@HuaweiZA Releases #HUAWEIWATCHGT2 Powerful and Upgraded Fitness Experience

Hi  Friends,

Huawei has unveiled its next-generation smartwatch, HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 46mm and 42mm series, powered by the firm’s proprietary Kirin A1 chip. Delivering an upgraded user experience and unrivaled battery life due to the chip’s ultra-low power consumption capability, WATCH GT 2 pushes the boundaries of what is expected from a wearable. The HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 is also Huawei’s first smartwatch with an all-in-one 3D glass screen, creating a wider, boundless display. Moreover, the new smartwatch delivers more sports modes with richer programs, as well as adding Bluetooth calling and music playback functionalities, enhancing comprehensive health and fitness monitoring and management capabilities, ultimately offering greater care in meticulous detail to those who love sport and the pursuit of quality of life.

Proprietary Kirin A1 chipset supports unrivaled battery life
The previous generation HUAWEI WATCH GT was well-loved by users because of its impressive battery life. HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 goes in further, being equipped with Huawei’s proprietary Kirin A1 chipset to further improve on battery life. The Kirin A1 chipset integrates an advanced Bluetooth processing unit, a powerful audio processing unit, an ultra-low power consumption application processor and a separate power management unit. The application processor uses the Cortex-M7 processor to achieve ultra-low power consumption of 10uA/MHz, which is far below the industry average of 30uA/MHZ. The perfect combination of high performance and efficient power consumption makes it possible for HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 to deliver robust usage and even longer battery life.

In daily use, the HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 46mm series can operate continuously for up to two weeks, with both the intelligent heart rate monitor and call notification functions on and weekly usage of up to 30 minutes of Bluetooth calls; up to 30 minutes of music playback; up to 90 minutes of exercise and using the scientific sleep mode at night. In the classic mode, the HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 42mm series can operate continuously for up to one week. Both series of watches have greatly improved battery life in the GPS tracked sports mode. The 46mm series achieves a battery life of 30 hours under the GPS tracked sports mode, while the 42mm series reaches 15 hours.*
@HuaweiZA Releases #HUAWEIWATCHGT2 Powerful and Upgraded Fitness Experience
All-in-one 3D glass design for expansive display experience
Classic design never goes out of style. Inheriting the classic look from the previous generation, HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 further upgraded the aesthetics with a full-screen and borderless design. The all-in-one 3D glass surface allows for a wider look and feel. The dial of the 46mm series adopts beveled sculpting and gemstone processing techniques to create 3D curved glass and applies individual carving to create concave spots on the dial for a more vivid look. Treated with multiple processes, the curved dial of the 42mm series is only 9.4mm thin and decorated with an extremely thin, fashionable metal frame.

The HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 46mm series is also equipped with a 1.39-inch AMOLED HD precision touch screen with a display resolution of 454 x 454 pixels, wider color gamut, and an ultra-thin design that is superior to LCD screens, achieving fuller screen color and higher contrast. The screen design is modern and artistic, suitable for people who pursue the finer things in life and speaks to the simple, exquisite design philosophy that is in vogue nowadays.

New professional sports monitoring creates a richer smartwatch experience
Sports enthusiasts ask for professional sports data monitoring and all-around experience from their smartwatches. The HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 46mm series connects with Huawei mobile phone Bluetooth and supports Bluetooth calls at up to 150 meters. The watch also supports phonebook functionality so you can save friends’ contact information on your watch and easily look them up. At the same time, the watch comes with large storage capacity, housing up to 500 mp3 songs. You can easily manage and enjoy music while exercising.

In the sports mode, HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 is compatible with 15 sports, including eight outdoor sports (running, walking, climbing, hiking, trail running, cycling, open water, triathlon) and seven indoor sports (walking, running, cycling, swimming pool, free training, elliptical machine, rowing machine). For these 15 sports modes, the watch provides full-scale monitoring of approximately 190 types of data. The watch provides targeted pre-exercise data analysis for different sports, data recording analysis during the exercise and professional advice afterward. It is like having a personal intelligent sports coach to make your exercise safer and better.

Comprehensive health management for your everyday care
In the field of intelligent wearables, Huawei is committed to helping consumers better manage their own health. Leveraging advanced intelligent algorithms, Huawei is an industry leader in health management.

In terms of heart rate monitoring, HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 helps monitor bradycardia and heart failure. Unless in the sports mode, the user will be notified if the heart rate is above 100 bpm or below 50 bpm for more than 10 minutes. Users can also view the data in the Huawei Sports and Health App to keep an eye on your health in real-time.

In addition to heart rate monitoring, sleep monitoring is another function that users care about. Poor quality sleep has become a problem for many. HUAWEI TruSleep™ 2.0 monitors sleep quality, real-time heart rate, sleep breathing quality and uses big data analysis to rate sleep quality. It combines Huawei AI technology to accurately analyze sleep problems and provides sleep improvement suggestions, as well as personalized sleep services and reports to help users improve sleep quality.

HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 also comes with self-developed HUAWEI TruRelax™ technology, which helps users relieve stress by recording HRV (heart rate variability) values and providing feedback on the user's stress index. In addition, it also has a sedentary alert, which reminds the user to stand up and move around after a certain period of time. On special occasions, the alert can be turned off. You can also record the number of steps you take each day, calories burned, and the number of times you stand up. HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 provides consumers with all-day physical status information to help them develop healthy living habits and lifestyles.

#TheLifesWayReviews - #Technology in #Shuffle Mode Play in MP3 Players

Hi Friends,

I am been a fan of music and due to which I am a huge collector of earphones and headphones along with various types of MP3 players and devices. I have all the devices or used to have all the devices from Sony Walkman to Sony MP3 CD players to the latest Apple iPod Shuffles and Nano to even some dodgy local ones from cheaper brands. I am an ardent fan of loading my music - my favorite set of songs into all the devices everywhere - be it in car or smartphone or iPad or laptop.
#TheLifesWayReviews - Technology in #Shuffle Mode Play in MP3 Players #TheLifesWay
The problem I faced with all these devices or the mp3 players is the SHUFFLE mode which is totally outdated even when the new software and technology is still upgraded all the time. No matter which device I use the SHUFFLE mode works in the same patterns, making the same songs appear even when you have 16GB full of songs in different folders. This has troubled me so much that I switched off SHUFFLE play and went on to the Normal play which was much better than the same.

Do you feel the same pain as I am? or Are you using any player which can take you to all the 1000+ songs before repeating the same one or the pattern? Do let me know in comments below.

Cheers!!!

What Will You Order For Your Weird Craving? @Uber_RSA #UberEatsSA

Hi Friends,

There’s nothing more satisfying than placing a food delivery order and having it arrive exactly as imagined - whether that means having your avo on the side or your drink with no ice. Uber Eats has released their first-ever Cravings Report which breaks down some of South Africa’s most unique delivery requests, some of the most unusual combinations and the wackiest comments made via the Uber Eats app from the last year.

Let’s leave this off
It should be no surprise that tomato was the most requested food item to be left of any meal, with a total of over 200 000 orders placed over the last year that asked for the red vegetable to be left off. That's about 3 300 tomatoes saved from being picked off and wasted. Sauces finished off in second place, with mayonnaise being voted the least favourite since it was the most requested condiment to be left off. Rounding off the list was garnish items like lettuce and onion being removed from burgers to noodles.

Local is lekker
South Africans are known to be proud, and some restaurants had to adapt menu items to feed the cravings of locals. With at least 1 000 meals swapping out traditional starch for delicious pap. The local staple is loved so much, that many Eaters are willing to pay an additional restaurant fee to have it delivered with their meal.

Chakalaka and achaar were also commonly used to replace chilli relish or BBQ sauce. It seems that the spicier the food the better it is for locals, who have on plenty of occasions stated that they prefer hot to extra hot when selecting the flaming flavour. South African flavours are a must and included with some local favourites including Kotas and vetkoek. Unorthodox but truly South African, is that some orders request that a tomato base be replaced with a chakalaka base on pizzas.
What Will You Order For Your Weird Craving? @Uber_RSA #UberEatsSA
Emotional eaters because why not?
South Africans are known to love food, but almost any scenario and its accompanying emotion can be celebrated or comforted via an order on the app. Exam periods and test weeks leave students with high stress levels, that can best be counteracted with slap chips. Other emotionally-charging occasions including, graduations, Valentine’s Day and Premier League Weekends, were also when the app experienced an influx in orders.

No Barks, No Bites
It’s a well known South African proverb that many are all too familiar with. At least 200 orders specifically stated that their dog does in fact not bite, and the delivery-partner is welcome to come into the yard.

For any fear experienced by the barking dogs, it was easily made up because South Africans are nothing if not giving and kind. Many requests were received asking the restaurant to give parts of their order like chips, coffee and rolls to the delivery-partner when the order is picked up, so that they may enjoy it while still warm.

As the cravings report continues to be unravelled and more weird wallops and crazy cravings are discovered, one thing is for sure, South Africans are as loving as they are unique and while some orders raise eyebrows, other requests warm hearts.

About Uber Eats:
Uber Eats allows people to search for and discover local restaurants, order a meal at the touch of a button, and have it delivered reliably and quickly. Since launching the Eats app three and a half years ago, the business has leveraged Uber’s technology and logistics expertise to serve 500+ cities globally, all while keeping average delivery time under 30 minutes. In South Africa, Uber Eats is currently in over nine cities across South Africa (Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Paarl, Pietermaritzburg, Bloemfontein, Port Elizabeth and Soweto).

Early B’s lyrics combined with his particular flavour of hip-hop beats make him a sought after performer at local and international festivals.

Trained as a TV presenter, she fell in love with mixing music thanks to her brother Zak, who owned a sound equipment rental company. This power-play has achieved much in the decade or so since her musical discovery, including producing a woman empowerment television show – ‘It takes a Village’ – co-authoring a best-selling book ‘Meeting Your Power’ and becoming the new judge on SABC 1's talent search show, 1's and 2's where she worked alongside Ayanda MVP and Prince Kaybee. Building a Sustainable Africa at #AfricaCom 2019 @ICAfrica50 @Connects_Africa #A50ichallenge

Hi Friends,

AfricaCom is synonymous with the coming together of great minds, the generation of new ideas and the showcasing of innovation. This year, AfricaCom goes one step further to ensuring the progression of the African continent towards a digital democracy with the support of a number of causes that will focus on providing the space, skills and access to the Internet to make it all possible.

AfricaCom’s chosen sustainability partners include Code for Cape Town, Mellon Educate, and Africa50, via the Africa50 Innovation Challenge.

Tom Cuthell, Event Director at Informa, organisers of AfricaCom, expressed his pleasure at being able to provide a platform for these three deserving initiatives: “AfricaCom is delighted to be able to partner with these initiatives, a first for us as an event. Each organisation addresses a particular technological and communication need and by bringing them together in one place, we are hoping that delegates and visitors, will visibly connect just how important it is that we all work together to ensure digital inclusivity becomes a reality for everyone on the continent.”
Building a Sustainable Africa at #AfricaCom 2019 @ICAfrica50 @Connects_Africa #A50ichallenge
Code for Cape Town (Code4CT) - will have a prime position at AfricaTech, which is co-located with AfricaCom - is a community of young female tech leaders who are advocates for encouraging more women to enter the technology industry, and who place coding at the heart of their skills development outreaches. Diversity is needed in the technology space, with currently, only one in five women represented as global IT executives.

Of the opportunity to participate at AfricaCom 2019, Emma Dicks, Founder of Codespace the social enterprise that powers the multi-award winning Code4CT, said: "Code for Cape Town addresses the lack of diversity in the tech industry by creating a space for high school girls to learn to code and explore potential career paths in the tech industry. Ultimately, our goal is for young women to choose to include coding as part of their tertiary education.

Building a Sustainable Africa at #AfricaCom 2019 @ICAfrica50 @Connects_Africa #A50ichallenge“An event such as AfricaCom, is a fantastic opportunity for our community of young coders to see the scope of opportunity offered in the tech industry and connect with future employers. At the same time, our young coders can pass on their love of coding to delegates at the event. We are hoping to be able to engage with companies who share our mission to create a more diverse and inclusive tech industry."

Don’t book your seat home just yet…stay and help build a school
Skills development is one thing but, what about the practical spaces to come together for education? Niall Mellon and his organisations are no strangers to Africa, having built many homes for people over the years, but through Mellon Educate UK, corporate teams are encouraged to get involved in a seven day school Building Blitz. Team building at its best - a sign-up for the next November Building Blitz challenge, which will take place immediately after AfricaCom this year, will be open at AfricaCom for all delegates/enterprises and their colleagues, to participate in, learning new skills, developing radical insights into the living and schooling conditions of ordinary Africans and even making new friends, in the process.

Niall Mellon – Founder of Mellon Educate explains why they are involved this year: “On behalf of Mellon Educate, we welcome our valued partnership with AfricaCom and look forward to each and every one of you helping change the lives of many less fortunate than us. I’ve always wondered why somebody didn’t do something and then I realised I am somebody and with the power of the collective we can achieve anything.

“As Nelson Mandela once said – “Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world,” and with the support of AfricaCom you have that opportunity to do just that by joining our Building Blitz ! Thank you AfricaCom for getting behind Mellon Educate !

Two schools in the Mfuleni Township, Cape Town, will benefit this year, thanks to the generosity of all involved.

Have what it takes to get Africa connected?
Skills development and education hubs need access to the Internet to make the dream of an inclusive and economically thriving Africa a reality, and this is where the third initiative that AfricaCom will profile in 2019, comes in - The Africa50 innovation Challenge.

This is pan-Africa investment platform Africa50’s exciting crowdsourced initiative seeking ICT experts, engineers and innovators to help them find a sustainable solution to Africa’s most pressing infrastructure needs. Over 75% of Africans still do not have access to the Internet and Africa50 is hoping that AfricaCom can provide it with access to the brains trust required to help them ensure that affordable and reliable last mile connectivity can be rolled out to all under-served communities across the continent.

Individuals and organisations with a strong passion for developing innovative solutions are encouraged to apply. Submitted solutions to the Challenge will be reviewed by a group of experts in ICT, investment, and international development. Finalists will be invited to present their solutions at AfricaCom in November 2019 in Cape Town.

The winning solutions will receive cash prizes and/or will be considered for project development funding. Projects will be rolled-out in Rwanda as the pilot country, with the objective to scale them up to other countries in Africa.

With the recent signing of Africa’s intra-continental free trade agreement, the time is ripe for more than just conversations around inclusivity, it’s a time for action, and with the showcasing of the above three initiatives, AfricaCom hopes to be the catalyst for true and sustainable system change. All delegates and visitors are therefore encouraged to visit each of the above and make it their business to know more, and even, sign-up to be a changemaker.

Cheers!!!

Africa’s largest and most influential telecoms and technology event, AfricaCom, has opened visitor registrations for AfricaCom 2019. Taking place in Cape Town, South Africa between 12- 14 November, this year’s conference and exhibition will also introduce AfricaTech. As the telecommunications and technology sectors have grown and with it, the convergence of the ICT industry, so has the need for dedicated space and content focused on enterprise digital transformation, which AfricaTech addresses.

AfricaTech is the part of AfricaCom dedicated to IT and enterprise digital transformation. Designed to help attendees successfully navigate their digital transformation journeys, AfricaTech will take over the whole of CTICC 2 and include an exhibition area split into dedicated technology zones, as well as play host to tech-focused tracks and features including AI Africa, Fintech, IoT Africa and new for 2019, Data Centres Africa.

Tom Cuthell, Event Director at Informa, organizers of AfricaCom and AfricaTech, is enthusiastic about the possibilities for this year’s visitors and delegates, confirming that plans are well underway for a show-stopping event: “AfricaCom has grown significantly in the past few years. With that, we have seen a correlating expansion in the type of organization that exhibits and attends, especially as the telecoms and ICT industries converge.

“We have therefore geared AfricaCom 2019 towards this nexus and believe that we will offer unparalleled content, networking and business opportunities for everyone attending this year. It is an interesting time to be in telecoms and technology and we look forward once again to providing the platform to facilitate Africa’s digital growth.”

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Sep 2018 www.thelifesway.com #TheLifesWay #PhotoYatra #1800thPost

Hi Friends,

September is the start of the Spring season in Johannesburg, South Africa and it's the best season with pleasant weather and greenery all around. It's my 1800th post which I always wanted to cross since a long time and finally, it's happening today on 12th Sep 2019. 2019 has been a wonderful year so far and I am totally in love with myself and in 2018 - I had too much to work with those brands which didn't give me anything back for all my hard work and efforts. This year my decision to do only those brands which values me back is going ok, no so good as I wanted but I am happy with this decision as I continue to hold the same.

1. The Importance of Hygiene for your Mobile Device with #Whoosh! @Gammatek - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/09/the-importance-of-hygiene-for-your.html -  I have been using the product since it's launch and the way this thing cleans your phone is amazing. All the marks and dust just gets wiped off and the phone is again in mint condition literally.

2. Get Ready for SA’s First AI Four Camera Smartphone @HuaweiZA #HuaweiMate20lite - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/09/get-ready-for-sas-first-ai-four-camera.html - I won this phone at the Huawei P30 launch event and my wife started using the same but soon she didn't like the camera that much as compared to mine P20 so switched the same for mines. I gave this phone to my daughter who was struggling with my old HTC One M7 which was my 3rd HTC smartphone since Google G1. A cheap smartphone will remain cheap unless you are using the top version of the available model and I don't like using value for money smartphones. These smartphones are not my cup of tea.
A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Sep 2018 www.thelifesway.com #TheLifesWay #PhotoYatra #1800thPost
Aashish Rai with Reyansh at Walter Sisulu Botanical Garden, Johannesburg, South Africa
3. @Gammatek Puts Fun back into Collecting with Funko! #ComicConAfrica #rAgeExpo2018 - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/09/gammatek-puts-fun-back-into-collecting.html - Funko toys are gaining the ground just like fidget spinner was available with each and every kid on the planet two years back. Even companies were giving Funko Pops away as a part of launch events, online contests and everywhere you go, you will find Funko stalls. I have got 2 Funko pops and 2 Funko keyrings with me in my collection.

4. Off The Shelf And On Trend @SamsungSA #QLEDTV #2018QLEDtv - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/09/off-shelf-and-on-trend-samsungsa-qledtv.html - I love my old 2015 Samsung UHD TV since today so thinking of how great will be the QLED TV is beyond my imagination. I have not seen the actuals as I have stopped going to the electronics retail stores as I am going towards minimalism. Thanks to Samsung for bringing the latest tech to the market all the time.

5. @CanonRSA Revolutionises The Future of Photography and Filmmaking #EOSR #Liveforthestory - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/09/canonrsa-revolutionises-future-of.html - Canon launched their revolutionary product EOS R camera and I heard the new one is also in the making and soon will be launched to the world. I have not used this camera ever but I do love my Canon 77D camera and share all my shots with the world on my Instagram channels.

I have been a little bit lazy in posting on my social media channels but now I have decided that I will do what I love most and passionate about. Whatever anyone else has to say can say and I won't be bothered by anyone? They were not there during my struggles and wins, how can they tell me what to do when I never asked for their opinions and judgments.

Cheers!!!

@MSCcruisesSA Adds Second Ship to #SouthAfrica 2020/2021 Cruise Season #MSCMusica #MSCOpera

Hi Friends,

MSC Cruises – the number one cruise line in South Africa, Europe, South America, and the Gulf – has announced that the Company will be bringing two ships to South Africa’s shores for the 2020/2021 cruise season. This will mark the first time that two different class MSC Cruises’ ships (Lirica and Musica Class) will be deployed in the country simultaneously and will mean that 50,000 additional cruise passengers can discover why cruising in South Africa is booming.

From December 2020 to March 2021 MSC Opera, which will be homeported in Cape Town, will join MSC Musica homeported in Durban.

“Our decision to increase the number of ships for the South African cruise season in 2020/2021 is due to the significant growth in demand we have seen in our guest numbers over the past few years,” explains Ross Volk, MD for MSC Cruises South Africa. “Our most recent season saw a 25% increase in guests compared to the same period in 2017/2018. MSC Cruises has been bringing bigger and better ships to this country and enriching our itineraries as more South Africans are realizing that a cruise is an affordable, convenient and exciting holiday option.”
@MSCcruisesSA Adds Second Ship to #SouthAfrica 2020/2021 Cruise Season #MSCMusica #MSCOpera
An exciting new Southern African itinerary for cruisers
MSC Opera, which can host approximately 2,500 guests and completely refurbished in 2014 as part of the Company’s Renaissance Programme, will offer 22 cruises next season alongside MSC Musica. MSC Musica can cater to approximately 3,200 guests and will offer 40 cruises. The ships will alternate routes, providing South African cruisers with a wider choice of options to suit their holiday needs. This means that both Cape Town and Durban ports of embarkation will get to experience the leading cruise line’s elegant and diverse product offering and enjoy more cruise destinations and packages than ever before.

One highlight of the 2020/2021 cruise itinerary is MSC Cruises’ 14-day New Year cruise around Southern Africa. The cruise will depart from Durban on 26 December and will incorporate destinations including Portuguese Island; Nosy Be, Madagascar; followed by Port Victoria, Seychelles; and then Port Louis in Mauritius, returning to Durban on 9 January. What makes this cruise particularly special is that it will be the first time that Port Victoria has been included in the cruise offering from Durban outside of MSC Cruises’ Grand Voyage.

Guests wishing to experience the delights of an MSC Cruises holiday in the 2019/2020 season can book onto MSC Orchestra, who will make her maiden voyage to South Africa in November, offering three-, four- and five-night sailings around the South African coastline until April 2020.

Highlights of these itineraries include Pomene Bay in Mozambique – a marine safari experience complete with its own beach club – Portuguese Island, and Maputo.

Cruises as popular holiday ‘destinations’
Cruises are increasingly becoming an appealing holiday choice for South Africans as they offer an all-inclusive vacation – all food, accommodation, and most activities are included in the cruise fare. The diversity of the offering also appeals to tourists; local cruises can last from anywhere between three to 14 nights, including a variety of destinations, and cater for all types of holidaymakers and people of all ages.
@MSCcruisesSA Adds Second Ship to #SouthAfrica 2020/2021 Cruise Season #MSCMusica #MSCOpera
Continued investment in Africa’s tourism industry
MSC Cruises’ plan to bring two ships to South Africa in 2020 is part of the company’s commitment to investing in African tourism. This investment has included infrastructure development in Mozambique – a popular cruising destination for South Africans – and continued collaboration with the Namibian government, as Walvis Bay, is one of the ports that MSC Cruises sails to. There are also knock-on benefits for the tourist industries in the destinations that MSC Cruises sails to, which have been enhanced by increased passenger volumes.

MSC Cruises’ commitment to improving South Africa’s tourist infrastructure has been particularly noteworthy in its development of the Durban port terminal over the past few years. The most significant of these is its investment of over R200 million in the construction of the new world-class Durban Cruise Terminal as part of the KwaZulu Cruise Terminal Consortium (KTC).

“This multi-user terminal will make Durban an even more desirable destination for cruise ships from all over the world,” explains Volk. “It will substantially boost tourism numbers, create thousands of jobs and lead to supplier development. The construction of this state-of-the-art terminal is an exciting project that MSC Cruises is proud to be a part of. All the partners in the initiative will shortly sign off the final design of the terminal and groundbreaking is scheduled to begin in November this year. The design phase took a little longer than we anticipated, but it was vital that we got this right as we want the Durban Cruise Terminal to be an iconic destination. We hope the new port will be operational by January 2021.”
@MSCcruisesSA Adds Second Ship to #SouthAfrica 2020/2021 Cruise Season #MSCMusica #MSCOpera
Angelo Capurro, Global Executive Director at MSC Cruises, says, “South Africa is an important market for MSC Cruises and reflects our broader growing investment in cruising globally. We have committed to launching 13 next-generation ships between 2017 and 2027, which will bring our fleet total to 25 and see our passenger capacity more than triple. Our total investment in these ships amounts to approximately R200 billion.”
  • MSC Opera will sail from homeport Cape Town from December 2020 to March 2021.
  • MSC Musica will sail from homeport Durban from November 2020 to April 2021.
