Hi Friends,

Luxor Iconic Felt Tip Pens UF are in 12 vivid colours. This pack is really good for your kids or even for adults when they are journaling. These pens are really colourful and also don't smudge at all. These are great for your daily writing habits. I have gifted them to my daughter, who was looking for these pens. 

The Luxor Writing Instruments is the brand I have been writing with all my life. I still have a lot of their pens in my pen cases. I think I have never lived my life without having one in my bag. 

I totally love their Hi-Tecpoint range, but now that the Pilot and Luxor have parted ways in India, Luxor have launched LX Max pens. I did have two of them, which I gifted to my friends on my birthday in the Tambola or Housie game.

Stationery Review 200 - Pilot Prera Fountain Pen with Medium Nib (ZAR 950)

Hi Friends,

I bought this Pilot Prera fountain pen in the Black Friday Sale at WriteGear in 2023. I really loved the design, but I think you should buy the pens based on the nibs rather than the body design. I really love this fountain pen, but since I already have Pilot Metropolitan Fountain Pens, I should have saved the money to get better pens from Pilot Pens may be something from the Heritage range. This pen is really lightweight as compared to the MR range, and also the transparent body has a certain charm to the same. I filled the same with Diamine Tammy Fountain Pen Ink from the Cult Pens 12ml bottle. 

Pilot Prera is a nice mini fountain pen which is really exclusive to Pilot Pens. This has a nice body design with colours only on the top of the cap and the bottom of the barrel. The rest of the body is transparent so that you can see the ink inside. This one comes with both an ink converter and an ink cartridge. 

This one also has the same nib as the Pilot Kakuno and Explorer, as well as the Metropolitan range with its stainless steel nibs. In the next models, which we are going to showcase, you will have the gold nibs in the coming days. 

This particular pen is not so easy to grab in South Africa as most of the vendors are out of stock, but if you want a mini fountain pen, then you can get this one. Else, you can also look at the Kaweco range of pens. I have showcased the Kaweco Brass Sport version of the same long ago on my channel.

Stationery Review 199 - Pilot Explorer Pink Fountain Pen with Fine Nib (ZAR 400)

Hi Friends,

I requested Sandton Stationery and Print Shop to get me the Pilot Explorer, and they gifted me the same. I wanted this plastic metallic pink colour based on Drew's recommendation from Goulet Pens. He later left the Goulet Pens and now runs his own channel and works at another shop. I really loved this Pink colour as I never had one in this body colour. This pen looks like the V5 and V7 from the Pilot Pen Range. Really comfortable and fine nib is definitely a great one. I had never written with the fine nib earlier, and I totally loved the same. 

Pilot Explorer is made from plastic and coated with metallic paint on the body. It's really lightweight and only around 15 grams. The pen can take both the ink converter and the ink cartridges. I have inserted the ink converter in this one and filled the same with the Karkos Hot Pink ink to match the ink colour. 

The pen is around ZAR 400 and is available in multiple metallic coloured bodies. Feels perfect for the long writing sessions and comfortable to carry around in your backpack. This is for the students who want something great-looking and not fully venturing into the heavier metal body fountain pens. 

The fine nib in this pen is almost similar to the one in the Pilot Kakuno, and writing with this one also felt like gliding on the paper. Go for it from Sandton Stationery & Print shop in Sandton City Mall.

Stationery Review 198 - Pilot Kakuno Clear Demonstrator Fountain Pen Fine Nib (ZAR 250)

Hi Friends, 

I bought this Maido in a box, DX volume 19, just because it had a fountain pen named Pilot Kakuno. The price of the box made this deal good, but I could have saved some money if I had bought this pen directly from Sandton Stationery & Print Shop in Sandton City. Check it out! 

Pilot Kakuno we have got is a nice fountain pen in a glossy, clear demonstrator version. The same came with a Con-40 ink converter as well in the Maido box. We will be using the converter for the next pen. For this one, I used the normal black ink cartridge that came along with the same as well inside the package. 

The pen is really lightweight and made for first-time users or when they want to buy their first fountain pen. It's similar to the Platinum Preppy fountain pen, which is half the price. This is also smaller in size, as showcased in capped and uncapped versions as well. Pilot Kakuno comes in multiple colours and is really popular since its launch date in 2013. Recently, Pilot Pens also launched their new Pilot Kakuno Madoromi series. 

As soon as the ink cartridge was inserted into the pen, the beautiful black ink took over, and the pen glided on the paper in the fine nib. Earlier to this pen, I only had a Pilot Metropolitan in Medium nibs which I bought in all five colours; it was available at the Sandton Stationery & Print shop in Sandton City Mall.

Stationery Review 197 - Sheaffer Pen Folio - 60 Pens Case

Hi Friends,

I bought this Sheaffer Pen Folio from the Facebook Marketplace from a historical user of fountain pens who passed away during COVID. His daughter sold the same to me, and I got it to keep my pens. It can hold 60 pens, which at the time when I bought it, I didn't have that many, but now I have many more than that. Check it out. Though I don't have Sheaffer's new range of fountain pens, let's see in the future.

Sheaffer has a lot of writing instruments in its profile. I have got some of the older models in my kitty that I will showcase soon.

Introducing Samsung SOS+: Real-Time Emergency Assistance

Samsung also unveiled Samsung SOS+, a personal emergency service developed in partnership with AURA, the country’s leading emergency response platform. Samsung SOS+ connects users to a nationwide network of vetted medical and armed responders.

In an emergency, users dial the dedicated SOS+ number, which instantly shares their live location with AURA’s secure system. Help is then dispatched immediately, with a call-back from the SOS+ control centre to confirm assistance is en route. The service is free for the first 12 months with the purchase of any qualifying device, including the new Galaxy A56, A36, and A26. The Subscription service will be available from 01 May 2025.

Stationery Review 194 - Jinhao Dadao 9019 Red (M) Fountain Pen

Hi Friends,

I bought this Jinhao Dadao 9019 Red Fountain Pen with Heartbeat Medium nib from Facebook Marketplace. The guy who sold me these bought them from the WriteSpoke Online Store in Johannesburg, South Africa. 

The 9019 pen is available in Black, Transparent Wine, Transparent Blue, Dark Blue, Wine Red and Transparent. 

The individual pen is priced at ZAR 399, and a set of 6 is available at ZAR 2000 only, and 3 pens are for ZAR 1050 only. 

Also, there are two nib variants, medium to fine, that are currently available at WriteSpoke. Some of the pens are in translucent body design and come with the biggest ink converters I have ever seen. The ink capacity is massive, and it will go on and on, so fill it with your absolute favourite ink. The converter is also threaded to the feed on the same, so it will remain secure inside the body of the pen. 

I have filled up this pen for the first time with Diamine Ancient Copper ink, and because of its wider nib, the ink colours are coming out nicely on the paper.

Stationery Review 193 - Jinhao Dadao 9016 Orange (F) Fountain Pen

Hi Friends,

I bought this Jinhao Dadao 9016 Orange Fountain Pen with Heartbeat Fine nib from Facebook Marketplace. The guy who sold me these bought them from the WriteSpoke Online Store in Johannesburg, South Africa. 

The 9016 pen is available in Black, Transparent Brown, Clear Demonstrator, White, and Orange colours in acrylic plastic. 

The individual pen is priced at ZAR 499, and a set of 5 is available at ZAR 2000 only. Also, there are two nib variants, medium to fine, that are currently available at WriteSpoke. 

Some of the pens are in translucent body design, and all of them come with an ink converter. The ink converter is really big on this one with a good ink capacity, along with a threaded so that it remains secure to the feed mechanism. 

I have filled up this pen for the first time with Diamine Aqua Lagoon ink, and I am loving the same writing with this pen and ink.
