comparison will become easier and more interesting. I have compared the same ink with the Lamy T52 Green ink I own too.
If any ink brand wants to send us their inks, please contact me at editor@thelifesway.com. Karkos Brown Fountain Pen Ink comes in this amazing brown colour and I really wanted a brown coloured ink. I bought Diamine's, Ancient Copper from Stationery & Print Shop in a 30ml bottle. I came to know later that the ink from that particular batch that comes in plastic bottles is not the right Ancient Copper ink. Only the ink in the bigger glass bottle is the real Ancient Copper Diamine fountain pen ink.
Comparing the Ancient Copper we got in the plastic bottle is more like an Orange Brown in colour. When I compare Karkos Brown Ink with the Lamy Topaz Crystal Ink, there is hardly any difference in both the colour inks. Karkos Brown is a little lighter and that's it. Why spend so much amount of money when you have the same kind of colour at cheaper prices in the Karkos Range of inks. Even the ink pigmentation on the paper looks exactly the same so maybe the same colour dye is being used or the same chemical formula is being used in Karkos and Lamy inks is my feeling. It feels like if you dilute the Topaz crystal ink with distilled water, it can become Karkos Brown.
I have thought that I would use the Lamy LX Fountain Pen in Brown body Colour with either of these two inks. If you have another better brown ink, please do let me know and till that time, I will continue to use this one.
After my first order with the Ali Express App, I was glued to the platform mainly because of the two games that give you gold coins that you can pay for your products with. I found some of the fountain pen inks that I wanted to try. Whatever Inks I was getting here in South Africa were very expensive and I thought of not investing that much amount of money into the same.
I bought this Karkos Orange Fountain Pen Ink in a 30ml bottle for USD 1.97 (ZAR 38) each. Express Pencils Store is available on the Ali Express App from where I ordered this ink. Check it out and if you like it, you can also order it.
Also, the South African Post Office charged me only ZAR 36 to release the packet so based on the items inside the package that got equally distributed to all the 6 ink bottles and 1 glass pen. The overall cost of the ink then came to ZAR 45 approximately based on the exchange rate for a 30ml ink bottle.
The ink comes in a plastic bottle with a simple sticker saying the name of the ink. The opening of the bottle is protected by a plastic seal that can be taken in and out to not spill during transport etc. The plastic quality of the bottle is fine. The cap is in the same colour as the ink but it doesn't truly match the same. It takes a little while to take the plastic seal out but on its way from China to South Africa, it's kept in a ziplock bag and there was not even a single drop of ink spill. All the inks came fine and perfect.

Karkos Red Foutain Pen Ink was my first red ink and since then I have been using the same. Karkos Red is totally different from the Lamy T52 Red Fountain Pen Ink. Lamy Red ink is more like a peach colour and Karkos Red is also not red colour as well. It seems like a mixture of pink with red to make it a little lighter than red.
The water-based ink has a much darker colour where it's more wet on the paper. Overall, it's a colour that's really pastel in nature and the same goes for Lamy Red as well. Check out the video and also some of the other ones and this is also a reminder of the inks that I have in my arsenal or collection. What shall I name my Fountain Pens and Ink collection?
Karkos Red Fountain Pen Ink is a really good value product and I think I will experiment with mixing this ink with some of the other inks from Karkos only so that I can create some new colours. There is a saying that you should not mix one brand's ink with some other brand's ink. The best practice is to mix the same brand inks. But life is all about experimentation and I don't think anything is going to happen with these inks even if you mix it with whatever you have in a sample size of 2-3 ml in total as general fountain pens only take around 1ml ink.
Always remember to write down the drops of ink or the millimetres in the syringe when mixing the ink in a small test tube if possible else in an empty plastic sample vial.

Karkos have these fountain pen inks in 10 colours which you can buy in one go and I would strongly recommend so as well. I also liked this Glass Dip Pen that you see in my videos. This glass dip pen also writes very nicely. I should have bought this one only and no need for any fountain pen ever.
Karkos Hot Pink fountain pen ink has a unique name and the colour of this ink is really great. This ink colour really pops up on the paper. After the Bourdex ink, my second choice will be Karkos Hot Pink ink. I really loved these water-based colourful inks from Karkos a lot. They offer great value and maybe in some countries, you may get them cheaper than 2 dollars as well.
Karkos Hot Pink ink is really great and a little bit darker as well. I am using the same in the Fine nib pen and the writing is legible. I think I should switch the same to the EF (Extra Fine) Nib pen. The problem with this ink is that due to its dark colour, the ink sometimes covers the feed and grip section strongly and as I am using the same in a white colour pen, it's more visible. Overall, I would definitely buy the same ink again and maybe dilute it a little bit with distilled water to reduce its dark colour to make it cool pink rather than hot pink. I don't have any other pink coloured ink so I won't be able to compare it with any other branded ink. I think I bought Faber Castell fountain pen ink cartridges but don't have any Faber Castell Fountain Pen as yet to test it out.

Karkos Violet fountain pen ink has the best bottle cap for sure. I really loved the same and it attracted me first towards making a purchasing decision. Karkos Violet looks like blue ink in the swab photo as I see but the reality is not like that.
Karkos Violet is a different colour from blue ink and really sparkles on the paper. This one doesn't have any shimmer or sheen. This ink is a little lighter in colour than the Lamy Azurite that I purchased later during the Black Friday sale but the price difference is huge. I used this ink and since the start, I have been putting this pen into the Jinhao metal pen. But I think all these Karkos inks are much better for the Bold nibs or any size bigger than those because it will leave much more ink on the paper and then that will be easy to read. The pen I am using has an EF (Extra Fine) nib which is a little thin to identify the ink colour on paper.
So if your thinking is that the expensive brands are putting something special in their inks, then it's a huge lie told by the stationary brand's stores who are selling them. To a normal eye, you won't know the difference as well. It's the same chemical dyes or colour that every ink maker is using and maybe they are procuring from the same Chinese manufacturer. With this analysis that I just did, I now will buy the remaining 4 colours available in the Karkos range of inks.

Karkos Orange is really a bright orange ink from the Karkos range of inks. I really loved it because I love yellow colour and this is the closest in terms of a combination of orange and red. Yellow-coloured ink is one thing that's needed if you want to experiment with creating your own unique colours. I am still in search of yellow ink and only have some Lamy Mango Cartridges from the sale at Exclusive Books. Those cartridges I used to create some unique ones by mixing them with Green and thereafter with blue or something to get to some unique colours in my Yellow Lamy Safari Fountain Pen.
Karkos Orange is having a little bit of difficulty reading as the ink is a little bit of dull as compared to the other inks. I will have to experiment with this ink with the thick nib may be bold or stub ones as it will leave much more ink on the paper. But one thing is sure the Orange is definitely an ink to have in your collection. It will really help if you love drawing sunrise or sunset and many expensive inks are there in this colour as well like Noodler's Sunset.
