#TheLifesWayCaptures - @GlobalVillageAE #GlobalVillage #Dubai IV #PhotoReviews

Hi Friends,

Global Village is something which can't be completed in 2-3 posts so the series will continue for some time and I bring to you Asia special in this post where I have tried to showcase some of the countries from the East of the world.

China is one of the biggest countries and runs itself like a warrior and is not afraid of any other country. Chinese manufactured products are sold worldwide and you will have one in your hands too. I have plenty of stuff that's from there because the value it brings to the table is immense.

Japan is another country that is really a world leader in terms of electronics and stationery items for school kids and offices alike. This is one place I would really want to go and check out in person as I really want to see Mt. Fuji, Tokyo and Osaka and other cities

Thailand needs no introduction and the most air traffic from India will be from any Indian city to Bangkok and adjoining islands. From temples, monks, street food, beaches, nightlife to shopping the city offers everything.

Vietnam if not famous for anything else Rambo in his movies made it known globally as American movies are focussed around defeating the soldiers from the war times. If you see western media will showcase all action movies will have something related to the Vietnam War which is now more focussed towards the middle east. The Philippines is known for its beaches and great fruits and is worth a visit.

Japan is one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world. I am a big fan of this country and in my lifetime I would want to visit the same.

India is always known for its street food called Chaat in the Hindi language. My life revolves around Chaat as I am a big fan of this kind of food. In my day to day living, I make any veggies, any snack into some kind of Chaat with my special masalas that I carry in my car every day which means even blended pizza and pasta.

In the end, Global Village will bring back memories from wherever you are in the world and there will be something new to learn or to revisit what you love about a particular country. Go check it out and carry some cash too as many shops don't do digital payments!

@HuaweiZA Partners with #DTPS for Their #SASeedsfortheFuture Program

Hi Guys,

Leading ICT Solutions provider, Huawei, celebrated the send-off ceremony of their first Seeds for the Future students from South Africa, in partnership with the Department of Telecommunication’s and Postal Services (DTPS). The training opportunity has been awarded to 10 South African students who will receive international training through Huawei’s program in Beijing and Shenzhen, China.

Huawei’s Seeds for the Future Program is a globally recognised flagship social investment program that takes students from all around the world to receive ICT, at Huawei’s Shenzhen and Beijing branches. Every year, Huawei invites students to discuss future trends and show them how they can harness new opportunities. The name of the program represents Huawei’s desire to nurture promising young professionals with the aim to reach all countries they operate in. Huawei South Africa CEO, Mr. Steven Wu said, “It prides us to finally see this initiative kick-off in South Africa as well. The question often arose when this will happen for South Africa? We are glad that through our focus in investing in local institutions of higher learning, and our perseverance in strategic partnership with the DTPS, the breakthrough is in the horizon, and we wish our young talent returns with the required optimism and skills”

Over the past seven years, the program has been implemented in 67 countries and regions across five continents, benefiting over 15,000 students from 150 universities. More than 1,700 university students from around the world have taken a study trip to the Huawei headquarters, including more than 800 visitors in 2015. The beneficiary students are from various universities and universities of technology across South Africa, and are a vibrant mix of both male and female outstanding students. Tsholofelo Mashwabi, form Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University said, “It is not enough to be in the confines of a class room and lab when you aim to be a future leader in this ever evolving ICT space. I thank Huawei so much for offering me the opportunity to explore beyond boarders what the offerings of ICT are. I am truly excited about visiting China and getting a first world experience of ICT.”
@HuaweiZA Partners with #DTPS for Their #SASeedsfortheFuture Program
The partnership between Huawei and the DTPS has been long standing and positively breaking barriers in the local ICT environment. This initiative is part of the roll out of the Cooperation Contract signed between both parties earlier this year, which centered on capacity building, the joint Innovation and Experience Centre, and skills training. Minister of the DTPS Dr. Siyabonga Cwele said, “We are committed as the government to see South Africa be globally competitive. There is no better place to invest then in our youth who are the future of this country. The seeds should remember that they carry the hopes and dreams of this nation. We thank Huawei providing this platform and for the partnership.”

No one can say for sure what the future information society will be like. Huawei remains optimistic by bringing together young people of different cultures and backgrounds. Several years from now, they will unleash their potential and contribute to global progress. “Huawei is committed to doing its part to shape the future. This is our most heavily invested CSR activity, and we will continue to invest in the program over the long term.” added Mr. Hu.

Through the Seeds for the Future program, Huawei seeks to arrange for students to study cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, LTE, and cloud computing, and offer those opportunities for hands-on practice in Huawei's most advanced labs. Also, this will help them learn more about Chinese culture and gain cross-cultural work experience in a global business environment. What makes this program unique is that it also offers first-hand learning opportunities through interaction with Huawei staff and visits to Huawei laboratories, where program participants can engage in hands-on practice and witness live demonstrations of the latest ICT technology.

The Chinese Economic and Commercial Counselor Mr. Rong Yansong said: “Thanks to SA government and the DTPS Minister himself for providing support to Chinese Enterprises in South Africa, the cooperation between China and South Africa will benefit the African continent and people, wish the students can be experience ambassadors on their return to SA.”

The learners are from the Tshwane University of Technology, Central University of Technology, Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, Cape Peninsular University of Technology and the Durban University of Technology. They are third year or B-Tech students in Communications Networks, Information Technology, Software Development and Business Applications. Some African countries that have been part of the initiative include, Kenya Namibia, Botswana, Nigeria, Zimbabwe and Ghana.

@HuaweiZA Leads in #2015 Patent Application Rankings #WIPO

Hi Guys,

The number of international patent applications submitted to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) reached 218,000 last year, setting a new record, according to a press release of WIPO on March 16. Regarding numbers of filed patents, by country, the United States remained the largest, while China saw the fastest growth; by enterprise, Huawei Technology retained its leading position among global enterprises.

In 2015, the United States submitted a total of about 57,400 applications, followed by Japan and China with about 44,200 and 29,800 applications filed, respectively. According to WIPO, China, South Korea and Israel saw the biggest growth in patent applications last year, with respective increase rates being 16.8%, 11.5% and 7.4%.

Among enterprises, Huawei ranked first for the second year with 3,898 applications, followed by Qualcomm with 2,442 applications and China's ZTE with 2,155 applications.
In the opening ceremony of the fourth session of the 12th The National People’s Congress (NPC) held on March 5, Prime Minister Li Keqiang said in a speech entitled “Report on the Work of the Government “that China should improve its protection and application of intellectual property. Not long ago, telecommunications giant Huawei renewed a global patent cross-licensing agreement with Ericsson. In fact, communications and technology companies agree that protecting innovation and intellectual property is essential in further developing the smartphone industry, and patent plays a hugely important role in the development of smartphone manufacturers, and is the basis for transnational enterprises to lead in innovation and achieve growth. Huawei’s upward momentum in its global development clearly underscores this point.

As an emerging technology company seeing fast growth in the smartphone era, Huawei has performed especially well in terms of patents. Huawei has obtained a large number of patents not only in China but also in overseas areas, making it qualified to be included into the "giant-class" and the competition to its Western counterparts in the mobile phone industry.
According to the 2015 annual report of the European Patent Office (EPO), Huawei ranks ninth in Europe with 498 granted applications, and remains among the top 10 in Europe with this number. In the 2015 European Patent Application rankings, Huawei was fourth with 1,953 patent applications, and first with 1,197 patent applications in the digital communications field in terms of differentiation techniques. At present, Huawei is growing steadily with an annual increase of 1,300 patent applications globally.

As we know, Huawei has a considerable patent reserve and is rapidly acquiring new patents. At the same time, Huawei has also entered into patent cross-licensing agreements with Apple and Ericsson. So as one of the leaders in the global communications and technology industries, Huawei is not only working to build its own intellectual property reserve nut also cooperating with other big players to observe and maintain order in the field of patents.

Possession of high-quality patents is the engine to drive Huawei forward. Patent applications on their own do not give the applicant any advantages, as only granted patents can be used to protect interests. In fact, in international patent litigation cases only patents granted overseas can be considered as the legal basis.

Over the past few decades, Huawei has accumulated a leading number of overseas patents. By 2015, Huawei Consumer BG had more than 9,000 global patent applications, including more than 2,000 patents obtained in China and 1,100 in overseas areas like Europe, America and other regions.

Huawei clearly enjoys a considerable advantage in patents, which is considered as crucial intellectual ammunition in international competition. Over the next 10 or 20 years, this basic advantage will help propel Huawei forward, allow it to focus on technological innovation and product development, to maintain stable and efficient growth, and to solidify its global competitive advantages.

Wishing Huawei All the very best in all their future endeavors.

Cheers!!!

@HuaweiZA - A #Brand To Watchout For In 2016 #Smartphones

Hi Guys,

The Huawei Consumer Business Group announced it has shipped over 100 million smartphones worldwide in 2015, cementing its position as one of the top three consumer device companies in the world. Over the last five years, shipments of Huawei's smartphones have increased more than 3,000 percent, from 3 million in 2010 to 100 million in 2015. This year’s performance represents an important achievement as Huawei continues to grow and launch several global flagship devices each year that are focused on the premium market and integrate the best in creativity, design, fashion, photography and performance.
Steady Growth in Smartphone Shipment
“Huawei’s success is not accidental. These results directly reflect the consumer demand for our products, and we’re proud to deliver premium smartphone devices to people around the world,” said Kevin Ho, President, Huawei Consumer Business Group Handset product line. “The smartphone landscape is constantly changing as people look for devices that let them extend the boundaries of what’s possible. We look forward to continued growth in 2016 as we expand our product portfolio and partner with some of the world’s top brands to bring the best devices to market.”

In 2015 Huawei recorded a 30 percent increase in its mid-to-high-end smartphone shipments, including:
  • Through September, 4 million P8 smartphone shipments, 7.5 million P7 smartphone shipments, and 6.5 million Mate 7 smartphone shipments.
  • Huawei’s Nexus 6P smartphone made in collaboration with Google, which made headway in North America.
This success is a result of Huawei’s extensive research and development efforts, diversification across markets, omni-channel strategy and the brand loyalty inspired by its products.

Research and Development:
Huawei’s expansive R&D efforts set the standard for the most unique and innovative consumer devices to hit the market in 2014. Last year Huawei invested 14.2 percent ($6.3 billion USD) of its annual revenue in R&D while securing 76,687 patents, 18,000 of which apply to Huawei devices. Huawei has established 16 research laboratories in various countries including China, Germany, Sweden, Russia and India. Each R&D center is chosen for a strategic purpose. For example, Huawei’s research institute in Japan focuses on materials and technology, utilizing Japan’s spirit of pursuing perfection. In Paris, Huawei collaborates with the Paris Aesthetics Center to consult French luxury designers to ensure its smartphones reflect the most cutting-edge fashion trends. With R&D as its foundation, Huawei has achieved an important balance constantly improving its product concept, hardware architecture and EMUI user interface.

Diversification and Omni-channel Strategy:
2015 marked a significant shift in Huawei’s market strategy. While Huawei experienced excellent results in the mid-to-low-end market, this year it launched a series of premium smartphone to expand its portfolio into the high-end market, attracting attention from consumers across the globe. To meet the growing demand for Huawei devices, Huawei established over ten thousand experience centers and franchised stores in China and will open 1,000 additional stores in 2016. By leveraging brick-and-mortar establishments where consumers can hold and try using the devices, quality online and offline retailers and streamlined distribution channels, Huawei is expanding the reach of its devices to people everywhere.

Looking Forward:
Huawei employs the world’s most elite engineers and developers to deliver exceptional results. Driven by their passion for perfection, the Huawei team works tirelessly to provide consumers with the best experience and develop products that are truly worth pursuing. 2015 signifies an important milestone for Huawei, with its record-breaking domestic smartphone shipments and recognition as a top-three smartphone brand worldwide. Huawei is confident that it will continue to disrupt the global smartphone market in 2016. For more information, please visit: http://consumer.huawei.com/cn

Congratulations and All the very best to the brand and I hope I will be using one of their smartphone devices as my day to day phone. Follow the brands on twitter and facebook.

Cheers!!!

Product Launch - Gionee ELIFE E6 Smartphone

Hi Guys,

It was some lucky moments when you want something to be there and you get that sooner than you have thought. I wanted to attend some more of the Product launch events and got an invite from one of the famous event management and brand building company managing a lot of big clients like LG and many more.

It was very humble on their part to invite me to the Gionee E6 launch event which was scheduled on 3 Oct at The Oberoi Hotel, New Delhi. The Royal ballroom was fully decorated with circular tables and a debate was going on "China vs Made in China" paradox headed by none other than Rajiv Makhni.

It felt great to see the person whom we loved on NDTV and also seeing him live & talking about the stuff you love to listen was awesome.

Never ever I knew about the company but after watching an entrepreneur talking about his vision I felt inspired a lot. Arvind R Vohra, Director Syntech Technology is the guy I am talking about.

The panel included Nikhil Mathur, Subhash Chandra, Rajat Aggarwal, P. K. Roy and Bharat Nagpal.  After the discussion every panel member was presented with the newly yet to be launched E6 phone.

It was time to give everyone a brief about the company and get on with the launch of Gionee Elife E6 Smartphone. With Global footprints, the Gionee is likely to go local with their mobile customizations based on the networks across the globe.

The setup facility that is setup for 80mn handsets is running at 60mn at the moment. Everything is done inhouse.
It's a small township they have established in China. Research and Development facility is divided on the basis of various operating models.

The beautiful looking design room really brings out the innovation in every employee working there.
Unless they get the delivery systems right, they don't target that city or country whatever be it. Still they are looking for partners in Delhi and Mumbai and hopefully they have found out some great ones which will start doing business by mid of October.
Their plan is very simple as India and China has 42% market share, so target India and take on from there.

Arvind explained the plan to build their brand in India and what he has done to do the same? It was really a great presentation and being an MBA myself, I totally loved it.
With the right product in their baskets, they just need to put the pressure on the accelerator for Indian Markets.

How they are going to gain momentum in building their brand and phone market was well explained. It looked good on the presentations but the actuals will be showcased to the world in the coming months and years.

I wish all the very best to the Gionee Mobile for launching their flagship model E6 in India.

After the presentation, it was the well awaited launch of  Gionee Elife E6 - "Do More with Less" and to my surprise there was Huma Qureshi who unveiled the phone.

She is the brand ambassador of the E6 Smartphone and really loved the looks and design of the phone.
After the launch at the experience store, I fell in love with the white version of E6. It looked great, form factor was awesome, thin, shiny and really it meant "Do More With Less".

The lunch was served by The Oberoi Hotel on the round tables we were sitting in. It was an amazing starters, main course and dessert. Wine was being served continuously. The goodies bag has Gionee material and a branded Tshirt.

I felt jealous of all the panel members who got the mobile in their hands, and also of those tech bloggers/companies who got the phone for testing/review that I decided to be ONE very soon.

I will also follow Gionee E6 vision of DO MORE WITH LESS!

Looking forward to the same asap!

Cheers!!!
