Stationery Review 130 - BIC My 4 Colours Box (ZAR 199)

Hi Friends,

BIC Pens needs no introduction and as a student, you must have had some exam written using the same. For me, BIC pens were a luxury in India as there are cheaper pens available in the market that we used to write with but then also BIC four-in-one pen was something I really wanted to own. The same came true when I came to South Africa and bought one from the Pick n Pay store at a discounted price. The one I got has a mechanical pencil also built into the same. The same has traveled with me ever since and I do use it if I have to do some forms for a VISA or any kind of government work. 

Last year I came across a unique packaging at the Pick n Pay store where the 4 Colours as they are called in South Africa, are in the pen shape pack. It was really a unique packaging and I bought it from the Pick and Pay at Nicole. This year I saw another kind of packaging at Makro which really inspired me to pick some more of them. This time the same was available in Tin packaging which was really awesome. 

Check out the video that I created of using the same and also doing a small unboxing for you guys. This packaging has 5 pens inside the box. There are 3 pens with metallic bodies in our normal ink colours - Red, Blue, Green and Black. The other two have Pastel coloured body designs and ink colours are also unique. I really love the smooth flow of ink on the paper. The great plastic quality on these pens and also the colours of inks that are available in this range. The best part is that you can use them for years and can carry them wherever you want. You can keep them in your backpack, pencil case or just randomly in your desk or table and they will start writing when you are ready to do so.

I got to meet the BIC Team at one of their events for Global Education Week. I showcased what I have collected over the years from the brand. This set is definitely going into the Stationery museum that I have created for myself. It brings me a lot of joy to not only use the pens but also to just admire the beautiful writing instruments in their resting place inside the tin box. I wish that along with the body colours they should have all 20 refills in different colours for a special edition packaging. I am sure it's going to happen soon as BIC have those kinds of refills available with them.

My Favourite After Shave Lotion - BRUT for Men! Original @UnileverSA @PicknPay #AfterShaveLotion

Hi Guys, 

I am using after-shave lotion since the time I started to shave way back in 1996 or so. 

I have been fascinated by the slim red-coloured Old Spice bottle as my Uncle used to use it. He used to apply the same if I used to get hurt sometimes which will heal the wound as well due to its antiseptic nature. 

I started using it myself for a long time starting maybe in 2000 till 2014 when I got this Brut After Shave lotion combo pack with Deo on my birthday from one of my friends. I used it in 2014 or so for the first time and since then I am glued to this with Old Spice I bought in between when it goes on sale at Dischem or Clicks. 

I have used the Blue bottle Spirit fragrance as well as this Green bottle Original fragrance so many times now alternatively. Thanks to Unilever South Africa and all the retail stores where it goes on sale especially Pick n Pay. I have observed that Pick and Pay is the only retailer that discounts the product to 25% of the original value during the sale for certain things.

The elegant beer-like bottle offers the classic aftershave that we are all familiar with and love, following the original 1964 formula with contemporary additives. Being a working mom or even a stay home mom can be quite a challenging job with tasks from running errands, ensuring that the kids’ needs are met, helping with homework etc. Knowing how hectic things get we thought we’d share some apps from the Windows Phone store that all moms will love making use of (even dads!). We hope this list includes something all moms will find useful, no matter her interests from gaming to baking, to the creative or entrepreneur.

PicknPay

The Pick n Pay app is free and lets you manage your account anywhere and everywhere. Keep track of your Smart Shopper points, view shopping history, see current promotions and view or use vouchers. You will really appreciate the convenience the PicknPay apps brings to your Lumia handset with features like getting cash back on your card or getting airtime, in exchange for points. Other services include getting travel rewards with Avios or purchasing Webtickets.

PriceCheck
Are you too busy to shop around for deals in store? Download the PriceCheck app and at your convenience, compare the best deals on an extensive range of products before heading out. PriceCheck says it has more than 30 million products listed. You can sift through by category or location. It’s also useful when you are in-store and want to scan a barcode. Results include prices, description, images and user reviews.

Home Remedies

For moms who rely on home remedies to keep the family in good health, look no further than the Home Remedies app. It has more than 50 recipes made from herbs, vegetables, spices or fruit, and claims no side effects. Cozi Family Organiser has won the award for Best Family App in the Appy awards and for good reason. It has a colour-coded shared calendar to view schedules of individuals or the family, set reminders, shared shopping lists, see items added by family members, and to do lists. The whole family shares one account but each individual can access it using their own email addresses. Another bonus is the cross platform support. 

 

Sometimes these mobile apps really makes it very easy for us to order stuff and other times we want to De-stress ourselves via going to the actual stores and have our own say what to buy and what not? Smartphones have taken the market via storm and Windows Phones is also gaining market share from Android and iOS as more and more apps are being developed for this platform also.
