I am a fan of Kikkerland products. The design and utility are combined to create something that catches your fancy when you see it on the aisle of the bookshops in the malls. I am a fan of their products, and it's my wish to have as many as I can afford to bring for you guys to see and buy as well. Check this mini silicone USB flashlight that I have been using for 4-5 years now, and still working perfectly as compared to the SCUK one I showed you.
I think I don't have many flashlights that I love this much as I like this Kikkerland one.
I found this unique stationery product for my kids. This is an eraser creation set that's going for GBP 12 and it has 8 designs that you can create at home. Whether the eraser will be made in the oven or it will burn, only the future will tell but I have seen many such DIY kits in Makro and Takealot also. Samsung Wireless Speaker Scoop Design is an excellent small portable speaker with significant sound quality that I only got for ZAR 10 which is less than 1 USD. How and when I got it is answered in the video. This is also a historical speaker that I have and only unboxed now for your viewing pleasure. The retail price was around ZAR 550.
I am sure you will like this dual-coloured design which has everything going right for the audio product. To make it to the top choice is the Aux cable input to make my non-Bluetooth devices work as well and I can even connect my laptop etc to produce more audio or sound output. Great design by Samsung.

Sennheiser HD 202 was a dream product that I really wanted in my life. This was around Rs 3000 which is equivalent to ZAR600 in the Indian Markets. I read a lot of reviews and saw a lot of videos about the great performance of these Sennheiser headphones and I always wanted them in my life.
Sennheiser also launched the product in a new version named HD202 II again in 2016, but this one has been with me since 2013. The audio quality is awesome and the audio performance is balanced. It doesn't have that much bass as compared to the Skullcandy or Beats but you can always play around with Equalizers to suit your listening experience. This is one of the good On-ear headphones in the value price segment.
I won the same in a blogging contest in India for one of the Indiblogger branded contests. I really loved that I won these as I always wanted to own Sennheiser audio products.

I have been using these BOSE MIE2i Mobile Headsets since 2012 or so and today we are going to show these historical products for your viewing pleasure. This is the 12th year of me owning them and my only BOSE earphones since that time.
I have not used their Bluetooth products but I am head over heels for these mobile headsets. Along with my iPod Shuffle, this historical audio tech product from BOSE has been my prized possession since 2012. I have taken them everywhere from India to South Africa on all my trips. The cover has kept them in good condition but now the rubber is cracking a lot.
I am sure if the wire gets a jerk by chance it will break for sure but considering 12 years on earphones, the money spent is awesome along with an unlimited amount of superior audio quality on BOSE products. Thanks, BOSE.
The difference between any other earphones and these ones is the surround sound effect these give when you wear them. I totally love using the same and immediately they take me to a zone where I can focus on any task at hand. Totally love the audio performance on these earbuds as well while listening to my favourite songs each drum, guitar, or any other instrument seems like playing right in front of me.

I got this Huawei Gift Table Lamp at the Huawei Eco-Connect SSA 2023 Exhibition hall where a lot of partners set up their stalls and were showcasing their products and other things. I totally fell in love with this Table Lamp and got the same too. Thanks to Huawei South Africa for giving me the same.
I really felt great as this one is chargeable and can last up to 30 hours on a single charge. This is perfect for your loadshedding troubles to study, to eat or to just carry it in case. With a touch function button, this is a must-have for all people if they can find it.
Huawei South Africa gifted me another one which I gave to my daughter for her study desk. She is also enjoying the same now. Recently my wife used the same to light up a corner while she was binge-watching some web series. This is easily rechargeable but there is not charging led that shows that it has fully charged or getting charged. I put it for a whole night on charge and thereafter I can see the brightness of the LEDs glow up fully.

Huawei South Africa has so many products available for its consumers which not only support their ecosystem but also build a followers community. I have received a lot of products from various events I have attended over the last 10 years in South Africa which I keep giving away to all my friends and family members.
Some products last long and Huawei Selfie Stick with LED Beauty Light is one such product. I am always in love with lights and this one comes with a foldable selfie stick built in. I am still on the lookout for a Gimbal but till that time I will continue to use this one. This selfie stick will capture clear and bright selfies even in dark environments. This is one of the historical products I have since the past few years and I used it at length on my Garden Route trip with parents to eat dinner during loadshedding if not for clicking selfies and videos. My brother gifted me his Kindle Paperwhite 7th edition which I wanted as I was not able to read at night on my Kindle Keyboard 3rd Generation despite using so many types of paper lights and accessories. This has built-in 4 LEDs which light on the screen from the bottom and it's easy to read from levels 6-8 and goes till 24 too.
Kindle has a great battery and Paperwhite comes with a capacitive touch too which makes a physical button not needed on this one other than the On-Off button at the bottom.
I really love this Kindle as it's a perfect device for your long time travel and it also allows you to focus on the book as there is no other app installed on this. It's not like a tablet, so you will only read books or go through the already-read books.

Amazon Kindle was my topmost desired device when I was in London, the UK in 2010-11 and I got the chance to buy one when one of my friends bought it for me from the USA and I got it for around Rs 6500, equivalent to around Rands 1500. I really love this Kindle Keyboard and the device has been able to retain its battery capacity for a very long time. I have never faced any loss of books or anything due to the same.
The device has a built-in text-to-audio converter, can play MP3 files in the background and browse basic websites using the free 3G connection. Any normal book can be converted to an audiobook if you want to work on something else while you listen to your favourite book.
The only cons are it's not a touch screen and don't have a backlight to read in the dark. I love this device and since 2012 or so it's been with me through thick and thin and has travelled across the country too.

With the hybrid work and office setup, one item that is desired, required or needed by everyone is the Desktop Monitors and a desk. My Work from Home setup always had a second monitor which I bought for around ZAR 1000 rands long back using one of the gift vouchers sent by Acer when they launched their local online shop. That one remained my second screen throughout 2016-17 to till date to connect for all my blogging and Youtube editing.
Earlier in December 2021, I requested the Samsung Team for Odyssey G9 Gaming Monitor and that one is the best you and money can ever buy. The review is here on this link. Then after it went away, I wanted to check on their Smart Monitor M7 which I also received for some time and it really changed my life for sure before it went away. The pain of missing watching entertainment on Samsung's UHD/AMOLED displays is definitely felt by the eyes and heart.
Coming back to the Smart Monitor which comes in two models - M5 and M7 and both come in 32inch display sizes whereas M5 comes in a 27inch version as well. I got the M7 32inch version for review and totally loved using the same. Before we look at the smart features imbibed in the Samsung Monitors, let's look at the display quality on the same. M7 Smart Monitor has a flat panel design in the black colour body which has a refresh rate of 60Hz. UHD display means the panel has a resolution of 3840x2160 with HDR10 and a contrast ratio of 3000:1. Please don't compare the display and audio quality of this monitor to the Samsung Televisions you may have seen in the shops with QLED, Neo QLED as those are much expensive technology and the displays on the shops play some super hi-quality 8k or 4k videos in loop.
There are some built-in modes which change the contrasts, brightness and sharpness to make the display suitable for your needs like Game mode, Eye-saver mode, ultrawide game view, flicker-free, adaptive picture etc. The adaptive picture is just like smartphone displays which change the display brightness based on the current surrounding and light levels. It's really helpful if you are working in changing lighting conditions to reduce stress on your eyes.
On the Samsung M7 32inch display with an aspect ratio of 16:9, I loved watching the 1080p and 2160p videos on Youtube for sure. There is an inbuilt audio speaker in case you are thinking about the smart systems but as I told you earlier it's made for common zoom or Teams meetings, to do some little background music or even watching some Youtube videos or Netflix and other streaming platforms. It didn't give the punch we all want in our music or movies though but for day-to-day listening in the background, it worked fine. I watched the new Lion King on the same but the feel of the thunder was not there if I used the built-in speakers during the scene where a lot of bulls are running in the trench.
There is a USB type C port to charge your devices (65W) and connect your smartphone to the smart monitor at the bottom of the screen. It not only helps you charge your smartphone but can also connect your device data to be displayed on the screen via mirroring and other features that are unique to the Samsung ecosystem like Dex. I didn't use this feature as I only came to know about it as I was writing this blog post. This one is compatible with Apple Airplay 2 as well which is good for Apple users too and gives them an alternative to Apple monitors.
The best part of this device which I loved is the remote control which has a voice assistant to control your display via Bixby as well if you are using your Samsung smartphone to switch between various apps. But in general, also, the power on/off is great as you don't need to press any physical buttons on the monitor, volume up and down, move to apps in no time, change the source if there are any office tasks to be completed. Also, there are games which can be played using the remote which can be installed on the monitor itself but I didn't want my kids to know off so I didn't switch them On.
Tizen is the operating system Samsung is using for its TVs and this is there in this M7 Smart Monitor as well. There are a wide variety of apps already available in the Samsung Ecosystem from games to streaming platforms to make it enjoyable. You can also use Office 365 and other things to directly make the changes in your presentations and excels and email using an external keyboard and mouse. It's a really nice alternative to switching on your laptop etc as you get the full-screen experience making using excel sheets so comfortable and helps your productivity as well. I have always used multiple screens to cover my different tasks on the go.
Overall, it has a lot of features which make it smarter and better than regular monitors. If you are looking for a gaming monitor, then this is not the right one but if you are looking for a productive desktop monitor which has some entertainment edge the same, Samsung's M7 or even M5 is the right choice. I also heard that Samsung M8 is also in the market now but have not seen it still in South Africa which looks like the Apple Monitors with its colourful setup. I am definitely sure that I will have M8 as my daily driver for the next few years once it reaches South African markets. Samsung M7 Smart Monitor is available for around ZAR 8999 at various online stores whereas the Samsung Online store is selling the same for ZAR 6999. Evetech has the same cheapest going in their clearance sale for ZAR 5999. Honor has become a separate mobile/telecommunication company some months back but has it come out of the Huawei influence in their products and features is what we are going to check out in our blog post along with the review of Honor 50 which landed on my desk in December 2021 for some days. I really loved the device because of its capable camera which as I already knew will be good as Huawei premium phones cameras are still awesome without the Google apps support.
Honor is now competing for the market share in the already flooded market where Oppo, Vivo, Huawei, Xiaomi, One Plus and other brands are trying hard enough with their constant launch in all price segments. Huawei already has upped their mobile game for the value segment in terms of the Y series and Nova series. Every quarter they are launching a new smartphone and keeping us busy too with the reviews and launch event invites.
Honor 50 5G comes with a motto of Wonder in One Take with 3 main features specifically mentioned in all their releases and those are 108MP vlog camera which means they are directly targeting the content creators who are looking for options to carry a small powerful device in their pockets to up their IG reels or TikTok or YT shorts game. The phone software also offers a lot of added features to introduce so many colour palettes and frames to create videos and photos for you which are Instagram ready/Tiktok ready if I can mention that. The phone is totally backing this feature and has gone the extra mile to give the content creators all the necessary tools to be at their best. The more you use the camera, the more features you will be able to identify in the Honor 50 as they have provided options in bulk like stories, switching between cameras during a live shoot, fast motion or slow-motion videos, wireless audio recording using TWS earphones and so much more.
Secondly, the 120Hz curved display brings back all the memories from the Samsung S7 and subsequent range of products where there was a curved screen going towards the edges of the aluminium side panels. The screen is bright and brilliant in Honor 50 and the touch sensitivity is really nice. It really makes playing games so good as every company has now found that this is the point to focus the younger generation of PUBG and other mobile gaming platforms. The 6.5 inches OLED display has a resolution capacity of 2340x1080 pixels and can produce 1.07 billion colours.
Lastly, 66W HonorSuperCharge technology really works wonders as it charges the phone for around 70% in 20 minutes and 100% in about 45 minutes. It really gives it an extra edge to take its 4300mAh battery to recharge almost instantly and serve you for another 10-12 hours or so based on your usage. I found this fast charging to be an added advantage as before you know it, it's fully charged. The power adapter also forms part of the package which is not the case with several other mobile manufacturers.
Coming back to the camera setup the phone takes awesome night shots (low light conditions) and great selfies too. The Honor 50 rear camera setup has 108MP Ultra clear camera, 8MP wide camera, 2MP Bokeh camera and 2MP macro camera in a unique double ring camera layout. This is the same camera layout you will find in the Huawei Nova 9 which also has the same 66W SuperCharge technology. The front camera is a 32MP selfie camera. The phone is capable of shooting 4k video recording using the rear cameras and 1080p using the front camera.
The Frost Crystal body is really stylish and brings a lot of attention as it looks really premium in just 175 grams body. The Magic UI 4.2 looks really similar to what is installed on the Huawei smartphone (EMUI) as Honor didn't change the colours etc so far. Almost all the inbuilt apps of Honor (like the Honor Club, Health etc) are exact replicas of Huawei apps when they used to have GMS is what I felt.
It's a capable smartphone in the price range of R13999 but the company needs to sort out the retail channels and after-sales service centres. I am not much aware of where these smartphones are being sold currently (other than Takealot.com) and how good are the service centres in South Africa to provide screen replacements and other repairs. I am also not aware of the costs associated with the same and time to do so too.
I totally loved the Honor 50 and wanted to have this one for my blogging and content creation journey but it went back after a review period of a month or so. I do love phones which has a powerful camera and this is definitely one after my 2020 lockdown falling in love with Vivo X50 Pro which also only came for review. Currently, I am not using any phone which has such an amazing camera in a point and shoots mode because if the software and hardware are good enough, you don't need to edit much. I believe in presenting the photos without any editing whatsoever by just applying some filters in Instagram mostly but no snapseed or vsco cam etc. If I feel the photos coming out of point and shoot mode of the smartphone camera is good then it's the way I go about it. I don't make many efforts to edit them in a post-processing session and hence I believe this Honor 50 is a good one because it takes good photos in one take.

Samsung launched their foldable devices some 2.8 years back and I fell in love with them right from the start but I never got a chance to review any of these foldable devices either from Huawei or from Samsung. I used to see them hanging on the retail stores asking me to have them sooner or later. Samsung launched newly foldable in August 2021 and I got one in October 2021 which I am currently using. I am using the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G smartphone in Phantom Black Colour. The first thing that attracted me is the black beauty which looks just like the more famously Filmfare awards trophy in India. It gives the same kind of satisfaction in your hands as the trophy will be given to its chosen or deserving winners.
Comparing this device in particular to the top the range Samsung Galaxy S21 series is just a waste of effort as these are made for some other kinds of individuals. The internet is flooded with a lot of such articles and videos but this device in your hands brings the jealously level in the other person to the highest level possible and when you flip the screen it up and down - it's icing on the cake.
No phone other than Nokia's foldable phone can do such flips so smoothly but that is no smartphone. I remember I bought one long back in the year 2007 CDMA version just for the fun of flipping and the additional feature was the torch built into the same which I used so much. Coming back to this beauty in the Phantom Black version is going to increase the other person's intention of killing you to the max.

The 4.2inch flippable smartphone is really sleek and you will feel that if it falls it's going to break the Corning Gorilla glass panels so to protect the same I bought an original Samsung's R1000 Leather Cover in Black as there is no free silicon case in the package and you should not expect the same too. Samsung though as a part of the pre-launch offer gave some goodies to the deserving buyers of the device. Once I installed my leather cover - I even was jealous of myself. The grains on the leather covers are just like the MKBHD skins from D-brand or whatever he calls them. Even after the cover, it's still so small as it weights only 183g to fall into the front pockets of your jeans easily. Though I felt a little scared of losing my phone as for many years we have been conditioned to put large screens in our pockets.
Another feature is that there is no need to unflip the device as you can do most of the things from the Cover screen itself which is now 1.9 inches (Super AMOLED display) with 302ppi making it a beauty. You can easily control a lot of notifications and other widgets and can adjust them as per your needs. I even used some of the images to create a gif that plays on my cover screen and changes wallpapers every time I double-tap the panel. Double-tap enables the screen and you don't need to press the side fingerprint scanner as well as the power button. You can also use the same cover screen to use Samsung Pay which is awesomeness at the best. Double-click on the power button puts you in the camera mode and you can take a photo in 1.0x and up the screen will put you on 0.5x selfie covering more people or can be called as a wide-angle selfie. Swiping left or right brings you to the video feature and you can use the rear cameras to record your videos and the same 1.0x and 0.5x can be enabled with swiping up and down.
I did love the 6.7-inch infinity flex display with AMOLED 2X is 425ppi making it great to see the contrasts and colours of your videos and photographs in Samsung Z Flip 3 5G a great experience. The adaptive display can perform at 60Hz as well as 120Hz and if you are using power saving mode then it reduces the same to 60Hz. The power-saving mode also reduces the 5G connection to 4G as I did the same to reduce my battery consumption to last me till the end of the day. 3300mAh dual battery is only going to last if you are using the phone on wi-fi and disabled some of the advanced features but who cares as you can wirelessly charge the phone as and when required in your car or at home or office desk. I am sure you will have a car that has a wireless charger built into it if you are buying this smartphone.
Another thing I really admired is the sound quality or audio output on this device in the flipped position which is much better than the Bluetooth portable speakers in the Rand 2000 range. It's the loudest audio amongst the S21 series also as far as I have heard. This happens because of the surround sound with Dolby Atmos technology built into the stereo speakers. Also freshwater is not a problem even if you wash the phone under a tap with its IPX8 rating. With its 256GB of storage, I can store an unlimited amount of music on the device so as to enjoy it for the rest of my life without repeating any song twice.

Being a fan of the S Series of smartphones, this phone's camera is not comparable to them nor the Note20 Series also but whatever you got is best as using the One UI v3.1 brings in a lot of software specifically meant for foldable devices. 12MP Ultra-wide camera (f2.2) and 12MP Wide-angle camera (OIS, f1.8) are the dual camera setup next to the cover screen. Selfie camera or Front camera is 10MP (f2.4) which are really great in daylight conditions but the night is a bit of a problem for all these cameras in a direct point and shoot mode. You can overcome certain problems faced in the dark using the Night or the PRO mode available in the camera settings as well as using the flash. I hope Samsung moves forward from its 12MP camera range into the new versions with the S22 series.

Flex mode is also one that makes this device unique which generally you do it using a tripod or gimbal to shoot your photos and videos. It also helps you to do the multi-tasking with the screen divided into 2 parts to open 2 apps at once and this even works with the Google Duo calls. I used it to watch Youtube videos on the top panel and check my emails on the bottom panel after enabling the Labs from the advanced settings. The flexible Ultra-Thin Screen is made durable to withstand up to 200,000 flips as certified by Bureau Veritas and as you flip Samsung logo appears in the folded position which looks really unique and has the same effect as the Apple logo on the MacBook Pro.

There is a little bit of a problem when you are trying to take selfies in the flip mode as the volume up/down button works as a shutter and it changes the centre of gravity for the phone making it susceptible to falling which you can overcome using the gesture mode (palm) to click the selfies or videos or flip the phone such that it rests on your palms with cameras on the left side upwards. Other than that the camera software has all the features available in the S21 series phone along with some unique features like dual preview and auto framing. Overall, it's a fun foldable smartphone from the house of Samsung at the cheapest price ever for a flip device at R21995 (max RRP) and I am really in love with the same.

I am sure you must have gone through almost all the other features about the Armour Aluminium and New colours from famous Tech Gurus and Youtube Geniuses who have the Samsung ecosystem too to showcase the interface along with the smartphone but sadly I am still not in that ecosystem as I have to find a Samsung Watch for my hands and not touched any watch other than the Samsung Watch Gear 2 Classic which I bought long ago and now lying in my tech museum as a dead machine. Fujifilm keeps launching these amazing portable cameras under the brand name Instax and with time the fun factor is becoming higher and higher across all age groups. I became an instant fan of their latest launched Instax Mini40 camera as soon as I saw it in my hands for the first time. I received a little later as I was not able to post the review of the earlier version and in the last quarter of 2021, I intend to clean my slate for all the pending blog posts as I make my way into completing the 9 Years of The Life's Way.
The best part about any Instax Camera is its one-button operation and Instax Mini40 lives up to the expectations of the consumers and fans alike. There is a single button that brings the lens to action and a subsequent pull of the lens enables the selfie mode.
Selfie mode is easy to operate as you can see yourself in the mirror provided on the body of the camera. There is also a macro mode which enables a close-up range of 30-50cm and is quite handy to use and operate.
The Instax Camera mini40 itself looks premium and weighs around 330 grams. You need to insert AA sized batteries to enjoy the camera along with the normal Instax mini Films pack (10 sheets). The film ejection is automatic just like any other Instax camera and miniLink printer. The smaller compact body is in black colour in a leather-look along with premium silver accents on the borders.
Some of the technical details in the mini40 lens are a focal length of 60mm, a real viewfinder with a target spot and automatic exposure control from Lv 5.0 to 14.5 (ISO 800). The film takes around 90 seconds to develop and after 300 seconds of non-operation it automatically switches off. The shooting range is 0.3m and beyond with 0.3 to 0.5m is for selfies. The programmed shutter speed is from 1/2 to 1/250 seconds and slow synchros for low light conditions. There is a constant firing flash (automatic light adjustment) with recycle time: 6.5 seconds or less (when using new batteries), Effective flash range: 0.3m - 2.7m.
I have observed is that the photo quality in this new camera is much better than any other Instax camera I have used so far. The Instax website never tells the megapixels they put in their lens as compared to the other cameras in the market but I am sure these cameras are not even 5Megapixels. I have used 5MP Panasonic Hybrid camera FZ5 which used to take awesome images and all my London, Singapore and other images till 2013 are from that camera.
The configuration is almost similar to a funkier mini11 camera so if you want to take on a retro look then buy mini40 else if you want to bring colours into your hands buy the mini11 which is a little cheaper than mini40. There are only 2 buttons on mini40 for ease of operation and point and shoot - one button is to click the picture and another one is to enable the lens and switch on the camera. A little push on the lens switches off the camera. It can be used by the kids also and I took to my son's school and gave a personal photograph to all his teachers using the same. They were really happy as they glued the same on the school walls instantly.
Overall Instax Mini40 is something that is portable, makes heads turn by its retro looks, ease of operation, battery-powered, same Instax film used in other versions of the Instax series cameras, accessories to make it all fun with your family and friends. The retail price of Instax Mini40 is around R1399 at takealot retailer. I am sure there will be some Black Fridays sale coming up in this festive season.
