#TheLifesWayReviews SHAKUNTALA DEVI @PrimeVideoIN #Biography #Drama #Movie

Hi Friends,

It's happening now as some of the good movies are getting launched on the digital platforms and you can watch them from the leisure of your homes with whatever you want to drink and eat along with the same. Amazon Prime Video launched one on the life of Shakuntala Devi also known as the human-computer played by Vidya Balan on 31st July 2020. The movie is written and directed by Anu Menon and produced by Sony Pictures Networks India and Vikram Malhotra of Abundantia Entertainment. Vidya Balan has come on the silver screen after Mission Mangal was released in 2019.

Vidya Balan has showcased the life of Shakuntala Devi who was a world-renowned mathematician who could do a lot of mental calculations using Vedic Maths without any school education. Her life's journey from a young girl to a young woman and then falling in love and getting married and becoming a mother and putting her career on hold. Again starting from scratch and the life of the daughter Anupama played by Sanya Malhotra of Dangal fame as a touring kid and teenager along with her mother tells the story of frustrations and sacrifices one has to make when you are famous, mighty and rich.
#TheLifesWayReviews SHAKUNTALA DEVI @PrimeVideoIN #Biography #Drama #Movie
Jisshu Sengupta plays the husband of Shakuntala Devi as Paritosh Banerji and looks handsome in all his scenes and acted very well and looks charming too. Amit Sadh too plays Anupama's husband Ajay Abhaya Kumar and a small-time is spent on the love story between the two. The movie is really good to watch with the whole family as it gives an insight into the life of Shakuntala Devi whose puzzle books were very popular when I was doing my engineering and later she also started working on astrology and cooking books.

The movie is 127 minutes long and is available on Amazon Prime Video and some of the songs are really peppy as the music director is Sachin-Jigar and the background score is provided by Karan Kulkarni. Biographical films are really close to my heart and I always try to watch if I am unable to read their biography in books or so. Vidya has lived the life of Shakuntala Devi and she has brought the same magic again as she was in Parineeta and various other movies.

It's a story about an ambitious woman who dares to reach the pinnacle of mathematics where women were not given the same level of respect. Then she struggles to leave her love of maths to fall in love and become a mother and once mother tries to direct her daughter as per her wishes or what she thinks will be good for her. She always finds a solution to any problem using her charm and courage and maths. The movie is a must-watch if you are Vidya Balan's fan or if you are a fan of Shakuntala Devi books. RATING 4/5

Cheers!!!

#TheLifesWayReviews NAUKAR VAHUTI DA @PrimeVideoIN #Punjabi #Comedy #Movie

Hi Friends,

Naukar Vahuti Da is a Punjabi Comedy movie on the likes of Chachi 420 a famous Kamal Hassan movie from 1997. The movie is directed by Smeep Kang and stars Binnu Dhillon and Kulraj Randhawa along with Jaswinder Bhalla, Upasna Singh and Gurpreet Ghuggi. The movie has all the right elements to touch your heart and also the cut to cut scenes are non-stop fun and laughter especially the ones between Binnu and Gurpreet and also Binnu and Jaswinder Bhalla.

The story is about a husband and wife who gets separated due to some issues between them and she also threatens to take the custody of the child too. The father just to stay in touch with her daughter starts working in the wife's parents house as a driver. Sooner than later more people get involved in the driver's life played by an older Binnu Dhillon and the truth is caught by the daughter and they try to bring their family together once again.
#TheLifesWayReviews NAUKAR VAHUTI DA @PrimeVideoIN #Punjabi #Comedy #Movie
One thing is for sure that this movie is not only entertaining but also the comical timing of all these Punjabi stars needs no introduction. The movie is available on Amazon Prime Video platform for your viewing pleasure and can be watched with the whole family. It's also good to see that Binnu Dhillon is now acting in the lead role instead of a character actor where other singers/actors play the main lead. Kulraj looks beautiful in her role but has little to do in her character. Upasana does what she does best, plays the Kulraj father's sister who is the love interest of Jaswinder Bhalla who lives in their home on rent. The scenes between them are really full of comedy. Do watch the same this weekend if you have not still on Prime Video and go on a 120-minute comedy ride with Smeep Kang and Binnu Dhillon. RATING 3.5/5

Cheers!!!

#TheLifesWayReviews LOOTCASE @DisneyplusHSVIP #Movies #Lootcase #Comedy

Hi Friends,

It's been a while that I have written about some of the movies and TV series I have watched and today I got the time to write about the same. Disney+ Hotstar is bringing a lot of great entertainment which includes some 7 Bollywood movies which are going to be showcased exclusively on this OTT platform as a part of their Multiplex Initiative. The one I was waiting for is Lootcase which stars Kunal Khemu, Gajraj Rao, Vijay Raaz, Rasika Dugal and Ranvir Shorey in main roles.

The story is a common middle-class hard-working man who toils day and night to earn a meagre living and not able to fulfil his family wishes of going to Shimla and Water Kingdom. Kunal Khemu plays his character really well as Nandan Kumar who is married to Lata played by Rasika Dugal and they have a son Aayush played by Aryan Prajapati. His life changes when one night after completing his duty at printing press he found a suitcase filled with 10 Crore Rupees and a file which he was not aware of till the end belonging to a Minister Patil played by Gajraj Rao. The series of events that happens after he gets the bag and tries to hide it from everyone is what makes Kunal Khemu's acting unique and brings back a lot of memories from Hum Hain Raahi Pyaar Ke where he was a small naughty kid.
#TheLifesWayReviews LOOTCASE @DisneyplusHSVIP #Movies #Lootcase #Comedy
Meanwhile, Vijay Raaz plays a gangster who also is after the bag named Lootcase by Nandan along with the Cop Madhav Kolte played by Ranvir Shorey. Vijay Raaz promotes a lot of National Geographic Channel and wildlife in this movie and each scene will be etched in your memory for a lifetime. Gajraj Rao plays the perfect cunning and selfish minister who knows how to turn events into his own favour. All his dialogues are very well written and overall the movie dialogues is something that the writers took time to write and are worth every penny.

Fox Star Studio is the production house behind this 132 minutes of situational comedy directed by Rajesh Krishnan and story is written by Kapil Sawant and Rajesh himself. The movie also has some good background music and you should definitely watch it with your family this weekend. In the end, this movie has three strong pillars which will entertain you the most - Kunal, Vijay and Gajraj. The small kid Aryan too is entertaining in his scenes and Rasika has played her role well and though this one is released on Digital Platforms but has all the parameters of a great movie. The ending though is a shortcut taken and reminded me of Ek Chalis ki Last Local. RATING 3.5/5

Chintu Ka Birthday @ZEE5Premium #Movie #Drama #ChintuKaBirthday

Hi Friends,

Chintu Ka Birthday is a Hindi situational drama movie on Zee5 set in Baghdad, Iraq in 2004 and is a story of a family stuck there despite being Indian citizens but came to Iraq on Nepal's passports so India didn't repatriate them during those times. The family features Vinay Pathak as Madan Tiwari (father), Tillotama Shome as Sudha Tiwari (mother), Seema Pahwa as Nani of Chintu, Vedant Chibber as Chintu who looks so cute, Bisha Chaturvedi as Lakshmi - sister of Chintu. They live in the house rented from Khalid Massou as Mahdi. All hell broke loose when the American forces enter their house and interrupts the preparations for the Chintu's birthday. The movie is written and directed by Satyanshu Singh and Devanshu Kumar. It premiered on the Zee5 platform on 5th June 2020.

Madan plays an optimistic, loving, and understanding father who believes in Do Good, Be Good to all, and showcases the same really well till the end. Despite being beaten badly by the soldiers he still keeps his calm and optimism so that Chintu has no effect and as it's his big day he wants all happiness for him. Sudha is a great partner who not only helps him in all his endeavors and the chemistry between the couple is pure love. This is one of the movies which really has soul and tears will fall from your eyes now and then. Lakshmi as the elder sister totally loves Chintu and even fights with her grandmother (Nani) to don't spoil the occasion of Chintu's 6th birthday. Chintu has been waiting for his birthday cake since his last birthday as the cake shops and other establishments were either bombed or were not operating during the crisis time in Baghdad. Nani's character is the one who blames Madan for all their problems and well played by Seema Ji.
#TheLifesWayReviews - Chintu Ka Birthday @ZEE5Premium #Movie #Drama #ChintuKaBirthday
It's a story which will remind you of the movie Life is Beautiful but in an Indian way where kid's birthday is of great importance to the family. Madan and Sudha do all efforts to make the cake at home and when they get barged in by the soldiers and reprimanded, the cake gets burnt making Lakshmi cry and at that moment, I am sure you will cry too. Chintu ka Birthday is only 83 minutes long and showcases the love and care this family has for each other. Despite getting to know they are not the culprits they don't reveal the name of the person behind the material found in their home. That is the biggest sacrifice any person can do to the locals who have also adopted them in their lives as showcased by the Mahdi Bhai who comes all the way from a far location for Chintu's birthday.

The American soldiers (played by Reginald L Barnes and Nathan Scholz) who are sent to Iraq in search of Weapons of Mass Destruction find themselves on the edge of their emotions as they get attacked continuously by the locals and their friends are losing lives in this war. This makes them trust no one and Madan becomes the latest victim of their anger as they found Mahdi hiding in the storeroom and later runs away and one of the soldiers gets shot in the neck and gets injured. This is one movie you can definitely watch with your family and it will make you love your children more than anything. All the actors have acted in the movie really well and you will be amazed to see that in a single house the whole movie is shot and a story that really touches your heart. It's a movie that will make you value your life more than ever and taking care of your family and friend's top priority if not by service due to location gaps than at least by your kind words.  Go Watch It on Zee 5 Online Platform. RATING 4/5

SHADAA @PrimeVideoIN #Punjabi #Comedy #Movie

Hi Friends,

Shadaa means someone who is having trouble finding a wife in Punjabi language and that's what the whole movie is about and this is one of the best Punjabi movies I have watched and this one is 2nd top-grossing Punjabi movies (1st being Carry on Jatta 2) of all times. The irony is that the total revenue of the movie is just equal to the first-day performance of any Bollywood movie by Aamir, Salman, or Sharukh Khan and from the recent times from Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan called WAR.

Shadaa is written and directed by Jagdeep Sidhu (Nikka Zaildar fame) and stars Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa in the lead roles. The movie was released on 21st June 2019 in cinemas and I watched the same on Amazon Prime Video platform some days back. Sonam Bajwa makes a special appearance in the opening song ''Tommy di Jeans''. Diljit plays Chadta, a wedding photographer who has gone past his 20s and now in his 30s and many girl parents have discarded him as a good groom. It's shown in the movie that they used to have around 45 chickens and are left with only 9 as they grilled and cooked all others to serve it to bride families who visit to see their boy. Ravinder Mand plays Jalandhar who works as an assistant in his photography business.
#TheLifesWayReviews SHADAA @PrimeVideoIN #Punjabi #Comedy #Movie
Neeru Bajwa plays Vanjhali, a wedding organizer but still unmarried due to her own choices and 2 years elder to Chadta. The movie is all about Chadta trying to woo Vanjhali during the various marriage events in Punjab and Rajasthan. The movie does offer a fresh perspective as earlier all Punjabi movie revolves after trying to find an NRI boy or girl to go to Canada or any other foreign countries. This movie doesn't use that theme though the marriage showcased have one of the NRI's involved. She is not given as much importance as the focus is more on the character of Chadta and his family but nonetheless, she brings the beauty and glamour on the screen.

The movie raises many questions despite being comedy on the equality rights between the bride and the groom's families which really touches your heart. Diljit is able to play his character amazingly well and the act with the plastic dolls will make you laugh out loud or maybe rolling on the floor. The comedy is mainly between the Chadta and his parents played by Anita Devgan and Hardeep Gill.  To add to the fire of his family and friends, a Pandit Ji tells that he won't be married in the next 7 births as has 365 marriages in his earlier birth and that's a funny story in itself. There are no extras used to bring in comedy scenes and being the focus on Canon cameras and photography, the photographs are showcased in great light along with several new ideas for pre-wedding shoots.

The movie really offers something unique and the love chemistry is totally amazing between the lead artists and we are seeing them again after the famous Jatt vs Juliet series of films. I totally love Punjabi films and the comedy punches in this one really made my stomach ache due to laughing non-stop. Enjoy the songs and the great locations from the Rajasthan - Jaipur and many other areas. It's the best 2 hours you can spend during any of these days to destress yourself and the best part is that even if you don't know Punjabi, Amazon Prime Video offers subtitles in many languages of your choice. RATING 4.5/5
