#UberEats Unveils South Africa's Favourite Pancake Toppings @Uber_RSA #1900thBlogPost

With Pancake Tuesday tomorrow, what better time to uncover the most popular topping our locals request on a firm South African favorite, pancakes! It's been a battle for the ages on whether pancakes should be served sweet, with a sprinkle of sugar or cinnamon, or savoury, loaded with chilli and cheese? 

Locals have decided, and the pancake has flipped in flavor (see what we did there) of one side, as Uber Eats releases its most popular pancake toppings by South Africans! 

The most popular toppings on pancakes by local eaters are: 

1. Onions
2. Cream
3. Sugar
4. Chocolate
5. Nutella
6. Syrup
7. Banana
8. Ice Cream
9. Cheese
10. Strawberry

While savoury wins, 8 out of the top ten toppings is sweet, so the better question is, are the onions caramelized? No one knows, but what we can confirm is that the Uber Eats app, saw an increase of over 440% in orders of pancakes from 2017 to just last year! Other region's favorite toppings include: 

• Sweden - Whipped Cream
• France - Nutella
• UK - Sausage
• Belgium - Chocolate

February is the month of Love and Marriage anniversary for me. I got married on 11th Feb and it's been 12 years since we got together. People celebrate Valentine's Day with full enthusiasm and we too celebrated our anniversary this year with a trip to Dubai, UAE on our annual break. This was my first International flight in many years as I only took a Garden Route flights earlier in 2019.

South African Students Go Global with @SamsungSA and @VegaSchool

Samsung has collaborated with Vega Design School on a competition that gives young South African designers the opportunity to showcase their impressive design skills. The students were invited to create content that will be used as Samsung Galaxy themes that will be loaded on to the Galaxy Store. The winners, Dean Sartor, Kyle Sartor, Mohapi Polo and Liam Cuffley, will now have their artwork made available to an international audience. The aim of the Design Jam competition is to produce unique artwork designed by the creative vision of young Africans.

“We were proud to see the level of work submitted by the winning students and look forward to showcasing their work on a global stage. We believe that the country is rich in natural talent and look forward to promoting these new pioneers and mavericks. Their skills echo our own pursuit of excellence – a design that brings the world to life in innovative ways, “says Cambridge Mokanyane, Chief Marketing Officer at Samsung South Africa.

The winners were selected based on an online poll by fellow students as well as the public. Vega selected their second-year students as the first group of designers to drive this initiative. Over 400 students across Vega’s 4 campuses (Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, and Durban) were involved in the Design Jam competition that took place in 2019. The students worked in groups consisting of 3 to 4 people to design a full theme consisting of wallpapers, icons and Always On displays.

The Vega students had an open-ended brief allowing them to create a “local is lekker” approach to themes over a variety of categories: sports, cars, lifestyle, nature, monuments and also illustrative designs. Students were encouraged to use a variety of crafting skills and tools such as photography, traditional and digital illustration and/or typography. The winning designed themes will be available on all Samsung devices ranging from entry-level to premium including the A-Series, S-Series and Note devices.

Hi Friends,

January 2019 was the time when my blog completed 6 years and I made some resolutions at the start of the year. I followed them sincerely and completed many of them. This year January was the time to meet my family and friends in India as I traveled after a gap of 3 years. My MBA friends made it a point to book an Airbnb in New Delhi and relive the moments with each other. It was one of the most relaxing meets of the decade when all of us met after 13 long years under a single roof. Really grateful to all of them.

I am a big fan of earphones and headphones and I am attracted to them a lot. Whenever a new one is launched in the market, my first reaction is to have them or at least try them out. I am hooked to the new Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus but I have not even seen the first version of the same.

S Pen is something that can make your bullet journaling fun on the smartphone.

I don't want to discontinue this series and may introduce some new series this year. I am focussed on the same and I am also doing what I was not doing earlier - reading books and listening to audiobooks in 2020.

5. #Technology and #Children - Can They Go Hand in Hand? #Parenting #6YearsofTheLifesWay - Kids are glued to the mobile and TV screens all the time and I have a lot of old devices that are available to them. Though I don't share my current devices with them at all and my family tries to only use the screen time to see the necessary shows and movies and nothing else. Reyansh sees the nursery poems whenever he is eating food.

I hope 2020 to be a year that will bring me a lot of execution of ideas rather than waiting and procrastinating them for the next years. I plan to start working on my Youtube channel and did some initial study on my holidays in India. I am ready and I can't wait anymore to learn new things in life. Also this year I will turn 40 and the time to research ends and now it's time to implement and discover new strengths.
