New Year Resolutions - Week 23 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay

Hi Friends,

Week 23 was one of the best ones as my parents were here in Johannesburg along with my brother too and we went to see the African Wildlife in Kruger National Park. It was a 2 nights stay at Satara Rest Camp and 2 nights at Skukuza Rest Camp. We took the comfortable Sunset Safari twice and an early morning Safari. It was really nice and some of the days it was too cold too. We had the best sightings ever seeing the Lion on all 3 days and Lioness and Cubs with their number going as high as 13 in one batch.

Week 23 - Sat 04 Jun 2022 - Fri 10 Jun 2022

1. Kruger National Park - I took holidays for the first 4 days of the week and came back on Thursday and returned back to work on Friday. The sighting at Kruger National Park was amazing as the park was not flooded with tourists but there were a lot of European tourists in the park.

2. Walking - No walking was performed as the whole day used to go in our car and then rest on the Safari vans. Will try to cover the same in the next few weeks.

3. Entertainment - Watching animals and taking their photos and shooting vertical format shorts for my Youtube shorts channels was the only entertainment we have had other than the amazing food and lovely company of my family members. I have posted a lot of content from Kruger National Park on my Youtube Shorts this time around. To end the week we had a family dinner at Taste of Punjab in Sunninghill and my brother and his family loved the food there.

4. Youtube Shorts - I achieved the 1000 mark at 283 videos on 9 May 2022 and saw that at the end of the week I am now standing at 383 videos with more than 1250 subscribers. All of them were shot using the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G smartphone which I took to the park along with selfies. Thanks to Samsung South Africa for the same.

5. Thank You - I was lazy on the same and only was able to take them past the 48000 mark from the 42640 mark which was done till last week.

The Lifes will slowly go back to normal as the office will start soon and then the emptiness will be felt as the kids will go back to their schools and all the fun and togetherness will again become like talking to the walls. This is the most difficult phase that will remind you of all the memories that took place when your relatives were there for you.

Cheers!!!

Cheetah Near #LowerSabie Rest Camp @SANParksKNP @SANParks #SA #PhotoYatra #TheLifesWayCaptures

Hi Friends,

If you are ever on a trip to Kruger National Park and doesn't have too much of time to spend inside the park, then you shall always hit entrance from Paul Kruger Gate and reach Skukuza Rest Camp and take the route towards Lower Sabie Rest Camp but not the main road but the gravel road next to the river.

You will always see the maximum sightings of Big 5 in this area and your trip will end on higher notes with something to take home in terms of good pictures of animals and so many memories of the jungle.

Despite your all efforts and spending so many days inside the camps of Kruger National Park there will be always times when you won't see any of the big cats so easily and rhinos too.

Cheetah is extremely shy and you won't find them so easily. On my last trip to Kruger National Park, I saw one from far but he quickly went inside the bushes and we waited outside for more than an hour without any success.

It all depends on your luck and the viewing spot where you are and some lucky people have seen it doing the hunt also live in front of their eyes. It all happens in a split second and your vehicle must have crossed the spot while you are checking your GPS. Some people have seen it resting on the top of the tree and staying there for almost an hour or so in the evenings - it all depends on the Luck of the Jungle and their God's blessing you.

Your eyes are like a search engine and your mind has to be too quick to decipher whether it is an animal or a stone reflecting light like it is an animal. This really takes a toll on your eyes and if you are also driving then it's real torture.

You definitely need some kind of eye tone fluid to put in your eyes at the end of the day else you will suffer from me a headache. I definitely suffered from one and by the afternoon I was so tired of looking and driving that I slept without any dinner that night. All the photos are taken using the Nikon D7000 camera by Aashish Rai inside the Kruger National Park.

Rhino & It's Horns @RhinoandLionSA #PhotoYatra #TheLifesWayCaptures

Hi Friends,

Rhino is of the Big 5 animals South Africa is famous for and what a beautiful animal this is but is mostly sought-after by the poachers because of its horns.
Some people believe that Rhino horns can give them some kind of power to fight some of the deadly diseases which is totally superstition as these can also be cured using allopathic medicines.
In some of the big national parks like Kruger National Park, they don't even map the spots at camps for fellow travelers where rhinos are roaming as poachers are trying every day in the night to kill either an elephant or rhino.
Rhino loves to stay and roam with its family and is purely vegetarian but has power equivalent to many big animals like elephants.
What happened with us at the Lion and Rhino Nature reserve when we first traveled that a rhino came charging as we kept our engines ON of the car and it was disturbing him a lot.
With the kind of horn this rhino has, he could easily turn the car upside down and even kill some people as the sharp horn can easily penetrate anyone.
He came almost at the corner of the road while we backed our vehicle in reverse and took it as far as we can from the spot.
Rhino is one of the most aggressive animals and that is the criteria of Big 5 in South Africa. The hippopotamus is also big but his anger gets cooled down immediately and doesn't like to chase people whereas Rhino will chase you till he can.
In the end, what everyone needs is to spend time with the family taking care of them and protecting them. But we as a human need to protect animals like Rhinos from ourselves only and all those superstitions that horns can take our sickness away and not medicines. All these photos are taken using a Sony Cybershot point and shoot camera at Lion and Rhino Nature Reserve, Johannesburg, South Africa. This private nature reserve is around 35 km from the center of the city and belongs in the area known as Cradle of Humankind which will be covered in the posts later.
