Stationery Review 21: Bookmark Aluminum Ruler (10cm & 13 cm) for ZAR 14 each

Hi Guys,

I bought these Bookmark Aluminum Rulers from Mellows Stationery Shop, F09 in China Mall, Johannesburg for ZAR 14 each (US 75 cents).

I really loved the design and build quality. These are really good quality products from the China Mall. I will be using them in the books that I am reading this year as a physical copy. Generally, I read or listen to all the selected books on Kindle or Audible versions.

The ruler aspect is really great for your Bullet journals as well. Check them out as they come in these two versions with the same price range.

New Year Resolutions - Week 44 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay

 Hi Guys,

Week 44 - Sat 29 Oct 2022 - Fri 04 Nov 2022

I read this quote from Tony Robbins - Where focus goes, energy flows! This means that we need to build the capability to stay in focus and out of focus on demand. If any work needs our undivided attention, we should have the power to become focussed as per demand on our own wish rather than procrastinating etc. I wish for this kind of superpower for myself all the time.

1. Daily Walking - Week 44 saw me complete the 800 kilometres mark leaving me with 200 kilometres to cover in the last 2 months of 2022. I completed a total of 32.73 km which is the highest I have done in a week.

2. Books/Audiobooks - I completed the Perfect Murder book by Shakuntala Devi in a span of a day or two and was totally glued to the book. Buy the same from Amazon. I have completed a lot of new books this year using the audiobooks from Audible that save your progress and it's easy to use. Their library is too big to last a lifetime. Check them out!

3. Review Devices - I received the Denon Earphones TWS Bluetooth for review which will go back to the company after the end of the review cycle. This will be the first time I will send back the in-ear earphones though the bigger wireless headphones keep going back to the companies. It was the first time so I have to mention this once-in-a-lifetime event.

4. YouTube Partner Program - I am waiting for the Google Adsense PIN to arrive so that I can claim my first ever 100 USD from YPP. This is the best feeling ever and this will be my 3rd PIN as the other two got lost. It took me around 4 months to reach this mark and I am grateful to everyone for your views. Also, if I analyze I got 80% of this amount from a single video that is for the app named CallApp. Check it out - https://youtu.be/2THj-a2_KjA

5. Healthy Living - The doctor's visit told me about the deficiency of Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D along with a significant amount of Iron missing in my body. That was the reason why I was not able to work in optimum conditions. I am taking the multivitamins now focussing on these vitamins along with some injections regularly now. It's been an eye-opener for me as I never cared about my vitamin intake.

I am sure my focus will be to cover as many kilometres as possible during the month of Nov-22 as I don't want to put it on the holiday season in Dec-22. Let's hope for the best in Nov-22. Thanks!!!

Cheers!!!

New Year Resolutions - Week 33 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay

Hi Friends,

I think I am telling more about the achievement and less about failures but there is always an internal struggle that keeps happening with something or the other part of your life for which you are not happy. I am never happy about the fact that despite working hard on The Life's Way - this has not gotten the recognition it wanted and still I am struggling to make it all work. Definitely, there is something not done right from my end and I want you guys to tell me what I am not doing correctly? Give me your comments on any platforms you are following me on or else send me an email from the bottom of the page.

Week 33 - Sat 13 Aug 2022 - Fri 19 Aug 2022

1. Thank You - There was a complete halt of this habit in the month of August, especially during the previous week and I could only do 6000 for the whole week. I think I left the counter someplace and couldn't find the same also for many days. Anyways, I am sure I will meet the yearly goal of 1 Million for sure. It's always great to look at the big picture you are working towards and the small problems build your confidence to move forward for sure. This week I completed the 100k from the counter of 74000 and took it to 42000 again at the end of 19-Aug-22.

2. Goodies - YouTube Creator 360 event goodies finally reached my home address and I was extremely happy to receive something with my channel name on the jacket they sent. It's in YouTube colours and you can check out the video here. I also worked on creating YouTube thumbnails for already posted videos and then sharing the tweets. YouTube thumbnail creation is an added task in itself and there should be a dedicated day for the same. I am using the Canva platform to create the same.
3. Skillshare - I bought an annual subscription to Skillshare for USD 24 based on the notion class of Ali Abdaal and I am now spending a lot of money on books and courses to extend my knowledge further. Since YouTube monetization is enabled I am spending a lot of money on things that I always wanted even without a single cent coming into reality towards me. YouTube I am sure sends money at a certain interval or threshold and I have not reached the same yet and am still pending some address verification from my side as well.

4. Walking - I am constantly losing out on the weekly targets against the 660 kilometres, I could only reach 645 kilometres. There is a gap of 15 kilometres which I can now take into consideration as 1 week's leave and can reset the same too but let's carry on and see if the gap broadens then we can do the same. This is because I have a target of 1000 kilometres in 52 weeks so we have 2 weeks of furloughs available. I am using the Huawei Watch GT 2e for tracking purposes.

5. Launch Events - I was invited to the biggest launch in terms of new products at Xperience Huawei 2022 launch event that happened at Sandton Convention Centre and the goodies received were a luxurious backpack which you can watch here. I still have to share the goodies received at the Samsung launch event and I will do so soon in the upcoming videos. I am doing all these videos for you so that you guys what goes into these events and what do you get out of it in case you are interested in becoming a blogger or YouTuber in the future? Your experience might be different in case you are top of the class but general category admissions will be like what I am showcasing to you.
6. Books and Audiobooks - I completed one book by Sandeep Krishnan called Mind of a Consultant and picked up his other book named Making of a CEO. The mind of a consultant is a definite read for all management graduates and those who are not. This brings back all the knowledge that was acquired during the long hours in the MBA school I attended and that you also wish to attend. You shall definitely listen to the same on Audible or buy a book.

The struggle is always there but these books and audiobooks help you gain perspective and things your mind has put on hold and your memory is also not serving you. Books are the only way you can gain back your confidence to speak and putting those skills learned from books can help you grow in any area you want. My focus is on the Growth Mindset and Execution for the rest of the year.

Cheers!!!

New Year Resolutions - Week 30 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay

Hi Friends,

Week 30 was a week where I completed a lot of stuff which have been pending on me from submitting the documents to the school for Grade 8 to various other things too. Mom and Dad too left for the United States and I also visited the Radhey Shyam Temple in Marlboro after a long gap of time.

Week 30 - Sat 23 Jul 2022 - Fri 29 Jul 2022

1. Walking - I completed the 20 kilometres for the week which took the total kilometres to 592 by the end of 29th July 2022. This has been the longest I have ever achieved in a single year. Consistency is the key guys to achieving feats that you don't think you can earlier.

2. Entertainment - I received the Disney+ annual membership plan from the Disney Africa team. I immediately login and created some profiles for the family. I am loving the new content which I was not watching earlier. I immediately started watching the first season of Da Vinci's Demons and finished it in a single sitting despite it running at 1x speed. My son is loving the Spiderman content which includes some new shorts, all movies and other cartoons on the platform. Thanks, Disney Africa! I only find that there should be a playback speed which needs to be added so that the content can be played at a faster speed of 1.25, 1.5,1.75 and 2.
New Year Resolutions - Week 30 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay
3. Books/Audiobooks - I completed The Millionaire Fastlane: Crack the Code to Wealth and Live Rich for a Lifetime! by M. J. DeMarco which took me a lot of time as this is one of the best ones if you want to change your money and growth mindset. You can check it on Audible by Amazon. I started listening to another interesting one called The Mind of a Consultant by Sandeep K. Krishnan which is also available on Audible here. It definitely reminded me of all the MBA days when I used to live those principles sincerely to imbibe them in myself. Over the years, I have gained experience but the edge was getting blunt instead of keeping it sharp. I got the feeling that all these books on Kindle and audiobooks from Audible are taking me to the best of my ability.

4. Thank You - I moved the counter to zero and took it towards 30500 by the end of the week. I took a break from this activity in the previous weeks and still need to find my love for doing the same. I am not feeling complete as if I am looking for something and not happy much despite doing everything I want to do in my life. Feeling content should be the main priority in our life.

5. YouTube Monetisation - This week I broke my own records of the highest one-day revenue from USD 1.76 to 1.89 to 2.45 to 3.28 dollars on 28-Jul-22. This has been my highest so far even today for a single-day revenue. I didn't do any promotions and any other push, I think this may be because of the good CPM etc on some of the videos.

Getting YouTube monetised and making the best out of it is my goal these days. I have been focused on trying out various kinds of content to get my first viral video. Once a viral video happens then there will be a good path for the future content and revenue stream too. New Year Resolution #5 - 25 Books To Read & Listen To In 2022 #TheLifesWay

Hi Friends,

I already wrote about the habit to inculcate reading books and magazines into your daily life as this is one of the ways to learn these days and has been a truth always. I can still recount that Warren Buffet read all the books on finance and stock markets from his local library if I can remember correctly at a very young age.

In this digital age where you have a kindle, iPad, Audible and other various modes to read books and magazines which medium is great always remains a question to ask and consider? I can certainly put down my viewpoints as I thought over the years and have been using all these mediums from time to time on a daily basis.

I have a Kindle Keyboard which one of my friends bought in the USA for me and I paid him in Rupees and I got it in 2012 and since then I have been using it on a weekly basis at least. I really love that this can convert any book into an audio translator using a built-in text to audio converter. I still feel that the eyes don't get hurt while reading on Kindle and I am using software named Calibre - eBook Management to manage all the books on the same.

Secondly, coming to the iPad 3 I have which has a great retina display as compared to my earlier iPad mini used by my dad is not working anymore and is being replaced by iPad 8 by my brother on their trip to the USA last year. I love the kindle app on the same and because it has a backlit screen, you can read it during your bedtime too. Also reading news articles or magazines is really good due to the bigger screen size and touch panel makes it easy to move between the pages. Zooming in and out is also really easy and you can finish the magazines so fast using your iPad.

Audible is an Amazon app for listening to a big list of audiobooks which comes at a premium membership where you need to pay some monthly subscription and receive 1-2 books per month for free and the rest then you can buy as per the rates. This is an app that saves your listening history and gives you badges for every minute of listening to keep you motivated. The audible app is really nice and I totally love it.
New Year Resolution #5 - 25 Books To Read & Listen To In 2022 #TheLifesWay
Coming to my personal list of books that I plan to read for the first time will be shared here as well as some of the books I want to re-read again this year.

1. Do Epic Shit - Ankur Warikoo (Reading - Wk-2)
2. One Minute Millionaire - Mark Victor Hansen & Robert Allen (Re-reading in Wk1-2)
3. Retire Rich: Invest Rs. 40 a Day - P V Subramanyam (Reading in Wk-2)
4. Keep Going/Show Your Work - Austin Kleon

Some of the audiobooks I plan to listen to

1. Yes My Accent is Real - Kunal Nayyar (Completed in Wk-1)
2. The Psychology of Money - Morgan Housel (Completed in Wk-2)

3. Shoe Dog - Phil Knight (Planned for Wk-3)
4. The Productivity Project - Chris Bailey (Listening in Wk-2-3)

I will keep on adding to the list as I find more and more books to commit to. It's like a continuous decision to find the right ones and find the time to read them too. So far I have observed I can listen to some of the books and complete them during my daily walks. I am sure my audiobooks list will be around 20+ and other books will be around 5. I am committed to reading much more than that but let's break them week by week. The first week I completed a book by Kunal Nayyar and the second week of the year I will be finishing The Psychology of Money which is a really nice book.

Though the count of books seems to be really small as compared to the productivity gurus on Youtube saying 100s of books in a year or so what we need to realize is that my only task is not to read books. We have jobs, kids, family, our own entertainment, rest and sleep which gives us some time to keep up with books. Hence, I will only target to read books I really wanted to pick up consciously and go through and can drop them too if I am not deriving any value out of them. It's all about your return of investment of your personal time to books. I recently wrote another post on inculcating reading habits from the start which my father did in us. My brother is much more of a voracious reader and reads all kinds of topics as compared to me to a limited set of books. He even has a policy in his company to gift every employee a Kindle of his own choice as well as Kindle Books fund to buy books from his company's expenditures. I hope you will have your own book's goals if not, you should definitely have some at least 10 in a year or 12 in total - 1 per month. Happy Reading!

Cheers!!!
