The immersive gaming space will offer newbies and hardcore gamers alike the chance to play the games they love, challenge their friends, meet the gaming celebs they look up to, feel the thrill of professional tournaments with huge prize pools on the line, discover new tech, and personally connect with their fellow gamers over four epic days in their very own happy place, come 28 to 31 August at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec.
Telkom VS Gaming Brings the Speed
To create a buffer-free zone, Comic Con Africa is proud to continue its high-speed connectivity partnership with Telkom. The Telkom VS Gaming Main Stage in Hall 5 will feature the Top 8 Masters CS2 and Top 4 High School Esports League (HSEL) CS2 tournaments. The Top 8 Rocket League Championship teams and Top 4 HSEL Rocket League teams will be live on the Championship Stage, while Telkom’s Mobile Gaming Zone in collaboration with Samsung, will hand out spot prizes for daily winners. At the eDiski (EAFC) free-to-play zone, everyone belongs – it’s the opportunity to grab a controller, bring a crew, and just press play. Fans can also expect Sim Racing from Openserve.
TTGE Fires on All Cylinders
This is where players rise to glory. The Toyota Gaming Engine Room is rolling out daily free-to-play tournaments across fan-favourite titles like EAFC, Street Fighter, Brawlhala, Gran Turismo 7, and Clash Royale. Across mobile, console, and sim racing setups, players can compete for daily cash prizes and bragging rights. This is where skill meets ambition, and everyone’s invited.
Doritos: Bigger, Bolder, Crunchier
Doritos will be igniting the boldness inside all gamers, bringing Tekken 8 and more to the Doritos Crunch Arena. High-stakes challenges will see fans battle for cash prizes and kudos in tournaments held exclusively at Comic Con Africa with a leaderboard format. RGB Gaming: For The Next Generation
For the younger gamers RGB Gaming returns, bringing the battleground for gaming tournaments for up-and-coming gaming stars, along with a massive free-to-play area offering Fortnite and Minecraft. RGB’s tournaments will include daily competitive action through their Premier School League, spotlighting the next generation of young South African gamers. Primary school and high school players will go head-to-head, bringing a vibrant sense of competition and camaraderie to the con floor. Alongside the youth leagues, the Premier Tournaments remain open to all, giving everyday gamers a shot at glory in a space crafted for pros. Anyone could be walking away with a winning title.
Red Bull brings the heat with their EAFC ’25 tournament, offering up epic prizes and non-stop action. Whether fans go to win or just for the fun, the Red Bull free-to-play zone will also keep the energy high and the games rolling.
Nintendo Switch 2 Activates
Nintendo is bringing a Switch 2 activation to Comic Con Africa, with Mario Kart featuring alongside other free-to-play titles, AND awesome Nintendo merch ready to be snapped up!
