New Year Resolutions - Week 07 Achievements & Failures in 2023 #TheLifesWay

Hi Guys,

Week 7 started with a trip to Pilanesburg on the Suzuki Vitara Brezza I got for Valentine's Day with my wife. This time the kids stayed at home with the nanny. It was something we never did for such a long drive leaving behind kids at home so I was not comfortable much but then I do think that parents should take some time away from kids to talk and discuss life and what is next?

1. Suzuki Vitara Brezza - The car came for around a week and stayed for 10 days and I was feeling so sad once it left me to go back to the company it came from. It was a wonderful ride and the second car really helps to sort many things out. The petrol engine is peppy on the Vitara Brezza GLX model I received and it also gave me an average of around 15.4 km per litre with long drives to city school drops as well. This is really a nice car priced around ZAR 310000 but it was not as stable driving above 120kms on a long drive, below that speed range, it was working fine. I also loved the SUV body design so that it can take me to the farthest parts of Pilanesburg that I have never seen before.

2. Thank You - I completed another 18000 Thank You to take the total number to reach the 159500 mark. Let's see how much we can do by the end of the month or so. If I am not doing it for the week, I will keep the mark constant and also will remove the point as well for the week thinking of it as a failure to do this exercise.

3. Launch Events and Goodies - I received the Samsung Galaxy S23+ to review and enjoy it to take some photographs and test drive the same as well. I also got a Valentine's Day gift from Huawei which is showcased in the video underneath. Many thanks to Huawei for the same. I also won a Twitter contest to go to the Momentum One More Fan event where we watched the cricket match between South Africa and Australia which was eventually won by Australia but totally loved watching it on a big screen with so many other fans of the Women Cricket T20 World Cup.
4. General Knowledge Quiz - I have always been a fan of the GK quiz and always try to participate in the same from time to time. The company I work for has an annual quiz competition and last year I reached the regional finals but somehow missed reaching the world finals and got some ZAR 800 as a participant to reach the regional finals. This year I will definitely try again. The initial virtual round was this week and I was able to answer most of the questions in the fastest time possible - they only give 10-15 seconds to read, choose and answer the question so there is no scope for Google search at all unless there is someone sitting next to you. But I don't do any such thing because it's a day-to-day job to learn and remember what questions can be asked. I have won so many small prizes in TATA Crucible Quiz - Corporate online and in-person contests.
5. YouTube - I am trying a lot to get some regular income from YouTube views and monetization but it's a struggle. I have to bring a lot of production value to my videos with a well-written script and why people will watch the video also. I have to solve the problems and also share what I did in the same situation if talking about the home loans or education loans etc that I paid in my life. I am doing a lot of videos that I have created and edited but they all are the same style and don't show my face at all. In YouTube language, it's called a faceless channel and mines is like that only. Maybe I should try to show more of my face and let people know that this is me and me alone all the way. I have always thought that the product or service is more important than my face but it has to change now.

Many thanks for your time and time again watching my videos and reading my regular weekly updates. As I always say, your time is my only blessing! Cheers!!! - Aashish

New Year Resolutions - Week 6 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay

Hi Friends,

Week 6 was one of the best weeks as some of the wishlists became a reality with the right attitude and mindset. I am still not able to be with myself completely as I am running after so many things so peace of mind is something I am losing a little bit every day.

Week 6 - 05 Feb 2022 (Sat) to 11 Feb 2022 (Fri)

1. Daily Prayers - The same took a backseat this week as I could not do it for 4 days which is a real failure for sure. But I bought the digital counter from the China Mall along with CR2032 batteries to light up the electronic candles all day and night. So though the daily prayers didn't happen much, I was happy that I could resolve some pending tasks.

2. Thank You - The counter brought in daily Thank you for chanting and I reached 12764 by the end of the week. Thanks to the China Mall for the counter with which I also bought in some of the gratitude journals as my Huawei journal is coming to an end.

3. Launch Events - This remains the main highlight of this week as I started my Sat with Huawei Sandton City Store launch event and received an awesome 20000mAh power bank from the Team Huawei. My daughter participated in the public contest by DJ Tira and she won a Huawei Diary and T-shirt by answering the question rightly. We went to the Asus Popup store too which gave us their glass water bottles too on the same day. I was also invited to the Cartoon Network To The Rescue Season 2 launch event in Joburg CBD and it was my first time ever in that area after a long while. I received a Bluetooth speaker from them with their logo on the same. Samsung Unpacked 2022 remains the most sought-after launch event for the Galaxy S22 series of smartphones and I attended the same. This time I travelled by the Uber codes they provided and also had a helicopter ride above the Steyn City in Johannesburg. It was really nice and great to meet a lot of people in person after 2 years of virtual launch events.

4. Books/Audiobooks - The Everything Store by Brad Stone continues as it's a long one and I am listening to understand and remember for the GK event too.

5. Walking - Walking more than 7.5 kilometres on Sat and Sun at the start of the week gave me enough coverage to complete the 20kilometers for this week as I knew I have to go to a lot of launch events and timings will be a problem. Planning well in advance and taking long strides helps to complete any goal whatsoever.

6. Entertainment - I totally loved Rocket Boys web series on SonyLiv which is based on the life of Vikram Sarabhai and Homi J Bhabha. Jim Sarbh is the charm of the show with his personification of Bhabha and what an acting marvel this series is. Regina Cassandra also looks really amazing and the background music is the main highlight of this show to bring in all kinds of emotions at the right moment. Totally binge-watching and worth every second of your time. I also watched The King's Man movie which is also nice if you are a fan of the series as they take you to the start of the agency as to how it came into existence?

7. Blogging - Due to the time spent attending a lot of events, I could not do much of the posts but did some for Samsung Unpacked launch event. I also posted some pictures on the Instagram handle and Facebook page. The process is secured for this week too bringing in much-needed consistency. I am running out of ideas of what to post but there is no dearth of photographs in my kitty if I think about it.

8. General Knowledge - I continued the process to watch a lot of Tata Crucible youtube videos this week too and it really helps to know about the brands around you. You can learn how the bigger players are getting bigger and smaller players are getting consumed by these bigger players in the market. Some players who were quite small earlier have now become much bigger than the ones who tried to buy them. It's a unique world and always keeping an eye on the new marketing principles is an awesome thing to do.

Cheers!!!

Twitter Goodies - Tata Crucible - The Business Quiz

Hi Guys,

TATA Crucible is the name of the competition which really makes me feel that I am lagging behind in search of knowledge and I am not upto the mark in reading and learning. I have been participating in the Corporate side of the competition but always fails to reach the regional levels. The first time I came across the competition was in 2005 when I was doing my MBA in Hyderabad. The level of questions is simply amazing. Though I am not able to reach the podium but I have been able to answers some of the questions that comes to audience and win several TATA Crucible goodies.
Tata Crucible twitter handle always host some interesting quiz for it's followers every friday where everyone gets a chance to win awesome goodies by showcasing their googling skills or general knowlege. Though my GK is not so great but my googling skills are nice so I got lucky to win these twitter contests.I received this awesome pendulum clock which I always wanted to showcase on my study table. I always feel proud that I won this TATA Crucible clock whenever I see it on my table.

Pickbrain Giri asks questions which really test your knowledge in real quiz environment and I really love attending the event in live wherever it happens. If you got time do check their facebook page or website and go to the nearest city where there next quiz is happening.

Go for knowledge!

Cheers!!!

An Android App a day - 25. BrainBox Business Quiz

Hi Guys,

I have been a fan of General Knowledge and quiz competitions since school days. I used to participate in all of them and used to win a lot of lunch boxes, pens, pencils, books etc during those days. It really helped me groom my brain to think quickly and come up with an answer asap. During the course of life, I was unable to groom myself further and wasn't able to make it big in the quiz competitions. I came across Tata Crucible Quiz competition for the first time in Hyderabad when I was doing my MBA. Since then I have always tried to attend this competition whenever it happens in my city. I have fallen in love with the type of questions PickBrain asks during preliminary rounds and main finals. I have always tried to watch all the episodes on TATA_Crucible youtube page http://www.youtube.com/user/TataCrucible/videos.

This was the first time in many years that I was unable to win any Audience prize since I knew the answer but was not fast enough to raise my hand. It was a great day though as I won in their twitter contest #tweetasithappens for Delhi Zonal Finals.

Now after this 2013 season finale, the game has come up with an Android app for all the business quiz lovers. And again, I won the twitter #tweetasithappens contest because of the live streaming that was done by Team on Facebook page from Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai.

It has questions divided into 5 rounds of 5 questions each based on several categories like Automobiles, Technology, Retail, Trivia, Marketing, E-Commerce etc to test the knowledge of fans around the world.

I hope that more and more rounds with a lot of questions will be added to the app later.

App rating - 3.5/5 More information about the quiz is available at - http://tatacrucible.com/

Cheers!!!
