Hi Friends, 

Samsung Mobiles in South Africa has been an activation powerhouse after the launch of its latest smartphones in various shopping malls around the country. It's getting bigger and better every year as their smartphones are growing better and bigger too. I have always been a participant of these activations as a general public since Samsung Galaxy S5 where I got a steel water bottle printed with my name way back in 2014 or so at Sandton City. 

For Galaxy S6/S7/S8, I didn't get a chance to attend these activations and deprived myself of awesome goodies given away.

Last year when they launched Samsung Galaxy S9, I was there and again got myself a cool plastic water bottle by participating in their activations and activities. They also give away a lot of earphones, speakers and even the latest smartphones. Later, at S9 event I won myself by taking a guided tour and answering the questions asked by putting my hand first to win myself Samsung Uflex wireless earphones.

This year, with the launch of S10, they made it even bigger with the prize being R10000 cash but unfortunately, I was not able to find time to participate in the guided tours. The list was always full for the whole day as the stakes were very high. I have seen people celebrating their wins and R10000 is not a small amount at all. It's like a full month's salary for many. Kudos to Samsung for bringing those smiles on many lucky ones.

Samsung Scoop Speakers
This year my only satisfaction was to get a Samsung Scoop Speakers by getting myself enrolled in Samsung Pay with FNB Credit/Cheque Card and paying R10 for the same. It's a great speaker and I will review the same too later. I really loved the design of the speaker and shared some photos on my Instagram channel too.

This year Samsung's New brand ambassador Cassper Nyovest also performed on one of the days in Sandton City Mall. The activation in gaming has all the top gamers around the country working on all the 2 weekends full days at all the malls. I am sure activation this year is one of the biggest ever in the history of Samsung South Africa.  Heartiest Congratulations to the Samsung for spending so much for the benefit of end consumers like myself and others in this Rainbow Nation!

Hi Friends,

March is a month where you will start to feel the excitement with MWC products starting to reach your respective countries and there will be local launch events happening. If you have good contacts and you are lucky then you will definitely have all the invites and you might be even flown to outside for the global launch events. I am still trying to be that lucky and I am now working towards making my presence felt in the international markets. I will be there by 2020!

I was not part of the first year's celebration party but many heartiest congratulations to the brand. I did so many posts for them in the last year. Let's see what the future holds for me and the brand. 

5.  @InspectaCarSA Launched 4 New Dealerships in A Single Day #17March2018 #Tshwane - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/03/inspectacarsa-launched-4-new.html - Inspecta Car launched their new dealerships and asked some bloggers and celebrities to visit on a day trip to all of them. I was not able to join the same because of the birth of my second child but it was a nice outing for those who joined. Cars are something which is everyone's necessity and for some, it's pride too. Inspecta Cars takes care of both the requirements for people of all age groups. 

I have so many things to do in my life but I am not getting disciplined and not feeling powerful enough to even open my laptop in the evenings these few months. It's the lowest amount of screen time ever in my life in this first quarter of 2019. Earlier I was thinking Dell laptop (9 years old) as the main reason which is very slow but then I am not even opening my office Dell Laptop (4 years old) to write or share stuff. I think I need to focus on my health and keep my energy levels high with proper sleep and food habits. Let's see what Q2 of 2019 is in store for me!

Back in 2017, the INSTAX SQUARE SQ10 introduced the concept of the hybrid instant camera, offering the ability to select your favorite images before printing and to edit images with various filters. The new INSTAX SQUARE SQ20 takes instant photography one step further - users can film a short video and then select the correct frame to print. Called Motion Mode, it allows one to shoot a video of up to 15 seconds long, use the dial on the back of the camera to select the frame that captures the moment best, and then print the SQUARE photo. The video is stored on a microSD™ card, which can be transferred onto a computer or smartphone at a later stage.

All photos and videos can be viewed and edited on the 2.7” (6.9 cm) TFT color LCD monitor on the back, and once ready, photos can be printed out in less than 12 seconds. The SQUARE film format provides the same 1x1 aspect ratio that’s so popular on social media sites.

The INSTAX SQUARE SQ20 further builds on the functionality of its older brother by being the first INSTAX camera to offer 4x digital zooming capabilities, creating beautiful landscapes while wide and stunning portraits when zoomed in. Filters for the best Images
Any hybrid INSTAX camera would not be complete without a number of different filters to make your prints uniquely special. The INSTAX SQUARE SQ20 is no different, with users able to add filter effects to shots from either video or stills.

For example, the Time Shift Collage can take four images in quick succession by pushing the shutter button only once. The resulting images are all arranged on one print in an equally spaced creative collage.

If you’re looking for a more of an action feel to your photos, try out the Sequence filter. This adds an interesting motion blur to images for either a dynamic effect or as a dreamlike motion to express emotion.

Users wanting to emphasize a specific object within a photo will find the Partial Colour filter highly effective. It allows the user to select a color (red, orange, yellow, green, blue or purple) to stand out, with the rest converted to monochrome.

These are not the only filters available since there are loads of different ones to add to help create a different look and feel to images. Moreover, the SQ20 also makes it possible for users to adjust the vignetting and brightness on all images before printing.

Images and video are saved to the device thanks to an included microSD™ card for users to copy to a smartphone or computer.

The new INSTAX is stylish, and just as easy to hold and as it is easy to shoot thanks to a shutter button on both sides of the device, making it perfect for righties or lefties. There are two color variations of the SQ20 to choose from, with matte black to suit any scene and style, and beige for an elegant and fashionable feel.

The Fujifilm INSTAX SQUARE SQ20 camera is available from stores countrywide or online and retails for a suggested R2 999, which includes a 16GB microSD card. Hi Friends,

February is the month of various celebrations as I got married long ago in this month, along with the month of valentine's day. I have been working hard and foolishly promoting a lot of brands and companies thinking that they will respect me and will want to work for me. But this thinking has really made my life miserable and dependent on others rather than myself taking charge and things in my hands. I was so sentimental about the same and now I am not doing it, I am feeling little lost on the number of posts and tweets but at least I am happy that I have plenty of time for myself and family.

1. Introducing 5 New Nokia Phones @NokiaMobile #HMD2018 #MWC18 #AndroidOne - Nokia launched their new smartphones to come back in the market but I am now aware how they are doing after a year of their product launch. I can see they are coming back to Pureview cameras with 48MP capabilities and in India, Alia Bhatt is their brand ambassador. I was not invited to the launch last year too and now also, I don't know whether these new phones will be launched here or not. 

2. Start With The End In Mind @SamsungSA #CustomerService #DigitalCommunication - Samsung has been the front runner in customer service and some of their products have reached Global No.1 status from time to time. I am a fan of their products and bought myself Samsung Note 8 (from Amazon India) and using the same here. It's more than a year now and I am still in love with my purchase.

3. @AcerAfrica Introduces The Synergy Partner Portal #AcerSynergy - Acer Africa keeps on going and doing what they do best and that is to bring out some of the gaming and other products which will take your breath away. I recently went and checked out the Thronos Gaming Chair and fell in love with the same immediately. I also loved their accessories and some of the other Predator gaming range of products. Let's see if they are able to beat the competition or not but I wish them all the very best. 

5. 16 Days To www.TheLifesWay.com 5th Birthday Celebrations #5YearsofTheLifesWay #27Dec2017 #Dreams - My story towards the 5th anniversary continued in Feb 2018 too as I took a lot of time to write the whole stuff. This year I did complete 6 Years on 27 Dec 2018 and finally, I made my rate card which I religiously sent to all the PR companies. Whether they will come back to me or not that's their choice and wish, but I am not going to do any free stuff anymore unless I want to. I don't need any pen drives and I don't eat any food at any of the launch events so I will do what I am paid to do! I don't want to waste mines and another person's time. 

Let's see what March has in store for me but overall Feb 2019 has been a great month for me from many perspectives.

@VolvoCar_SA to Impose 180 kph Speed Limit on all Cars to Highlight Dangers of #Speeding #StandForSafety

Volvo Cars, as a worldwide leader in safety, is sending a strong signal about the dangers of speeding and will limit the top speed on all its cars to 180 kph from 2020. The company’s vision, which aims for no one to be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo by 2020, is one of the most ambitious yet practical safety visions in the automotive industry. But realizing that technology alone will not get the speed all the way to zero, Volvo Cars is now broadening its scope to focus on the driver’s behavior.

Research by Volvo Cars has identified three remaining concerns for safety that constitute so-called ‘gaps’ in its ambition to completely end serious injuries and fatalities in its cars, with speeding being a very prominent one. “Volvo is a leader in safety: we always have been and we always will be,” said Håkan Samuelsson, president, and chief executive. "Because of our research, we know where the problem areas are when it comes to ending serious injuries and fatalities in our cars. And while a speed limit is not a cure-all, it’s worth doing if we can even save one life.”

Apart from limiting top speeds, the car manufacturing company is also investigating how a combination of smart speed control and geofencing technology could automatically limit speeds around schools and hospitals in the future.

“We want to start a conversation about whether car-makers have the right or maybe even an obligation to install technology in cars that changes their driver´s behavior. We want to tackle things like speeding, intoxication or distraction,” said Mr. Samuelsson. “We don’t have a firm answer to this question, but believe we should take leadership in the discussion and be a good example.”

The problem with speeding is that above certain speeds, in-car safety technology, and smart infrastructure design are no longer enough to avoid severe injuries and fatalities in the event of an accident. That is why speed limits are in place in most western countries, yet speeding remains ubiquitous (let us find another word) and is one of the most common reasons for fatalities on the roads. 

“Volvo Cars South Africa intends to support the brand’s international call to lobby other car manufacturers into a discussion around what can be done to end carnages on the roads. We want to establish whether car-makers have the right or maybe even an obligation to install technology in cars that change their driving behavior,” adds Greg Maruszewski, Managing Director of Volvo Cars South Africa.”

Volvo Cars will present ideas to tackle the problem areas of intoxication and distraction while driving at a special safety event in Sweden, which will be shared globally and strategically implemented by 2020.

Keep A Child Alive and Zoë-Life, in collaboration with the Qualcomm® Wireless Reach™ Initiative, today launched the KidzAlive Talk Tool App, an innovative mobile health solution that equips healthcare workers to provide age-appropriate HIV education to children and adolescents, as well as their primary caregivers.

Great strides have been made in the fight against HIV/AIDS globally, and while this is particularly true among adults in South Africa, social and structural barriers are leaving children and adolescence behind. Primary caregivers fear to get their children tested because of the possibility of having to disclose an HIV-positive result and the stigma of living with HIV. Healthcare workers are often overwhelmed by the difficult task of talking to young children who are at risk and who require counseling and testing - they express a lack of confidence in how to approach these conversations and often do not have child-friendly job aids to assist in the process.

Innovated by Zoë-Life, the KidzAlive Talk Tool App provides healthcare workers with the support they need to interact with children and their caregivers in an age-appropriate way. Healthcare workers use the app to engage children in the animated journey of a frog named Sibusiso as he goes for HIV testing, learns his positive status and comes to understand the importance of adhering to his treatment.

The app has built-in prompts to assist healthcare workers in guiding children through their own journey of HIV testing, learning their test results, overcoming stigma and learning about prevention and healthy living. The app, which is currently available in three languages, includes interactive games which keep the children focused and engaged and increases their retention of information.

In a recent pilot study of the KidzAlive Talk Tool App, 33 healthcare workers at private- and government-healthcare facilities in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal trialed the app following in-depth training. “After their training, healthcare workers experienced a 62 percent increase in confidence and competence in providing age-appropriate counseling and care for HIV-exposed and -infected children,” says Dr. Stephanie Thomas, Executive Director, at Zoë-Life. “Primary caregivers participating in the pilot study were more willing to give consent for their children to receive HIV testing and counseling.”
