Stationery Review 262 - Caran d'ache 849 Ballpoint Pen Nespresso India Green (GBP 18)

Hi Friends,

I always wanted to buy this Caran d'ache 849 ball point pen since I first saw the same. I bought the same in one of the sales from Cult Pens UK and brought it here. This is a nice Nespresso India Green Limited Edition that I really loved, as this is made from the aluminium used in the capsules. Check it out!

Caran d'ache 849 is really a famous pen that comes in thousands of different body designs, though the refill remains the same as Goliath, which can write 8000 meters in one recharge. This is the longest I have ever heard a jotter refill can go in any pen from any brand. This pen has been collaborated with a lot of brands to give them as a gift to many of their customers. I really loved this one and always wanted to have one, and this one I got when Cult Pens had it on special or with discounts. The price of this pen in South Africa is around ZAR 595 at takealot.com, but it's the regular body designs that are cheaper. The special designer editions can go for more than ZAR 8000 as well and start from much more than ZAR 595.

Stationery Review 261 - Kaweco Collection Iridescent Pearl Fountain Pen (GBP 21)

Hi Friends,

I bought this particular colour despite all the colours that are available from Kaweco. The pearl's shine attracted me towards the same. I didn't get it anywhere in South Africa but found it on Cult Pens, UK website and ordered it immediately. Check it out!

This is really a lightweight pen with an acrylic body design. The shine is really pearlish and comes with an ink cartridge in blue coloured ink. I also got 6 ink cartridges for free when I ordered it and chose Smokey Grey. This is a coloured ink that you buy with lots of hopes, but always get disappointed because you can use pencils directly rather than the pen. The nib choices in the Kaweco range are from Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad and Extra Broad.

Stationery Review 260 - Parker 51 Mechanical Pencil

Hi Friends, 

I bought this Parker 51 Mechanical Pencil that I had wanted for so long. This is a great design, one with a gold-plated cap and clip. I bought this from an auction for ZAR 700. Check it out! 

This is what we can call luxury by being gold plated with an even number to represent the batch and date, etc, to check on the validity of the same. This is really a great, balanced pencil that I am definitely keeping in my collection of writing instruments. I should name my collection something like lekhni or kalam or something on those lines!

Hi Friends, 

I bought this Lamy Joy Calligraphy Fountain Pen set from Facebook Marketplace. The new set is priced at ZAR 1499 only, but the quality you get from Lamy is awesome. The sub nibs are something if you start using, will make you fall in love. The best part is that these nibs are easily replaceable on any of the Safari fountain pen range as well. This I still have to try for myself, though. 

This is one of the best calligraphy pens available in the market for the general public who wants quality and is learning the art of calligraphy. I have several calligraphy products that I have bought over the years, and I will showcase them in future videos.

Stationery Review 247 - Lamy Safari Ball Pen (M) Aqua Sky (ZAR 328)

Hi Friends,

I bought this Lamy Safari Ball pen from Exclusive Books at a 50% discount. When I wrote with the same at the store as they used nice Lamy paper to try the stuff, it wrote extra smoothly. But on my paper, it's not as buttery smooth as it was on a good paper. But nonetheless, the pen writes beautifully as it's a Lamy Safari. Lightweight, Acrylic body design, nice triangular grip section, big refill and click sound. Check it out! 

I really loved the design of this Lamy Safari Ball Pen, as I was only focused on getting Lamy Fountain Pens. I will try to get the Lamy Safari Roller gel pen and the mechanical pencil as well in the days to come.

Stationery Review 246 - 3 Reasons Why Leather Pen Cases are a Game Changer for Everyday Carry

Hi Friends,

I bought this Everyday Carry leather pen case, which also includes a notepad and space for an iPad or MacBook, neither of which I currently own. The leather is really nice to touch and feel. 28 pens can easily fit the elastic loops, and the elastic is free flowing, meaning if one pen is small and the other big, then the loops can be increased or decreased manually to fit the pens. Check it out! 

I really love leather products, and over the years, I have got many of them in my stationery collection. This is one of the best ones I have had in a while. I have seen a similar kind of leather journal that's available at Sandton Stationery & Print Shop inside Sandton City mall. The journal we are talking about is specifically made for the shop by their own vendor, who creates these kinds of leather journals.

Hi Friends,

I bought this Senator Germany Ball Pen from an online retailer named Shopclues, as they used to have deals daily. After a gap of 12 years or so, the pen is still working means something and tells that the German ink is great. 

Senator Ball Pens are generally used by brands for merchandise giveaways in India. I have not seen it yet in South Africa, but I may be wrong as well.

Stationery Review 238 - Parker 25 Fountain Pen (Steel)

Hi Friends, 

Parker 25 Stainless Steel Fountain Pen comes with a steel medium nib and a silicon ink converter. This one has been out of the market since 1989, and it has just been replaced by the Parker Vector fountain pen, now in the modern world. As I was writing with the same, I could feel that it's just a similar writing experience to my Parker Vector fountain pens. The nib design is also similar as it's curved on the end where they are joined with the feed. 

Moonman, a brand from China, also released its own version of this body design called Moonman B25 Model in the fountain pen range. The same is available at WriteSpoke in Johannesburg, South Africa, for around ZAR 350 each, and the ballpoint version is for ZAR 300 only. I bought this Smiggle Pencil Case. The same is available at the Takealot online store for around ZAR 300. It's really a nice case which can also take 6 pens, a small notepad and some other accessories. It can also be used to carry your passports and other things when you travel. Check it out!

Stationery Review 232 - Legami Magnetic Clip (ZAR 93)

Hi Friends, 

I bought these Legami Magnetic Clips from Exclusive Books in the Benmore Gardens store when they were about to close their doors. The stuff was going at a 50% discount, so I thought of getting two of them. One is in heart shape, and the one in avocado shape. Check them out! 

These are perfect for your books, diary, papers as a clip to hold them together or as a pen loop with your ball pens, etc. It can also keep your wired earphones or cables together as well, but the magnet is not that strong for the same.

Stationery Review 229 - Pilot Juice Gel Pen 0.7mm (ZAR 25)

Thanks to Sandton Stationery & Print for Pilot Juice gel pens to test them out. I got them in two colours here, which are Grape and Light Blue. There is a 24 pen pack that's also available at the store. A retractable pen with newly developed "Juice" ink for a juicy, smooth writing experience! 24 bright colours with remarkable durability in water and light! A durable lift-clip which can hold tight thanks to the coil spring equipped inside. I got these 2 from the Sandton Stationery & Print shop to do the video. Stationery Review 228 - Pilot Vpen Fountain Pen (M) ZAR 80

Hi Friends, 

Pilot Vpen is a disposable fountain pen that comes in various colours of ink. The pen is filled with ink in its barrel and has a huge ink capacity. This one lasts longer than any other fountain pen, as the ink capacity is definitely between 3.5 to 5ml at least. These pens are available at Sandton Stationery & Print Shop in Sandton City Mall. These are priced at around ZAR 80, and you can get them for around ZAR 65. Check them out! These were provided to us by Sandton Stationery & Print for this video so many thanks to them for the same. 

The Pilot sells these pens as disposable fountain pens, but if you have the tools and the inks, then you can experiment by taking out the feed mechanism and filling the ink tank again. It's really easy, but you need the pliers, etc, along with something soft to not destroy the mechanism. I have done it before and will showcase to you as well on these pens soon enough.
