Sabrina Carpenter Shares Epic Moments
Global music sensation Sabrina Carpenter has teamed up with Samsung to share exclusive, behind-the-scenes moments from her ongoing ‘emails i can’t send’ world tour, and to show fans how to get the most out of the experience #withGalaxy.

A Galaxy S23 Ultra was used to capture footage from behind the curtain of Sabrina’s tour, as well as content from her performances to demonstrate how a premium smartphone camera can change the way both artists and fans enjoy live performances.

“It doesn’t feel like that long ago that I was standing in the audience listening to my favourite artists live,” says Sabrina Carpenter. “I know how pivotal concerts can be, so it’s important to me that fans get the most out of coming to my shows. Being able to re-live the experience afterwards can be almost as thrilling, and having a camera like the one on the Galaxy S23 Ultra helps to capture and experience the moment all over again.”

The Perfect Camera for Concerts
Using the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s impressive zoom capabilities, even those at the back of the arena can feel closer than ever to the pop icon. With advanced Nightography features, ‘Carpenters’ can also capture photos that retain the vibrancy of the live performance no matter the time or lighting conditions.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra allows fans to get closer to the action than ever before. The camera comes with 3x and 10x optical zoom, giving concert-goers a clear view of what’s happening on stage, anywhere in the venue.

Concerts are where Nightography really shines. Thanks to the 200MP adaptive sensor on the Galaxy S23 Ultra, fans won’t have to worry about getting dull night-time shots.

While Sabrina’s shows are sure to feature big crowds and lots of dancing, videos of the experience don’t have to be shaky or blurred. The optical image stabilizer (OIS) angles on the S23 Ultra reduce blurring typically unavoidable in low-light situations. Fans can also enjoy sharp, vibrant video with Samsung Galaxy’s advanced object-aware AI.

There’s no need for concertgoers to ask others to take their photos. The Galaxy S23 Ultra features a 12MP front camera with fast autofocus and Super HDR selfie capabilities that make it easy to get high-quality solo or full squad shots — sometimes even with the artist herself!

SA Youth Celebrated at Graduation Ceremony of @SamsungSA EEIP EASTC Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician Programme

Hi Guys,

Apprenticeship to grow skills & address ICT education for unemployed youth in South Africa

Samsung Electronics South Africa and the Ekurhuleni Artisans and Skills Training Centre (EASTC) in collaboration with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), recently celebrated a group of 40 selected apprentices at the Graduation Ceremony of the Samsung EEIP EASTC, a 24-month SETA accredited Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician Apprenticeship programme.

This programme was started when Samsung became aware of the country’s critical shortage of technicians to service consumer electronics and hand-held devices in the market. The company, therefore, decided to sponsor a 24-month SETA accredited Air-conditioning and Refrigeration apprenticeship programme in partnership with the EASTC. The programme trained 40 selected apprentices to work with mentors to grow their skills and address ICT education for unemployed youth in South Africa.

The ultimate outcome of this apprenticeship programme is not only to develop Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) skills in Artisans Training but also to ensure that there’s a portfolio of practical experience and skills that are transferred to improve the EASTC youth’s employability. This group of selected technicians have graduated and completed all the requirements, including trade testing to be certified by Energy and Water Sector Education and Training Authority (EWSETA) as qualified technicians.

Hlubi Shivanda, Director of Business Operations and Innovation and Corporate Affairs at Samsung South Africa said: “This graduation celebration is one of our proudest moments. Since the launch of our R280-million worth Equity Equivalent Investment Programme (“EEIP”) in 2019, our mission has been to empower the country’s youth in the ICT sector and this programme has now produced incredible results.”

This 24-month SETA-accredited Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician Apprenticeship programme is but one of Samsung’s EEIP initiatives that are harnessing the power of technology to train and inspire young people to pursue their ambitions. This technician apprenticeship is a fully funded bursary programme that provides for tuition, equipment and stipends.

It is a comprehensive skills development investment programme that prioritises the delivery of an integrated holistic package of personal, technical, entrepreneurial and business skills - aligned to meet the needs of the country’s economic development strategies.

Simon Ndukwana EASTC CEO said: “As a college, we are very grateful for the partnership with Samsung and the positive impact that this programme is continuing to have on our students. This programme is very important to our students because it is turning them into qualified and accredited artisans with critical ICT skills needed by the country’s economy. This essentially means that the prospects of employment for our students are now raised even higher.”

Emmanuel Hlopulusa saw a recruitment advert for the programme on social media. Having grown up and attended high school in Ivory Park, Tembisa, he applied to participate in the programme. Hlopulusa found the first few months of the programme very difficult because he had no prior exposure to artisan training. The facilitators have now equipped learners such as Hlopulusa with skills to repair and maintain air conditioners and refrigerators.

Hlopulusa said: “We have learnt a lot throughout the programme, including practical experience during the workplace training phase. I did not know anything about aircon and refrigeration, but now this kind of exposure will help me start my own business or increase my chances of being employed in large companies. I am grateful to EASTC and Samsung for sponsoring me throughout this programme.

“I really appreciate the financial support that we received from this programme because it included a stipend that covered my travel costs to school and money to buy food. I can now proudly call myself a qualified aircon and refrigeration technician and it is all because of Samsung. This programme has improved my chances in life and I really appreciate what this experience has done for me,” concluded Hlopulusa.

With 4IR at the centre of everything that everyone does these days, Samsung is convinced that South Africa now, more than ever, needs to equip the youth to seize the opportunities that lie in the ICT sector. The company’s continued investment efforts in ICT education are ensuring that South Africa’s youth is now gaining artisanal and electronic skills.

Shivanda emphasised: “The success of this apprenticeship programme is an affirmation of our commitment to continue empowering the leaders of tomorrow through educational initiatives that help to change their lives by increasing their prospects for employability or entrepreneurship.”

STEM Learners Complete the Solve For Tomorrow Design Thinking Workshops @SamsungSA

Hi Guys,

Samsung completed the second phase of the Solve for Tomorrow Competition, encompassing the Design Thinking workshops for the ten finalist schools - held in the five provinces (Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal and Limpopo) where the finalist schools are situated.

The workshops were developed to encourage learners to think, speak and act like designers, to build strong teams and gain research insights that could transform their ideas from the conceptual stage to a solution that addresses concerns within their communities. The competition officially launched in South Africa in January this year and is now in its second phase where the teachers, learners and mentors need to research and develop their prototypes in preparation for the finale.

The workshops assisted the learners to understand a cognitive and structured process for human-centred, creative problem-solving. They were also aimed to help them foster creative and critical thinking, collaboration and communication skills through project-based learning, as well as learn and practice key activities of the Design Thinking process including preparing for interviews, identifying a point of view, brainstorming and making a paper prototype. The learners were also taught and encouraged to immerse themselves in the work by doing it themselves to get a first-hand experience and thus the necessary skills to apply towards their creative solutions.

“This unique competition is our contribution to youth empowerment and skills creation in the information communication technology sector to help the country play a meaningful role in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). It was designed to increase interest and proficiency in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM), gives grade 10 and 11 learners from underserved communities an opportunity to gain invaluable skills while solving some of their communities’ challenges,” said Hlubi Shivanda, Director: Business Operations and Innovation and Corporate Affairs at Samsung.

New Year Resolutions - Week 15 Achievements & Failures in 2023 #TheLifesWay

Hi Guys,

The half of the month is finished already and things have started to pick up in terms of launch events and getting busier and busier. I am running around from one event to another and also posting a lot of videos on my YouTube channel as well.

1. Launch Events - I attended some launch events this week starting with Nikon Event in Centurion where some executives came from Dubai, MEA and were looking for influencers to promote their new mirrorless cameras. Then it was the Melon Mobile launch event at Prison Break Market which rides on the MTN network and I did review the SIM cards received from them for free as a part of the goodies bag. I then went on to attend the Frangrance Wonderland event with Liz Fragrance Queen for the first time as I received the tickets from MIX 98.3 FM radio channel from Sam. I will definitely recommend you book the tickets to her next event that happens every month. She gives all her knowledge about fragrances and perfumes during the events and also sends you home with a lucky draw and sure shot return gift.
New Year Resolutions - Week 15 Achievements & Failures in 2023 #TheLifesWay
2. Thank You - The counter again went back to zero and I was only able to do a 7000 Thank You count till the end of the week.
3. Entertainment - I started with watching Shazam 2 movie which I didn't like much. Then I went on to watch Mrs Undercover which was really a nice watch starring Radhika Apte and Sumit Vyaas. I also watched the Season 1 of Happy Family Conditions Apply which is really a hilarious series if you like the Gujarati comedy.
4. Daily Yoga - I totally loved Yoga classes that started once again and I had to miss a day of Yoga on Monday. Once you start doing daily yoga, you have to do it every day as your body will want to have it to get stretched and feel relaxed.

5. YouTube - I am continuously creating a lot of videos in terms of long-form as well as Shorts on the channel. I have crossed more than 400 long-form videos this week. I am sure people will find them sooner than later and maybe one of the videos will go viral in the near future or at least that's my wish. If you have not checked the channel, definitely give it a try from the link underneath.

New Year Resolutions - Week 14 Achievements & Failures in 2023 #TheLifesWay

Hi Guys,

April 2023 is the month when you feel that things are getting picked up in terms of launch events and other tasks.

1. Daily Yoga - After taking a break from Yoga thinking that I will be able to do it myself, I have rejoined the daily online classes. This has been the best habit to follow all your life.
New Year Resolutions - Week 14 Achievements & Failures in 2023 #TheLifesWay
2. Entertainment - This week I watched a movie premiere of AIR that I really wanted to watch. It was a great event with free popcorn and cold drinks. The movie stars Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman, Viola Davis and others. This is definitely a one-time watch as there is some detail shown in the movie. Else you can also read the book by Phil Knight. Also, I watched The Great Indian Murder Season 1, which I wanted to see on the Disney Plus streaming platform. There is really a sad turn of events in the web series as you will fall in love with various characters of the web series.
3. Thank You - I started around 61000 and reached 81000 by the end of the week. As told in my previous posts this is one of the best practices as told by Ken Honda in his book The Happy Money.
4. Humanz - I got my first payment from the Humanz app for a campaign I did on Twitter long back. any kind of cash payment is always good and you can then buy some stuff using the money earned.
5. YouTube - YouTube video creation is my favourite activity and I do a lot of scripting these days. The easiest way to create a video is to think about the video well in advance and prepare the ideas that you want to communicate. I always try to jot them down and then let the flow take its turn. I always love impromptu speeches and videos because that is my true reaction that is being captured but it doesn't do justice with the detailed product reviews as sometimes I may miss telling you some details that you guys have queries on. That's why it's always good to write down some important points that you want to discuss in the videos.
The first three months of the Year 2023 are gone by and now we are in the second quarter I feel really sad during this month as the annual appraisal letter comes with a new salary and I see none to zero growth leading to a lot of anger and irritation but unless I take steps to resolve it this problem will remain like that year after year. I look forward to correcting the same asap.

Aum Namah Shivay!

Till next time...Aashish
Thanks! Cheers!!!
