Animation of Air Show @Rand_Show #Johannesburg #SouthAfrica

Hi Friends,

The whole journey of Air Show is compiled in this gif using all the photographs and it happens annually at Rand Show in Johannesburg, South Africa. It's an event where political parties set up their stalls as well as all motor vehicles displays their new cars and motorcycles etc. There is even a bid and buy kind of auction for cars at the event.
Animation of Air Show @Rand_Show #Johannesburg #SouthAfrica
Various vehicles belonging to the Military and Air Force are also displayed and you can actually touch them and sit inside too. There are plenty of popup stores selling clothes to perfumes and the list is long. One day is not sufficient to visit all the stalls and do all the activities offered in this show. Go check it out in 2021!

Namaste!!!

Air Show @Rand_Show #Joburg #SA #PhotoYatra #TheLifesWayCaptures

Hi Friends,

Rand Show is one of the annual events in Johannesburg, South Africa which goes on for at least 2 weekends and weekdays in between which means around 9 days in total. The tickets are fully booked online before the start of the show as the show offers the best of South Africa under the multiple roofs of Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec.
Air Show @Rand_Show #Joburg #SA #PhotoYatra #TheLifesWayCaptures
The place is too big to be walked in a single day and that's why people take a weekend ticket or start as early as possible when the gates open on weekends. The place is full and there are lines everywhere as it offers plenty of activities, food stalls, African arts and crafts, and various other popup shops from around the world. The parking is huge and you have to park your car right in front of the entrance gates which is showcased on your tickets else you won't be able to find your vehicle after the closing time of the show.

Also, Rand show offers various kinds of Air Shows as per the schedule performed by various divisions of the Military and Air Force of South Africa. This is a pleasant sight where you will see various military tanks, vehicles, aircraft where you can enter and take photos too. The forces will also explain the functionality of each and every vehicle in detail.
Air Show @Rand_Show #Joburg #SA #PhotoYatra #TheLifesWayCaptures
The airshow is one of the best highlights of this big festival and can be watched from the open-air auditorium easily and also from any place you are standing around the same. I could take some shots using Canon 77D - 18-125mm USM lens at the event in 2019. I hope you will like them as I totally loved the aircraft with the wings design and South African flag on the tails.
Air Show @Rand_Show #Joburg #SA #PhotoYatra #TheLifesWayCaptures
The show took me to my memories of my class XI and XII when I used to study in Kendriya Vidyalaya in Air Force Station, Sirsa and we used to see MIGs flying and sometimes performing for us especially once a year or so.

Sawubona!

The Expo Industry in #SouthAfrica: An Insider’s View By Mr. Craig Newman, CEO, Johannesburg Expo Centre

Hi Friends,

From MamaMagic to the Vodacom rAge Expo and HuntEx to SA Fashion Week, there are exhibitions for so many different niches in South Africa every year. And for the most part, the exhibition industry is showing no signs of slowing down.

One of the most recent events, Vodacom rAge, is a perfect example of the extent to which likeminded people will turn out in support of an event that plays to their unique interests.

Several exhibitors reported that they did so well, they had run out of stock by day three of the event.

Vodacom rAge caters to a very specific niche – the toys, gaming, sci-fi, and fantasy market. According to PR Newswire, the global toys and games market is expected to expand at a Compound Annual Growth rate (CAGR) of 4.6% between now and 2025.

That’s just one example of a powerful niche market that’s gaining ground year-on-year.

Exhibitions are focused on marketing opportunities that bring your target market to you and allow you to network with your audience for ongoing sales. They’re fostering niche pocket economies everywhere.

Expo trends now
Other niches are also on the rise, and the exhibition circuit is a great opportunity to capitalize on consumer interest, even in a struggling economy.

It’s not just the big ones that are doing well. Smaller-scale exhibitions are also seeing an increase in attendance. For example, broadcasting, entertainment and communications technology expo, Mediatech Africa, attracted 7525 visitors in July this year – a six-percent increase over last year, with 701 brands on display and 148 exhibiting companies.

South Africans love a good exhibition. We’re a culture of hobbyists and weekend project collectors who love to turn up for a day out at an expo centre to consult the experts who know about the things we like, buy the latest and greatest goods and enjoy fine fare from food trucks, donut stands, and boerewors roll sellers.

Having attended many varying exhibitions myself, as an industry professional and exhibition enthusiast, I can confidently say that we’re in a business that’s growing every year. Trade shows, conferences, and exhibitions contribute to the local economy, boost tourism and enhance South Africa’s GDP.

Exhibitions truly tap into the South African entrepreneurial spirit. An article published by Fin24 in 2018 states that visiting business delegates – many of them here for conferences or exhibitions – contribute around R115bn to our GDP annually.

The feelgood factor
The common denominator, whether you’re at Africa Health, Discop Africa or Vodacom rAge, for the most part, is the positive energy you encounter as you wander between the stands and showpieces at most South African expos and shows.

The Rand Show in April this year completely changed lives with a local entrepreneur making a whopping sale of over R500 000. And it’s a testament to the fact that destination shows can provide a captive audience for exhibitors. In this case, it was the Rand Show’s dedicated SMME section, activated by the South African Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development. And I’m sure we can expect many more stories like this one to come.

What does the future hold?
New tools and technology are making the exhibition business more exciting than ever before. Dedicated event management software is making it easier for organizers and exhibitors to plan their efforts to the letter, and electronic booking or ticketing solutions have done away with a human error when it comes to letting people in and out.

Mobile technology is becoming more and more prevalent every year, with just about every big expo having its own dedicated app to help guests navigate their event and stay up to date with any panels, showstoppers or press events that are scheduled during an expo.

Digital design and the advent of technologies such as 3D printing have made stands easier to create, set up and strike, not to mention more appealing to the eye than ever before. And if you’re not that keen on the crowds, who knows? There may be more Virtual Reality expo experiences coming up sooner rather than later.

At the time of writing this, having seen the faces of the people in the crowds at the likes of the Rand Show, Vodacom rAge, the Design Indaba and more, exhibitions are still putting smiles on faces. And every year, they just get bigger and more advanced. Stay tuned for 2020’s exhibition circuit. It’s going to be the most impressive yet.

Cheers!!!

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Apr 2018 www.thelifesway.com #TheLifesWay

Hi Friends,

April last year was a month full of new product launches and amazing new events to attend and visit too. Avengers was the talk of the season and Game of Thrones was being missed in April 2018. This year though is one of the best as Game of Thrones is back with its last run along with Avengers: Endgame breaking all movies records along with some great sporting events in sight and IPL 2019 in full run along with Rand Show 2019 as well as Indian Elections to choose the new Prime Minister. This month was kind of big for me as I won myself my first Instax Camera at their SQ20 launch event social media challenge.

1. Avengers: Infinity War Breaks Records #SouthAfrica @Disney @Marvel #AvengersInfinityWar - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/04/avengers-infinity-war-breaks-records.html - Avengers Infinity War an awesome watch at the Mall of Africa, though the pizza at Pizza Hut was very bad and uncooked. It kept me dizzy throughout the movie that day with an upset stomach even though I just had 2 pieces out of 8 in the large pizza. What I have observed over the year since that time, Pizza Hut is not consistent in their pizza making, sometimes it's too good and sometimes it's pathetic. It happens alternately and I don't know whether I shall keep going there or change to some other pizza makers.

2. @HuaweiZA Reveals The Future of Smartphone AI Photography #HuaweiP20pro #SeeMooore - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/04/huaweiza-reveals-future-of-smartphone.html - Huawei makes awesome camera smartphones and I have been a fan since the time I saw P8 but as it happens, I only got to use the P20 Pro as my day to day smartphone. This phone is amazing and I am totally in love with the same. Even Huawei recognized me as their Top Photographer for January 2019. Check out some of the photographs taken using the same on my Instagram channel @araijain
A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Apr 2018 www.thelifesway.com #TheLifesWay
3. Your License To @rAgeExpo Goes on Sale Soon #rAgeExpo2018 - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/04/your-license-to-rageexpo-goes-on-sale.html - rAge Expo is something which I love to visit since the first year I came to Johannesburg in 2013. Last year in 2018, I won myself an MSI Gaming Keyboard which came along with Lucky Mascot Toy too. I really loved the same and at the event, I got Pixel Pals from @ChaniZA in one of her giveaways at the show. What I have observed is that you shall visit the show on both the first day and the last day for sure.

4. 12 Days To www.TheLifesWay.com 5th Birthday Celebrations #5YearsofTheLifesWay #27Dec2017 #Pride - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/04/12-days-to-wwwthelifeswaycom-5th.html - It shows how difficult is to write your own book and how long does it take to tell a story, so if George R Martin is taking time to release his next novel in 'A song of Fire and Ice' series it's understandable. My 30 days post was still left with 11 posts in the month of April 2018 and I don't think I will ever take this series ever again till I am a regular writer of the blog posts. I am working on the same now with one step at a time or one post at a time.

5. @DEFY_SA Believes In Better For #SouthAfrica #FutureLegends #FCBarcelona - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/04/defysa-believes-in-better-for.html - Defy launched their new products and new association with Football Club Barcelone to choose some players out of South Africa and train them too. I am not aware of the final participants and where are they now. All these programs are good for the community to give them hope but shall take the person to a certain stage in life.

Let's see who wins the elections in India and in South Africa. The world will book their seats for Cricket World Cup 2019 in England and let's see how India and South Africa performs this time and I sincerely hope one of them will win the same.

Cheers!!!
