The life in July 2015 was exciting and my blog touched the most number of pageviews (123,026) in the history of TheLife'sWay in a single month. I started using HTC One M8, one of my favorite devices at that time and still using the same as my day to day smartphone.

Last year, it was the time to attend the Huawei Launch event for the first time and I really loved the same. I posted a series of posts for the brand and their P8 smartphone. I really loved the paint light mode and the director mode on this device. Along with that I really loved their earphones as well as the book like packaging of P8 devices. Also to attend the event as a media, I got a nice 4G mobile wifi data device which I am currently using to access internet outside my home.

Product Review - Huawei P8 @HuaweiZA #IgniteP8

Hi Guys,

Huawei is the fastest growing smartphone company in South Africa and Worldwide its making a huge impact via their full featured smartphones at value for money, great service and wide presence. I got in touch with the company when one of the PR associates moved from other great brand to Huawei and he called me for the launch event. The launch event posts are shared on my instagram channel and can be accessed here
The first thing that you notice about Hawei P8 is it's packaging. The phone is stacked vertically just like a book stands in the library shelves. This is really awesome to look at and makes it easy to take the phone out of the box. I completely fell in the love with the packaging.
Secondly, you will notice the thickness of the phone which is really very thin (6.4mm) and slim. It feels great to hold the phone and buttons are rightly spaced throughout the sides of the phone for easy accessibility. The phone is light in weight (144 grams) too but remains features rich. It does feel premium phone especially in Mystic Champagne color. The screen display has great pixel density and colors produced are nice. HD games looks awesome and imbibe you further into the gameplay.
I saw so much marketing about the P8 Camera capabilities and took the same for a ride along with me to several events. The camera is responsive and takes great photographs using the 13 Megapixels main camera or the front 8 megapixels selfie camera. The OIS (optical image stabalizer) is built into the camera along with the F2.0 to let more light enter the lens which makes low light photography easy on this camera.
P8 comes at the right price making it value for money smartphone to buy and use for some years. The price of the Huawei P8 is nearly half the money for the same kind of features in competitor brands niche smartphones available in the market. No wonder P8 lite has crossed 10 million shipments which is available at further reduced price compared to P8 with little changes making it great phone for youth or students. The sound quality of the handset is loud enough for your use and never I felt the need of any bluetooth external speakers while watching a Youtube video.
Another great stuff about Huawei P8 is the new kind of earphones (looks similar to Apple Earpods) which are really great audio producing earphones. You won't need any other earphones from any other brand if you are using these. They look good and fits easily in your ears and produces wonderful sound quality whatever type of music you play even at louder volume.
Overall, I really loved this smartphone and with some effort you will be able to take some amazing photographs using this camera as this offers Light Photography along with multi-director mode to turn you into a budding film choreographer. Looking forward to the latest P9 which was launched recently with Leica Dual Camera lenses.

Cheers!!!

@HuaweiZA P8 Lite Crossed 10 Million Shipments #WOWway #SouthAfrica

Hi Guys,

Huawei has announced that it has shipped more than 10 million Huawei P8 lite smartphones, a mark that was reached just nine months after launch in Europe last spring. In total, the entire Huawei P8 series has successfully reached more than 16 million people globally – with 60 percent of coming from global markets.

The year got off to a quick start for Huawei, as the company set a new record by shipping over 12 million smartphones in January – a 93 percent increase from last year. January was also the fourth consecutive month that Huawei shipped over 10 million smartphones, with over 150000 pieces shipped in South Africa alone. With Huawei’s growing brand awareness and the continuous global growth, consumer interest in Huawei devices has continued to increase significantly.
This success builds on a strong 2015, during which Huawei shipped 108 million smartphones – a 44 percent increase from the previous year – to firmly establish its position as one of the top three global smartphone brands.

The Huawei P8 lite is the first Huawei smartphone to achieve higher sales in global markets than in China, signaling a breakthrough in Huawei’s strategy of internalization, and reaffirming the effectiveness of Huawei’s global market structure.

Adopting the stylish design of Huawei P series, the Huawei P8 lite is beautiful and perfectly crafted. It uses contrasting shades in its gold waistline design — the slim and stylish appearance delivers a sense of peace and calmness. Among Huawei’s smartphone portfolio, the P8 lite brings youthful energy at a lower cost to consumers, who continue to adopt the phone in record numbers.

I think this phone provides value for money, making it so successful among consumers of all ages and usage needs. The credit also goes to the network providers who has great monthly deals on this phone with as low as R200 or less.

Mate S: @HuaweiZA Luxurious Smartphone unveiled #IFA2015

Hi Guys,

Huawei unveiled its new flagship smartphone, the Huawei Mate S, at a special event in Berlin. The Mate S features new luxury-focused design packed with innovative technology to deliver the best possible Android experience. Key features of the new phone include a floating 2.5D screen, a pressure sensitive touch system and a new battery technology to give the users the maximum usages from a single charge. This is in addition to enhancements to the camera, the fingerprint reader and the touch controls introduced in previous models.
“Our goal in designing the Huawei Mate S was to develop a smartphone that offers a personalised experience, rather than a commoditised one,” said Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer BG. “The Huawei Mate S is based on insights we gathered about human interaction – most notably that touch is a natural action we take to understand our world. The Huawei Mate S redefines how we incorporate touch technology into our smartphones, breaking through the conventional way of touch screen control and ushering in new imagination for human-machine interaction.”

The Mate S’ touch screen control technology uses an unconventional design to strike a balance between the phone’s brilliant capabilities and its stunning visual appearance. Building on the revolutionary Huawei Mate 7 smartphone, the Mate S features a 5.5 inch 2.5D AMOLED screen that is 7.2 millimeters thick at the centre but with a width on the edges of just 2.65 millimeters. The arched back cover is designed to fit perfectly into the palm of a hand, making the phone less likely to be dropped.

Touch is at the heart of the Huawei Mate S, creating an enhanced experience for users that simplifies their interaction with the device. When viewing photos, they can be quickly previewed and enlarged by pressing the screen with one finger, streamlining the operations of a traditional phone. The Mate S can also be used as a scale to weigh objects. The phone is equipped with Fingerprint 2.0, an upgraded version of the advanced chip level security and one-key unlock technology pioneered in the Mate 7. Fingerprint 2.0 halves recognition speeds, with more accurate self-learning functions. It can also be used to control the notification bar, erase unread notifications, preview pictures, and hold and take phone calls. All of these options improve the one hand operation of the phone.

Fingerprint 2.0 and Knuckle Control 2.0 – technology first introduced in the Huawei P8 – simplifies how users switch between app operations and take screenshots. The feature offers users a new way to interact with their phone: drawing a “C” with their knuckle activates a camera, while double-clicking the screen with a knuckle records the screen in the form of a video. With these options, every type of touch provides an opportunity to be innovative.

The Mate S is equipped with a camera that considers users’ needs in everyday life as well as professional camera setting. The 13-megapixel rear camera features an advanced sensor with optical image stabilisation, dual color-temp LED flash lights, and independent image signal processor camera units, all of which combine to capture higher quality pictures faster. The Mate S takes camera capabilities one-step further by offering an 8-megapixel front camera with soft, front lights to improve selfies.

The professional camera mode allows for manual adjustment of ISO, exposure compensation, exposure time, white balance and focusing, and functions such as the grid, and flash-assisted focusing.
The Mate S takes regular recording functions to the next level by leveraging three microphones to support a smart direction algorithm. The Mate S’ beam-forming algorithm allows all three mics to focus on the sounds coming from where the phone is facing, enabling a clear recording with minimal background noises. For consumers on the go, the Mate S also supports Mopria printing general protocol, which includes 700 printer types across 29 leading brands.

The Mate S will be initially available in more than 30 countries including China, France, Germany, Israel, Japan, Spain, South Africa and UAE. The Mate S will be available for pre-order in Western Europe on Vmall.eu starting Tuesday, September 15. Exact South African availability and pricing will be announced at a later date. I am awaiting this awesome new upgrade as I loved Huawei Mate 7 when I had it for review. I am loving some of the latest features in Huawei P8.
