Hi Friends, 

When you start committing to something then the universe also makes it possible for you and with the plan in hand shared in my earlier post, the week 1 ended and I came across several risks and lessons learned to take care of and also some of the ideas to be implemented. 

Week 1 Performance

First 8km done using Huawei Health App

Let's talk about the first risk that came to my mind was the time needed during the training weeks for the next 12 weeks when it will be more than 10kms then I will need at least 2 hours to finish 10km and it will be not easy after office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. But that can be taken care of starting as soon as after reaching home and eating dinner a little late.

Another risk will be attending launch events which generally happens on Thursday evenings and on those days when I get invited to some, I will have to change my schedule from Tuesday to Monday and Thursday to Wednesday or Friday but that won't happen so often but might happen in some weeks out of 12 weeks.

Lessons Learnt was that the shoes shall be worn at all times and you shall invest in nice ones made for walking. Currently, I am using New Balance Fresh foam 900 but don't think they will last till the race day as these are the ones I got long back when I came to South Africa from Newbalance event and its sides are cut on both the shoes. But I do have Puma shoes bought in London and another pair in South Africa which I will try too but they are not as comfortable as New Balance Fresh foam 900 is. 

Another lesson learned was that the playlist shall have all the funky songs that you like so as to give you power when the walking gets tough. Now I understood why there is a band playing during the marathons and other runs in South Africa. I am currently using Huawei P20 Pro smartphone and using the music player in the same to stream on my Body Glove Mini Earphones from Gammatek. They are really nice and lasts for around 2 hours 30 minutes but I have not reached that time limit at the moment may be in Week 3-4 onwards.

The best part about going on this program #Target25km is giving my will power a chance to get strong and also listening to my favorite songs or also watching or listening to Netflix TV series too. The best part about Netflix connection I have is that I can download some of the interesting series and can watch them while I am disconnected from wifi network or mobile data.

Another benefit is it gives me a lot of time to think about my future and introspect while I am walking about all the things happened in the past. I can definitely connect the dots and maybe it will bring something positive in me within the next 11 weeks left on this program. Sony has been my favorite brand and I still got so many products bought from Sony Electronics from iPod Dock to Earphones to Noise canceling headphones to eBook Reader. I even got the Sony's mp3 players along with cassette player called Walkman and also a CD player which is an upgraded version of the first walkman before the MP3 format was introduced. The quality of these products is such that just plug in some batteries and they still work great. My first earphone which I bought from my hard earned money was Sony and they were not high-end model, it was the basic model with little silver lining on the edges of the earplugs and it cost me R50-60 in India and lasted me some years and I gave them to my wife when I left for London. Now this time when my father came to Johannesburg in 2019, I saw those in his iPad pouch though only one side of the earphones is working that's the quality of Sony's Electronics products. 

Sony sent me their newly launched Bluetooth speaker during the holidays season in Dec 2018 for review and it was with me for a month or so. I even took the same to 2 of my trips in Dullstroom and Umkomaas, Durban. My son totally fell in love with the dancing lights on Sony's XBR31 speaker as he is a fan of dance and music since his birth till now when he is 15 months old. He totally adored the Bluetooth speaker and it was so easy to feed him food with these speakers on Party mode lights switched On. The Line light changes colors and the flashing strobe brings the disco feel and party vibes. I really didn't want to return the speakers and thought of buying the same if required.  

There is no necessity to introduce and explain the audio quality of Sony products because it's always great but as this is product review let's see what's hidden behind the mesh of the speakers. The device has 2 full range speakers of 48mm producing sound output to suit to your tastes with Live Sound and Extra Bass feature for those who want stronger drum beats. Sony says that the sound quality in these speakers is because of the Mica-reinforced cellular rigid and light-weight speakers. I am not a fan of bass too much but I really like the natural sound or rather voice to be clearly heard in some of the songs. Bass effects which Sony devices can produce are awesome and there is no other audio products brand which can do the same. 

Live Sound mode is a feature that brings the unique three-dimensional sound experience for all the listeners. It doesn't matter which side of the speakers you are sitting or standing, you will be indulged in the festival vibes kind of music and it definitely reaches a bigger wider audience. Also, if you many other compatible speakers of the Sony stable or even this one, then you can create something called as Wireless Party Chain where all speakers are synchronized in Music and lights so that everyone can experience the same beats of music. The capacity goes till 100 speakers but it needs some of the superstores to open up their boxes to install that kind of effort or some 100 consumers make a music festival night of their own collaborating via Facebook or any social media platform. 

The speaker only weights 890 grams and NFC pairs the same with any smartphone instantly else you can always use Bluetooth feature. The battery life as told on the specifications sheet is from 14-24 hours and when I used the same in Dullstroom, I was able to play with lights mode on for about 10-12 hours but never played the same in one day in a single go. The device can be charged using the micro USB cable from your old smartphones. There is no charger supplied with the box only the Micro-USB cable.  The charging takes at least 4-6 hours to fully charge the device. 

You can also charge your mobile phone using the extra USB terminal provided at the back of the device. Aux In cable can be used if you are streaming music from iPod shuffle or something which is not NFC or Bluetooth enabled. The Bluetooth speakers are waterproof with IP67 rating and dustproof and rustproof too which means they can take seawater splash too but don't drown it, please. The speaker volume and other controls are on the top of the device whereas Party mode and other features are on the back of the device. 

If you really want to bring a little bit of party vibe on your desk or home, these are the speakers to buy and they are going for around R2500 in the market. The unique feature will be the lights that run from one edge to the other making a full infinity circle. The strobe light flashes with the music beats and it's drool-worthy when your music is being played on Sony SRS-XB31 Bluetooth speaker. Go for it!

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - May 2018 www.thelifesway.com #TheLifesWay

Hi Friends, 

May 2018 saw the maximum number of blog posts for 2018 on The Life's Way with 61 in a single month which was last done in the month of April 2016 with 62 blog posts. But this year I am taking it slow and steady and not doing anything for anyone for free. If I am getting something from the brands, then only I am doing the posts else I will write my own blog posts on whatever topic I love to write on. I have been a fool to do all those posts for all the brands which will never call me to their launch events or send me anything on any of the occasions to keep and I am no longer interested in collecting stuff which I don't want like pen drives and cheap unbranded headphones.

Simple Travel Tips to Make Roadtrips More Fun @Hasbro #GrabAndGo #Games - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/05/simple-travel-tips-to-make-roadtrips_2.html - Hasbro has been a consistent partner for The Life's Way as it continues to send their latest games for my daughter and she loved this Grab and Go series too. Hasbro sent Jail goodies (Monopoly Board Game) including a cheap metal handcuff which my daughter used to held my father's hands and it didn't open as easy as it should and she put it tightly which caused a lot of stress in the family. 

2. Product Review - @XPG_Global EMIX I30 #WiredEarphones #Gaming Headset @AdataTechnology - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/05/product-review-xpgglobal-emix-i30_23.html - Adata Technology launched their XPG EMIX I30 3D earphones and I got the opportunity to review and keep the same and I totally fell in love with the same. I am still using them when I want to hear something good and in my own zone. Thanks to the brand for the same.

Russo brothers have been able to do that and break all the records with the second part. Go watch it if you have not!

It was a great run and I really shared all my life stories which happened with me due to this blog. I am really grateful to The Life's Way for everything it keeps giving me.

Hi Friends, 

I have always wanted to be fully physically fit but never took any actions to become one or remain focussed after doing it for a day or two. When MTN Walk the Talk sent me a secret survey to ask about the 25kms and my reactions to the same, I was very much in favor of the same due to this year being 25 Years of Democracy in South Africa. I really thought for a while before registering myself for the 25 km race on 28th July 2019. I have done 15kms last year on 22nd July 2018 and the day was my birthday too but nothing before and after that. 

I took my faith in myself to the next level and registered myself for the 25km race and also enrolled for the SA Park and Ride because I am sure I won't be able to walk to the parking and drive the car myself. 

I am out of luck on my Smartphone watch as it's on life's end which I got as a gift from my wife some 3 years back. I am trying to capture my weekly progress using @Huawei Health App on my Huawei P20 Pro smartphone and trying to win myself a Huawei Watch GT. 

Here is the plan to be ready for 28th July 2019 and the logic behind all the 12 weeks to the same is - 

1. Phase 1 - Build stamina to walk 15 km in a single go
2. Phase 2 - Build stamina to walk 20 km in a single go
3. Phase 3 - Build stamina to walk 25 km in a single go
4. Each Phase is 4 weeks long
5. Every Tuesday and Thursday will be my days to do a practice walk
6. Every Saturday will be target walk which needs to be completed in one go
7. There are some exceptions in the last week when Thursday plan is moved to Friday

These are the plans created thinking of a perfect world and happy path scenario's but I am looking at trying to match the same with real-world performance and writing some blog posts on the same.

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Apr 2018 www.thelifesway.com #TheLifesWay

Hi Friends, 

April last year was a month full of new product launches and amazing new events to attend and visit too. Avengers was the talk of the season and Game of Thrones was being missed in April 2018. This year though is one of the best as Game of Thrones is back with its last run along with Avengers: Endgame breaking all movies records along with some great sporting events in sight and IPL 2019 in full run along with Rand Show 2019 as well as Indian Elections to choose the new Prime Minister. This month was kind of big for me as I won myself my first Instax Camera at their SQ20 launch event social media challenge.

Avengers: Infinity War Breaks Records #SouthAfrica @Disney @Marvel #AvengersInfinityWar - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/04/avengers-infinity-war-breaks-records.html - Avengers Infinity War an awesome watch at the Mall of Africa, though the pizza at Pizza Hut was very bad and uncooked. It kept me dizzy throughout the movie that day with an upset stomach even though I just had 2 pieces out of 8 in the large pizza. What I have observed over the year since that time, Pizza Hut is not consistent in their pizza making, sometimes it's too good and sometimes it's pathetic. It happens alternately and I don't know whether I shall keep going there or change to some other pizza makers. 

2. @HuaweiZA Reveals The Future of Smartphone AI Photography #HuaweiP20pro #SeeMooore - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/04/huaweiza-reveals-future-of-smartphone.html - Huawei makes awesome camera smartphones and I have been a fan since the time I saw P8 but as it happens, I only got to use the P20 Pro as my day to day smartphone. This phone is amazing and I am totally in love with the same. Even Huawei recognized me as their Top Photographer for January 2019. 3. Your License To @rAgeExpo Goes on Sale Soon #rAgeExpo2018 - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/04/your-license-to-rageexpo-goes-on-sale.html - rAge Expo is something which I love to visit since the first year I came to Johannesburg in 2013. Last year in 2018, I won myself an MSI Gaming Keyboard which came along with Lucky Mascot Toy too. I really loved the same and at the event, I got Pixel Pals from @ChaniZA in one of her giveaways at the show. What I have observed is that you shall visit the show on both the first day and the last day for sure. 

4. 12 Days To www.TheLifesWay.com 5th Birthday Celebrations #5YearsofTheLifesWay #27Dec2017 #Pride - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/04/12-days-to-wwwthelifeswaycom-5th.html - It shows how difficult is to write your own book and how long does it take to tell a story, so if George R Martin is taking time to release his next novel in 'A song of Fire and Ice' series it's understandable. My 30 days post was still left with 11 posts in the month of April 2018 and I don't think I will ever take this series ever again till I am a regular writer of the blog posts. I am working on the same now with one step at a time or one post at a time. 

5. @DEFY_SA Believes In Better For #SouthAfrica #FutureLegends #FCBarcelona - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/04/defysa-believes-in-better-for.html - Defy launched their new products and new association with Football Club Barcelone to choose some players out of South Africa and train them too. I am not aware of the final participants and where are they now. All these programs are good for the community to give them hope but shall take the person to a certain stage in life. 

Let's see who wins the elections in India and in South Africa. The world will book their seats for Cricket World Cup 2019 in England and let's see how India and South Africa performs this time and I sincerely hope one of them will win the same.
