After 75 Years, Scrabble Unveils a New Way to Play The Classic Game - Scrabble Together Mode

The way we use words is changing, and so is Scrabble, which today unveils a second side to the classic gameboard, with Scrabble Together Mode: A cooperative, faster-paced and more casual version of the iconic word game, just in time for National Scrabble Day on 13th April. It’s the first time in its 75-year history that Scrabble has made such a significant change to its Classic game.

Get double the fun with two games in one: The new way of playing will now be included in every copy of the game. Simply flip the board over and pick up the deck of Goal cards included in the game to get started with the Scrabble Together Mode.

Designed with inclusivity and collaboration in mind, Scrabble Together Mode allows players to work as a team to complete goal cards at their chosen challenge level, with helper cards to encourage players throughout the game. Scrabble Together Mode also offers a quicker game with simple scoring. The double-sided board allows people to pick and choose their gameplay to suit, whether they want a speedy co-operative game, or would prefer to settle in and take the competition up a notch with the much-loved Classic version.

It's the birthday month of The Life's Way blog which was started on 27-Dec-2012 and since then it has never looked back. I may not be getting the sponsored posts to make it a second income stream but I intend to pursue that goal in 2022. Let's give it a Fire in the belly kind of try in 2022. 1. 8 Years of www.TheLifesWay.com #TheLifesWay #BlogAnniversary #8YearsofTheLifesWay #2222Post - I completed my 8 Years of blogging last year and it was the 2222 posts and in this year I am almost at 2500 posts before I close the year or write the 9th year post. These kinds of posts help me connect the dots and I can see what I missed or gained in the whole process. I love my blog and will continue to enjoy the same in the coming years and will see if I can create more video content.

 

2. #TheLifesWay on @GoogleMaps #MyYearInReview 2020 @GoogleAfrica #LocalGuides #LetsGuide - Google Maps is one of the platforms where I can contribute and measure my performance on a daily basis based on the increase in the number of photo views and review views. I really like these kinds of tracking to just boost my ego as other than that I have not received anything from Google for the same. So it's just a charity programme which you do and forgets about. I will stop linking my ego to this programme going forward. 

3. #TheLifesWay on @Youtube #MyYearInReview 2020 @GoogleAfrica #Youtuber - It was my first year on Youtube and these were the stats sent by the Youtube team for my channel. I did put up a lot of videos in 2021 and let's see if the stats improved or not but still I am far from the 1000 subscriber mark and nor I have earned anything from the videos on any platforms. I still love creating videos and have a lot of unboxing stuff that I have to share with my audiences in the coming future. I can also do giveaways if any brands sponsor those. 

4. @SamsungSA Launches The Pioneering Curved #Gaming Monitor #OdysseyG9 - It's almost a year since this Gaming Monitor was launched and I am currently using the same. It's a full circle of life thought the screen is a 1000R curved or can be called a semi-circle. I am grateful to Samsung for sending the same for review. I am totally in love with this gaming monitor. 

5. Family Who Plays #ScrabbleSA Together, Stays Together @Mattel #8YearsofTheLifesWay - Scrabble South Africa team sent me this package to unbox and play with my family which I really loved shooting. I am thinking of more such activities on my blog posts and youtube channel. 

Last Year I was planning for India Travels as well as Dubai Trip at the start of the year and ended with a trip to Sani Pass. This year around I am not so sure where I am headed towards but wherever I am going to go will have some of the scenarios to keep me engaged with my family and fun with friends. I am thinking about what are my strengths and let's play on the same rather than comparing myself with others are doing. I have to live my own unique life rather than someone's else. I hope the Universe will grant me this knowledge to identify my own uniqueness and I wish the same for you!

Family Who Plays #ScrabbleSA Together, Stays Together @Mattel #8YearsofTheLifesWay

Scrabble is a board game from the house of Mattel which keeps you engaged and comes with the motto of Bringing Letters and People together. The package contains the playing board, 4 racks to keep your letters, 100 letter tiles, cotton tile bag to keep all 100 together when not in play and the rules booklet for the first-timers. This original crossword game is suitable for age 10 years and above as well as can be played from 2 to 4 players. 

The basic rule of the game is to use letter tiles to make words by crossing the words already on the board along with covering premium squares to maximize your score as the highest score player wins in the end. There are multiple benefits of playing this game together with your family or friends and can be enjoyed when there is no electricity or you are on the trip or just relaxing after a full day of work or on weekends. 

The benefits which I really loved playing the game is it improves your vocabulary and spelling and also you need to think of words on the board keeping your letters stack in mind. So this not only develops your focus and concentration but also your skill to keep checking your available resources to create something unique along the way. 

The second benefit is to calculate your mathematical score by placing the letter tiles while creating words on the board and thinking which option will benefit and fetch me most points. Also, simple addition and multiplication keep you entertained and you learn mental mathematics too. 

The biggest benefit is that there is no dearth as there are 225 squares on a Scrabble board where you can place your tiles to fetch more points and can think ahead just like the game of chess to score double or triple word as well as double or triple letter scores. Each letter tile has a small number written on the bottom right corner which is used to do the mathematical calculations. 

The normal 100 tiles have A-9, B-2, C-2, D-4, E-12, F-2, G-3, H-2, I-9, J-1, K-1, L-4, M-2, N-6, O-8, P-2, Q-1, R-6, S-4, T-6, U-4, V-2, W-2, X-1, Y-2, Z-1 and Blanks-2. If you add the letters and the points assigned to each letter then the total sum comes to around 187 points. The various alphabets have point value is as follows: 

• 1 point - A, E, I, O, U, L, N, S, T, R
• 2 points - D, G
• 3 points - B, C, M, P
• 4 points - F, H, V, W, Y
• 5 points - K
• 8 points - J, X
• 10 points - Q, Z
• 0 points - Blank Tiles

Each game can easily last for about 30-60 minutes and brings in a lot of entertainment for the whole family and also a lot of fights when you say this word is already made and a lot of references to the dictionary to check if the spelling and meaning of your words are correct and this place is now taken by the Google baba on your smartphone as compared to the actual dictionary. But I still believe that the dictionary should be the first book to be read by every student while growing up as it increases your vocabulary to the best of your abilities. 

In the end, Scrabble can definitely create new connections to words, to friends and to the family - with this worldwide favourite board game across all age groups. I have been playing the same since the last 30-35 years and recently got this new Scrabble BRAND Crossword Game Original from Mattel which is available at all toys shops and online retailers like takealot.com for easy order during this festive season. I really love playing the same with some of the chips and cold drinks by the side and enjoy food especially pizza while we put our brains to create some new words.
