The new tablet also works in harmony with HMD Enable Pro, the enterprise mobility management solution designed for ease of use and managing deployed devices from its one-stop-shop interface.

Roberto Carlos Recreates his Classic #FreeKick in ‘Toughest Test’ Against New @NokiaMobile #NokiaXR20 #LoveTrustKeep

Hi Friends,
  • Introducing the first-ever life-proof Nokia phone, built to withstand life’s rough and tumble
  • Football legend Roberto Carlos and world champion freestyler Lisa Zimouche pair up to give the new life-proof Nokia XR20 its toughest test yet
  • Carlos repeatedly boots the new phone across a concrete gravel football pitch in Madrid, Spain and recreates his famous 1997 banana shot in the ultimate crossbar challenge with the Nokia XR20
  • The 5G smartphone is built to survive everything life throws at it: extreme temperatures from +55C to -22C, 1.8m drops, 1 hour under water[i], and more
  • Watch the ‘Toughest Test’ here
Footballing sensation Roberto Carlos collides with HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, to reveal a brand-new life-proof[ii] handset, the Nokia XR20.

From lab testing conditions to a football pitch, the brand-new 5G smartphone met its match when Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos and world freestyle champion Lisa Zimouche put it to test in Madrid, Spain.

The skilled footballing pair put the new Nokia XR20 through a series of tough tests from dunking it in ice water to being kicked, flipped and spun screen-first across a concrete gravel football pitch.

Nokia phones are built on the belief that technology should last for longer; the brand-new life-proof smartphone has been built to last with military-grade resilience paired with four years of monthly security updates, the latest software upgrades for up to three years, and future-proofed 5G[iii].
Roberto Carlos Recreates his Classic #FreeKick in ‘Toughest Test’ Against New @NokiaMobile #NokiaXR20
Stephen Taylor, CMO, HMD Global said: “The average person breaks their smartphone within just 10 weeks of owning it[iv]. The combined expense of protective cases, repairs and warranties can add up to hundreds, leading to early device replacement. We built the Nokia XR20 to be extremely tough to eliminate this cost and to empower people to feel good about keeping their smartphone for longer.”

Roberto Carlos, Brazil World Cup winner and Real Madrid legend, said: “I’ve been asked to recreate my ’97 free kick many times over the last twenty years, but never like this before, so I had to accept the challenge. Surely a mobile phone couldn’t survive the wrath of a football. I didn’t think the Nokia XR20 could have withstood the power of my kick. I may not be professional anymore, but I know I still pack a punch, so it was an impressive result.”

Lisa Zimouche, World Champion Freestyle Footballer, said: “I’m used to kicking and flicking footballs, so I thought trying it with a smartphone would be tough, but within seconds of seeing the set up I was so eager for the challenge. I’ve dropped phones before, and it’s never been a happy ending, so it’s impressive what the Nokia XR20 can do.”

The ‘Toughest Test’ opens with a strong left kick to the ball aimed at the Nokia XR20 from Roberto Carlos, then you see it slide screen-first across the gravel concrete. But owners of the Nokia XR20 can say goodbye to those heart-stopping moments when your phone falls screen-first to the floor. Made from Gorilla® Glass Victus™, it’s four times more scratch-resistant than its competitors[v]. Plus, the clever design of the Nokia XR20 ensures you can enjoy good visibility in direct sunlight and smooth browsing even with wet hands and gloves.

The ‘Toughest Test’ continues with Zimouche’s quick feet putting the device through its paces, as she kicks the ball at three handsets, and knocks them down one by one.

Tension builds as legend Carlos puts the ball down and steps back as he recreates the famous banana shot that made history in the 1997 Brazil vs France match. In the ultimate crossbar challenge, three phones are positioned to a metal red and white striped goal post with their cameras on and filming through a 48MP ZEISS Optics dual camera. The ball careers through the air at an eye-watering speed, and in a matter of milliseconds, the Nokia XR20 captures the ball smashing into it and crashing to the ground.

But it wasn’t just the famous free-kick that the device had to contend with, as the scorching sunshine exposed the handset to 33-degree heat in Madrid, and still, it never wavered or overheated.

Nokia XR20 – the 5G phone built for life’s rough and tumble
Tough on and off the pitch
Built to endure blistering temperatures, this device will follow you on all your family ventures, from sunny beach scrolling in scorching +55C to the icy ski slopes of –20C. For the adventurous or just those that are clumsy, the new handset can also survive the steepest of drops measuring up to 1.8m and survive one hour underwater. Also, if it gets dirty, you can give it a good scrub with soap and water.

Stamina and endurance
Future-proof as well as life-proof, the Nokia XR20 boasts the longest-ever monthly security updates from Nokia phones maker – four years – and up to three years of software upgrades.

With an up to two-day battery life[vi], it will also go the distance on a single charge, but should you need to power up quickly it supports 15W Qi wireless charging and 18W fast charging.

Photo finishes
For memories you want to remember forever, the reliable 48MP ZEISS Optics dual camera will provide excellent portraits or broad landscape shots. Plus, the two flashes bring in the light to the darkness.

The all-new SpeedWarp mode lets you capture a whole lot of adventure in a compact, exciting montage. The Nokia XR20 keeps a steady hand on precious family memories – even when you’re at a sandbox or an adventure park, your footage will look stable with Action Cam mode.

And those moments that need to be recorded and brought back to life, the OZO spatial audio with wind-noise cancellation will ensure your videos are a true representation of the moment itself, without any unwanted sounds interrupting.

When you want the audio to reach further afield, the OZO Playback will be there to broaden the sound with the support of extra loud stereo speakers – they’re mighty enough to hear over a crowd at a BBQ this summer.

The all-new Nokia XR20 is available in Ultra Blue and Granite Grey and comes in 4/64GB and 6/128GB[vii] configurations. Local variants, pricing and availability will be shared in-market at a later stage.

A Memoir - This Month Last Year - July 2018 www.thelifesway.com #TheLifesWay #BirthdayBoy

Hi Friends,

July will remain always my favorite month as I was born in this month and every year I look forward to making it my best month of the year. This year I did spend a lot of money on the things I always wanted in my life and my family too showered me with gifts of their choice which I totally loved. I did win a contest with Aquelle but the prize is still to arrive so I am not sure what they will send me.

1. A Memoir - This Month Last Year - July 2017 www.thelifesway.com #TheLifesWay #1550Post - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/07/a-memoir-this-month-last-year-july-2017.html - Last year when I posted this blog post for July 2017 it was my 1550th post and this year this one will be 1765th post on my blog. I think the next year it will be very less movement as I will move more towards video blogging as compared to the pen and paper.

2. Product Review - @HuaweiZA P20 #SeeMooore #HuaweiP20 #ArtificialIntelligence - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/07/product-review-huaweiza-p20-seemooore.html - Last year I was using this review unit by Huawei and totally loved taking it around the city. The portrait photographs looked too cool just from the smartphone and posted thousands of them on the social media networks. Now I am using Huawei P20 Pro which is also an awesome smartphone and my wife wants to use it now.

3. Product Review - @SamsungMobileSA Galaxy S9 #DoWhatYouCant #GalaxyS9 @SamsungSA - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/07/product-review-samsungmobilesa-galaxy.html - Last year I received this awesome smartphone from Samsung for 2 weeks review and I took the same to Badplaas Forever Resorts and totally loved the same. The photos on this device are totally out of this world that's why I think they call them GALAXY smartphones!
A Memoir - This Month Last Year - July 2018 www.thelifesway.com #TheLifesWay #BirthdayBoy
4. Product Review - @NokiaMobile Nokia 6.1 #AndroidOne #NokiaMobileZA #Nokia61 @HMDGlobal - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/07/product-review-nokiamobile-nokia-61.html - Nokia relaunched themselves in South Africa and I got to review one of their smartphones and the other one they sent, was left in the mailroom till the end of review period as they never called me and Nokia PR company never told me that they sent it. Totally missed the opportunity to use the Nokia 7 plus because of this miscommunications.

I did several other product reviews last July and this July in 2019, I took a break from all social media channels and focussed on enjoying my life.

5. A Memoir - This Month Last Year - Jun 2017 www.thelifesway.com #TheLifesWay - http://www.thelifesway.com/2018/07/a-memoir-this-month-last-year-jun-2017.html - I totally love writing for this series of blog posts and share what happened that month of the year. I might be late to do so in many months but I try to be consistent and now onwards I will try to stick to a schedule. More and More I analyze these posts, I feel sad that I did so many posts for all these brands for free and they are not calling me to their events too. Some of them have never sent any goodies, press drops at all and when asked for the same, they totally stop all communications. This world of PR and blogging is such a mean world and you need to have a thick skin to carry on going in this one!

Many thanks for all your love and blessing in my birthday month for all the wishes on facebook, WhatsApp and other channels of communications. Many thanks to my family and friends for all their great gifts and thoughts about my celebrations. One of my close friends told me that, I will be double Naughty at 40 because I am already Naughty! I am sure I will surpass his expectations!

Cheers!!!

Product Review - @NokiaMobile Nokia 6.1 #AndroidOne #NokiaMobileZA #Nokia61 @HMDGlobal

Hi Friends,

Nokia has been launching Android smartphones every quarter or half-yearly to take on the market which has been taken over by Apple's iPhones, Samsung Galaxy and Note series and Huawei's P and Mate Series Android smartphones. If the smartphones are on the shelves and the hardware is good enough, it will definitely pick up by just a little bit of luck and word of mouth. Nokia trying to do the same and I got to review this Nokia 6.1 which is an upgraded version of Nokia 6 which is the mid-range smartphone. Read my blog post for Nokia 8 here along with some Instagram images taken using the smartphone.

At MTN's 5KM Run in Roodepoort

All the while till today, I was of the opinion that I used Nokia 6 earlier and why the smartphone has been degraded from the performance I was getting from new Nokia 6.1, but the truth was I was comparing apples to oranges as I used Nokia 8 earlier. Let's begin afresh than to talk about the features of this smartphone.

Product Review - @NokiaMobile Nokia 6.1 #AndroidOne #NokiaMobileZA #Nokia61 @HMDGlobal
The very first feature that will attract you is the design and coloured contours of this Android smartphone. I really loved the Copper lining on the black coloured smartphone, there are 2 others colour options available too which are White - Iron and Blue - Gold. This immediately makes the phone look good and when you are using an entry-level smartphone that the most calming effect when your family and friends relook at your smartphone. Even Nokia 7 Plus has the same kind of design, and it's this copper colour that really helps you get connected to its design and fall in love with the all aluminium body of Nokia 6.1

Low Light capture of pathway
Nokia 6.1 comes with 5.5" IPS LCD full-HD display with the resolution of 1920x1080 protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The smartphone is now upped to 64GB internal memory as compared to Nokia 6, and also the Operating system is now Android One as compared to Android Nougat in Nokia 6. The RAM has been increased from 3GB to 4GB, and Snapdragon 430 processor has been replaced with Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor with a clock frequency of 2.2 GHz. The battery remained the same in both the smartphones at 3000mAh which is enough to give 12-13 hours of full loaded performance.

Fire on a lazy wintery afternoon
The phone display is excellent and viewable in sunlight too, and also another feature I loved is that of continuous GPS road navigation guidance even if the screen is turned off. That is really helpful if you are living in Johannesburg and don't want the phone to be visible at the intersections and also need to follow Google maps to some destination travelling for the first time.

Selfie at MTN 5km Race

Nokia 6.1 has the same camera as Nokia 6, but I didn't really enjoy using the same as I compared it against Nokia 8. But as the price difference is too high between those 2 smartphones, at this price Nokia 6.1 could have done a little bit better as compared to the same priced models from Motorola, Samsung and Huawei. Low light photos were full of noise, and video quality was also inferior. The auto-focus was not right in low light, but with ambient light, the phone was able to take some good clear shots. Only worth mentioning is the selfie camera which was cool enough to take good shots and is equipped with 8MP FF, 1.12um, f/2, FOV 84degrees. The rear camera is 16MP PDAF, 1.0um,f/2, dual-tone flash equipped with ZEISS OPTICS. All the photos in this blog post are taken using Nokia 6.1.

Badplaas Forever Resorts Mountains
3.5mm jack for headphones is still part of the smartphone, but the dual speakers in Nokia 6 have been replaced by a single speaker with smart amplifier. The phone has 2 microphones enabled with Nokia OZO audio technology. It comes with latest Type-C USB connection and fingerprint sensor at the back. The audio speakers are not much powerful and very difficult to talk if you are driving and it's on loudspeaker or in a noisy environment. I didn't really enjoy using the smartphone on the loudspeaker.
Product Review - @NokiaMobile Nokia 6.1 #AndroidOne #NokiaMobileZA #Nokia61 @HMDGlobal
Selfie with my son
The packaging is simple and contains the smartphone, simple old style earphones, Type C USB cable and charger for the smartphone. I really don't like using the entry-level or mid-range smartphones, but this one has great design and never looked mid-range and performance wise it's good hardware if you are into multi-tasking games and apps, but camera performance has taken me down. Worthy buy if you want to stick with Nokia brands but wait for the next version if you already have Nokia 6 in your pockets. Check out some of the photographs of the product and images on my Instagram.com/araijain
