@PicknPay Launches The Song That #PnPKeepsOnGiving #FestiveSeason

Hi Guys,

“It’s been a long year, Pa-Rum-Pum-Pum-Pum, we need some festive cheer, Pa-Rum-Pum-Pum-Pum…’’ Pick n Pay, together with double Grammy award winners, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, have added their unique and proudly South African twist to the popular Christmas song, Little Drummer Boy made famous by Boney M.
The quirky tweaks to the song lyrics sum up South Africans take on the year that’s passed. Highlighting some of our everyday irritations, such as getting stuck in traffic, the song playfully suggests that instead of getting frustrated, we should shrug it off with a Pa-Rum-Pum-Pum-Pum while looking forward to the upcoming festive season and the New Year ahead. The Ladysmith Black Mambazo version of the song has been launched as part of Pick n Pay’s Christmas Campaign, which is focused on sharing and giving this season.
“We want to demonstrate to South Africans that although 2016 has been a challenging year we are all standing together to usher in some welcome festive downtime and look forward to 2017, in a fun and meaningful way. It’s all about giving our audience the best experiences with more on offer and more opportunities to contribute,” said Adrian Naude, Pick n Pay’s Group Executive for marketing.

Keep an eye on the http://pnpaddyourvoice.co.za/ page to see when the song will be available to download from iTunes or Google Play. Each time the song is downloaded Pick n Pay will donate to The Children’s Hospital Trust.
In addition, South Africans, older than 18 years of age, can also ‘add their voice’ to the campaign by uploading their own, 10 second, Pa-Rum-Pum-Pum-Pum video clip* to the Pick n Pay campaign page by 30 November. A selection of these clips will be combined to form the chorus that will feature in the final Ladysmith Black Mambazo music video, to be launched on 5 December.

Pick n Pay have partnered with FoodForwardSA so that every time South Africans watch the music video on the campaign page, Pick n Pay will donate loaves of bread on your behalf. The more you watch, the more loaves of bread you can donate and spread some festive cheer of your own.
“This campaign gives us the opportunity to end off the year on a high note. With your help we have the chance to turn those everyday Pa-Rum-Pum-Pum-Pum moments into something great for others,” concludes Adrian Naude.
