10 French Phrases You Need To Know Before Jetting Off To The Rugby World Cup @AirFranceZA

Hi Guys,

As the anticipation for the Rugby World Cup reaches a fever pitch, it's not just the thundering tackles and spectacular tries that can leave you awestruck. Hosted in France, this global sporting extravaganza presents a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the country’s rich culture and language.

As many South Africans prepare to jet off to France to watch the Springboks defend their title, Air France shares a few important French phrases to perfect ahead of the Rugby World Cup.

1) Je voudrais du champagne, s'il vous plait – There's nothing quite like embarking on an international adventure and unwinding with a glass of bubbly up in the air. Given that France is the birthplace of champagne, Air France stands as the sole airline globally to offer champagne across all cabin classes. So, use this phrase to impress your flight attendant and enjoy some of the country’s best champagne while enjoying your direct flight to all of the rugby action.

2) Allez Bokke! – South Africans aren’t afraid to support their national teams loudly – and chanting this phrase with other supporters will certainly make everyone in the stadium know who you are backing this World Cup!

3) Où est le stade? – Translating to "Where is the stadium?", this question will be your guiding light on match days. Whether you're in Paris, Marseille, or any of the host cities, use this phrase to ensure you reach the heart of the action.

4) Une bière, s'il vous plait – After a riveting match, there's nothing like raising a toast to the victorious team or simply enjoying the lively atmosphere. "A beer, please" will help you secure your preferred beverage and immerse yourself in post-game celebrations.

5) Combien ça coûte? – This is a great phrase to keep at the back of your mind whenever you’re visiting France. Translating to "How much does it cost?" this phrase will be your go-to when purchasing souvenirs, jerseys, or that mouth-watering crepe you've been eyeing since you arrived.

6) J'adore le rugby! – France will be filled with rugby supporters from around the world. While supporters of many different teams will descend on the country and its host cities, the love of the game is what will unite fans visiting. Translating to "I love rugby!", this phrase will help express your passion for the sport to fellow fans and strike up conversations that transcend borders.

7) Parlez-vous anglais? – Another important phrase for any visit to France, "Do you speak English?" is helpful for those moments that get lost in translation. Asking this question in French shows respect for the local culture and language while indicating that the language barrier has proven to have become a little complicated.

8) C'est incroyable! – While watching the many matches lined up, incredible tries and awe-inspiring plays will be aplenty. This phrase translates to “It's incredible!” and helps you express your amazement with locals. Sport continuously proves that a shared appreciation for the game can bring together fans of all languages.

9) Quel est le prochain match? – The Rugby World Cup match schedule can get a little confusing, so asking other fans for an update could be your best bet to ensure you don’t miss a game. Translating to "What is the next match?" this phrase helps you stay informed about the tournament schedule so you don't miss out.

10) Merci beaucoup! – Finally, don't forget to express your gratitude with a heartfelt "Thank you very much!" as you bid adieu to this unforgettable experience.

The Rugby World Cup is more than just a sporting event; it's a celebration of unity, passion, and shared love for the game. With these essential French phrases, travellers not only navigate the Air France flight, the streets and stadiums with ease but also forge connections that go beyond language.

Aum Namah Shivay!

Till next time...Aashish

@Airbnb Brings A Night Among The Sharks #Aquarium #Paris #France

Hi Guys,

Airbnb, the world’s leading community-driven hospitality company, unveiled the most awe-inspiring Airbnb listing to date – a fully submerged bedroom in the shark tank at the Paris Aquarium where your closest neighbours will be 35 sharks. Hosted by the Paris Aquarium on the nights of April 11, 12th and 13th, this underwater bedroom sits within three million litres of water, in an aquarium ten meters deep and where the only thing separating the guests from the majestic sharks is a 360-degree transparent wall.

Sharks are among the most feared and misunderstood animals in the world. You are for instance, more likely to die from taking a selfie than from a shark attack. This April, people will have the chance to get up close to these stunning animals and appreciate their power and beauty.
Three lucky people and their guest will each get to spend a night in the underwater bedroom. They will be welcomed by host, Fred Buyle, a world record-breaking freediver, underwater photographer, and shark conservationist. He’ll dance alongside the sharks, the ideal introduction to your companions for the night. Once the guests are settled, Fred and one of the Aquarium’s marine biologists will guide them on a tour through the Aquarium, and provide an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of sharks: how they live, why they’re so misunderstood, and their importance to the ocean’s ecosystem. The winner and their guest will also enjoy an intimate meal, with gorgeous tank-side views of the sharks.
Opened in 1867 and located in front of the Eiffel Tower, the Aquarium de Paris was the first of its kind to be built anywhere in the world. Designed specifically for the Aquarium and tested in the Mediterranean sea, the submarine bedroom will live on even after guests leave, acting as a study area for biologists, whether or not they are divers. The structure will reduce the number of dives needed and therefore the emission of bubbles, allowing the biologists to observe a more natural behavior of fish. The animals are already used to the custom built structure: they are curious, approach it and swim quietly.

“We’ve seen cable cars, former airplanes and even the top of a ski jump listed on Airbnb, but this is really unlike anything we’ve ever seen before on the site,”said Olivier Grémillon, Managing Director EMEA for Airbnb. “Whether you have a passion for sharks or a shark phobia, this will not only be a once-in-a-lifetime, magical experience, it will also be a chance to change the way you think about these beautiful creatures.”

“We’re thrilled to be the first Aquarium in the World to offer this chance for people to be more than simply visitors, but to get such an ‘immersive’ experience,”said Alexis L. POWILEWICZ, CEO of Aquarium de Paris. “Sharks are essential for the health of marine ecosystem. If they were to disappear, it would be a major threat to the ocean’s ecosystem. It is therefore crucial to be able to observe them in order to better protect them. Aquariums provide a place to observe their behavior and reproduction patterns and we look forward to continuing to use this observation structure for that purpose. This event is important for us. It’s a chance to work with scientists to observe sharks closer than ever.”
Visit the listing page to win the chance to spend one night in the Aquarium.Entrants are asked to tell a little about themselves, where they live and why they belong with the sharks for a night, by 11:59 p.m. CET on 4/3/2016.

Not local? No worries. We’ll fly the winners in from anywhere in the world. The winner and their guest should be over 18 years old, medically fit and able to climb into and out of the bedroom. Note that for safety reasons, the winner and their guest must not exceed 190 kilograms. Submissions should be between 50-550 characters or less in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian or Portuguese and 50-300 character or less in Chinese, Japanese or Korean.

House rules
● No selfies after dark. Remember, sharks are sensitive to light.
● Avoid seeing Jaws before your sleepover. They’re kinder than you think!
● No sleepwalking or night swimming.
● Don’t eat the chum.
● No diving.
● Keep your heads and feet in the bedroom at all times.
● Sheep can’t swim, so count sharks instead.
● Don’t take the bait.
● The guests will have access to the biologists’ bathroom

Product Review - @AramexSA Global Shopper - Part 2

Hi Guys,

Aramex Global Shopper is an amazing concept to get your favorite gadgets as soon as possible from the launch countries. Now you don't need to go to gray market and pay enormous amount to buy the latest Apple gadgets. It's also beneficial for something that is going for sale or cheap prices in US / UK markets. I always see there is a huge mismatch in prices between the United States and every other country around the world. It's always great to have something from the source as the extra cost you can afford and ready to pay.
So now coming back to the point 6 (as per info-graphics image above) where my order was processed by Amazon.com and now I am awaiting the delivery of my package at the NY address. Read first post here -  http://www.thelifesway.com/2015/04/product-review-aramex-global-shopper.html

Amazon.com is really very fast in terms of delivering the package and it reached the New York AGS facility within 3-4 days including Sat/Sun. As soon as it reaches the AGS facility, I got an email from AGS that my package has now reached their warehouse and I will be informed when it's on it's way to Johannesburg.

AGS created a record on MY PACKAGE tracking page once I logged into the website to keep a track of my items in transit. It took them a day to finally finalize the package to be shipped to Johannesburg. It was the time that I need to pay for the package shipping fees which came out to be R274/USD23 (the exchange rate on the day of payment). My package was about 1 kilograms so the fees was R274. Customs and other charges will be extra if any is charged will be taken from you later.

The package reached AGS operations facility in CBD, Johannesburg in 2-3 days max and was awaiting confirmation of payment and delivery as it was weekend when it reached the city. I was waiting the package to reach me on Monday but it didn't so I called the customer care number around 12pm and talked to the staff. The IVRS helpline was easy to use and staff was helpful to track my package and confirm that it will be released by today eod and I will receive it next morning.

I was very elated to receive the package at around 10am the very next morning and there was no custom charges attached to my goods which made the deal much more great. So all in all if you subscribe to AGS (USD 45) + Online Order (X amount) + Shipping Charges (USD 25) = Happy Customers ( USD 70 + X amount of goods) for the first time. But the first USD 45 fees to become a member is once in a lifetime and you can order for as many years as you want or till the time Aramex service is available for everyone. On you next order, you just need to pay for the goods and shipping charges as per the weight of the package, so in the long run you will cover the cost of initial membership, if you or your friends or family wants to order a lot from many countries.

Aramex Global Shopper does what it's name reflects and message it conveys as it turns you into a shopper globally without any limits but within some respectful constraints laid out by respective countries for import rules. If you are a true shoppholic and wants your goods to be delivered as soon as they are launched, get the membership of this amazing facility to have shipping address in 15 countries and get them delivered in Kenya and South Africa. This service will expend soon based on the initial response and I wish them all the very best. I am very happy with the service as one of my dream gadgets is now in my hands and I am able to enjoy it fully which I will blog about soon. Thanks to ARAMEX GLOBAL SHOPPER.

Cheers!!!

Product Review - @AramexSA Global Shopper - Part 1

Hi Guys,

It's been a shopaholic dream to buy all the latest gadgets from around the world and get it delivered it right at my doorsteps in not more than a week of the launch of the product. I have been waiting for the same since my childhood to get my dream gadgets and goodies right from UK and USA. It was so easy to get anything in London from amazon UK or USA but when I came to South Africa, I did missed the service of buying anything and getting it delivered here.
Aramex Global Shopper is an online shopping delivery solution which allows you to buy products from any one of the 15 countries and get it locally delivered to your location in Kenya and South Africa. This service is launched by the Aramex which is a leading global provider of comprehensive logistics and transportation solutions since 1982. In January 1997, Aramex became the first Arab-based international company to trade its shares on the NASDAQ stock exchange.

Coming back to the logic of how this service works for me and you is a number of steps that we need to follow before we can start shopping and ordering stuff for ourselves.

Step 1 - Go online and click on http://www.aramexglobalshopper.com/en/home
Step 2 - Click to Sign Up and register yourself for this service. You will receive an email to confirm the same.
Step 3 - Once you click on the link provided in the email, you will have to enter more details about your address locally (Kenya or South Africa currently) to get your product delivered to you. Save and submit.
Step 4 -Payments page will charge you USD 45 once to become a lifetime membership fees which you can pay via various online payment modes. You can also enter any coupon or deals vouchers if any.

The best part about the AGS (Aramex Global Shopper) is that it comes with a first year Moneyback guarantee in case you are not satisfied with the service, you can ask for a refund of your money. Your active AGS account will be deactivated in  that case and you longer won't be able to use the services.

Step 5 - Once registered, you get 15 personalized physical addresses in New York, London, Shanghai, Istanbul, Dubai, Mumbai, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Frankfurt, Milan, Barcelona, Paris, Singapore, Ontario and Malaysia. You can use these addresses to shop from the US, UK/EU, China, Turkey, UAE, India, Hong Kong, South Africa, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Singapore, Canada and Malaysia and they will deliver them to where you live at reasonable shipping rates. While ordering products from any local online shopping like amazon US, you will have to enter the US addresses as your local address along with a AGS number that will be allocated to every registered member. This number will help track as to which shipment belongs to which registered user.

Step 6 -Once your products that you ordered reaches the AGS facility, you will receive an email from them. You are now a step closer to your favourite products. You can now pay online for the shipping charges from the AGS facility to your home. To give you an idea of charges it's around R275 for around 1 kg of package for Zone 1 and R200 for Zone 2 (UAE, India and Turkey).

Step 7 - After the payment, the package will take around a week (2-6 working days) to reach your city and once you receive the package you have pay for the Custom fees or any charges pending at the time of delivery by the Aramex.

Do check some of the unacceptable material as per the custom rules and regulations within various countries before ordering stuff from your favorite online shopping channel.

AGS Protect offers free insurance upto USD 100 and you can choose to pay for insurance for any items above USD 100 by yourself to be on the safe side. It's not compulsory to take this service. You can choose and decide based on the products you are ordering.

Check out our infographic below that explains how our service works.
I am personally trying this service out and I have reached till the step of ordering my favourite gadgets from Amazon.com in USA and the shipment will be reaching AGS facility by 30th April. I will then order the package to reach me in Johannesburg. I will write a post after I receive the package about the quality of this service once again. Till that time keep on enrolling and choosing your favorite products from your online shopping websites.

Movie Review - Le Week-End (2014)

Hi Guys,

So I’ve just taken a short break from playing my favorite games at this website. Here to write up my review on a great new movie for you.
Le Week-End is a comedy drama movie of a aged couple to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary in Paris. The adventures and misadventures forms the part of the story. They repeat things which they did when they were here on their honeymoon. The testing time of life really do separates the couples and makes a lot of issues if they lose out the communication and regular talking to each other. Nick and Meg Burrows return to Paris, the city of their honeymoon, to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary. Designed as a weekend to rediscover some romance in their long-lived marriage, we follow our couple as long-established tensions in their marriage break out in humorous and often painful ways.
Le Week-End is all about living your life once again when you are retiring or near that age. A lot of things happen between your honeymoon and thirty years of life after that. We all need to refresh ourselves from time to time so as to stay stress free and in love. This movie represents the basic living soul of our lives. All of us need love and a partner to share our lives with and when something happens between two of us - it hurts. So communication is the key to solve a lot of problems along with ability to listen to what other is saying too.

This movie is definitely worth a go to relive your dreams to be in Paris once in a lifetime. Jim Broadbent and Lindsay Duncan has put a lot of efforts to make this movie worth a watch. This movie will definitely be liked by the senior age groups.

Movie is releasing in Ster Kinekor on 25th Jul 2014. Book your tickets now. More info on twitter and facebook.
Cheers!!!
